Faster loading of site and pages?

I have a site that I'm still working on. It has 15+ pages- 14 pages have the same master page, the Home Page has a different Master. When I view in Browser view, and use the buttons to take me to another page, it reloads the entire new page and takes 4-5 seconds to appear. Is there a way to make this transition faster? Also, can I design one long page, placing "pages" one on top of the other (the whole sit could be scrolled), then linking each "page" section to the menu buttons? Hope I've made myself clear. (Bet you can't tell I'm stupidly new at this). Thank you.

To answer your first question, it takes more time if you have heavy images or any heavy content on the page. However once the page loads up for the first time, when you come back to the page it loads up quickly as it picks up all the images from cache.
Also try to put more content on Master pages (if possible) as Master page content will also be loaded using cache and it will help your pages load faster.
And regarding your second query, you can acheive this in Adobe Muse by creating only one page and adding all the content to it. After that use Anchor links and place them on the required places in the page and link them to the menu.

HELP! iWeb Application opening up older site and pages.

Last night, I accidently deleted a site I built in iWeb. After much heartache, I rebuilt the entire site, republished it & everything was fine. I deleted older (dated files) & trashed them. Everything seemed fine this morning.
Now, I open up iWeb appication and the older site & pages which I had thought I had originally deleted is coming up and my most recent rebuilt site is now gone.
Not sure what happened, but the most recent rebuilt site is what I want, not the older one.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!!!

My new rebuilt site is still correct and showing up in my browser because I haven't republished the older site - which is now showing up in iWeb application.
It's the older site and pages that are showing up in the iWeb application. When I rebuilt the site, I updated it, so I'd like to be able to make changes and republish this most recent site when necessary.

Problems with erradic crashes and loading of web sites and pages

I am running os 10.5.8 and have never had internet/issues. Recently my system will not be able to load web sites or they will take 5 min or more. Or a web site will load fine but then I will not be able to load pages from this site. There are websites that this is not an issue and ones that won't load at all. Then I can go back and try the sites/pages again and they will load only to freeze again. This is true for firefox or safari. I have tried the following.Apple software update; reload web browsers; delete plist from web browser preferences; cleared all the history files; deleted all the library caches; checked the security; run dnschanger; nothing has fixed the problem.... Could this be a virus? Please help!!!!!!!!!!

I opened more than one instance of my web application
in Internet Explorer by pressing CTRL + N. And I
tried to send the request from all the browsers. The
requests are stopping my Tomcat application server.
If I sent request from only one browser in that case
Tomcat is sending correct response to browser to
display in jsp pages.
I tested this 10 times by sending requests from
multiple browsers and all 10 times these requests
stopped the Tomcat application server.
Can any one please tell me where would I am going

And also I have problems with session timeout. I
added the following
code to the web.xml file in my web application

My web application is automatically logging out after
30 min if the user session is idle for 30 min.
But I want capture the session idle time, so I can
custom error message. Can some one please give me
sample code to calculate user session idle time. Can

interface and HttpSessionBindingEvent class?You don't need to capture the session idle time for that. You only need to check if the session has invalidated and display a message accordingly.

Flash sites and page ranking

Hello all, I'm brand new to the forum and was hoping to get
some insight. Is it possible to have your page rankings just as
good as an all html based site compared to an all flash based site?
Would descriptions and a summary inside the html of the page
holding the SWF help any? along with the meta tags of

I used SWFaddress for SEO for Flash. You will have to make
for each page in Flash a page in HTML. Like that google will still
find your content and pages. But maybe you have to look at the

Why is FireFox so slow to initially load web sites, and then works fine?

The last two updates on FireFox, on my Windows 7 64-bit computer, is very, very slow to connect to web sites (20-30 or more minutes.) Once it does, it works fine. It loads quickly from the cache, and it seems to actually connect to some web sites in the first few seconds before the delay begins. The computer has no malware; using Windows firewall; virus software disabled without solving the problem; using Windows Defender. Other computers on the same home network are having no problems with FireFox.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

Firefox just stopped working! It opens but wont load any sites and gives no error messages. internet working as using safari now.

