Fast Forward Video

I am interested in doing time lapse videography. Is Imovie 11' capable of speeding up footage? And if so what are the range of speeds that are offered. Does anyone have any suggestions is this program the one to use or are there other programs that I should look into. Thanks for any input you can offer.

Problem Fast Forwarding Video

Has anyone else experienced this? Sometimes when I fast forward videos I've put on the IPod, it stops, shows a black screen, and kicks me back to the main screen so I have to start the movie all over again.

Never Mind. I found another post saying to press the center button and then use the click wheel to move forward. This seems to be working fine.

Can't Fast Forward Videos...

I can play downloaded videos in iTunes, but when I try to fast forward it the video closes & I get a "Nothing Playing" message.

I have the same thing happen. Trying to fast forward or rewind a vid crashes iTunes.
Hope someone out there has a fix!

I've been trying to get transferring video from my linux machine working properly. I'm using iri'verter to convert to a suitably formatted xvid avi file.
When I transfer that file to by Zen using gnomad2 or mtpfs, while I can play it, I cannot fast forward or rewind.
If I copy the same file over to my windows machine and use the ZEN Media Explorer to transfer it, it works fine.
I've even then pulled the file back off the Zen using mtpfs and it is byte identical to the original.
It seems that the Windows software (or some facet of the interaction there) performs some sort of indexing of video file that is transferred, which doesn't happen if you use other tools...
Any ideas?

I have the same problem as I use a Mac. Only if you use the Creative Converter it is working fine for me...

Flash player skips to a green screen when fast forwarding video OSX 10.8.2

Right so I have searched the forum and found a few threads about flash videos generally being a green screen, but nothing there helped my problem, nor did it seem similar. I have a 15" MacbookPro Retina running OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2, my flash player is up to date, and so are my graphics drivers.
My problem is whenever I view a flash video, and I want to click ahead to a later point (i.e skip some of the video) then all I get is either a completely green screen or just pink and green noisy rubbish and nonsense video artefacts. The sound however continues to play fine from the point that I have skipped to. And also this happens regardless of the buffering of the video, If it is all fully buffered it still goes rubbishy as soon as I click ahead to skip, but if I just let videos play through they are fine to the end. html5 video plays fine, everything else on my system works flawlessly.
I read in a load of posts that i should disable hardware acceleration. But I can't, as my flash player is also suffering from the apparently well known bug where the right click settings menu is totally unresponsive to mouse input.
I'm stuck for what to do next and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you give this a try with Chrome to see if it also occurs there? It sounds like a networking problem but you might also want to try clearing your Flash Player cache and settings.

Media Error when fast forwarding downloaded videos from Video Store

I can't fast forward videos I have purchased and downloaded from the Video Store. I get the error message "Media error please try again." When I click OK the video closes. This is very frustrating since the video player does not recognize and remember where you left off when you restart it. For a 2 hour movie, I have to watch the whole thing again. Is this a known issue or is there some issue with my PlayBook? I have a 32 gig Playbook, brand new with OS 2.1.
Any help would be appreciated.

This happens to me when a video is not properly downloaded. In effect, the file is not complete even though the download appears to have been successful and the file information shows that the full length is there. I check downloaded videos first by dragging the video slider button left to right and observing if the video moves forward. If the image freezes at a certain point, I know the video is incomplete. If I release the video slider button at that point, the player gives an error and closes. The only solution then is to get a complete downloaded file.
The only other easy check to see if you in fact have the entire video is to check the file size. If it is much less than the advertised size of file from the store, then the file definitely did not download completely.

Problem with fast forward of trackball in media player of 8330

I'm a fairly new BB owner of a Sprint 8330 Curve. I've checked the newbies site on Crackberry and checked here also. Can anyone help with this problem:
I've downloaded some MP3 audiobooks from my local public library. They play fine, but the problem is that it always starts at the beginning every time. The book is in multiple parts, each of which is 60 minutes long, each of which is treated as a single song. I can see the reverse, pause, and fast forward buttons but I can't get the trackball to work with them.
When I scroll the trackball to the right to fast forward, it scrolls to the next part of the book, not within the same part (song). When I scroll the trackball left, it goes back to the last song. When I scroll it up or down, the whole playlist shows up on the screen and I can scroll through those.
I found one post that talked about how to fast forward video, but it showed a different screen that mine.
I just can't get the trackball to position itself on the progress bar or on the controls.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've got the same problem with my BlackBerry 8330. I have v4.5.0.169 (Platform 3.4.0.51). Once i start an audio file, I am unable to select the scroll bar above the play so that I can fast forward through the song, book, etc.

