Faulty iphone but having exchange problems

I live in N Cyprus and have a  dead iPhone 5s. Apple support from Turkey contacted me and after running various tests, they concluded it's a hardware problem (faulty phone). I've been told to take the phone in to an apple store for it to be exchanged. My nearest apple store is Turkey and I've been trying to get an appointment with the Genius Bar for days and it's impossible. There are no slots Available. I can't contact apple support because you cannot phone their contact numbers  from a different country. ( there is no contact no for N Cyprus and my technical support has run out ie. apple will not contact me again).
i want  to make a written complaint to apple, but cannot find anywhere on their website where I can put something into writing. You
can complain about online support and other things but NOTHING about lack of support for exchanging a faulty phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your failure to answer a simple question is making it hard for us to help you.
Again. Where (country/name of store) did you purchase the iPhone? As the iPhone is NOT legitimately available in Cyprus (that is why there are no iPhone support options for Cyprus), you must have gotten it from another country (Turkey?). And, from what I understand, it is not available carrier unlocked in Turkey, which you need for use in Cyprus. Assuming it is Turkey, you MUST take it back to Turkey/country of origin for service. The iPhone warranty is not and has never been international, contrary to what you may believe. In any case this document indicates that iPhone service is handled by the carriers in Turkey and not Apple. So I have no idea who you are talking to in Turkey.

As I see it, from what limited information you have given us, you have only one option which is to send it to a friend in Turkey, who will then take it physically to the Apple store (after trying to get an appointment) or making the trip to see if they can get it serviced/exchanged without an appointment.

    Restart your device

    I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

    If the phone is locked to a carrier then you will need the carrier to unlock it And only the carrier can do that.

    I tried to upgrade my IOS6 into 7 hopefully it work...
    Somehow, all data (contacts, sms, photo and etc) were gone after I did that.

    For Icloud, is the data retrieve via the phone sim? Phone mac ID? Apple ID? or everything?

    Did you backup your iPhone 4S before to upgrade? If you did, you may recover your contacts from it.

    For iCloud, it does not retrieve the phone sim data. It can only restore your backup data. And, if you want to find your Apple ID, you should read this:

  • 2 Sites don't work on iPhone but SHOULD + more problems = no complaints?

    Long story short, I made a call on the iPhone and arranged to meet an individual at a specific location and call them when I arrived there to complete rendezvous. I first received their email from my .mac email on my computer which I deleted after I talked to them on the phone.
    When I arrived at the location I looked in my recent calls list and no numbers were there!
    I called 611 and they said they couldn't give me my last dialed number over the phone because of Federal Law and told me I might be able to go to att.com/mywireless and login to view my account to retrieve the number.
    I tired to register at att.com/mywireless from my iPhone but after inserting your number it goes to a profile page where you insert your information and the field where you insert your email address does not allow the @ character from the iPhone!!!
    OK so I go to the .mac login page and log in to .mac Mail through Apple.com and I can see the email that I deleted off my computer (and iPhone) but I can not view the message because alas, you have to double click the email message in order to view it!!!
    We all know what double-tapping on the iPhone does right class?
    About an hour passed as I tried to go though this turmoil and during that time the person said they tried to call me 3 times! I was lucky enough that the last time they called they let the call go to voicemail and left a little sigh before hanging up which went to visual voicemail and I was able to get the number from there...
    So yeah recent calls not being logged, not able to access content on manufacturer and providers sites, and missed calls which are still happening today (I haven't had my phone ring in days I just get voicemails that pop up + some outgoing calls are still not being logged).
    But I guess I still love my iPhone
    I went home afterwards and logged on to .mac Mail from my computer and could read the email by double-clicking it.

    I think what diesel vdub is trying to say is that if your Apple headphones work and the third party ones don't then the third party ones are not compatible or are broken.
    I would ask if they third party headphones ever worked with this phone before or not?  If they have, then I would check for damage to the headphones or to the port where they plug in (some people have had issues with getting obstructions in the port preventing the headphones from plugging in fully).
    You could try to make an appointment at an Apple Genius Bar or authorized service center, but since the Apple supplied headphones work they are likely to say teh same as diesel vdub, and that the problem is with the third party headphones.

    I just got given a iphone 3g as a hand me down, and I think im having problems with the wifi, but cant find anything sensible as fix (one video suggested put it in the oven)
    when using safari, or internet apps (namely, facebook, kik, igotchat) and probably any other apps that need an internet connection, I get randomly "disconnected" for lack of a better word. on safari it says "no network is available, please connect to wifi" and kik says the same thing.  normally with safari i can just refresh the page a couple of times, and it will work, but when using the instant messenger apps, it just doesnt send or receive my messages, for hours,
    the thing is, when all this is going on, i dont actully lose wifi, the signal symbol is there the whole time, I go into settings and my routers name is there, and also igotchat's wifi status always says its good.
    So far ive tried changing my wireless channel on the router, and also trying to use it on a diferent internet connection, but the problem still persists (my home network is fine on all other devices)
    i understand that im using "legacy" apps, and therefore not on the latest version, but im on the latest that ios 4.2.1 will allow, and im sure app developers/apple wouldnt just have people unable to use their old devices
    so what im asking is there any fixes i can try, either with the phone, the router, or the apps, as currently its fairly unusable as an internet device
    im pretty new to apple products (except my old ipod video) but im decent with technology so il try anything if it might help even slightly

