Favorite folders in assets?

I have organized all my image assets in DwCS3 in various
folders, and now want to share my favorite folders with 2 others
who are collaborating with me on the same website. Is this
possible? If so, how can they be shared?

I use library items to share my assets, not sure if that
helps but you might want to look into that. perhaps someone else
has a better idea.

  • How to add favorite folders to "Save As.." dialog screen

    Hi all,
To the Windows Explorer shell it is possible to add favorite folders to the "Save as..." dialog screen (done so by dragging shortcuts to an open "Save as..." screen). [ see screendump for what I am referring to ]
Now one would suppose the same is possible for the "Save As..." screen from within Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Unfortunately, it is not: no possibility to add favorite locations there....
This isn't productive at all, since my docs are on a separate disc in non-standard folders. Each time I wish to save PDF-scanned documents to the harddisk, I need to click my way through too much folders...
Anyone know a way (registry edit perhaps?) that enables me to add favorites to the Adobe "Save As..." screen?
(I really need it there, instead of e.g. creating shortcuts on my Desktop...)
    Thanks for your help!
    Willy

Ok, here are three solutions I tested, all seem to work in my copy of vista.
The easiest: grab the 'places bar editor' from here: http://melloware.com/download/
Moderate: use TweakUI, the windows XP utility.  You need to jump through some hoops to get it to run in Vista, but it seems to work fine.  Follow the instructions by n8barber a few posts down: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/700353.htm
Hardest: edit the registry.  I added the string using a single \ in the path, but somehow when i exported it I show a double \.  I guess you will have to fiddle with this.

  • How to get favorite folders

Is there a way to get your favorite folders to be somewhere handy for import --ie like Bridge does? thanks.

    Are you using LR3?
Here are screen shots using LR3:
It stores about 5 recent locations.  LR3 does make it easy to navigate to a source file.
Another thought...but only if you are super on top of your workflow. If images are added to say hard drive A and then before you add another job to that HD you import to LR, you could always just select the parent folder (or the drive itself) and with the "do not import suspected duplicates" checked only your most recent job would be imported.  Downside, if you copy from HD to new location on import then delete an image, it will pop up again on import.

I upgraded to Yosemite OSX 10.10.1 and most of the the favicons disappeared in favorites folders. So much slower to find folders.

Returning to Mail Preferences - Junk Mail, in the section
    When junk mail arrives:
select mark as junk mail but leave it in my inbox
This should then give you the opportunity to mark it as Not Junk
and after several days it may improve.
I say 'may improve', based on my experience of when I upgraded to 10.5 a few years ago.  It took a while to learn what I kept insisting was not junk. It is a slow learner but it got there.
P.S. When you are satisfied it is identifying junk reasonably accurately, you can change the Preferences setting back to  'Move it to the Junk mail box'

  • Why does Bridge always lose track of the Favorites folders I put into it?

    (Latest version of Bridge)
I haven't used Bridge in a while because of this problem.
When you click on one of your Favorites folders in the panel on the far
left side, the folder comes up with a question mark and it can't find anything!
    Why does this happen?
Even though the original location of the files or folders was never moved or renamed.. Bridge loses track of the folders I put into it?
How do I keep it from doing that?

    Here's the boilerplate text referenced by Omke;
I still advocate Repairing Permissions (with Apple's Disk Utility) before AND after any system update or upgrade, as well as before AND after installing any software that requires an installer that asks for your password.
I have seen software installations go sour because the installer did not find everything as and where it should be.
I have also seen software installations go bad because the installer did not clean up after itself properly and did not leave everything as and where it should be.
This is just my own personal opinion and practice based on my own observations. Others may disagree and that's OK. I can only base my routines and my advice to others on my own experience and conclusion. I don't pretend to know why others believe otherwise.
Repairing Permissions after the fact (i. e. not immediately before and after an install) may NOT help. Try it anyway, though.

Additionally, if your machine does not run 24/7 so that it runs the daily, weekly and monthly Cron Scripts in the middle of the night as intended by Apple, run Cocktail (shareware) as well.
Cron Scripts are maintenance routines designed by Apple to run on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in the middle of the night.
If you don't run them, you WILL run into trouble, sooner rather than later.
Here's an excerpt from the Apple tech doc http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107388
Mac OS X performs background maintenance tasks at certain times if the computer is not in sleep mode. If your computer is shut down or in sleep at the designated times, the maintenance does not occur. In that case, you may want or need to run these manually.
Mac OS X periodically runs background tasks that, in part, remove system files that are no longer needed. This includes purging older information from log files or deleting certain temporary items. These tasks do not run if the computer is shut down or in sleep mode. If the tasks do not run, it is possible that certain log files (such as system.log) may become very large.
    Also, from: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106978
The disk activity generated by find is a normal part of file system maintenance, used for tasks such as removing invisible temporary files that are used by the system. It is scheduled to occur early in the morning at 03:15 everyday, 04:30 on Saturdays, and 05:30 on the first day of each month.
    NOTE:
There have been comments to the effect that Apple "fixed" this in 10.4.2 and later versions of the OS, but I have not been able to verify this to my satisfaction. The reference in the 10.4.2 release notes are far from explicit on this subject.

