Fatal System Error C200021A OCX C0000005

My T500 just started crashing this past Sat. It is only approx. 10 mos. old and had been working fine.
I boots to my logins. I login and after a minute or so it crashes. It will also crash if I leave it at my logins screen.
It can just be idle and it crashes.
I have had the hardware check ed and it is fine.
I would very much appreciate hearing if anyone has heard or seen this error before.
Thanks in Advance

I started getting this error about 2 weeks ago on my Thinkpad T400. I am running Win XP. First time, it just blue screened in the middle of working. I ran the full PC doctor diagnostic from ThinkVantage (about 6 hours!) and no errors. I restored from a backup from mid. November. It worked for a few days and then happened again. I restored a newer backup and it crashed again on the first re-boot. Went back to the older backup and crash has happened now 2 more times, both after installing a Windows update in shutdown and then rebooting. I am also suspecting the Windows update, and since I am restoring an older Win version, it keeps trying to update.
My last resort is to restore from factory and rebuild the whole computer, but that takes days and I ma not sure it will even fix the problem...

  • Installing drivers for Windows XP leads to "fatal system error"

    Hello,
I am trying to install the drivers for Windows XP on my new MacBook, using boot camp from my Mac OS X install cd (version 10.6.3). The option comes up for me to either "repair" or "remove" drivers. I clicked on repair, and after about 5 min of smooth installing, the screen went blue and said that there had been a "fatal system error".
I also tried removing the boot camp, and then repairing and the same thing happened. I was glad to find that everything on the Mac side of my computer is still working fine.
Is there anything else I can try to install the drivers successfully?
    Thank you!!
P.S. I just noticed that my MacBook is running OSX 10.6.4, but the install cd that came with my Mac says it's OSX 10.6.3. Do you think that could have something to do with the problem?

  • OK - sorry - STOP: c000021a Fatal System Error : Help me help my girlfriend!

Ok - you've probably seen this before.  Basically, my girlfriend was working at her laptop whereupon it suddenly gave her this error.  She doesn't know what she was doing immediately prior to this event, and now it gives her this message whenever she attempts to log on.  It seems to happen literally just before the box pops up asking for her login info. I'm basically trying to retrieve her files for her. (or salvage the entire thing - although this appears increasingly unlikely!).  Here is a list of what I have tried to do...
(This was originally intended as a letter for someone who is a lot better than me with computers, but the girlfriend forgot to drop the computer off last time she was in the city - we live in the sticks.)

    Computer gets fatal system error c000021a status of 0x00000000( 0x00000000, 0x00000000 )
Tried to load up through safe mode, etc, same blue screen.
Tried the restore cd but it said it was the wrong one for this particular machine. However, by validating with the restore cd I'm able to access the OS set up screen.
From here, I tried to do a windows repair. Repair seemed to complete successfully, but I still got the blue screen on boot.
I then tried going through the recovery console with the intention of copying her files to a memory stick before reformatting. It seems I needed to set a number of variables, (eg. allowallpaths and allow removable media). However, I was unable to use the 'set' command (eg. Set allowremovablemedia =TRUE) since set is disabled. It seems that the security policy needs to be changed, but that this can only be done through windows rather than the recovery console. You can change it through the registry if you can infact access and change registry values from the recovery console.
After this, I did a chkdsk /p which revealed some errors, which I repaired (chkdsk /r), but this still had no effect.
I also tried to do automated system recovery but it wanted the asr disk inserted into the a: which I don't think we have. I was expecting it to allow me to specify a drive to save a backup to (hence use a memory stick), but again, I think this might only be possible from within windows. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other thing to note is she is running service pack 2 (she thinks).  I know this is SP3 forum, but I was pointed in this direction!
ANy help would be much appreciated.  I've been searching the web for about 3 days for a solution, and plus I can't seem to find anywhere helpful with the exact same error message.

    Rfrf
that error code means Bug Check 0xC000021A: STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED.  A restore wont fix it but a clean instal from the OS CD'S would.  Does she have the OS cd's?  Does she have a backup?  Can she boot into safe mode (F8??)?

