Fatal error issue in CS4

Can anyone help?
I appreciate this topic has been discussed on forums a few times, but no solutions mentioned have culminated in working for me.
I'm running a G5 Mac Pro desktop with OSX Leopard on 10.5.8 and Creative Suite 4
On opening Photoshop or Illustrator, I try to create or open a file and I get the following error message.
Fatal error - missing component /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.framework
I've since completely reinstalled CS4 having properly (as far as I know) uninstalled old versions.
It hasn't helped. Still same message.
Tried deleting preferences, no luck.
Tried to use the Adobe Cleanup tool – the only one I could find to download wasn't installable on my Mac. Don't know why – just get a 'no entry' symbiol over the icon. Normally means it's been created for a newer mac. Is there an older version of the clean-up tool I wonder?
Anyway I'm now stuck.
Short of completely restoring my Mac OSX and completely starting from scratch, Really, really don't want to do that.
Any ideas?

A bit more info on this. May be connected?
I also tried updating CS using the Adobe updater to take Photoshop from v11 to 11.0.2 and am finding this update simply won't run. Just constant errors which are not explained. So frustrating!

  • 1603 fatal error during installation-L7680 all in one printer

I continue to get this error because the installation finds newer software and quits.  I have completed the MSI error 1603 solution 16 page paper for windows XP and was unsuccessful.  I then used CCleaner to clean all registry errors, and that still didn't work.
Is there a quick fix to get past this error and install the latest scanner software on the HP site?  I can print with this printer, but can not see it on the network nor use the scanner.

  • PhotoShop CS4 Fatal Error on Mac

Hi,  Can anyone help with Photoshop CS4 issue on Mac OS 10.6.8?
Getting— 'Fatal Error' missing component/library/applications/adobe version cue CS4/client4.0.0/version cue.framework  —  message when I try to open a file
Before this, with the help of Gene7 i was able to re-activate with license recovery. Worked until I tried to open a file. Updates seem current...
    Thank you.

That library is missing. You need to reinstall the application (and updates) to replace the missing files.
Most likely this is because you used Apple's "migration" tool, which doesn't copy all support files needed by applications.

  • Version Cue CS4 Missing, Fatal Error!!! (Mac OS)

I bought the PS CS4 for OSX alone, without the suite. Although I figured that this would be great and all and everything would work. Although what I learned is that without buying the suite you dont get a copy of version cue. Okay, Im thinking this is fine and all, untill I then start up Photoshop and start a new image, at which point Im greeted with this error:
    Fatal error - missing component
The complete error message is in the picture
I checked out the forums and found help on disabling the options for versioncue, although they didnt help at all and the issue is still there.
Please help, I have to get PS working for my job, and Adobe Support wont help me.

That is not true at all, Michael.
I have never bought any version of the suite, and the Adobe Version Cue support files have been installed by Photoshop 10.x and 11.x.
For some reason you have a bad install.
Try using the Adobe Uninstaller to uninstall Photoshop 11.  Then Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility.  Then install Photoshop, and Repair Permissions once again.
DO NOT move the Photoshop icon, nor the Photoshop folder from the default install location in the root Applications folder.
Once you're up and running, apply all available updates.
If you're still having problems after that, please give details about your machine, OS, etc.

  • Migrated to new iMac- CS4 gives fatal error

I used the migration assistant to move files and apps from my old laptop to a new iMac that is running Mac OS X 10.7.2. WHen I try to open a file in Photoshop I get the following error:
    fatal Error- missing component
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.framework
I saw some posts about Version Cue etc but I'm not sure what is what with that. I tried to uninstall and I get an errro message so I can't even do that now. I am stuck.
    Thanks for your help.

