Faulty card or what???

Hiya, Am having some problems with my card. i got the card a couple of weeks ago, when i installed the drivers with the card, i started getting problems in programs which using 2d graphic on the desktop eg Battlecraft and Editor42, which are map making tools for the game Battlefield 1942,(not games , games are fine). i put it down to drivers so downloaded the new drivers from MSI, still the same, the stage am at now is that i have installed DirectX9c- 61.77 drivers and still getting these problems, Then last night when i was playing a game the game froze for 15 seconds and then unfroze but the graphic had gone very bad, i fine restarting the computer resets it back to normal... first i thought it was drivers but am starting to think that the card is faulty i have also been keeping an eye on the temp and it never goes above 70 c every thing is at default and i'm not overclocking and never have, here are the system specs
thanks in advance

When using a nForce chipset, try disabling Fastwrites in your BIOS. After that, check if it is correctly disabled with the help of Rivatuner. Disabling Faswrites only seems to work on nForce mainboards, not with the Intel based mainboards.
I have the same problems with my XFX 6800GT. The weird pauzes are almost gone when ik turn Vsync on.
Good luck!

Arjan
