Fax and Modem with UC560

Dear All,
I have a somewhat tricky configuration to make happen and hope you can help me.
I have a UC560-BRI-K9 (located in Germany) that is connected via BRI/ISDN and also utilizes an external SIP-Trunk.
The UC is shared by two related businesses and the Trunks are separated using COR-Lists.
I am now tasked with making both Faxes and Modems work. Via the SIP-Trunk, I only need T.38 to work for inbound and outbound faxes; no problem here. On the BRI-Port however, it is quite a different story: Here, I need both Fax and Modem working. The modem functionality is required by a Power Generator to call for maintenance in case of failure (or be called on a designated number for preventive checks). Furthermore, there also is a Postage Meter that also requires outbound modem comms.
Digging through the configuration documents, I see that the UC500-Series does not support Fax-passthrough and modem-passthrough to be enabled simultaneously as they are handled similarly.
If anyone has come across a solution for my problem, please let me know.

If you use BRI and the fax or modem is conneceted to a FXS port in the same router, you don't need to worry about anything. It will work fine without any configuration.

Issue with Linksys Router and Modem with Vonage Device

Hello,
I have a Linksys Router and Cable Modem. Plus I have Vonage for my home phone. I have been having several problems and now, my Vonage phone will not work at all. I have cable internet and my ISP is Cox Commuication. I do not know how to connect my Vonage device with my Router and Modem. People have been giving me advice, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone know how to intergrate all three of these items together? Basically which plug goes where. Currently my phone is not working. The only thing that is in use right now is my linksys cable modem. I have the power cord plugged in, the blue cord from the modem plugged into my laptop, and the cable from the modem to the wall jack. Please help. Thank-You!

The router should be online first. Can you get into the router's configuration page?
The box said windows xp or better... So I installed Linux!

Fax and modem via Drop & Insert card (VWIC 2MFT-E1-DI)

Currently installing pair of 2610XM rtrs with Drop & Insert cards (VWIC 2MFT-E1-DI) between them.
At each side there is PABX connected via E1 to Drop&Inser card, and 2Mbs leased line between locations.
Configured 15 CH for data and 15 CH for voice.
Data works fine.
Voice services work fine as well, BUT!!!
- When trying to use analog modems between locations its not working
- When trying to send fax between locations, its hardly working (i.e. 1/10 success & even then copy is hardly readable).
All problems not present when I bypass routers and 2Mbs leased line with 120Ohm cable.
Any knowledge about similar problems?
Any tip for sorting this kind of problems, or this is by default behavior for such setup?

re synchronization, it is properly synchronized (as you can see in output attached.
All other phone services/functions (standard voice calls, CallBack, CLIP etc.) and data transfer is working fine. If any problems with link sync I suppose there should be some problems with those as well.

Fax and Scan with Airport Express

I have an Airport Express with my Mac and a Windows Vista PC running on my wireless network. I have a HP PSC printer, but I am unable to scan or fax from either computer. Any ideas if this is possible, and if so, how?

Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.

Yes, two that come to mind are:
o Connect the printer directly to the USB port on your Mac, or
o If the printer is Ethernet-enabled, you could connect it to the Ethernet port of the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) if the AX is reconfigured to be a remote base station in a Wireless Distribution System (WDS).

Try to call wfs.exe (MS fax and scan) with webutil_host !!

I would call from Forms the MS scan and fax application “wfs.exe”.
This is found under windows\system32.
call:
WEBUTIL_HOST.NONBLOCKING ('cmd /c C:\windows\system32\wfs.exe');
Unfortunately, nothing happens. No error message and no cmd-process remains open in the taskmanager.
with other applications it works. For example:
WEBUTIL_HOST.BLOCKING('cmd /c C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe');
WEBUTIL_HOST.BLOCKING('cmd /c C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe');
I use Forms 10.1.2.3 on Windows 7.
Does anyone have any idea or can test that if it works?

you can use
WEBUTIL.client_HOST ('cmd /c C:\windows\system32\wfs.exe',hide_screen);
instead of
WEBUTIL_HOST.NONBLOCKING ('cmd /c C:\windows\system32\wfs.exe');
which will run the wfs.exe file located in the windows\system32 directory. if client machine is on the windows O/S
you can view the process list by tasklist command on the command prompt.
you can use cmd /k option for remaining in that session for the errorlevel checking.

SOLVED: SPA2102, WRP400, SPA8000, SRP521 and SRP521-U FAX NSE fails with empty Payload c0000000

Hi Experts.
In my SIP network there is a Cisco PGW 9.6(1) used as PSTN gateway. PGW call agent controls many Cisco AS5400 via MGCP. We use Linksys SPA2102 to connect fax and modem devices.
Both PGW and AS5400 are configured to support FAX passthrough upspeeding via NSE event. Also SPA2102 devices are configured to support FAX passthrough NSE.
After many tests and debugs I see that SPA2102 doesn't recognize NSE event sent from AS5400.
From debug and wireshark traces you can see that AS5400 sends NSE 192 event correctly (see attachments).
So I've try to compare this scenario with a working one. The only difference is in the Payload content of NSE messages.
With AS5400 the Payload is c0000000. I think tath this is an empty payload while with different gateway or ATA the payload is c096c4e. In this last case SPA detects correctly NSE message.
Is this a BUG of SPA2102?