Was in the UK yesterday and Firefox was working no problem. Arrived back in Denmark today and FF has stopped working. Mac was closed down for the flight over. Firefox opens and does nothing.. when I click on a bookmark the address bar stays empty and the little search icon continues to rotate. Reset firefox and still get the same problem. I am using the same internet connection I used before going away! Please help!

Do other browsers and services that can contact internet like e-mail work?

When I open firefox, it won't load any sites, and it won't let use the drop downs, I have to force quit --running os 10.6.7

Safari Not Loading Selected Sites

Safari is not loading few sites and if it does (like Facebook/Twitter/BBC/Flipkart/Amazon), it is very slow and it turns out to be like the screenshot attached. But opens banking sites, apple.com and other sites absolutely fine (snapdeal.com)
1. Checked and changed the DNS once.
2. Restarted the WiFi router and my Macbook Air.
3. Checked the Firewall & Gatekeeper settings

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe modeand log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Internet Problem - One site will load, another won't. Then mintues later, the site that previously would load won't and the one that wouldn't will. I'm also pulling up a lot of pages in all text. Pics won't load or only one will load and the rest won't...

Several weeks ago, I began to have some very strange internet connection issues. All the lights on my modem stay on and my computer shows full wi-fi signal, but I suddenly I won't be able to load any pages. Other times, I'll be able to load pages from one site, but not another. It's not the same sites all the time though.... sometimes I'll be able to load pages from one site and not another, and then 5 minutes later it'll switch and I'll be able to load pages from the site I previously couldn't and I won't be able to load pages from the site I previously could. A lot of pages are coming up just text with no pics... and then 5 mintues later that site will load normally and another site will come up just text. It does the same thing whether I'm connecting wirelessly or via an ethernet cable. It also doesn't matter which browser I use (I've tried Safari, Chrome, and Firefox). Although, once in a while when using chrome, I get a DNS error page instead of the usual 'cannot find server'. I contacted my service provider and I'm not losing speed or dropping packets. According to them, the problem I'm having is very strange since diagnostic tests show no problems at all. Perhaps someone has run into this before and has a suggestion?

Then if you have tried all the browsers try connecting the system to yoour router with an Ethernet cable and turn WiFi off. If you have the same problem then it more then likely after your computer, Router or modem or connection from your ISP.
If you get good browsing with the Ethernet cable then it is either the WiFi card in your Mac or the WiFi system in your router.

This is not the first time I get it, and it seems a recurring problem.

Since update, various sites load very slowly and some do not load until "Reload Current Page" is clicked several times.

Since Firefox update (6.0.2) many sites load very slowly and some do not load at all (green circle rotates infinitely) until "Reload Current Page" is clicked on 2 to 12 times.
Returned to version 5. No more slow load.
Automatically re-updated me to 6.0.2 and now slow again.
Returned to FF 5 again and turned off automatic update.
Downloaded 7.0.1 and the problem seems to be solved.

Same here, only that updating to 7.0 or 7.0.1 doesn't seem to solve this issue. Seems to have something to do with loading images (e.g: adobe.com stops loading when "wwwimages.adobe.com" is being loaded. imdb.com, on the other hand, seems to load images very slowly and not all of them).
Safe-mode. disabling add-ons, clearing cache and cookies and checking for malware doesn't help.

Cannot load any site, it seems loading and then appears a blank page "untitled"

Everything was working properly and i used mozilla to view internet sites, and then one day i double clicked the shortcut icon to run mozilla as always, waiting to load the default homepage that i had set, and all i saw was a blank page "untitled", and every attempt to fix it hasn't worked, all i have managed was once to remove the programme download it again and re-install it, it worked properly but the next time i tryed to use mozilla it happened the same thing.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