    So, you are still having the disconnection after changing the protocol to G only.  Another tip some folks have used to help clear this up, is to set up a Static address for your phone.  This is something I do at work, so I took the practice home. 
    Not all routers, will let you reserve addresses for devices, but some do.  If your router is the DHCP for your network, look in the network settings for resevations.
    If you can add a reservation, then add the one your phone is already using to see if this elimates the problem, at least on your network.
    If you know how to set up a reservation, you can skip this part.
    First write down the network settings that are on your phone under the blue > dot.  When you change from DHCP to Static, iOS will clear the settings, so write them down.
    Tap on Static and fill in the information you just wrote down for the static address settings.
    Now put the phone in airplane mode or turn off WiFi on your phone.
    Assuming you can add a reservation to your router, you will need to know you phone's MAC address (Settings>About WiFi address) so you can find it in the address pool. 
    Your phone's address in the pool should be the same as what you wrote down already and revoke the address from the pool.
    Now you can make the new reservation and type in the IP address, the MAC address and a description of your phone, typically.
    Save the settings and the router will probably restart the network, so make sure anything already on the network is ready to go offline for a minute or so.
    Take your phone off airplane mode and it should join the network.  If it doesn't, confirm the addresses are the same and make sure the MAC address is correct.
    If your router can't take a reservation, then the only other suggestion I can make is to aquire an Apple router.  Check around ebay to see if you can't get an old AirPort Extreme Base Station (the ones that look like a space ship) and attach it to your nettwork as a subnet.  I just spotted some on ebay for under $10.  Also if your network is secure, just make sure the subnet is also secure. 
    If you're unfamilar with Apple routers, you set them up using software from Apple, so if you have a Windows PC you will need to download the AirPort Utility software http://support.apple.com/kb/DL524 and install it on your PC.
    Beyond that I'm afraid I can't help, sorry.

  • IPhone 4s having many problems?

    I've had the iPhone 4s for about a year now, and it's been working perfectly until last month. It started with slower internet amd a few apps crashing, which I assumed was an exterior problem. However, since last week, it's gotten worse. My pictures aren't loading, they are blurry to the point where you can't tell what it is. None of my pictures are saving either and if they do, they show up in my camera roll as a pixelated dark gray patch that says png. On top of this, it won't let me send texts, with iMessage or otherwise. My number is entered in the 'My Number' section and iMessage is on. Also, my only app, Tumblr, will never load. It'll show the same post from two days ago. I've tried redownloading and updating it but to no avail. Safari will crash at random, deleting all my history and bookmarks, my music will be randomly deleted at times, and YouTube videos aren't loading AT ALL. I've cleared the cache and cookies which worked for about ten minutes. It's gottten to the point where I have to reboot every ten minutes to even open my phone let alone doing anything on it. I've tried turning it off for long periods of time, disconnecting from wifi, and restoring. Nothing seems to be working. However, I am still on ios 6 which leads me to suspect that that is the problem. I cannot update, 'other' is taking up too much space and I am getting really frustrated with this phone. Does anyone have any solutions?

    If Other is very large you may have data corruption on your phone. Update it using iTunes rather than over-the-air on the phone. This will kill two birds with one stone.

  • Still on 10.6.5 but having wifi problems with Canon MP495

    At least I think it is a wifi problem? Love this printer - worked brilliantly since I have had it and not had any issues with it at all once installed properly. However, over the past 3/4 weeks I keep getting communication problems and the wifi button/light flashes during printing and more often than not the printing stops and spits out the paper with only a few lines printed. I then have to pause the printer and resend several times - and I'd be lucky to get a complete print without error 1 out of 5 times. I have not changed position of the printer. The kids laptops with windows 7 did not appear to have this problem until first thing this morning when my daughter needed to print something for school on 'special paper' and guess what - it stopped and spat it out half way through! Any clues as to what to do wold be very much appreciated.

    Can I confirm that it is actually linking with the pc/mac that sends the print and not the router?
    The printer should be linking to the wireless router and the computers should also link to the same router. The printer does not support a direct connection to it from a wireless computer.
    I really do not want to have to move the printer every time I/the kids need to use it. I think I'll update to 10.6.6 just to see if that makes a difference and revert soon.
    I don't believe the 10.6.6 will resolve this. And you also said that the Win7 computer also had problems so it would suggest there is more of a problem with the connection from the router to the printer.

    If you are using the iphone as designed ,then all of this is on your computer.
    You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly.  All apps purchaqsed on the iphone should be transferred to your computer. Contacts/calendars should be synced to your computer.
    Restart loses nothing.
    Reset loses nothing.
    Restore from backup will put everything back if you have stored it all on your computer.
    Restore as new will erase everything.  If you have everything stored on your computer as you should, then you can put everything back

  • TS2890 Trying to get games etc. on to ipod touch but having major problems..!

    When I try and sign into my Store app on my ipod touch that I can only get to by going into my settings the only thing that happens is that a pop up message shows on screen saying that I have not used my apple Id in itunes yet and to tap on reveiw or cancel . When I tap on review it does Nuthing at all. I also dont have the itunes app on my ipod touch so this is causing major problems for me as it does not seem as if i can sign into itunes on the internet or even when i try and sign in on my laptop as I have itunes downloaded there.This is more then fustrating as I cannot see the reason why everyone I know that has an ipod touch does not have this problem and im trying to solve this problem for over a year and nuthing seems to be working ...?? Any suggestions would be a major help..!
