Fatal error while updating to 10.2

Hi,
I got a brand new Q5 - no apps other than default and there is plenty of memory available (more than the software update size). I am trying to update the device software using BBLink. While updating, it gives me an error "Fatal Unrecoverable error".
I also can't seem to setup the Blutooth device connection between my Q5 and my desktop.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Given the error you receive, I would first check to be sure you have the most recent version of LINK. Failing that, I would attempt to use the Sachesi method of updating. Failing that as well, I would revert to using an AutoLoader to see if it can accomplish what LINK cannot do. Do be aware that an AutoLoaders are completely destructive to your device data...be sure you have a full backup as well as full manual documentation of your configuration.

been using 8330 curve since 6 months, now can't live without my mails on handheld,
certainly push mail and features Iam back to life and business.
but i've a bug report, this hapened twice in two days giving me hours of mail interupptions, thank god it was weekend.
everytime i connect to Desktop Manager(latest version), I get prompt for available updates.
when i start installing it, it fails with a fatal error
I noticed the desktop manager while trying to update the core software turned radio and services off (during backup i think)
but upon fail it didn't revived the service.
Contacted my Operator and they suggested a Hard Reboot, did it many times, phone worked but without BB services,
after many battery pulls sent services books again from myoperator.blackberry....
contact my operator and they suggested hard reboot everytime, or doubted it to be a network outage while it was a bug.
After 8 hours i tried the soft reboot using key combination and WOW it worked. The BB services got restored and mails started coming again.
Iam sure the issue can be replicated and there should be some option available in DM, or update software to re-connect the BB services when a update fails as its very frustrating to get off your mail box and operator may take hours before they figure out what the case.
tech details of my soft.
BB 8330 (CDMA)
v4.5.0.66 (platform 3.2.0.48)
Desktop manager 4.7 with media manager.
If there's a place to submit a bug report or a enhancement request i've a few more things to suggest.

check in control panel- add/remove programs.... check if you see Blackberry device software 4.5.x.x
if you dont, this means your carrier is pushing the update to you through the internet
to do this manually, what I would do is download the latest 4.5.0.x software from your carriers site, install it to windows
then dont use deaktop manager, go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
run loader.exe and install the update that way

Fatal error while updating!!!

I was updating my software using the desktop manager. At the end it said a fatal error occured and to try again. Now it says there is nothing to update, my laptop can't see my device is connected, my blackberry won't do anything but double blink the red light otherwise it looks off and won't do anything. I'm worried I've crashed it and my phone has been wiped... HELP?

Very good, nice. I would recommend you LEAVE that file where it is.
At the same time, copy it and place it elsewhere on your PC with another name, like "importantbackup.ipd" maybe on your desktop for now. (right click, select COPY) then go to where you want to put the copy (right click paste).
So, your BB will not reboot at all. And you can't re-run the web update service?
Try disconnecting from the USB, close the Desktop Manager and close the Web Update service and then go back through all the motions again. Try it was you did before.
Does DM connect or the Web Update service recognize the BB?
If yes, proceed.
If not, post back and we'll take another route.
What the EXACT model of your curve? 8300, 8310, ?

Fatal Error while updating Curve 8310 from 4.2.2 to 4.5.

So, I try to install the 4.5 on my phone...
It connects, wipes the phone, installs new software...but whenever it starts to install modules, it fails towards the end of the first one.
Always.
Any help?

Can't even restore back to the original backup system ? it is looping

force the phone into recovery mode:
restart the phone. (hold down sleep and hold button for 10 secs)
when the screen goes blank: release the sleep button. but keep keep the home button pressed down.
then plug the iphone connector. keep holding the home button and the phone will go into recovery mode. this can take up to a few minutes.

you know the recovery mode has been successful because the message will come up in iTunes.
if using recovery mode does not fix your problem take it into an Apple store and let them have a look at it.

I personally would make a copy of your iphone backup if your phone is playing up:
(note that apple does not recommend these files to be tampered with. so please be careful)

Fatal Error while installing

I recently purchased a second itouch for my daughter and when I plugged it in to my computer it required that I download 9.2. I already had an existing version of itunes on my PC. While installing it stated "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor". Then it continues to download Quicktime. The itunes icon appears on my desktop but when I click it I receive the "Fatal Error while Installing message". I have uninstalled/reinstalled, created a new user account on my PC, updated my Windows service pack. Nothing seems to solve this problem, now I can't even sync the other ipods I have. Any idea how to fix this so I can get itunes back to working?

I followed the instructions in the exact order as they appeared. I get the following error:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
When I click "OK" it continues to install Quicktime and that completes properly. Then it tells me itunes has been successfully installed. The itunes icon appears on my desktop, but when I click it, it goes through what appears to be a windows configuration setup, but then gives me the same message I was getting before: "Problem with shortcut: Fatal error during installation". Someone had suggested on another post to use Firefox instead of IE to download itunes, but that hasn't worked for me either.
This is so frustrating, we have three itouch ipods in this house and we cant sync or add music to any of them since this occurred. I really appreciate your assistance.

Hi,
in BAM-Administrator you should rraise Parameter "MaxResultBlocks".
BAM originaly is al licensed Software from Group1 named "Sagent Data Flow".
This may help searching the web.

I'm not a Cisco employee, so I can't do anything with your backup.!
You need to take a backup as a precaution (You should have been doing this anyway) Then you need to call Cisco TAC to get the underlying problem fixed. CalManager is a locked-down environment, and only TAC can get the low-level access needed to fix database problems.

Hello Bhaskar,
is the transport already approved?
If not approve it and try it again. (also it is a local one)
If not check the objects and unlock them manually the following way:
SE03 => Unlock Objects (Expert Tool)
But if you approve your transport... the objects should be unlocked.
