It's in the Australian Holiday Calendar so just a bug in the US version I suppose. Tell Apple feedback
Or if it is making your life unbearable then file a bub report  Report Bug

  • Holidays Calendar - Missing Father's Day

I am very happy that the 7.1 release included U.S. holidays in the calendar! However, I noticed that Father's Day isn't one of them (but Mother's Day is). Is this a glitch? Did they just forget to add it in?

    They probably forgot it.
Tell Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html. There are only users here.

  • With the latest software update, when the calendar is improved with holidays, why wasn't Father's Day recognized as a holiday?, With the latest software update, when the calendar is improved with holidays, why wasn't Father's Day recognized as a holiday?

Why wasn't Father's Day recognized as a holiday on the calendar? It's one day after flag day in June.......REALLY, don't fathers matter at all? I guess the world is like my household, fathers don't matter unless we miss a day of work!

I had to double check why people would report it missing if it isn't. I just returned from the Apple Store and Father's Day is missing from their iPads running IOS 7.1.1. too. I guess the why will remain one of life's many mysteries.

  • Father's Day in the calendar...

My iPad and iPhone does not show Father's Day in the calendar when I turn the US Holidays on... It shows Mother's Day along with all the other random holidays (Lincoln's bday, Palm Sunday, etc.) Anyone know why?

Father's Day apparently is not as important as Mother's Day.
I was bummed to find out. Not that I care about the date and look forward to it every year, but it is still a poor oversight on Apple part and Apple has yet make attempt to fix it.  Actually, I was surprise this is an Apple over-sight because Apple is usually attentive to details.

  • How come Father's Day and Chanukah are not included in calendar?

How come Father's Day and Chanukah are not included in calendar?

Make sure you are entering events on an iCloud calendar, and not the On My iPhone (iPad) calendar or on a calendar from an external account such as Gmail (Google), Yahoo, or and exchange account.  Only your iCloud calendar will sync with iCloud.

  • Is there a sale for father's day?

Is there a sale for the ipad for father's day?

Apple will sell the iPad for the same price as it did on Mother's Day (and yesterday, today and tomorrow).

  • Days missing from list view if no event entered in iCal

if i have no event entered on a particular day, the list view of iCal doesn't display the day. how can i still see the day in list view?

The List view reveals the day/days with an event scheduled only. If there isn't an event scheduled for a particular day, that day will not be shown when using List view.
The List view is a list of scheduled events only.

  • Two days missing on iCal

Two days on my iCal have become blank and I am unable to even add new events on those days. When viewed in the week or month view, the entire week and month are blank. Any idea what is going on and how I can fix it?

    Greetings Josh,
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
    3. Test iCal
    If the issue persists:
    1. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    2. Launch iCal and test.
    Hope that helps.

  • Add a holiday (Father's Day) to subscribed calendar

Today while I was updating and cleaning up my calendars in iCal, I selected Show Holidays calendar (Calendar > Preferences > General Tab > check box). So far this is great and easy.
Then I looked at what holidays were included. All normal US holidays, except Fathers' Day. It is a valid Federal holiday celebrated every year on the third Sunday in June.
This calendar from "Apple" should include it. Mother's day (second Sunday in May) is included.
    What gives? Please fix!

I noticed that too. I sent feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html.

  • Time of day missing in iCal

I am using iCal 2.1 and the hour times do not show in the left column in week view. Noon is present, but no others. The dates disappeared after I upgraded to 10.4 this summer. Another computer on the home network running the same versions have the times showing.
I set up a new user, went into iCal and the dates show. All my prefs are the same in the "my account" and the "new user".
I am suspecting that there is corrupted prefs file of some sort, but I am reluctant to just delete files without knowing which one.
    Any suggestions?

There are three iCal related plist files (at least on my computer) for each user. They are located in ~/Library/Preferences:
    com.apple.iCal.plist
    com.apple.iCal.helper.plist
    com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist
To determine if these plist files are causing the problem don't delete them, but simply move them to a convenient location (e.g. Desktop). Quit iCal before you do this. Then reopen iCal and see if the times are back. If yes then you know the plist(s) was the source of your problem. If not then I suppose you can move the plists back.
    Hope that works for you.

  • Thank you BB for destroying a FATHER'S day SURPRISE gift

I am so angry right now, I'm ready to return the Playbook I just bought. We received a welcome message when I registered the Playbook which I deleted from our joint email acct so that my husband wouldn't see it before tomorrow. But little did I know there would be MORE!!!!! And that he would see them. I am just sooooo mad. I was frigging supporting this f-ing company with my purchase and the over enthusiastic people at BB OVERDO their welcome! I can't speak anymore and it's not my fault for using a joint email address it's BB fault for trying too hard. GDI.
    Solved!

Ya, ya, okay. I was wrong. And okay I won't turn my back on RIM. Glad to hear it's a good device. Hubby is using it now. Again, thanks -some of you- for letting me vent.

  • Father's Day Gift hits snag, can you help?

I have every photo and video clip and title on the timeline. I am reviewing it all before I add transitions and music.
The Ken Burns "photo settings" preview has a black screen and will not allow for adjustments of any of my photos in the timeline. I have emptied my trash and have no background programs running.
How can I troubleshoot this problem? Thanks a million!

As far as I remember - and have just tested it - the Ken Burns "adjustment" screen shows black if you didn't use Ken Burns to import the photo(s) in the first place.
..I'm just trying to think how to adjust "non-Ken-Burns" photos, but, er, what exactly do you want to do with your photos ..adjust the duration, or something?
You can easily cut them shorter (..if they're, say, 5:00 seconds long..) by simply playing any of them and stopping and cutting them, as you would with a video clip.
If you want to lengthen the duration of a photo, you could simply select it and click 'Edit' and 'Create Still Frame' (or use ShiftApple'S'), which will normally create a 5:00 second still which you can place just after your photo and thereby extend its duration.
It's good that you're doing this "fine tuning" before adding transitions and music ..because it's simpler to fix things before they've had transitions baked into them, and because adding transitions generally shortens the overall running time of a movie, and so any already-added music will over-run if you add transitions after adding the music.
    Does any of that help..?

  • Father's day e-mail from the iTunes store

I received an e-mail from the iTunes store about "Great albums for Dad"  Does anyone know if it is just select albums or all albums?  Thanks.

  • Calendar app missing Fathers Day

The calendar app that came with my iPad does not identify Father's Day although it does identify Mother's Day. Is this an oversight?

You sent me looking Barry. My husband and I both have the Iphone 5 and I see that his phone has Father's Day while both my phone and my Ipad do not. Maybe you gotta be a male owner to get that day - lol.
Very strange to say the least.

  • Minidv import missing days

This has happened to me twice now:
I import a minidv tape into FCPX. However, I can tell in events that there are videos and days missing that I know are on the tape. So I re-import all over again and this time it all shows up with a couple of more days added as well. Any idea what's going on? Again, it's happend to me twice this past weekend as I was trying to get multiple tapes imported.

Yes, I let the tape run through to the end: the last take run's into tape end. The problem occurs also for the last take, if you use a fresh, never before used tape. The last take never is written into media library.
Must I use Quicktime 7 or does it also work with 10.4? I never tried this. I assume correct date and time is lost doing so...
However: it's a little bit poor that functions once have been working without any problems do no longer work, also not with "Pro" tool FCPX. :/
I assume that instead of "finish import" accidentally "cancel import" is programmed from Apple developers if tape end is reached.
Thanks for the hint with QT, I will try this.
