Favorite Themes always go missing

Hi there,
I have iDVD 6.0.3 and I have created some favorite themes in my project. When I quit and fire up iDVD again, I get the message:
MISSING THEMES:
"At least one of the themes used by this project is missing on your system. The default theme "Travel Main" will be used instead."
Now, I've read a couple of other posts on this topic and tried the fixes in them, but to no avail.
The themes I have created ARE there in the appropriate Favorite folders in the system, both for shared and not shared themes.
I have trashed the preference files and re-started and I still get the same error message and it replaces the themes with the Travel Theme.
The crazy thing is that in iDVD my Themes are still there under favorites, in the iLife menu, and so each time i open the project I have to re position them on the appropriate pages. So on one level iDVD isn't seeing them, but on another it is.
The other weird thing is that sometimes I will quit and restart iDVD and one or two of the theme pages will NOT have been replaced. ie they have been found. But then next time, they won't be there.
It's really making iDVD useless for me as I have to rebuild the project every time I come back to it.
Frustrating.
Does anyone know of any other solutions that might help? Would be much appreciated.

Favorite themes appear twice in the Themes window

Whenever I save a theme as a favorite, it appears twice in my Themes window. When I click on each duplicate instance of any given theme in the Themes window, it seems to produce the same result, so operationally it's not a problem. Still, it's a nuisance to have to scroll through twice as much stuff to find what I want, and it doesn't seem right that each favorite should appear twice.
I've searched my drive for two instances of each .favorite file, but I can only find one instance, located in *~/Library/Application Support/iDVD/Favorites*.
I tried trashing the preferences file, but when I re-opened iDVD, I got the following prompt:
+*Project Duration*+
+Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn this project, remove some content.+
That's nonsense. I had already "burned" (saved) the project to a disk image, and it burned just fine. Besides, the project is shorter than other projects I've burned with no problem. The upside of having replaced the preferences file is that the double instances of my favorite themes were gone.
I had saved the old preferences file, so I restored that and trashed the new one. That got rid of the bogus Project Duration message, but now I'm back to double instances of my favorite themes again. There is definitely something screwy going on with iDVD.

Never mind...I solved it. When you trash the preferences file and iDVD creates a new one, it automatically selects "Best Performance", which naturally increases the filesize of the disk image file. It's sufficient to just acknowledge the Project Duration message and then go into Preferences:Projects and change the Encoding to "Best Quality". That fixes project duration problem.
Actually, there's a far more serious problem with "missing themes", but that will be the subject of another thread if the complete reinstall of iDVD I'm doing now doesn't solve it. Grrrrr......

I get the message "an error occurred while loading your favorite themes" and my persona rotator won't work. Please help?

I usually use the Persona Rotator using My Favorites as its themes to rotate. Lastely my rotater has not been working. I click on Tools, then Personas, then My Favorites and am asked to sign in to use my favorites with the Rotator. I follow all these steps and all seems to go fine, except my Persona Rotator does not rotate. Again I click on Tools, Personas, My Favorites and there is a message saying "an error occurred while loading your favorite themes" and therefore won't work. I don't know what the problem is or even exactly when it started, but it doesn't work and I'm most disappointed. Please fix or help me to fix it so I can enjoy my rotating themes again.

In order to switch to another persona that you had previously installed, do the following:
#Go to ''Tools'' and click ''Add-ons'' (or click the Firefox button at the top left and click ''Add-ons'').
#Switch to the ''Appearance'' tab. You should find your previously used personas in the list.
#Find the one you want to use and click the ''Enable'' button.
To uninstall the other ones you can click the ''Remove'' button on them and they'll be uninstalled instantly.

Portal Favorites iview always appear in detailed navigation

Hello,
I have a problem regarding the Detailed Navigation with the Portal Favorites iview.
The iview always appears in the Detailed Navigation, although the only thing it shows is the message "there are no items to display" (meaning that there are no favorites). This causes the detailed navigation to always appear even when there is no need for it (no navigation links and no other content attached to it).
I tried removing the Portal Favorites iview (because we don't use that iview in the portal and have no need for it) from the innerpage of the default framework page, and it works, but after the next restart of the portal, the iview returns.
Is there any way to remove it completely so that it won't appear again?
We're running EP7 SP14.

Hi,
Create a new framework page by creating a delta link of the original page and then modify that framework page.
Also you will have to create a new portal desktop and use the modified page and also set the desktop rules accordingly.

