Favorites iView Folder Name displayed

For the Favorites iView from SAP, I am creating a new folder. It appears that the Favorites iView displays the folder description rather than the folder name in the iView when a description is added. However, if you do not type in a description, the folder name displays in the iview. Should it not always display the folder name? EP6 SP2 FP5

I have two ways of looking at files in Finder. The first is a straight listing, the middle of the 3 boxes in the upper left corner of finder. Clicking on the gear, click show view options, and size is an option, check it.
Another way is to click on the left box of the three, which shows icons for the files. Again, click the gear, click view options, and show item info. If a file is a movie, it shows the length, if it's a picture, it shows it's size. However, it doesn't show the size of a program module.

To get all the folders under Public Folders accessible by current user:
1. Logon as that user.
2. Run the query: select * from ci_infoobjects where si_kind='folder' and si_parentid=0; This only returns the top level folders. To get the subfolders within these folders, you need to make a recursive call changing si_parentid. Si_parentid=0 stands for root, change it with SI_ID of folder for which you are trying to find subfolders. To run the query and get results the user may need some access at the root level ( not granted for a general user by default, granted only for administrator)
The folders or objects listed under My Favorites are contents of a user's favorite or personal folder and a user should have full access to it by default. To retrieve contents of that:
select si_id from ci_infoobjects where si_kind='favoritesfolder' and si_name='<user name>' which will give a User's favorite folder and SI_ID of it.
then call:
Select * from ci_infoobjects where si_parentid=<SI_ID obtained from previous query>
will list all the top level objects, folders in a user's favorite folder.

Some menus and folder names displayed in Chinese and some in English

In one application the menu is displayed in Chinese text. switch to another app and menus are in English.
Language default is English.
Also using VLC > Open Files > Browse displays Finder directory with all text in chinese against all icons (home, apps, docs etc).
I have reinstalled osx 2 times now and having real problems cropping up all the time with parameters being reset, parameters ignored.
HELP.
20 years on PC and now 1 month Mac is making me gray.

Do Get Info on the icon for that application, hit the languages tab, and make sure only English is checked. If English not available, reinstall the app.
Also using VLC > Open Files > Browse displays Finder

You might want to ask the people who make VLC about that one, if you haven't already.

How to add folder name to document library view

Using Project Server 2010.
We have a set of standard folders on each of our project sites for Requirements, Development, Testing, etc. Currently, we display this library like you would see in File Explorer - you see a list of folders at the top, double-click on a folder
to drill down, etc.
I want to display these same documents as a straight list of all documents - not grouped into folders - but with the folder name displayed next to it (sort of like an attribute). I can create the list view easily by selecting the "Show all items
without folders" option in the view settings; however, the containing folder name is not available as a column name.
Is this possible?

I do not think there is an out of the box way to do this.
The immediate solution that comes to mind is using a workflow, that runs everytime a document is uploaded/item created, which may be too much for your scenario.

Folder names with diacritics & NFS shares

OK; sometimes things appear simple but are not. Sharing files with an OSX client has been, and is a nightmare in a Linux environment.
We have a mostly Ubuntu environment and have tried Samba, and NFS. After a significant amount of work the Mac can do stable NFS Mounts provided the following unconventional settings are implemented:
In the /etc/exports file on the Ubuntu server:
/some/catalog/to/export 192.168.0.0/24(rw,sync,nosubtree_check,allsquash,anonuid=1000,anongid=1000,insecure)
- anonuid needs to be user ID of the user on the server that is the owner of the catalog
- anongid needs to be group ID of the group on the server that is the primary group for of the catalog
On the Mac in Disk Utility/File/NFS Mounts:
- Enter the correct paths
- click "Advanced" and fill in: resvport,nolocks,locallocks,intr,soft,wsize=32768,rsize=32768
This finally let's you mount the share
However, after using the share for a while we discovered that folder names on the share that contains diacritic characters, including characters å,ä,ö and Å,Ä,Ö did not display in the file listing in Finder (In Path Finder Folder names are replaced with " -- "), nor could the folder be opened. However, right-clicking the " -- " in Path Finder and selecting "Get info" did display the correct path to the folder and did display the diacritic characters in the path correctly.
In a catalog containing 264 folders that all had the same owner and the same group & permissions, 94 did not display properly in OSX/Finder and none could be opened. All 94 contained one or more diacritic characters (åäö or ÅÄÖ). None of the 170 others did contain any diacritics. Spaces, and e.g. "&" does not cause problems.
With an Ubuntu client I can NFS mount the same server, and I do get the folder names displayed correctly and I can open the folders. It appears likely there is a bug in OSX - likely in Finder/Path Finder, since the correct path name is displayed in "Get Info".

Gave up on this and downloaded Interarchy (RBrowser seems similar). This is not NFS and not Samba; rather FTP over SSH (SFTP). Secure, even for remote access and works out of the box, like breeze. All access rights intact . And there is a preview of file, rather that open on remote server...

Lightroom 3 folder structure display

I have been using Lightroom 3 for a number of years quite happily. My folders in Lightroom nicely reflected the folder names for their respective photo folders on my external drive. The top level folders were the years (e.g. 2012, 2013, etc) with subfolder names which reflected various photos taken that year e.g. Christmas 2013, Johnny's birthday, etc.
For some strange reason since my last photo import my folder structure has changed in Lightroom and instead of showing the folder names it shows the number of photos in the folders. So instead of showing Christmas 2013 the folder name displays as 45 if there are 45 photos in the Christmas 2013 folder. The structure and hierarchy of the folders are still correct but the names have turned into numbers which is nonsensical and makes navigation between folders a headache.
I have no idea why this has happened. I have done a lot of digging on the online forums and can't find anything else similar to this. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Sounds like an unusual bug. Has anything changed recently in your system?
If rebooting doesn't solve it, I'd try re-installing Lightroom (and if still no go, try deleting preferences (.agprefs file).