Loss of audio on Netflix streaming after fast forwarding

Hi,
Since the last update (can't remember the date), if I fast forward video on Netflix, even at the slowest speed, when I press play, its 50/50 if I get any sound. A press of rewind and then play restores it.
Apple TV is wired.
Anyone else had this problem?

I've also had it not see my Network a couple of times, so I've added it back to wireless and it all works fine.
Had a similar issue like this a while back when a firmware update killed Ethernet. Maybe it will get fixed again at the next release.

IMovie and Fast Forward NDT200/MiniDVR Pro

I'm about to venture into a project and would like to know if anyone has had experience of using the Fast Forward Video NDT200 or the MiniDVR Pro (VCR's) with iMovie HD6?

If you set the NDT-200 to record in .mov format then it will make movies that work in any quicktime application. What you will have to do is record first then transfer the movies into the mac after recording.
I'm also working on device control software for use on the Mac, It's presently in beta.

How to fast forward or do time search w/ Twonky & WRT1900AC?

Previously I was using Serviio on computers to share media to my tv. I also tried external storage attached to a Netgear R6100. In both setups I was able to fast forward videos or (even better) jump to a specific time in the video. This is seemingly not possible with Twonky. I attached the external drive to the Linksys and it appears on the tv fine. All the files are there. Playback is no problem (really snappy too). It just won't fast forward or do time search. I don't even think it pauses. Is there a way to either configure, update or replace Twonky? I'll have to get a different router if this can't be resolved.

Try to use Serviio and check if it will work. I think this router is not exclusive just with twonky so it's worth a try.

Is there a way to speed up the pace of the video (watch in fast-forward) I am watching?

I am watching a class lesson that is 3 hours long and my teacher talks extremely slow. Is there a way to speed up the pace of my video? I know on some video players you can watch a video in 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 etc. levels of fast forward.

Have you got the drives set up to spin down when not in use?
Have a look at the Energy Saver settings in System Preference on the Mac.
Make sure the "Put the Hard Discs to sleep when possible" box is not ticked.

IPod touch suddenly fast forwarding through songs and videos + voice control screen cutting in

In the last couple of days, it has started fast forwarding through songs and videos randomly. The voice control screen is also cutting in randomly. It happens as soon as I turn it on and play my first track or video. The only other problem I have noticed is that the volume controls on my headphones are no longer working. The headphones would be less than 6 months old and are genuine Apple ones. I don't think the problem is related because if I unplug them the fast forwarding still happens. I've tried powering it off and then re-starting it and I have been keeping the software up to date on it so I'm not sure what else I can try.
In saying that, this morning it seems to be working properly but I'm worried the problem will return. I still can't adjust the volume via the headphones though.
If anyone has any ideas about what I can do to resolve the fast forwarding problem, I would appreciate the feedback. The headphones I don't really care about because I can replace them.
I've had my iPod touch for a few years and use it pretty heavily so part of me is wondering whether it is just getting to the end of its life. I'm not sure what sort of lifespan I can expect from my iPod touch.

- Try a regular pair of headphones
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6 (I think because the licensing agreement with google ended). You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or (if this isn't the version that you have tried) try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)

I have iTunes version 10.7.0.21 for Windows 7. It was working fine untill recently. Now when I play a T.V. show the audio cuts in and out, the video pauses intermittenly and also intermittenly fast forwards. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

If i go to high res (720p or higher) my screen turns green and the video fast forwards to the end.

I have windows 7 64 bit and use mozila firefox 15.0.1
I have got the problem that when i select higher resolution in videos (such as on youtube) that at 480p it will run for a while but then just stops even though the buffering is already complete.
If i go to higher resolutions like 720p or 1080p the video will run for a while again but then the screen goes green and the movie fast forwards to the end preventing me to watch movies without problems at higher res.
If u want more information about my problems or know a solution pls tell me.

Could you try temporarily disabling protected mode to see if that makes a difference (instructions towards the bottom of the FAQ linked below)? I'll circle back with our video team to see if they've made any progress with this issue.