  • Fatal System Error

I was downloading a program that wanted to also install a version of MySQL (I believe that this is the problem, although I don't know for sure) - as soon as it installed, this message appeared:
    "STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x0000000)
    The system has been shutdown"
and the entire system shut down. When I restart XP, I get about two seconds before the error message appears and the whole thing shuts down again. I don't even know what's causing it, let alone how to get enough time to fix it. After a few restarts, Windows won't even load - it just goes to a black screen.
Also, the Boot Camp partition has disappeared from the Mac side. I can choose the Windows partition at startup, but it is no longer accessible from the Mac side.
Please help, I am at my wit's end, and I really don't want to wipe and restart the whole process.

Okay ... if you have your XP installation CD, you could try booting from that into the Recovery Console:
[Description of the Windows XP Recovery Console for advanced users|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058]
That allows you a few diagnostic functions, although I'm not an expert in using those particular functions. A chkdsk /r might be worth a try, though, on the off chance that this is just a damaged file or folder (or piece of disk).

  • Boot Camp STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}

I was restarting my Mac Pro using Bootcamp and the following blue screen message displays:
    Boot Camp STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x0000135 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.
I am running Lion and Windows XP - I have been using this setup successfully for months.
I have tried putting both the Windows XP disc and the OSX disc (Snow Leopard - upgraded to Lion from an App download) in the drive, holding down the 'c' key (to allow the machine to boot from the dvd drive) but it just goes to a black screen and switches off.
Any help to boot up my MacPro would be very much appreciated - I would be happy just to boot it up normally without Windows.
    Thanks,
    May

Upgrade to Windows 7 (or 8) is really a good idea if you want support, security, better use of resources.
You restarted into Windows (*Boot Camp does not run - anything)
Lion does not support XP but that just means you had it before.
No idea but I can't tell if XP And Lion are on the same hard drive (they should not if possible).
You should make bootable backups of your OS (both).
    Pull your hard drives.
    Boot into Lion Recovery.
Maybe you have a virus or hardware issue, it is impossible to know.

  • X301 displays fatal system error

Hello, Just got a new x301. Have only set up two user profiles and used internet once. After trying to start computor I get the c000021a fatal system error message. Thanks for any help.

Database is SQLServer located on network.
Yes, the database responds (the software works correctly)
The problem is that I no longer get the "updates and extras" page (for lack of a better description).  On one of the machines updated from sp3 to sp4 if I repair the sp4 it will work a time or two and then it stops working giving a internet connection not detected.  It's like it tries to connect to the internet then it stops.  IT dept says that the computers are able to access the internet (which they are), and nothing is blocked (no restrictions).  We use MicroTrend and Websense is the filter.
On initial repairs (or just as soon as I finish the repair) and upon restarting Crystal Reports, Websense will give an error saying that businessobjects is blocked.  after 5 minutes or so I can restart CR and it will work fine.  Then later on in the day, it will stop working and show the internet connect not detected and then after several more minutes it will show the fatal system error.  But, the program runs and works fine and all queries respond with accurate data.

  • TL2100 system error troubelshooting

    Hello,
    i'm having a multitude of problems with a TL2000 with 2 x LTO4 SAS drives.
    The starting condition is:
Library reports "system error D7", both drives also report error and have a tape inside them but library reports them as unknown and doesn't ejects them(returns SCSI command error), there's nothing connected to the library btw.
To eject the cartirdges i had to disassemble the sled and connect the drives to an external PSU, simply pushing the eject button ejected the tapes correctly, one is a cleaning tape(which is odd as they should autoeject), one is a data tape.
Both drives after powering up stay with an "E" in the 7 segment display(which according to IBM manual means "fiber channel error" which is funny as these are SAS drives....).
Updated the library FW to see if it's solved from C00 to C30, no avail, same errors.
I can't update the drive FW from the web as they return SCSI error.
connected one sled at the time, swapped places, all same error, sled fans are also running at deafening speeds.
There's no overtemp, everything is clean inside.
This is an excerpt of the last 3 items in the event log:

Last night I was working fine on my computer when all of a sudden Photoshop wouldn't open files right. I quite out of Photoshop (slow)
Then tried to quit out of everything else (slow) and finally shut down holding the Power button down. I waited a few minutes and tried to reboot.
It was REALLY slow starting back up. (about 15 to 20 minutes). I held the Power key down to turn it off and left it overnight hoping it would figure itself out by morning.
This am the same start up problem happened. I finally got it opened and manuvered to Disk Utility.
    IT GAVE ME THIS MESSAGE
This drive has reported a Fatal Hardware Error to Disk utility.
If the drive has not failed completely, Back up as much as you can and
then replace it with a working drive.
HERE IS WHAT I DID EARLIER IN THE EVENING THAT I THINK MADE IT WACKY.
I hadn't installed SUITCASE X1 yet and was using the program Font Book that comes with the computer. It wasn't satifactory so I went ahead and installed Suitcase X1.
FONT BOOK kept showing a ton of open faces.
I carefully (or so I thought) went through Font Books "All fonts" window and got rid of fonts that I didn't see in the system fonts folder. (I think this is where I really may have screwed up)
FYI I am a graphic designer and use many fonts.
I store all the design fonts in a folder in USERS > SHARED> FONTS
I directed SUITCASE to "Manage system fonts"
Every thing was working fine for a few hours.
I was working in QUARK 6 easily and listening to a Podcast. No problems.
When I went to open PHOTOSHOP, it (Photoshop) started running very slow.
and all the things I mentioned above started to happen.
I have the OS10.4 install disk with me so I tried to boot from it.
(I thought maybe it had a utility on it to help fix things or maybe I could copy any important fonts that I accidently trased
(btw do you hold down OPTION C to boot from a CD or APPLE C?
    I tried them all)
I couldn't get it to boot from the CD
Have I really wrecked my computer?
Do we think it's a font problem.
Can I fix it. I'm at the beach in NC and there's no techys around!!!!
I am currently typing this email on the laptop so it's not completely dead.
Just super slow and threatening to die.
    What should I do??!!!
Did I mention today is my birthday?
    PowerbookG4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

It's either OPTION or C. Unfortunately, the Install CD doesn't give you much access to file operations (no Finder) as Mac OS 9 and earlier did.
If you could start it in Target Disk Mode and mount the drive on another Mac, or boot it from an external drive with a Mac OS X installation on it you could try to recover files that aren't already backed up.

