Fax log: cannot display

Using my Mac's internal fax system with internal modem, I sent a fax yesterday. Today I wanted to check the number I had sent it to. I went to Syst. Prefs/Print & Fax/Fax/Set Up Fax Modem. I double-clicked on 'Internal Modem'. The log page appeared, with 'Active' selected and showing no faxing. Quite correct so far. So I clicked 'Completed'. The pane went slightly grey, but nothing else happened, even after I waited for several minutes. Then I could not close this window, or the previous one (which was still visible on screen), and had to go to the internal modem and shut it down before the windows closed.
Can someone please tell me what is going wrong and how I can access the fax log? Thank you in anticipation.

Thanks very much, BDAqua — I had quite forgotten about CUPS. I can find every print job I have done in months there , but my fax isn't there. I am beginning to wonder whether I deleted it from the record somehow.

    I cannot delete any of the fax log entires using the HP Solution Center. The delete button cannot be highlighted. I have deleted the entries on the fax/printer. As a result I cannot get any new updates on faxes sent. Any ideas? Thank you.

    I've had a response from Mike Sombrio, but for some reason it's not appearing on this thread.  Mike's comments were:
    "Janet, followed your link and the driver and an update are right there! http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4159&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&s w_lang=&product=3737195#N181"
    Mike - thanks for this :-)  I've downloaded the patch (the only thing that's available for download), reset the printer (again!), and installed the patch.  So far [fingers VERY tightly crossed] it seems to be working.  :-)
    I have wondered actually if rather than being a problem with Mail, it's more to do with software updates - I did an update (via App Store updates) on 11th April for a new version of Textwrangler.  I think the problem may be happening because any App Store update is wiping the HP driver patch (which actually I've installed previously, but forgot about - so particular thanks to Mike for unintentionally reminding me about it), and so it needs re-installing again after each App Store update.  Would this be likely I wonder?

  • Internet Explorer7 cannot display the Webpage in forms 10.1.2.3

    Hi all,
    I have installed forms 10.1.2.0.2 to my laptop under Windows Vista Home Premium and followed the following steps :
    1- changed virtual memory to (minimum of 2048 and maximum of 4096)
    2- I updated forms 10.1.2.0.2 it to forms 10.1.3 using pathch 3 (patch ID 5983622)
    3- I changed the application server Url in forms builder by choosing Edit, preferences, runtime and click on "Reset to default" button and added ?config=jpi at the end of the line.
    when i run the form I got the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage"
    when I called the link http://Computer_name:8889/forms/frmservlet?config=jpi
    I got a message asking me to allow downloading java plug-in 1.4.2 ( which I know that it is not certified with Vista), So i refused downloading and updated the formsweb.cfg file as Steve Cosner said in his thread Vista Jinitiator problem
    and added these new lines to the formsweb.cfg file:
    [[jdk15]]
    jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-FFFF-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    jpi_codebase=http://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jinstall-1_5_0_12-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,5,0,12
    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.5.0_12
    jpi_download_page=http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp
    baseHTML=basejpi.htm
    baseHTMLjinitiator=basejpi.htm
    baseHTMLjpi=basejpi.htm
    baseHTMLie=basejpi.htm
    When i run the form I got the same error message "internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage "
    Again I called the link : http://Computer_name:8889/forms/frmservlet?config=jpi
    then I got a message asking to allow loading and installing JRE 1.5.0_12 , and I allowed downloading and installation
    After all of this, the form doesn't run and I get the same message "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage "
    Is this a forms related problem or an Internet Explorer problem
    Please help

  • IE browser and Web Cache and SSL - Internet Explorer cannot display the web page

    When using IE8, IE9, or IE10 with Web Cache and SSL certain pages which display a lot of data returns the error - "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page."
    if we eliminate SSL but continue to use Web Cache, the error does *not* reproduce & If we eliminate Web Cache altogether the error again does *not* reproduce.  The error is only reproducible when we use SSL with Web Cache and if we use IE and we access *large* pages. The error is not reproducible with Firefox or Chrome. This is a Web Tier 11.1.1.7 installation with WebLogic 10.3.6 & Red Hat Enterprise 5 Linux x86-64

    Hello ,
    Try Below Workarounds:
    Workaround 1:
    Open Central Admin
    àApplication Management  à
    Configure Alternate access mapping-->Edit your web application zone and add your server name in Intranet zone. So default can be serverIP and intranet could be servername.
    Workaround 2:
    Might be there is some issue with DNS and try to check that WebApplication is pointing to correct IP or not.
    Also try to access your Sharepoint site using ip Address .. If you still gets error Kindly share the logs ..
    Best