LMGehling honestly I would recommend starting from the beginning again.  Some of the worst support issues I have experienced with customers is when they have used the Migration Assistant/EZ transfer type solutions.  The migration should go a lot faster if you tell it to only transfer settings and documents.
You can try manually removing the items related to Adobe on your system.  They should primarily be located in the following locations:
    Library/Application Support/Adobe
    User/<UserName>/Library Application Support/Adobe
    Applications/
    Applications/Utilities/Adobe/Adobe Installers

  • Encore CS4 bluray error: fatal error, code "6" Internal error m_ptsOfNextGOPis empty

I am using Encore CS4 4.0.1 (the latest version from what I can see) on Mac OSX 10.6.3
I am on a Mac Pro 1,1 with 2 2GHz Xeon Dual Core Processors
I have 5 GB of Ram
The Mac has the standard Nvidia 7300GT.
I have successfully created several BD and DVDs and nothing has changed.
I have a 1080 50i BD h.264 project with 2 hour 37 minute timeline and I am looking to create an h.264 BD 25 image. The project has two menus: a main menu with two buttons and a chapter selection menu with 7 buttons. Check project reveals no issues with anything.
I have searched the forum and tried the various solutions I found such as disc name, etc. The name is all in capitals with no spaces.
I googled and found msxml problems/solutions and other such things related to windows that do not apply to me as I am on Mac.
I get the following error at the very end of the build process:
Encore CS4 bluray error: fatal error, code "6" Internal error m_ptsOfNextGOPis empty
Any ideas? Hope I gave enough information. Thanks in advance

I do not know exactly what the problem was with the menu. I am assuming the menu was the problem because when I created a new encore project with the same video, audio and photo assets but with new menus there was no problem. I think that at the time I read there some people were having a problem with the template I originally used for my menus so I simply built a new menu from scratch in PS CS3. I think the original menu was party menu hd.
Sorry if that is vague but it worked so I did not look any further into the problem and I have not had any recurrence.

  • Photoshop CS4:Fatal error

This pops up when I open my Photoshop CS4:
Fatal error - missing component: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.framework.
Any ideas on what i can do? happens when I open a project.
    Thanks

Ok, after reading tons of threads trying to get a simple answer here are the main points:
You do not need to reinstall anything.
Locate a backup , Time Machine or anyplace where you may have a backup of your Adobe Suite Install.
In both Locations( Hard Drive and Backup) Navigate to: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Adobe Version Cue CS4 > Client
Once there you will see your problem Adobe is looking for  folder named 4.0.0 and you have 4.0.1
Fix: Find the backup and copy over folder named "4.0.0" , Problem solved!
Open up Adobe Photoshop CS4 and problem should be fixed.
    Observations:
Upon inspecting folder 4.0.1, I did notice there were exactly 5 (.framework) files just like in folder 4.0.0 with the exception of 4.0.0 having a "Dictionaries" folder. where 4.0.1 has this folder missing. I am not sure how important this particular folder may be, However if by any chance you do not have a backup It might be possible to just change the 4.0.1 folders name to 4.0.0. and this just might work, In theory that is . Good Luck!

    Hi,
I have a new Macbook Pro. I transfered all my programs, including Photoshop CS4 extended, from my old Macbook to the new one. Whenever I try working on...ANYTHING, I get the following message, and then CS4 closes:

You must precisely follow the instructions on the download page, otherwise you'll get a 404 instead of access to the files. The download page has countless comments from people who don't follow instructions and get a 404.

  • CS4 Fatal error- missing component

I just recently transferred my CS4 onto my new Mac desktop. Now, everytime I open CS4 I get the following message, Fatal error - missing component. I can push ok, and go onto my editing in phohtoshop,
but once I try to save or save as any kind of file, it tells me, can not complete your request because of a photoshop error. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

If I un-instsall and reinstall the app will I still have it on my computer, or will I need the serial number or anything, or will my computer still recognize it?
I just don't want my CS4 to get lost, and I'm afraid I might not be able to find my serial # I have for my photoshop to reinstall. Not sure what reinstalling consists of.

  • "Fatal Error" message in Photoshop CS4

Whenever I open a photo I recieve a message that says: "Fatal error - missing component /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.framework"
What do I do to fix this?

There are two versions of the plug-in in the Goodies folder, 32-bit and 64-bit. Each has the same name (why?) but sits in a separate folder. Each goes in the appropriate folder on your System drive. I would do both, regardless of which version of Photoshop you use now.
This is shown in the two screen shots below.