How to display the folder name in a webi report at infoview

Suppose I have a report named "Test_Report" at location Public folder > Test_Folder> Reports_Folder
now I want to display the folder name "Test_Folder" using a variable in "Test_Report".
So that the variable will always display the corresponding folder name of "Test_Report" wherever the report resides.

How to hide the folder name in a KM Navigation Iview

I am using a KM Navigation Iview with LinkListExplorer Layout set. The Folder Name appears at the top of the collection.
Please can someone tell me how I can hide the folder name for the iview. i.e I do not want the folder name to appear in the iview.

KM Navigation iView and long Greek folder names

We have a very serious problem. We are working in EP 6.0 SP2. Everything worked fine with patch 27 until we installed patch 30 to correct some other bugs. After patch 30, the KM navigation iViews with long folder names containing Greek characters, when we choose "Details" of a file, the iView ends with the error:
com.sapportals.wdf.WdfError
at com.sapportals.wdf.WdfCompositeController.initFromPageContext(WdfCompositeController.java:775)
at com.sapportals.htmlb.Component.initializeFromId(Component.java:230).........
I must clarify that everything works fine if you go to that file through Content Administration --> KM Content.
Something is wrong with the KM Navigation iView.
I searched the knowledgemanagement.log and I also noticed the following error:

If you ignore the greek letters, you will notice that the given startRID after a few letters lost the path but the ancestor didn't.
Can anybody help me because all our work depends on that?

We have the same problem, but without special characters.

Portal favorites Iview Displaying twice in detailed navigation iview

Hi All,
I am facing one issue in portal...
In all the roles Portal Favorites Ivew is displaying twice in the detailed navigation iview. And the options in the Iview are different like details, refresh, Open a new window....
I have only one default framework assigned to my desktop....
I cldnot trace out which is causing this issue...
Could someone adivse me on this...?

How to display 2 level folder names in the application navigator?

We have our source code in the following structure.
C:\somefolder\project\java\all_the_java_code_under_this_folder
C:\somefolder\project\sample\java\all_the_sample_java_code_under_this_folder
In the project content, I select C:\somefolder\project folder so that the code under java folder and sample\java folder are picked up. But In the Application navigator, I would like to see the folder names (java or sample\java) so that I know which files I am working with. The package names could be the same, so I cannot identify files based on packages. The application navigator will display only the last part of the folder name (in this case, it is java). This is useless for me, because that part is the same as you can see from above.
Is there a work around for this problem, so that it is easier to navigate between files.

At the top of the application navigator play with the folder icon and with the number next to it, and see how they effect the display.
You can also try the system navigator as an alternative view instead of the application navigator.

Passing folder name to iview

Hi all,
We're developing a new application using km to make documents available to end users. We have a repository set up with lots of folders. Under each folder, there's up to 12 sub folders. Each of these sub folders may have their own sub folders.
We want to present a km search iview for each of the subfolders. We're wanting to use the tool area iview so that our search results will open up in a new window. We also want to use our own custom layout set. We know how to create a KM Search iview and reference it in the tool area search iview so that we can define our layout set, search option set, and what ever other customizations that we want to make.
I'm wondering if there's a way to pass a folder name to a km search iview. What I'm trying to avoid is having to create a separate tool area search iview, km search iview, and search options set for each of the individual sub folders. If I have to create each of these separate, that means that I'm creating three portal objects for each sub folder: tool area search, km search, and search options set.
Has anyone got a solution to this?

You should be able to get it directly as dCollectionName, but might have to execute a query to fill in the result set first: select dCollectionName from COLLECTIONS where DCOLLECTIONID = ?

How to configure the iTunes,to display only folder name as Album under Music.
I have a folder with name "English" under this I have plenty of folders which are either movie names or custom names created by me,inside of these are the music files. I just want all the files to be copied to the iPod with out any album artwork(which the itunes display under "Album By Artist" contains).The "Album By Artist" doesnt seem to contain just the folder name,it gets something else like the website from where the music file downloaded. This makes me irritating to browse through iPod or iTunes.
Please help me in configuring,so that I can just see the same folder/music hierarchy I see in my windows machine in the iPod.

Yep, I agree with Jurjen. It is not only limited to ACTVT, but rather fields of other objects as well which are "action" or "activity" related.
I would start the other way around - give them '03' only and investigate any transaction specific claims that it is not enough. There will be a few...

Did you perform a Firefox Reset either by clicking the button on the Help > Troubleshooting Information page or via the Safe mode start window?
You may have gotten the Safe Mode start window as the result of not being able to start Firefox more than once after crashes.

"Reset" creates a new default profile with a time stamp appended to identify it and tries to recover settings like bookmarks and history and passwords and cookies and auto-fill data from the old profile, but you lose data like extensions and other customizations.

Firefox 15+ versions will move the old profile folder to an "Old Firefox Data-##" folder on the Desktop that gets a number appended if you use reset more than once, so you can no longer use the profile manager to revert to the old profile.