Themes - Customer Folder missing

Hello,
We have a brand new NW2004s Portal installed and I am trying to create a new theme.
1. The <b>Portal Content > themes > Customer folder is missing</b> in the Content Administration. And I am unable to create my own folder in the "themes" folder.
2. Also - same problem, different symptom. In the Theme Editor, I am able to change the parameters but the <b>"Folder ID" pull down menu in the Save As dialog does not have any entries</b> and so the button never enables. So I am unable to save any changes to the Themes.
Is there anything we are missing before this point? Or is this related to Portal permissions? What is the actual process to create / manage themes in the Portal?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help Pooja, but even that folder does not have the "Customer" folder and the only right-click options available for that folder are Refresh and Copy.
Should the Portal install automatically create this folder or should we do something manually to make this folder become available?

Safari 8 Favorites bar contextual menu missing?

I used to be able to right click on a blank spot on the favorites bar in Safari and it would give me the option to add a folder. Did this get removed from Safari 8 or am I missing something?

From the Safari menu bar click Bookmarks > Add Bookmark Folder

TS3274 Favorites and contact info missing

I noticed my texts coming thru with phone numbers and not contact names. Then I checked on contacts and several contacts are missing from my phone completely. Any ideas on how I can restore them?

Try plugging your iPad into your computer and opening iTunes. Select your iPad underdevices on the left side of the screen and right click. You should be given an option torestore from a backup.
If this option is not available to you, you can go through the Summary tab of your iPad on the right side of the screen and if you scroll down under iCloud you should get an option to restore from a previous backup, where you select the most recent backup to put on your iPad.

Re-Importing favorite themes after reinstalling iDVD

I am at the point where I feel I may need to re-install iDVD, my only hesitation is that I have some themes saved as favorites, that I really don't want to trash. It's not the end-of-the-world if it comes to that, but I was wondering if there was a way to re-import them after re-installing. I see that they are stored in a favorites folder in an application folder in my library.

Have you tried deleting their preference files, as well as a bit of basic maintenance?
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

I produced a film in iMovie and send it to iDVD to make a DVD with a theme. When everything was ready it starts at my mac-computer. But at the TV the theme always comes at the end of the film not at the beginning. What have I to change, what´s wrong?

I produced a film in imovie and send it to idvd to make a dvd with a theme. After finishing all the dvd starts in my mac-computer and first comes the theme and then the film.
But when I start it with a dvd-recorder at tv first the film comes an at the end of the film the theme comes. What did I wrong? Where is my mistake?

A. Do not Use - Share to iDVD - in any iMovie version at all !
B. Start a BRAND NEW iDVD project
C. in iMovie'08 to 11 - Share to Media Browser and as LARGE - NOT HD or other resolution as quality will be even worse
- in iMovie HD6 - just close it and from within iDVD import the iMovie movie project icon (with a Star on it)
- FinalCut - Export as QuickTime Movie - NO QUICKTIME CONVERSION - AT ALL !
D. When in iDVD - see to that in the Lay-out menu (when it looks like a box-plott) there ARE NOTHING in the upper left most box (Auto Start box). As this overruns any Menu.
E. Save as a DiskImage - TEST this first - befor burning any DVDs

IDVD can't find my Favorite Themes

I've defined several of my own themes, and iDVD 6 can't find them. By this I mean that it finds them okay when I want to apply a theme to a menu, and everything is fine until I save the project. But when I try to reopen the project, I consistently get an error saying "Can't find theme X, using default theme instead."
I've replaced the themes, I've told iDVD explicitly where to look (in the Advanced tab of the Preferences) but it still insists on replacing my themes with predefined ones. Once it's opened the project and replaced all my themes, I can change them all back again without any problem, but it's obviously a real hassle to do this.
Anyone else? Any suggestions?

I am having lots of trouble with iDVDs themes also. So much in fact that I tracked down where they are srored in the library and trashed them. It tells me the same thing about the themes that I have defined and the only way I have found to fix this is to finish a project and making a .img before quiting that way I get fewer headaches. This iLife 06 reminds me an awful lot of iLife 03, that one really sucked.
I know this doesn't fix your problem but is a temporary workaround.

Ssh complains always about missing ~/.ssh/id_*

Since some days, mabye the last openssh update, ssh complains during building up an connection. The connection itselfs works:
ssh -l username hostname
no such identity: /home/me/.ssh/id_rsa: No such file or directory
no such identity: /home/me/.ssh/id_dsa: No such file or directory
no such identity: /home/me/.ssh/id_ecdsa: No such file or directory
I don't use any ssh-keys on this machine! Anyone other affected?

I'm the client so "sshd_config" is the wrong place. Their is no sshd-service running on my client.

From the bugreport I take the information, that I'm not alone. I wonder that there are not much more complains around everywhere. Everyone who doesn't have stored private keys in his/her .ssh-directory should be affected.
