Fastest way to sync 2 AP Librairies on 2 machines?

Hi guys,
I have an iMac with USB and LAN ports and the latest 13" Macbook Pro with USB and Thunderbolt. I do most of my work on the iMac and then use the Mbook to bring my work wherever I need to go.
I have so far copied the librairy to an external drive and then use that to update the librairy on the Mbook, but each process takes about 45 minutes for a 60GB library. Exhausting and time consuming. Any more efficient ways to do the same?

Putting it on and running it from an external drive is likely the best, simplest, most error-free method. There are other things that will work (put it on your laptop and mount it when needed to your desktop), but they are complex and invite user error. The issue is that Aperture is a single-user, single-location application, with no provisions for syncing.

Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

Easiest way to sync 2 audio tracks - detect beats?

I record bands using a camcorder and simultaneously record hi quality audio using a multi-track recorder. My previous software automatically recognized that the audio tracks were similar and sync'ed them for me. So far... trying to sync my hi fidelity MP3 with the camcorder audio/video has been difficult. I tried using "beat detect" but I don't see how to use that on 2 different audio tracks to sync them. Once they are synched, I delete the camcorder audio and I am left with the same video with awesome audio. What is the easiest/fastest way to sync 2 virtually identical audio tracks?

Thanks for the WAV file tip. I zoom in as far as I can (unless I'm missing something) and I rarely see the waveform. The attached graphic shows one of the tracks as a very "low resolution" waveform (I see no way to accurately line up tracks using this waveform). I hoped to use "detect beats" on both tracks to, at least, get close. Is there a way to expand the waveforms vertically so I can actually see the waves and align them? I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. You can sync the saves between devices by using the Apple sharing through iTunes to copy save games (and other items) on and off from a device.
- Connect your iPod/iPad/iPhone to your computer
- Open iTunes, then select the device in the panel at the left
- Select 'Apps' then at the bottom you should notice an area called 'File Sharing'
- Select 'FM 2012' or 'FM 2011' (depending on which game you have) from the apps listed and you'll see a handful of files in the panel on the rightAny ".dat" files are saved games and you'll have up to 5 of them. "hidden.dat" is the autosave file, while "fm_save1.dat" through to "fm_save4.dat" are manually saved files named according to their position in the save slots.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. Is there a way to sync apps and pictures between iphone and ipad.

I am going back to work in a few weeks and I am looking for a way to sync the iPad/iPhone so that I have quick saccess to see my son and keep track of his baby app that I use. Plus I want to be able to have easy access to any photos takne with the ipad so I can see them immediatly with the iphone. (if any of that made sense)

Not really. iOS devices were designed to sync to one iTunes account, not multiple accounts. Simply email what you want to your Desk Top and transfre them to your iTunes library on that computer. Or get a Dropbox account. You can download Dropbox on your iPad and have dropbox on your Desk Top and Laptop. You could access files, music, pictures, etc., you put in your Dropbox account from any device. You get 2GB free storage, but you can purchase additional storage if you need it.

Week view and task list solutions? Solved: a way to sync notes to Mac.

I've been using a Palm Tungsten T5 for years and routinely rely on the Palm's Calendar week view feature and task list. The week view is indispensable to see where I can fit in appointments. Are there any ways to achieve the same functionalities on the iPhone, whether using built-in iPhone apps or third party apps? The task list would have to include item priorities, due dates, alarms, and ideally repeating events.
I have found a way to sync notes from the iPhone to my Mac using MarkSpace's The Missing Sync for iPhone; notes are synced to the MarkSpace "notebook" application, where you can edit the notes (and copy and paste) and sync them back to the iPhone. This doesn't sync notes with any Apple applications, though.
If I could solve the week view and task list omissions, I could see my way to replace my Palm with an iPhone. (And when ePocrates releases a full suite for the iPhone, I'll be all set.) But in the absence of these, I'll have to keep using a Palm.

I'm in the same boat, unfortunately.
As a life long Palm-User the PIM-functionalities of iCal can only be described as "rudimentary". It is nowhere near DateBk6 for example. And I would be just fine if it would come close to say 50% of it's functionality. Right now it's at about 25%.

- no week view?
- no icons for event/task categories?
Come on Apple, such a great device with the amazing screen resolution, horizontal view etc. and you are not taking opportunity of it and get beat by 10 year old PDA's?

In the Module pool you will have fields. For those fields you have created the name also. Assign those name to work area and from there to internal table.
And for your requirement viceversa you need to done.

A way to sync tasks into one calendar on N8, appoi...