Hi experts, I updated this post after several months because we need information about the status of this issue.
Now we are using the firmware 2.00.21 for WRP400 (a beta) and the firmware 5.2.10 for SPA2102 devices.
No news about next release of WRP400 and the last software for SPA 5.2.12 doesn't fix this issue.
Now we must take a decision for buying thousand CPE for current year. If this issue will not fixed during this month we will be forced to change products and vendor !!!

"Could not complete scan" error when using Windows Fax and Scan

"Could not complete scan" error when using Windows Fax and Scan with a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus All-In-One network printer.
Printing is fine.
When using the HP Scan application, get the error "Scanner communication cannot be established".
When scanning from the printer itself it fails with the same message. In addition the printer panel displays the error:
"The scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following issues:
Connection to the computer is lost
The scanner is in use
OCR application is not installed"
My PC is a HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit, with ethernet cable to the router and ethernet cable to the printer
Originally ran Windows 8.0; recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.
Older separate Netgear router and modem was replaced with a newer Netgear Router/Modem, but both experienced the same problem.
There was no problem with the original Windows 8.0 configuration and only after upgrading to 8.1 did the problem emerge.
On my home netowrk I have an HP ProBook 6550b running Windows 7 sp1 that uses wireless to get to the Router, and it has no problem with scanning.
I have followed the recommendations of a number of articles relating to this issue (including: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02915410&product=4323659#N94), but there has been no change in behaviour.
The printer has a static IP address;
Power settings have been adjusted to Never for Turn off Hard Disk; Sleep and Hybrid Sleep.
Scanning has been tested with all firewalls and antivirus turned off and in Selective Startup.
The printer has been plugged directly into the power socket.
With all these settings the Windows 8.1 cannot scan while the Windows 7 laptop with wireless to the router has no problems.
Appreciate any insights into this problem.
I can only surmise that the problem is a compatibility problem between the 8600 Printer and Windows 8.1.
Any ideas?

You can determine if there is compatiblity between the printer and PC by checking the Windows 8.1 hardware compatibility list. I have done that and it is shown to be fully compatible. If the driver you installed before was only the basic driver,it would explain the lack of scan and copy functionality.
Download and install the Windows 8.1 full feature driver and software on the HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit PC .

Hp Fax and voice calls mixed up

I have one phone which runs two lines (fax and calls) with two separate numbers, this line runs to the hp printer into "line 1" and the fax is currently set to the correct fax number and is programmed to pick up the fax after two rings. The problem is that when I receive a phone call, the call is being picked up by the fax after two rings and the fax machine is not recieving or sending faxes..... Hope that makes sense

It sounds like, you have 1 phone line, with 2 numbers, thus you are using distinctive ring. From your description, it seems to me the printer is not setup to detect only the distinctive rink, instead it is picking up every ring pattern. I have a HP G60-23US lap top.
For a special application I need to replace the basic "data/fax" modem with a "voice/data" modem. Where can I find detailed specifications for size of the basic CX 11256 modem so I can look for a replacement.

I am having some serious issues with firefox, i can't print anything because it is stuck on fax and I can't use any of the drop down menus on any site

I am having some serious issues with firefox to the point of choosing another search engine. I can't print anything because it is stuck on fax and won't let me change it to my printer when i do try to select my printer it jumps right back to fax. The drop down menus do not work on any of the sites I go to. For example when purchasing clothes and you have to choose a size from a drop down menu I can't do it when I click on the drop down menu it doesn't work at all. I don't have a virus I ran my virus protector and no viruses are present. I don't have any suspicious issues going on with my computer so there has to be something in Firefox that is causing my issues. I tried internet explorer and I don't have any issues there. I hope you can help me because I love Firefox and would really like to continue to use it.

Lots of issues there, main one getting fcpx going again, try deleting the preferences using the utility deveoped by these guys.

Do you mean an Airport Extreme Base Station connected to a Comcast Modem?

Cannot make Canon PIXMA MX922 fax to work with "Windows Fax And Scan" on Windows 7, 8.1

I have Canon PIXMA MX922 multifunction printer installed wireless on iMac OS X Mavericks. It works great but there is no fax drivers for Mac. I have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 installed on Parallel Desktop. I am able to print and scan on these machines. I can scan using "Windows Fax and Scan" and other programs including My Image Gardens but no luck with faxing. I can send faxes using print function and chosing a Cannon MX920 series fax driver. The problem is to recieve faxes. I've connected MX922 wireless and wired with no help.
Does anyone have the same problem? Any ideas?

In case this is going to fix itself in 25 hours I will check for the issue then. I'm gonna let you know whether the issues has disappeared.
But it sounds to me a little bit, like you have been expecting that behaviour? Have you? Especially within a Lab it is very confusing to have test clients which appear fully functional 25 hours after the setup has been succeeded.
I've followed your annotation and posted the log files on the Connect portal.

PO output with mail, fax and print

I have created a PO with message type medium 5 (i.e. External send).
Now I go inside 'Communication method' and I can see communication strategy field, I select EML there (i.e EMAIL, FAX, PRINT).
Now after saving PO is getting mailed and also fax is working, but it is not printing out.
1. Is there any separate settings required for print out?
If I select medium as print out then print is working.
Please advice.
