Fast response in dial-peer
I have a dial-peer match the string 10 and another matching string 100.
everytime I dial 100 it matches the dial-peer for 10 and rings before i even complete the dial.
is there anyway i can let the router wait to collect all digits before matching with a dial-peer?
PLS HELP!!!
Routers do not have the ability to see if a longer destination pattern will also match. As soon as the router finds a dialpeer that matches, the call is routed to the session target or port.
There are a couple ways to deal with this.
1) Have the shorter number a different first digit, e.i. 20, so that it does not match before the 100 pattern.
2) Make both patterns three digits long and make each unique.
3) Depending on your needs, you might be able to use the "T" to make the 10 pattern to wait for the length of the inter-digit timeout. This would mean that anyone dialing 10 will wait 10 seconds or so before the call routes.
A useful command for checking which dial peer the router will use is "Show Dialplan number XXX" XXX is the number that is being dialed.
Hope this helps.

Dial-Peer matches but fails to call out
Hello,
Am trying to get my CME configured for Callcentric. I have both an inbound and an outbound plan.
With my dial-peers configured for standard 11-digit and 10-digit dialing, calls go to fast busy after all digits except the last two are dialed. Debug shows a dial-peer match initially, then states no match and the call fails. If I change the destination pattern to match my cell phone number exactly, I can dial all the digits but the call still fails. Anyone have a suggestion?
Here are my dial peers:

Outbound Dial-Peer from CME to UC540 not working
Dear Experts,
We have a HQ UC560 and new branch with 2811 router. These sites connected via VPN using fortigate. The connectivity between the sites is up and we are able to ping both the sites and the voice networks successfully.
I have configured the dial-peers on both the sites. The calls from HQ to the local branch are successful without any problem but when we dial from branch to the HQ, we get a fast busy signal. Below is the dial peer config
HQ -
dial-peer voice 300 voip
destination-pattern 3..
session target ipv4:192.168.110.1
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
no vad
Branch -
dial-peer voice 800 voip
destination-pattern 8..
session target ipv4:192.168.201.2
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
no vad
Csim results from Branch -
csim start 891
csim: called number = 891, loop count = 1 ping count = 0
csim err csimDisconnected recvd DISC cid(786)
csim: loop = 1, failed = 1
csim: call attempted = 1, setup failed = 1, tone failed = 0
Kindly please advise. thanks.Hi, It is as suspected Toll Fraud App who rejected the call from BR site.

you need to add BR GW IP address (192.168.110.1) to under 'voice service voip> ip address trusted list' as given below.
voice service voip
ip address trusted list
ipv4 192.168.110.1

Hi,
I have cucm 9 and cme 9 with srst on remote site.
I have configured snr (mobility) and it was working fine.
I have configured dial-peer hunt because I get a busy tone when the cucm is available and all phone are registered to the cucm instead of the cme.
Now snr do not work anymore do you have an idea ?
Thank youLog file SNR working without "dial-peer hunt"

Slow ARP response for dial-in clients
I’ve been experiencing an intermittent issue with remote PC’s connecting to a Cisco AS5350 Universal Gateway - basically, a RAS server.
The issue as far as I’ve been able to pinpoint seems to be related to the amount of time it takes the dial-in client to register an ARP entry on the local network where the RAS server and other servers are connected. If I start an extend ping to one of the servers on the local network (not to the RAS server) once my dial-up connection has been established, I typically see anywhere between 3 and 18 ICMP request timeouts before I start receiving replies. And if at the same time I start an extended ping to the IP address of the RAS server, ICMP replies are received immediately with no request timeouts.
Topology:
Dial-in Client <===> AS5350 RAS <===> L2 Switch <===> Server

The switch that the AS5350 and the servers are connected to is a WS-C2960G-8TC-L layer-2 switch with a very basic config. Basically they only thing I’ve changed during the course of my troubleshooting is the STP mode, STP forward time and to enabled STP portfast on the uplinks to the AS5350 and the server… see configuration below:

For troubleshooting, I enabled “debug arp” on the switch and attempted a dial-up connection to the AS5350. Once the call was established and I received a DHCP lease (192.168.240.131), I started an extended ping to a server (192.168.240.21) on the network… see below:

The first line of the debug shows the switch creating an “incomplete entry” for the dial-in client (192.168.240.131).
For all subsequent ICMP requests, you can see that the dial-in client has a MAC address of 0000.0000.0000 – I guess you would call this an incomplete entry.
On the last line of the debug output, you can see that the dial-in client (192.168.240.131) finally gets the MAC address of the AS5350 (000d.280c.fe1b) assigned to it – this is when we start getting ICMP replies.
So during this capture, there were 12 ICMP request timeouts before the dial-in client started receiving replies.