    Hi Vj,
Please check the SAP notes as below, which seems to be relevant for your issue.
    Assign points it useful.....
    Symptom
There are errors in Business Explorer components such as Analyzer, Browser, Form Reporting, Web Application Designer, Query Designer, Map, OLE DB for OLAP Provider
    Solution General information
This note contains information about BW 3.0A front end patch 3. Here, you will find the most important information on:
    Installation
    Error corrections
    New features
Additional general information that is not specifically for this BW front end patch.
    Procedure
Downloading BW front end patches via FTP from sapserv
Downloading a BW front end patch via Online Correction Support (SAPnet)
    Preparing the Installation Server
    Checking the Installation Server
    Installation on PC
    Checking the PC
Problems during the installation of the BW front end Patch
Distributing a patch per script (for administrators only)
    Installation
During the installation of the BW front end patch, note the following:
    (This area is constantly updated)
The BW 3.0A front end patch 3 is based on the SAP GUI 6.10 Presentation CD 1 (6.10 Final Compilation 3, material number 50051811) and the SAP GUI 6.10 patch 12 or higher.
The BW 3.0A front end patch 3 contains all files, to convert a BW 2.0B/2.1C front end into a BW 3.0A front end.
The BW 3.0A front end is downward-compatible to BW 2.0B/2.C.Thus, it can also be used on BW 2.0B/2.1C backend systems.
When you use the Web Application Designer, implement at least BW 3.0A Support Package 03 (see note 425995).
    Error corrections
This BW front end patch corrects the following errors in particular:
    in SAP Business Explorer Analyzer
Displaying document links on filter cells and text elements
Improved performance for low-speed connections (WAN)
Bug:Incorrect language when starting documents in the Web browser (refer to note 450200)
Bug:Import of missing styles does not import the color palette anymore (refer to note 450194)
Bug:Various problems during the server logon as of Release 2.0 (incorrect list of Goto destinations, incorrectly indented hierarchy symbols...)
Bug: Starting jump destinations in the Web does not work
    in BEx Query Designer
The system does not correctly interpret characteristics that were selected as being unique in each cell and when it checks these characteristics, it mistakenly reports them as being defined non-uniquely.
After you called the cell editor, you had to press the toolbar buttons twice to call the required function.
In the cell editor, you could change the formula cells but not the formulas of the columns or of the rows because the system displayed all references to other columns or rows as 25 digit numbers.
When you use Save as ... for queries with formula cells, these cells are not copied.
When you used the Save as ... function for queries with cells, the copied query sometimes displayed the message "Brain 299 SAPLRRI2 Form CELL_FUELLEN_ACELL-01-" when it was executed.
When you used the Save as ... function for queries with formula cells, these cells were not copied.
    in Variable Editor
Formula variables that were replaced with the "To" value in intervals, were displayed without the "To" selection when you changed them.
    in SAP Business Explorer Browser
Drag&Drop of Japanese file names on Japanese WinNT computers is now supported
Temporary files are automatically deleted when the BEx Browser is exited
    New features
New features delivered with this BW front end patch:
    SAP Business Explorer Analyzer
Delete function in dialog "Open -> Views"
Displaying documents for text elements and filter values
Now the BW front end is installed in a separate program folder in the start menu. The folder is called 'Business Explorer'.The setup only allows you to change the name of the folder of the SAP front end.
    Procedure
    1. Downloading the BW front end patch via FTP or SAPnet
    2. Preparing and checking the installation server
    3. Installing and checking on the PC
Note that you cannot install a BW front end patch directly on a PC (also see the 'Distribution of a patch by script' section).
The check of every step with SAPBEXC.XLA avoids unnecessary subsequent problems.
Downloading BW front end patches via FTP from sapserv
Downloading patches from the sapserv is described in note 96885, "Downloading a front end patch from SAPSERVx".
The BW 3.0A front end patches and the SAP GUI 6.10 patches are in the directory
       sapservX/general/frontend/patches/rel610/Windows/Win32
The file name of the BW front end patch is
BW30A_n.EXE (where 'n' is the number of the BW front end patch)
The file name of the SAP GUI patch is
GUI610_n.EXE (where 'n' is the number of the SAP GUI patch)
In general, you can use the highest existing SAP GUI patch. The above-mentioned number of the SAP GUI patch is the minimum requirement.
Downloading a BW front end patch via Online Correction Support (SAPnet)
You can also download BW front end patches in the SAPnet. The URL for the SAP Online Correction Support is:
       http://service.sap.com/swcenter-main
After you select SAP BW/SAP BW 3.0A/Binary Patches/SAP GUI for Windows 6.10/Win32 in the tree on the right side, the SAP Download Area appears on the left side.
Here you can select BW30A.EXE and, if necessary, GUI610.EXE for downloading.
In general, you can use the highest existing SAP GUI patch. The above-mentioned number of the SAP GUI patch is the minimum requirement.
    Preparing the Installation Server
The installation of patches on the installation server is described in note 361222. Follow the instructions in this note.
A BW front end patch contains all files from the previous patches, so that you only need to install the latest patch.
    Checking the Installation Server
Note 197460, "BW front end Checktool sapbexc.xla", describes how easily and quickly you can check the installation server.
    Installation on PC
The BW front end patch is installed by executing the SAP GUI setup. In the setup, you must select the BW add-ons component to install the BW front end.
See also the section distribution of a patch per script.
    Checking the PC
Note 197460, "BW front end Checktool sapbexc.xla", describes how simple and fast the local installation checks a PC
The local execution of SAPBEXC.XLA is necessary if you sent problems to the SAP Support (see note 142705).The status of a PC can be checked with the result of SAPBEXC.XLA.
Problems during the installation of the BW front end patch
If problems occur during the installation of the BW front end patches, you should install the BW front end patch again and use the following method for this:
First, remove the BW front end with "Remove" menu option under "SAP front end" from your local PC.
Afterwards you can install the front end programs again with the setup program of your setup server. The setup program has been delivered with the front end CD.You must have administrator rights on the local PC.During the setup, no other programs (for example, Excel) should run.
Certain programs save information on OLE components in special files. These files are not updated automatically during a new installation, therefore, when you change the OLE component during the installation, old information may remain in the system. We recommend you delete all files with the extensions ".EXD" and ".OCA" before you carry out the new installation.
Distributing a patch per script (for administrators only)
There is a large number of products for the distribution of software (for example, Microsoft SMS, IBM Tivoli, NetSupport NetInstall), so that no individual Support is possible when you use SAP and BW.There are two general notes about the front end installation (153341 and 194859), to which the system also refers.
The following remarks are intended for administrators who want to distribute a BW front end patch with such a software.
A BW front end patch consists of several files in different directories. These directories correspond to the directories on the installation server or on the CD.The files are usually distributed into the following directories on the local PC:
    c:\program files\common files\sap\system
    c:\program files\sappc
    c:\winnt\system32 or c:\windows\system
In the sapbexc.xla file on the "Version" tab, there are notes about where the file must be copied to and whether it must be registered.
For the preparation of a script, first you should make a normal installation on a local PC from the installation server which must be checked with sapbexc.xla (see note 197460).Afterwards you can localize the corresponding directory of a file using this PC.In general, each DLL and each OCX must be registered if it can be registered. After the installation per script, a deinstallation may no longer work, therefore, before registering a file with regsvr32.exe <Path\File>, you should execute the script for an unregistration with regsvr32.exe /U <path\file>.
Currently, the sapbexc.xla checktool may not be able to recognize certain installation errors (copy without registrations) (see note 206609).
SAP offers support for problems with incorrect scripts for distributing patches.
    Best Regards,
    DMK

