But when trying to execute any procedure in the package that is exposed as a web service I now get the following error:

As far as I can tell nothing has changed. These are procecures that have been working for months now that generate this error. I am using JDEV 9052 to deploy to our OAS 10g.
Any ideas? I am at a loss
I have fixed the problem, but still not sure what caused it. I redeployed the app from a different machine and it all works again. Not sure what caused it to stop working when deployed from the original machine.

I found below error on my applications that are on Oracle AS (data source pool). After I killed some processes on Oracle Database.
<SOAP-ENV:Fault>
<faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Server.Exception:(/faultcode>
<faultstring>java.lang.NullPointerException</faultstring>
<faultactor>/BBContent/BBWebService</faultactor>
</SOAP-ENV:Fault>1 . I created Soap Application by use
/oracle/product/10.1.3/OracleAS/jdk/bin/java -jar $ORACLE_HOME/webservices/lib/WebServicesAssembler.jar -config config.xml
and deploy from ear file to AS
2. I edit data-sources.xml
<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
<data-sources>
<managed-data-source login-timeout="1800" connection-pool-name="PoolVCMGR-COW2" jndi-name="jdbc/OracleDSw4SAP" name="DataSourcew4SAP"/>
<connection-pool name="PoolVCMGR-COW2">
<connection-factory factory-class="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource" user="user" password="password" url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//127.0.0.1:1521/DB"/>
</connection-pool>
</data-sources>
When I killed session on Database or restarted Database.
My application can't work. when we debug, we found
<SOAP-ENV:Fault>
<faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Server.Exception:(/faultcode>
<faultstring>java.lang.NullPointerException</faultstring>
<faultactor>/BBContent/BBWebService</faultactor>
</SOAP-ENV:Fault>
So We restarted this serverics, that worked.
I don't known why we kill session on Database or restart Database.
Our Application seem, that can't communicate Database.
Help me, How can we resolve this problem? -

It is resolved. The problem was with the request message for CreateOrderBySpecification. Remove the unwanted tags and keep only the required tags.

WFMailer java.lang.NullPointerException
Hi all,
We have a problem with WFMailer. In the log file I found;
"ERROR:[SVC-GSM-WFMLRSVC-365145-10006 : oracle.apps.fnd.wf.mailer.IMAPInboundProcessor.readNewMessages()]:Lost connection to INBOX when performing {Obtaining UID}. Try again later -> java.lang.NullPointerException"
This problem occured when exchange server transfered new machine with same version but the os regional settings changed then we changed these settings according to old os but we can not find the main problem.
Does anyone have experienced this error ?
Thanks,
Best regards.
HalilHi
Please call the diff() function on the XMLDiff instance after setting the files. I think the Diff trees are generated only after the diff() function is called.
XMLDiff diff = new XMLDiff();
diff.setFiles(new File("c:/46237.xml"), new File("c:/45821.xml"));
boolean isDifferent = diff.diff();
Thanks
Nishan

Create scenario in Integration Directory eroor:java.lang.NullPointerExcept
Dear all,
I have create all thing under software component SAP BW 7: message interfarence and import object rfc, also create integration senario.
now while i am going to create scenario from Integration Directory > select internal communication and enter create getting error:
java.lang.NullPointerException
Internal problem occurred (INTERNAL_PROBLEM)
i have transferd Integaration scenario from IR and than try to do same, got same error,
whats the initial steps for importing Integration Repository design in to Integration Directory?
Best regards,
dushyant.Hi Dushyant,
Actually it should work...
try first this one
In ID -->First import the Integration Scenario by clicking tolls -->Transfer IS from IR
Then
Click Create Object in ID then you will get the scrren 3 0f 4.5 as per the link...
Then click create ---> and enter the service name (if does not exist it is automatically created)
Then select remaining as required...
Or else...
follow this...
Just Double click the Configuration Scenario under Configuration Objects and Proceed ( No need of Configuration Wizard required) and select your Integration scenario created in IR...
and rest you can create all the remaining steps under the Scenario that you created by following the smae steps...

Edited by: La VloZ on 18 mai 2013 22:55Why the error? Because you invoke the constructor String(String s), with s null. The constructor would produce a new String with the same character sequence as s, but if s is null, it cannot do this, so it throws NullPointerException. What else could it do? Without throwing an exception, a constructor has to create a new object, but there is no raw material, so to speak, for the creation. Think what would/could you do if you had to write such a 'copy constructor' for your own class and you would be passed null.
Now, the String copy constructor is probably useless, as the javadoc hints. When you have a String already, you don't need to create an identical one, as the original will:
- Not be garbage collected, if you keep a reference to it
- Never be modified, as strings are immutable
You are right that the code you show would 'copy the reference of nom to this.nom' and this is ok. It's exactly what you need, for the reasons above. -

Problem with debug java.lang.NullPointerException
Hi All,
i am having a very strage issue with Flash Builder 4.5.1.
If I create a Flex Mobile Application, i am able to debug the app with no problems.
if I create a Flex Mobile and PHP Project, and then connect to a data service, i am not able to debug the app. i am having the following error:
An internal error occurred during: "Launching Main_App".
java.lang.NullPointerException
SO: Windows 7
Flash Builder 4.5.1
Any ideas on this?
Thanks a lot,
JoeHi Steven,
I turned on debugger on oracle.jheadstart.controller.strutsadf.JhsRequestProcessor.
The exception is rised in method :
processActionPerform
at statement :
ActionForward forward = super.processActionPerform(request, response, action, form, mapping);
I hope it is helpful.

Java.lang.NullPointerException problems
I have noticed i cannot make a Point P = new Point(null); it throws this exception. However i have made a function that returns a point, or null, depending on whether two line segments collide. Here is what happens:
this is where the error occours, and where i need to use the method:
if (LineIntersect(variables) != null);
Point P = new Point(LineIntersect(variables) );
// do whatever i need
}with the method along the lines of:
Point LineIntersect(variables)
if (collides)
Point P = new Point();
//P = whatever i want....
else
return null;
}however i get an java.lang.NullPointerException at
Point P = new Point(LineIntersect(variables) );
and i dont know why, as i am only declairing this if LineIntersect(variables) is NOT null.... I dont think this is a syntax error, will post more code if needed
thanks for the help!My 0.02c
You are calling the LineIntersect method (should be lineIntersect) twice. Plus that method returns a Point object so no need to use the new operator again. I would do this:
Point p = lineIntersect(variables);
if(p != null) {
// do something with the Point
}