Is anyone aware of an IOS bug or an error in my configurations that could be causing the delay in creating an ARP entry for the dial-in client?
I am open to any suggestions.
BTW, if I add static arp entries on the server, ICMP replies are typically received after one or two request timeouts.
However, I feel this is not a solution to the problem, only a band-aid fix.

Site to Site calling issue - Cisco 2911 Dial Peer Configuration
My customer dials from remote site to main site to their main site number, the call by-passes their auto attendant and goes directly to any random available party.
At first fingers were pointing to the their PBX, however we noticed one of their sites that wasn't managed by our company did not have the issue. We cut that site over to our service and the issue started right up. I believe it is possibly due to the way the dial peers are configured and how the calls route into the PBX. Unfortunately I do not understand much about them and curious to know if anyone has any history on a issue similiar to this or any input whatsoever?

Andy,
Unless you use a real time platform, getting extactly 1 ms loop rate
(or even less) is impossible. It starts getting troublesome at about
0.1 Hz for standard operating systems.
I'd tackle your problem with "if i mod 10 == 0 then sleep 1 ms".
Of
course this is jerky by design.

is it possible to define a rule for incoming voip dial-peer matching based on the source IP address of originating VOIP gateway ?
I need it for differentiate outgoing POTS lines based on the source gateway. Any ideas how to do it ?

Best practice about dial-peer creating when using analog lines
Hi,
I am trying to find out what is the best practice when creating dial-peer for analog lines on CME, should I use trunk group or create separate dial-peer for each FXO ports? If I use trunk group, is there any advantage ( lesser dial-peer) or disadvantage?
Thanks! The advantage of trunk groups is that a single dial peer can point to for instance PSTN, rather then multiple dialpeers, with varying preference, each pointing to a separate FXO. Funtionally I can't see much difference. So I guess it also comes down to personal preference.

Is there a way to put a delay on a dial peer in CME?
My users... Keep on dialing 9911, then hanging up because it was an accident. Then emergency services call back and get main automated attendant, then they dispatch out to the office pissed off. 3 times this month now...
Can I put a 1 second delay on the 911 dial peer so that if someone dials 9911, and realizes their mistake, they can hang up and no harm/no foul. In the off chance that it is a real emergency, the 1 second delay is not going to hurt anyone, but it will give the user that second to change his/her mind and hang up without further irritating emergency services.Hello Clark,
refer to this
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/voice/dialpeer/configuration/guide/12_4t/vd_12_4t_book/vd_dp_feat_cfg.html
example
"9, 911." The comma in this example means that the router will pause for 1 second between dialing the "9" and dialing the "9" to allow for a secondary dial tone.
(,). comma indicates a 1-second pause in dialing

- i'm emulating PSTN with a cisco voice gateway, this gateway is connected to cisco3925's port 0/0/0.
- cisco3925's port 0/0/1 is connected to Third party Voice Gateway.
- cisco 3925 speaks with Cisco CUCM in H323.
Now let's go for an incoming call from the PSTN when 3925 has no connection to CUCM, with called number 321672711 (321672... is the GNR of the site):
1. inbound: dial-peer 110 finds match so the called number is transformed to 591711 (it is a DN not registered to SRST cisco gateway)
2. outbound: i expect dial-peer 100 to be matched, because 172.23.112.20 is no more reacheable. From the show call active voice dial-peer 1 is matched as the attached. I need to set preference 1 in dial-peer 100 because when WAN is UP i don't want dial-peer 100 to be matched (and it works). But when WAN is down dial-peer 100 must match. If i remove preference 1, dial-peer 100 finds match; but for correct path selection i cannot remove it.
What am I forgetting?
thanks for support