I am currently syncing appointments into one calendar and tasks into another, on my Nokia N8. Why do I do this? Skip about halfway down this post, for my rationale.
I'd like to know if there's an easier way to get this done.
I am using a Nokia N8 and syncing with Outlook 2007.
I have both Ovi Suite and Nokia PC Suite (7.1.30.9, which is one of the last versions that doesn't prohibit a connection with the N8). And, I've synced succesfully with both of them.
Nokia PC Sync is set to synchronize tasks and files/folders, but not appointments or contacts. I set it to sync an empty Calendar folder within Outlook. But, it syncs my normal Tasks folder. That way, Tasks go into a calendar on the N8 called "PC Sync."
Then, Ovi Suite synchronizes appointments and contacts, but not tasks or files/folders. I set it to sync an empty Tasks folder within Outlook, but it syncs my normal Calendar folder. Ovi Suite places the appointments into the default N8 calendar called "Personal"
Is there a way, preferrably using Ovi Sync, where I can place tasks into one calendar, on the N8, and Appointments into a different calendar?
Why do I do this? Nokia didn't provide a way to exclude tasks from any of the calendar views (but provided a task-only view - what were they thinking!?). This means the daily and weekly views are filled with tasks, all set ahead of the appointments. I cannot imagine why anyone would want that to constitute their default view of the calendar. Particularly since there is a view available, of only tasks.
By placing tasks in a separate calendar from appointments, I can pick and choose whether I want to see tasks with appointments, in the daily and weekly views.
Now, if only Symbian would be able to sync the categories associated with my tasks and appointments, in Outlook. . . But, I realize (even after years of hoping Nokia would introduce the concept of categories to its software) that you have to walk, before you can run.
I hope you have found this post to be entertaining. But, back to my original question: Is there any way to sync - using only one software solution on the PC, tasks into one of the Nokia N8's calendars and appointments into another?

Come on Apple! You have to be kidding me! I got caught up in the iPhone 3G euphoria and blindly ordered my 16GB Black about a week ago. (still waiting for it BTW) I had not purchased an iPhone Edge specifically because of its lack of Exchange connectivity. I have been "suffering" with an AT&T Tilt (HPC 8925, TyTn II) for the past year while I waited for Apple to "catch up" as it were.
Well, imagine my surprise a few minutes ago when I read that "Exchange ActiveSync Support" on the iPhone is not as capable as it is on a Windows Mobile device or even a Blackberry for that matter!
Look, any junior Exchange admin knows how important Public Folders are in the enterprise. There is absolutely no excuse for the lack of Public Folder support on the iPhone. This is a serious issue that will lose Apple and AT&T important high use, high revenue enterprise customers.
Then there is the issue of tasks. It has been my experience that many Exchange users utilize the Tasks feature extensively. I am dumbfounded that task support is missing from the iPhone.
Finally comes Notes. While it might not be used as much as Public Folders and Tasks, from the outside looking in it seems that integrating Exchange Notes would be a fairly simple endeavor.
PLEASE tell me and the rest of your customers (and potential customers) that support for Exchange Tasks, Notes, and Public Folders is in the works. We need something integrated just like mail, calendars, and contacts, not some patch-on workaround.

Is there a way to sync the Notes app on my iPod Touch with the Notes on my desktop without using iCloud

I've been reading some of the other threads about this issue, but most, if not all, suggest using iCloud. I'm wary of setting up an iCloud account because I've heard that "once your information is 'in the cloud' it can't be deleted", and I just don't know how true that is.
Is there a way to sync the two apps by some other means that bypasses "the cloud"?

I think that cloud privacy concerns are overdone - especially with Apple who don't have a vested interest in snooping through your data like Google does!
Do you use email? It's stored in the cloud on the providers servers - no matter who the provider is.
Do you use SMS on a phone? They're stored on a server somewhere!
Do you use the internet? The logs are stored at your ISP for some period of time - tracking everywhere you've been.
Thats why I am comfortable to use iCloud for most of my documents. If I want to transfer files very securely, I put them in an encrypted disk image on Dropbox.

I have a bold 9700. right now, it is 2 way syncing with my main laptop/outlook 2010 and one way sync to my on the road thinkpad/outlook 2010. I like to make changes via a browser too. I originally though you can up use a exchange host company like 1and1 to do the job but when i tried to sign up today they said it can't be done with Blackberries. I am a soho guy (me and myself) and won't need my email sync at all. I just need contacts and calender and nothing else. Any reasonable cost solution for less than $ 6 a month?

You three would do better to sync to google directly. Google has a blackberry app that will allow you to sync your contacts and calendars. The app isn't perfect, but it works reasonably well, especially if you're just using one calendar to sync.
Then there's plenty of ways to sync those to your iPad using Google, including Exchange, or simply adding it as a google account.
As for iCloud, there really isn't any supported or unsupported method to do what you're trying to do, at least at this time. If there is, it would definitely be a hack and I would be wary of risking your contact or calendar data on it..

I'll venture that your problem here is that you're using two very different versions of Mac OS X. The USB adapter has been useful to me when making big downloads or while using other networks, but it might not be your case.
Here's what I would advise, though it may be less than stellar: Copy the files you need into folders and move them through a USB flash drive or using that external hard drive of yours. (Could the format be the reason your MBA can't see it?). Some stuff like calendars and contacts can be exported too. At least in Lion, I haven't used Tiger in a while.
