Fastest Way to Upload a 10 Minute Video For a Vlog?

Hi all. I have a 10 minute video (484 MB) that I've compressed as a .MOV file. I'm trying to upload it to my website or to Internet Archives and it's taking FOREVER. Am I better off compressing it as an mpeg-4 or for ipod? Is it normal for 10 minutes of video to take 5-6 hours to upload to a website?
Thanks.
Scott

DUDE! FOUR HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FOUR MEGABYTES?!?!?
You need to learn about compressor and H.264 - my short film (Killer Trees) is 10 minutes and is 41 megabytes...
Patrick
EDIT: I shouldn't say my film - I just cut it.

  • What is the fastest way to upload 25,000 photos to Atv1

Lately my upload speeds are horribly slow, about 5 normal pics per minute. Nothing is wrong with my internet or wireless modem. I am now using a wireless extender which might be causing the issue. But my question is whether there is a faster way to upload from iTunes on my iMac. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and my photos are on an external drive connected to my network. Is there a way to hard wire the atv1 ro the usb port on the hard drive and upload the photos that way?

  • How to UpLoad a Two Minute Video to Utube?

I'm about to upload a video to Utube for the first time. It's very short - a couple of minutes - and the file size is 863.7 MB. Utube allows a file size up to 2GB. I'm wondering about export format from iMovie. Since the video is so short and under 2 GB, I exported it at Full Quality. Is that going to work on Utube? I just tried to start the upload process onto Utube but it seemed like it was going to take quite a long while. Is that to be expected? I canceled the upload and decided I better ask you.
If I need to export at a different quality level, please advise. Video is HDV. I tried exporting at iMovie's "email" setting (video was way too small) and then the "web streaming" level (video was still pretty small and the resolution wasn't good). So that's why I thought I'd go with "full quality" since it's such a short video.
    Thank you for your help!

.. You didn't mention bit rate in your suggestions, so I went with the default setting. Bit rate has to do with audio quality, correct?
audio, too.. but (much) more important with video (has a bitrate too ... ) :
you can tell a compressor to generate 1000x1000 pixel.. but, if the bitrate is too (s)low, you still get those blocky artifacts.. example: same res, diff. bitrate ..
see the difference? (ok, unrealistic example.. for demonstration only .. )
the LEGO-bricks are NOT due to low res, but due to low bitrate
unfortunately, you can not force the iM-output-engine to specific bitrate.. but you can tell a max. ..
if you want more control, you need other encoders.. (e.g. long-gone VisualHub) ...-
that 'processing' on YT .. imagine, the whole world uploads to them.. avoid the rushhour
and don't forget the trick with &h=1 ...

  • What is the best way to export to achieve clear video for the internet?

Is it best to just use a preset? or are there other ways to get that clear look that you get when you watch the high def mp4 straight out of the app...?
I notice that some video is much more detailed and higher res looking...but when i upload to youtube it doesnt quite look as good...blurry... especially with smaller sizes...
    Any suggestions?
    Thx in advance.

    i agree with you Jim.
    but i didnt do that.
shot at 24p. never went anywhere near 30 for any of it. i exported at 23.987 because i read somewhere that that might be better for web video...cant even remember where...also my exports from AE were all 24p. i guess i will just keep it the same across the board.
i just wander if i use the animation codec out of after effects, full on lossless, if it would improve anythiing for the final render. I used an avid codec for export out of after effects for a better file size for the clips i put into premiere. seemed to work alright. then use h264 playback codec when i exported the final.
there is just such a difference in quality for some of the reels i see. i want that quality. clarity.

I understand, however, you might drown on this one...or get burned...we're mixing metaphors here and I got confused.
What I'm trying to say is that you will be much less frustrated if you get a solid foundation first and then start experimenting.

best way to upload a large 25 minute video and where to?

Just a couple minutes surfing - YouTube only allows 15 minute videos from general users -- to upload larger apparently you have to be a trusted long time source.   There is also a restriction on the file size.
YouTubes help section should give you all the details.
I don't watch online videos - so I just used a query in ASK.Com to get some quick tips.

  • Is there a way to upload video more than 100 mb on...

100 mb is not a lot for a video taken with the N8. I have several videos much larger than this. I would like to upload them on Ovi, but I can't.  Is there a way to upload video more than 100 mb on Ovi?

  • Best and fastest way to export HD Video

What is the best and fastest way to export HD video once I have finished editing it. I shot the footage in 720p30 on an HD camera, now I am just looking for the quickest way to get this out the door, any ideas?

And compressing DVCPRO HD to DVD isn't a quick process. it took me 13 hours for 90 min. With the specs you see below.
But to us, it is worth every minute.
We see a qualitative difference in DVDs whose source is 720/24pn on our component out DVD player to a Fijitsu plasma.
I swear that it is not much different than the original DVCProHD footage out the component of the cam.

  • Fastest way to convert flv videos to a compatible ...

    Hi.
Which is the fastest way to convert flv videos to a compatible format for the E71?

It is goog that you are all providing links here for converters but please avoid posting ones wherein it leads to direclty purchasing various products alone as this will be considered as spamming and is not allowed in the boards.
A fair number of the converters are freeware others are shareware and others let you trial the product either via a short test or watermark . I have posted some that are paid for as well as freeware  but its like mentioning Apple IPhone would that also be classified as spam .Likewise again their are other apps for your phone   if they are not freeware are they classed as spam  if mentioned . Their seems to be no intention of  spamming when asked about a product to do a particular job  and the actual replys fall outside the definition of spamming .If the definition of spam on this board is mentioning paid for applications then the list is long starting with Windows and should not just be applied to this section .
But as their are so many views as what app to use paid for or free then i see the board as being safe from abuse .