port 0/0/0:15Hello Marco,
There could be two possibilities:
1. To avoid dial-peer 1 being selected in the dialplan match, when gateway is trying to route the call, you can configure ICMP Probe , which would mark dial-peer as down, in case of WAN failure. So call will use dial-peer 100, automatically, as that will only be an possible match.
Here is document , in case you are interested in ICMP Probe:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/voice/command/reference/vr_book/vr_m3.html#wp1397581
2. Ideally default dial-peer hunting mechanism is, Longest - Preference - Random , so as both the dial-peer has same destination pattern, in terms of specific digits and number of wild cards. So it should be looking as preference value of two possible matches, so in this test dial-peer 1 would win. Router will try to route the call using that dial-peer, if fails it should automatically fall back to dial-peer 100 as next choice.
But please note that it will still use dial-peer 1 at first attempt, as dial-peer status is not linked to interface status or WAN status. To verify this theory , you can remove session target command, and you will see that dial-peer 1, is not even selected in match, that's because removing session target command, will mark is as DOWN for outgoing status.
Taking below said debugs would help further, in case configuring ICMP probe is not viable option.
debug voip ccapi inout ( it will help understand , dial-peer match and hunting process ).
debug voip dialpeer inout
Hope that helps. -
How monitor the use of dial-peer (Connect Time)
How monitor multiple dial-peer (Connect Time) ??
When this reaches the defined time accumulated connected (example: Connect Time = 10000) shutdown the dial-peer.
UC520#show dial-peer voice 2 | beg Connect
Connect Time = 1430, Charged Units = 0,
Successful Calls = 2, Failed Calls = 0, Incomplete Calls = 0
Accepted Calls = 0, Refused Calls = 0,
Last Disconnect Cause is "10 ",
Last Disconnect Text is "normal call clearing (16)",
Last Setup Time = 1445373634.
Last Disconnect Time = 1445375144.
enable dial-peer in a day of the month date concurrently (example: Every day 15 of each month)
commands used:
clear statistics dial-peer voice 1
show dial-peer voice 1 | beg Connect Time
Thanks
Felix GuzmanThis should be doable with an EEM policy. If I understand you correctly you want to watch for connect time to reach 10000 when it does you want to shutdown the dial peer.
And then enable every 1th day of each month.
The first part you would do with a watchdog EEM policy which periodically runs and checks the output of the show dial-peer voice 2 command.
The second part you probably would use a second EEM script to trigger on a cron timer set for the 15th day of the month, and have it run the commands you mentioned.
Thanks. -
Multiple incoming dial-peer matched
Dear,
Could someone, tell me why after matching an incoming-peer on "answer-address" system matches for same call another incoming dial-peer based a "destination-pattern" ... shouldn't the system start looking for outbound dial-peer once first incoming diapeer matched?

MarcHi
Dial peer matching (inbound and outbound) has a list of attributes that are used in a specific order.
For inbound peers, 'incoming called-number' has top priority, so the other command you set are not checked as this 'incoming called-number .' matches any called number!
Destination-pattern is the lowest priority match for an inbound peer, and answer-address is lower priroty than incoming called-number.
See this doc for the process in detail:

As5350 one voip dial-peer to 2 IP address?
Is there any way to configure AS5350 so that one voip dial-peer can point to 2 different Ip address, one for primary, one for backup? so when primary is down, the traffic can be sent to backup automatically? BTW, I do not have GK. those 2 IP for redundant softswitch.
Hi,
your solution is very simple. Use two dial-peers pointing to the same destination-pattern (prefix/phone number). Set the appropriate IP address to each of the dial-peers. Then configure their preference. The one with the higher preference will be used as a primary and the other - as a backup.

Is there a way to stop Text box highlight animations in Yosemite
Tabbing to a text box causes a 'bouncing' highlighting of that text box. Previous OSes simply highlighted the box. Yosemite uses a 3-d effect, probably because everything is so flat? I'm sure there is a reason for this silly behavior, probably the sa