  • Problems with favorite folders in Time Machine sidebar

Most of the favorite folders in the Time Machine display sidebar (Documents, Music, etc.) only work when the timeline is set to "now" and do no "go back in time". I can still access the backups for earlier dates for such folders by "going back in time" for the boot drive.
In other words, using the "Music" Time Machine browser sidebar favorite folder as an example:
-If i click on the "Music" sidebar favorite Time Machine browser folder with "now" selected in the timeline, it works.
-I can't select any other date in the timeline for the "Music" sidebar favorite folder.
-I can select any dates I want ("now" or previous dates) for the boot disk in the sidebar.
-If I select a previous date for the boot disk, I can access the music subfolder for such a date in the boot disk list of folder, but I still can't select it from the sidebar.
How do I solve this? I would rather avoid having to start over. Thanks.

Reboot and run "Repair Disk" (not "Repair Permissions") on the external drive (not the internal drive.)

  • Favorite folders not working after update to 31.5.0

I have some folders that have various subfolders. These were created through gmail filters. Some of my subfolders are marked as favorites, some aren't.
The new, troublesome behavior after the update is that the umbrella folders, or superfolders, show up in my favorites panel, even though they're not marked as favorites.
This is cluttering up my favorites list because some of my favorites are actually sub-sub-sub-folders.

I found a solution. It turns out there are two ways of looking at Favorite Folders. I was in "Favorite Folders," but I needed to be in "Favorite Folders - Compact View," for things to look like what I was used to.

  • Difference between Favorite folders and Recent mes...

In Settings>Applications>Mail there is an option of choosing Favorite folders or Recent messages. I have tried both and I see no difference in my Hotmail account.
Does anyone know the difference between the two?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Recent messages comes handy when you use two email accounts with N9. It displays combined view of emails from both accounts below. By selecting favourites folder you can see folders you have marked as favorite below. I have attached screenshots of both how it looks on mine. You can have only either one displayed.
If a reply has solved your problem click Accept as solution button, doing it will help others know the solution. Thanks.

  • Adding "Favorites" Folders to Photoshop save/open dialogs Vista

    Hi All,
Most apps in Vista display your folder "favorites" when you save/open. The CS4 apps, however, only display a few folders (recent places, desktop, etc.) and don't let you edit which folders are available to quickly select.
Anyone know how to force this window to either display additional folders or display your Vista favorites?
    Thanks,
    Adam

Thanks. From your link I discovered this helpful (and free) app:
    http://www.askvg.com/placesbar-editor-customize-default-places-bar-in-common-file-dialog-b ox-in-windows-and-office/
    Which does it all wisywig.
I still don't understand the Adobe dialogs don't resemble the Office (and other app) dialogs, which have the favorites folder by default -- obviously most people using Adobe apps need to quickly access a variety of folders on their computer. I do wonder if there is a way to customize these dialogs through the Adobe software.
    Thanks though,
    Adam

  • I imported my IE Favorites folders but they are empty. I also tried exporting my IE Favorites to a html file but still did not work.

All of my folders came over but are empty. I also exported my IE Favorites to a html file and then imported them but they also came over empty and there are no favorite links shown that were not in folders. When I look at the html file, I can see all the links.

You only get a "From Internet Explorer" bookmarks folder if you use the Import wizard (Import Data from Another Browser).<br />
Otherwise the bookmarks should just be appended at the end of the Bookmarks Menu folder.
It is possible that the file path is too deeply nested if import isn't working.

  • How can I display ALL my favorite folders?

My drop-down menu of folders only displays some of my folders. I have typically 15 to 20 and only 5 to 6 appear in the menu. What do I need to do to always display all my folders?

Is this problem in the dialog where you add or edit a bookmark? There is an icon all the way to the right of the "most recently used" folders button that expands a tree view. In that box you may need to click the triangle to the left of Bookmarks Menu to start expanding it. (Screen shot attached.)

  • Switching from MSN to firefox, how do I retrieve my favorite bookmarks? I haave tried the procedure outlined but I am not getting my favorite folders.

I have tried to import my Favorites from MSN (Internet Explorer) but I am not getting the bookmarks that I have available on MSN

Go to the "Convert bookmark file" web page at http://www.linkagogo.com/go/Convert?informat=msn&outformat=netscape to convert the MSN Explorer file '''favorites.xml''' ('''input''' format) into a "Netscape (also Mozilla and Firefox)" HTML file ('''output''' format) . (If you have problems locating the "favorites.xml" file on your computer, read the "MSN Explorer users" section of the web page and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_foldersthis article].) After converting, use "File -> Save Page as" to save the output. You can then import the HTML file you just saved into your Mozilla browser using the "[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_bookmarks#From_file Import from file]" feature of the Bookmarks Manager (see above). You can alternately try the MSN Favorites Export Toolkit, available from http://www.mainsoft.fr/en/downloads.htm to convert the MSN Explorer file (favorites.xml) into a Netscape bookmarks file (bookmark.htm) which you can then import into your Mozilla browser (details [http://www.tutorials-win.com/IE/favourites-1835/ here]).

  • Outlook 2010: show subfolders in Favorites for a folder in Public Folders

I have a folder in Public Folders / All Public folders that I would like to see in my mail items favorites.  I right clicked on it, clicked "Add to Favorites" and selected the options to show subfolders (i.e. "Add subfolders of this folder").
It then shows in the Public Folders / Favorites and shows subfolders there.  But, when I right click on the item in Public Folders / Favorites to add it to the mail item Favorites (Show in Favorites), there is no option to include subfolders and the subfolders
do not show in the mail items Favorites.  Any ideas?
    Thank you.
    Jerry

    Hi,
Tested and I can confirm this is not possible in current versions. However, if you want to switch to folder list quickly when you are in Favorite folders, press CTRL+6 for workaround. Thanks.