  • Disk Utility Reporting Fatal Hardware Error

    Hello all,
I woke up this morning to the flashing folder with a question mark in it on my MacBook. I know that that means the system can't find the OS so I assumed that my hard drive had magically failed overnight. So I turned my computer off and then rebooted and everything loaded properly. I went into Disk Utility and my main hard drive that has OS X on it is highlighted in red and when I click on it, Disk Utility only displays "This drive has reported a fatal hardware error to Disk Utility. If the drive has not failed completely, back up as much data as you can and then replace it with a working drive."
I have noticed EXTREMELY sluggish performance by my computer in these past two days which has required me to force quit programs and force shut down the system more times than I've had to in the whole time I've had this computer. Could this be a side effect of the failing drive?
I'm backing everything up right now, but I'm wondering how accurate Disk Utility is. The drive that I have in here is a non-Apple-installed 250 GB Western Digital that's been in here for nearly a year. Is it possible that the drive is failing beyond repair already? If so, is there any way to see the full extent of the damage and attempt to repair it before I go out and buy a new hard drive to replace it with?
Thanks for all the help and the fast responses!

    yes, it could.

    yes, it's quite possible.

check the SMART status in disk utility as suggested. if it says anything but "verified" it means that the drive is expected to fail completely and you shouldn't try to repair it. If it says "verified" It's possible that reformatting will fix it so you can try that. this will wipe all the data on it so clone it off first as gbullman suggested. BTW, most drives come with manufacturers warranty longer than a year and you should be able to replace the drive. that's what I would recommend.
