Fatal Error! Acrobat XI Pro, Windows 7

Adobe XI Pro
Windows 7
Was trying to print from PDF to my desk printer which is a HP LaserJet P1006.

We are experiencing the same with one of our computers. We did a silent install using the MSI initially.  Then after this issue we uninstalled the application and installed manually via the setup.exe file.  This did not resolve the issue. (Win7 workstations). Still looking for a fix.

  • Redaction error Acrobat XI Pro Windows

When I mark for redaction on a page and apply the redaction, it is adding the same black marks on every second page from that original redaction, on the same spot on the page, in the rest of the document. However it doesn't actually redact the area in black on the subsequent pages - if there is any text, you can still see it on top of the black marks.

Hi thanks for responding. It was created with the adobe PDF printer installed with acrobat.

  • Acrobat X Pro does not open, gives fatal error - "Acrobat failed to send a DDE command"

Acrobat X Pro does not open and gives fatal error - "Acrobat failed to send a DDE command"
It either does the above or the application starts and is listed in the system processes but never physically opens on the desktop for viewing.

AA 9 will not work for anything but the print function from WORD 2010. The only version of Acrobat that is compatible with OFFICE 2010 for PDF Maker is AA X. Thus, open WORD and print to the Adobe PDF printer. Then open the pdf in Acrobat. Go to FORMS>Add or Edit fields. Since you have no fields at present, Acrobat will ask if you would like to detect form fields. Answer yes and you will get a first cut at the form fields. Yes, you will likely have to add some more and change the ones that Acrobat estimates, but you are on your way.
The other two options you have is to go back to WORD 2007 or earlier or upgrade to AA X (or find someone with AA X and WORD 2010). These methods are pretty much your options with the software combination that you have.

  • Adobe Reader XI - Fatal Error Acrobat failed connect DDE Server

    Hallo zusammen.
    Mein System ist:
    Windows XP SP3
    Adobe Reader XI (11.0.3)
    Outlook 2010
    Exchange 2010
Antivirus: Avast Endpoint Protection Suite Plus
    Fatal Error
Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server.

  • What do i do when I receive Fatal Error Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server

Can I get some help? I can't get the Acrobat XI Pro to open...I get the Fatal Error Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server.

You already setup a discussion for this, no need to create more. It has only been an hour since your last post. Considering this is Sunday, you may have to wait a while, though it really comes down to when someone with an answer happens to stop by. We are just users, not employees of Adobe (that is why it is called a user-to-user forum). I remember seeing posts on this in the past and suggest you do a forum search for past posts. I do not have the solution at hand.
There are several posts under "DDE Server Acrobat Installation" search.

  • Adobe Reader 9.1 - Fatal Error : Acrobat failed to connect a DDE server

    Hi Everyone,
I have some users telling me that when they try to open a pdf attachment in Outlook 2007. Nothing happens. The system just sits there as if you did not click on the attachment. If you wait long enought a popup box from adobe reader comes up and says:
    Fatal Error
Acrobat failed to connect a DDE server.
All the PDFs are very simple, just simple scanned images or converted over from a document into a PDF.
I've tried repairing the install and still had no luck - same behaviour. The only way the pdf opens is if we go into task manager and close the AcroRd32.exe process or logoff and log back in.
If it helps, the most recent system change was the upgrade to IE7 and a new anti-virus software.
    Thanks,
    KEvin

No solution I am afraid but same problem, running full version of AVG and problem hit immediately after Adobe Reader 9.1 upgrade.  Pretty darn sure problem is in the upgrade but the relevant Restore Point was overwritten before I figured it out.  Any advice welcome.

  • Fatal Error Acrobat failed to send a DDE command

Hello all.  I have a fillable form I developed using word 2010.  I am trying to convert it to a PDF form.  I open acrobat and select star from wizard from the Forms menu.  I browse to find the word document and open it.  I save the PDF document and everything looks good.  I get a progress bar that says "Please wait, reading Adobe PDF".  This is very slow progress and then I get the Fatal Error message "Acrobat Failed to send a DDE command".  I click ok and the progress bar continues still very slowly.  I get the same message again.  I click ok and the progress bar continues.  The progress bar gets to the end and just stays there.  Nothing happens.  I waited for an hour and then cancelled it. When clicked cancel, the PDF document opens with my form but without any fillable fields or drop down menus.  I tried to do it again a few times and I get the same error message.   I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 pro version 9.4.2.  Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Can anyone help about updating error-Acrobat 9 Pro

    Hi all,
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2.  In the past, I have had issues with error 1601 - Windows installer could not be accessed - when trying to update Acrobat 9 Pro.  I then uninstalled SP2, and everything updated in Acrobat just fine.  That was about 9 months ago.  since then, updates have been fine in Acrobat.  Now that 9.4.7 has arrived, I am getting the same error.  I have installed 9.4.6 and everthing seemed fine.  Can anyone direct me to getting this resolved?  I am not willing to uninstall SP2 - it just takes too long to reinstall.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kevin

There are many reasons why "automatic" updates may not work
The usual fix is to download and install the updates manually
All Adobe updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • "Not Enough Storage Space" error - Acrobat 9 Pro

    Hey gang,
I get a "not enough storage space" error message when trying to install Acrobat 9 Pro.  I've got administrative rights and I'm trying to install from my local drive.  Any ideas?  Thanks!  I've attached a screen shot of the error message.
    My system particulars:
    Windows 7 Pro (64-bit)
    Acrobat 9 Professional
    8 GB RAM
132 GB free on hard drive
    Thanks again,

I cleaned the Temp directory and rebooted, making sure to kill the processes in the Startup folder.  It went smooth like a gravy sandwich.  Thanks for the help!

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro - Windows Terminal Server 2008

    Hi All,
Im hoping some one maybe able to help me on this, We have recently purchased the Adobe Acrobat X Pro for one of our clients and have just installed it onto their Windows 2008 x32 Terminal server. Inatall appeared to be fine, no errors reported and nothing logged into the event viewer. However we seem to be having issues with it... I did read a PDF guide early last week that said the X Pro should work fine on a Server 2008 - The install instructions where rather straight forward and I thought their would have been more to it than just installing it via the control panel.
The issue we have is the program opens up ok and is usable for about a min and it then crashes with no obvious reason, From looking in the event log it appears to report issues with the PDApp.exe and the Kernel32.dll - Has anyone come across any similar issues?
    Many Thanks

    Hi,
You can also send the crash dump by following the below mentioned steps:
    Install WinDbg from http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx
    Launch WinDbg via the shortcut
    Click File->Open Executable
    Select Acrobat.exe from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe" and hit "OK"
Remember to press "g" and hit enter when you encounter the first breakpoint and then you will see a text "Debuggee is running" and Acrobat will be launched
Open whatever file is it that produces the crash in Acrobat.
When you have successfully reproduced the sceanrio causing the crash/freezing of Acrobat X, enter the below command in the WinDbg terminal
         .dump /ma c:\temp.dmp (Hit enter)
This will produce the crash dump at C:\ by the name of temp.dmp
After that please upload the dump (compress the dump using WinZip or likewise) at some third party sites and provide the link for the same. Also, if it’s possible could you share the PDF as well, for which your application crashes on a consistent basis.
