Fast writes enabled in BIOS but not in Windows 2000

WPCID and SiSoft Sandra report that fast writes is disabled despite being enabled in BIOS. When fast writes are enabled with NVMax, all games crash within 30 seconds.

I'm trying to use the computer off a new Samsung evo 120. I want to do a fresh install of windows 7 on it. The bios picks it up, but it's not an option to install when I try to do a fresh install of windows 7.. Kind of at a loss here of what to do, is there an option on the mobo I need to set in order for it to be detected?

Sounds one of the following problems:
1.) The drive is formatted MBR w/ win 8 features enabled / legacy disabled.
2.) A "dynamic" drive is present.

P67A-GD65 B3 Overclocked In Bios But Not In Windows?

Just got this board last week with a I5-2500. I overclock it manually to 4ghz and it seems to take in the bios. Shows 4ghz. But when I boot into Windows7 using CPU-Z it show 3.8? I disabled the power saving stuff thinking that is the problem but no go. Can't get Windows to see it above 3.8

Did you log out of one account and into the other or just used Fast user switching?
Is the permissions set to anyone?
When you move data to teh Shared folder is it copied or just moved?
If copied then it's not a folder both can access, just a way station like a USB thumb drive that things are coped too and off of likely.
You can run this #5 on each user account to reset the user permissions once they are taken back out of the Shared folder

if you don't have "enable disk use" or "manually manage music" selected in your summary tab, that's normal.

I can't open firefox the running but not responding window opens and says to close the existing window. I can't do that shutting down the computer doesn't do anything to help. I've done all the suggestions here. I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox

I am having a similar problem. Running Xp.
Latest revision of firefox.
After using firefox for a while if I exit, parent.lock is locked and i have to reboot to reload firefox.
I have killed all firefox applications from task manager (usually there are none). and I have tried 3 different "file unlock" programs including unlocker to no avail.
I also recently installed a program that shows -all- open files, and parent.lock is not listed, and thus not closable/unlockable from there.

I saw distorted icon image in windows 8.1 but not in Windows 8. This bug doesn't affect Windows 8.1 functionality but causes some icons to look ugly, distorted, fuzzy.This bug can be seen in "Delete confirmation dialog box". The
folder icon in delete confirmation dialog box will look distorted and ugly. Black edges will appear around the icon and the icon will not look correct.The same thing also happens in "Send To" menu.
Also heard that this bug is not related to graphics card driver or any other thing.

Illustrator extention export PDF file as PSD worked on Windows XP but not on Windows 7

We have a extension that convert files to CMYK PSD with color profile attached. It worked fine (for most of files) on Windows XP but not on Windows 7.

above code never throw any exception on Windows7, but just no file been saved. It only happened to convert PDF to PSD.
If I manually open file in Illustrator (win7) and export it as PSD, I got ‘not enough memory’ error. I googled a solution make the manual exporting worked but still the extension didn’t work.
The solution for manual operation is set ‘additional plug-in folder’ for preferences-> plug-ins& Scratch disks’.
Any advice?

I apologize for not having an answer. I just wanted to chime in and say that I am having the exact same issue. I have never had this before. It's happened ever since I had my hard drive replaced and Illustrator has been reinstalled, so I am assuming that it's a preference somewhere that I have missed?

Black Screen with Radeon 6970 bios, but not the stock 6950.

My previous motherboard was the Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H and an Athlon II x4. It ran the Radeon 6950 unlocked as a 6970 on this bios for 3 years: imgur(dot)COM /oXBNtTk
I recently got the G3258, and the B85M GAMING MSI motherboard on bios 10.2. It booted a black screen until I switched the bios to stock. (2 bios options, w/ physical switch) My question is how do I fix this, is there a bios option to disable? Why is this happening..
Also of note, the windows 7 account control popup security check, and logging after password input will show a black screen for about 1 second. I find this strange. (stock bios obviously)

So you updated under Windows with what tool? Most likely the ME firmware wasn't updated this way. Try reupdating it properly:

A.) Download the attached archive (A70.rar) and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the Forum flash tool.
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
F.) Boot to the USB
G.) Now follow the directions and let the tool flash
H.) After flashing reinstall ME drivers in Windows: http://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/intel_amt90_mb.zip

How to use ActiveX to open/write to Excel template but not to overwrite it

Hi there again (it's me...if anyone recognised me...)
I managed to use ActiveX to open Excel and make it visible onto the screen. But I would like to know how can I make Excel open an Excel template and let me write data to the cells without overwriting the original template. I did try to use another program source such as the EXCEL TOOLKIT but I can't still figure out how does it work for my case. Is there a simpler example for me to refer too? Please help.

I have tried to use the examples provided LabView 6.0. I don't understand how to use the Range value to get the data from my global array and also how to open the template and write data to it.
At the moment, I could only open a saved dialog box and a default string filename is used to save my data into a new Excel but not the formatted excel which I want.
If possible, please help again. Vi attached.

New hard drive shows in Bios and device manager but not in windows explorer in windows 7

I have added a new sata 500gig hard drive and it is recognised in the bios, but is not recognised by windows explorer, though the disk is showing in device manager as a hard drive . I have followed the example on the forum by going to computer management and rescanning disks, to no avail.
Any ideas how I can get to use the drive?

Thanks Dale (and everyone else). A cure! Sorry I did not reply earlier, but have been trying all known fixes to no avail... However. The second of your links in the last reply of yours (starting, New Drive or mapped network drive) worked with a slight variation in windows7, as follows is how I achieved joy.
Right-click My Computer , and then click Manage .
Under Computer Management (Local) , click Disk Management .
This far is as above, then I'll add comments to the existing help to show my variant.
In the list of drives in the right pane, right-click the new drive and then click Change Drive Letter and Path(s) .
Here it still did not show the drive in the right window, but below it there is a second window listing disks and one of them unallocated and without a drive letter was my new drive. IMPORTANT! This set of info may not be apparent unless you enlarge the box by dragging it, as the default only shows the top box (so I have missed it until now on all my searching). Right clicking on this gave a set of obvious choices to create a choice of drive letter, format and options (NTFS etc) and this created the drive for me. I am sorry I am vague on the box choices, but on right selecting a live drive it doesn't bring up the "unallocated" box choices again. Edit there are a few varieties of fibre cabinets with some smaller, but the thing to look out for are cooling grills which as Toekneem mentioned if the cabinet is powered up you can easily hear the fans running.
And if so then your nearly set for Infinity and beyond!!!