  • Cannot display BIG5 characters for web applications deployed to 9iAS

    I have just installed the J2EE and Webcache module of Oracle9iAS Release 2 to
    my Windows NT Server 4.0 and deployed a simple web application to it. However,
    I found that the JSP cannot display chinese (Big5) characters correctly. My JSP
    is something like:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=BIG5" %>
    <HTML><BODY>
    <% String s = SOME_BIG5_CHARACTERS; %>
    <%= s %>
    </BODY></HTML>
    On the other hand, I tried to re-direct the standard output to a log file and
    do the following in my servlet.
    System.out.println(SOME_BIG5_CHARACTERS);
    Now, the Big5 characters CAN be displayed correctly in the log file. So, I am
    confused with where the problem is.
    Here are my settings to my 9iAS:
    1) Using regedit, I have set the NLS_LANG variable of the corresponding
    ORACLE_HOME to TRADITIONAL CHINESE_TAIWAN.ZHT16BIG5
    2) In the file %ORACLE_HOME%\Apache\Jserv\conf\jserv.properties, I have
    inserted the following line:
    wrapper.env=NLS_LANG=TRADITIONAL CHINESE_TAIWAN.ZHT16BIG5
    3) In the file %ORACLE_HOME%\Apache\Apache\conf\httpd.conf, I have added the
    following line:
    PassEnv NLS_LANG
    4) In the file %ORACLE_HOME%\opmn\conf\opmn.xml, I have added the following
    line to the corresponding OC4J instance:
    <environment>
    <prop name="NLS_LANG" value="TRADITIONAL CHINESE_TAIWAN.ZHT16BIG5"/>
    </environment>
    5) For my application server, I set the java option with -Dfile.encoding=Big5
    6) I have replaced the file font.properties with font.properties.zh_TW under
    %ORACLE_HOME%\jdk\jre\lib.
    7) I have set the following in the file orion-web.xml of my web application:
    <orion-web-app
    deployment-version="9.0.2.0.0"
    default-charset="Big5"
    jsp-cache-directory="./persistence"
    temporary-directory="./temp"
    internationalize-resources="false"
    default-mime-type="application/octet-stream"
    servlet-webdir="/servlet/">
    </orion-web-app>
    Anyone have idea on fixing my problem? Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Kae

    I met a similar problem before but not exactly your case. When I compile the JSP by Jdeveloper, it will convert the chinese characters to strange characters. It makes me crazy to handle the chinese characters ...
    Anyway, by my experience, you better isolate the chinese characters from your JSP or Java programs. Instead, put all language dependent text in a properties file and then use native2ascii to covert your properties file into Unicode. Of course, u need to change your page charset to UTF-8.
    U can get more idea from the following site.

  • ACE 4710 - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage randomly

    We have a ACE 4710 with a basic config, (see below).
    When clicking on a tab from a window within Interent explorer we occasionally get an issue with it returning: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" The details show "Access is denied" accessing a particular line of a javascript file.
    We have put one web server out of service in the farm to make sure that this isn't a result of stickyness not quite working.
    We have tested extensively by going directly to the web server directly without the load balancer and cannot reproduce the problem but we can produce the issue within a few minutes when going to the load balanced address.
    Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Have not heard of this one. Would consider setting IE "Delete browser history on exit" if you have not already. And setting "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to every time I visit the webpage.

  • Content Coding Error in Firefox/Internet Explorer cannot display webpage

    I can log into Beehive without any issues. I used to be able to go to Workspaces > All My Workspaces and see all the workspaces I had access to. From this list, I could get to any of these workspaces. Now when I go to the same navigation, I get in 'Content Coding Error' in Firefox 9 and 'Internet Explorer cannot display webpage' in Internet Explorer 7.
    If I find an email that invited me to a specific workspace, I can access that workspace only. I cannot find a way to access all workspaces I have access to within Beehive.
    Please let me know what other information I need to provide for assistance.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    https://beehiveonline.oracle.com/index.html is a public page with no obvious protection so anyone should be able to see it without any difficulty. If this is the page causing the issue then it suggests a local browser issue.
    If you are getting this after logging into https://beehiveonline.oracle.com/teamcollab then it means your account is not provisioned correctly. Contact us out of the forum with your details and we can check out if we have a provisioning issue. I would need your email address and any group you have been invited to be a member of - send it to [email protected]

    I cannot display google image/sometimes facebook image too using safari 6. please help

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

  • Sourcing/CLM 7 /IE 8: E-Sourcing cannot display this page.

    Good Afternoon,
    We are experiencing the following issue when logging out of Sourcing/CLM:
    1) Log out
    2) Try to log back in and recieve the following page:
    E-Sourcing cannot display this page.
    Click the browser back button to the previous page.
    I can get by this by closing the browser and opening up a new session.   I'm wondering if this is a common issue or possibly an IE or sourcing setting that's causing this.
    FYI- This is consistant behavior for system, enterprise and buyside/sellside user accounts.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Page Cannot display page

    Error : Cannot Display page
    You cannot complete this task because one of the following events caused a loss of page data
    possible causes:
    1.You have left your login session idle past the timeout period.
    2.A system failure has occured.
    3.The application server is incorrectly configured and does not send a session cookie to the client browser
    4.if you were testing in JDeveloper.
    1.Jdeveloper OC4J process did not fully shut down before restarting the application.
    2.you closed one of the internet expolrer windows while the request is being processed in another internet explorer window.closing an internet explorer window causes OC4J to expirre a user session.
    3.OC4J XML Files in your JDeveloper user home system directory have been modified or corrupted.
    Action :
    For the first two causes listed above ,please select the home link at the top of the application page to retun to the main menu.Then access this page again using the application's naviagtion controls (menu,links and so on) instead of using the browser's naviagtion controls like BAck and Forward.If you suspect
    that the application server is incorrectly configured .contact your system administrator.
    If you were testing in JDeveloper and suspect that you encountered one of the causes listed above,go to JDeveloper menu and select the option RUN|Terminate to terminate the OC4J process.Then re-run your application.If you still encounter this error,exit JDeveloper and remove the user home system directory .Then restart Jdeveloper and re-run your application.
    please help me

  • Error: Cannot Display page

    Hi All,
    I have a heavy transaction page with many LOVs, tables and view links. User would take more than 4-5 minutes to fill in all details. But I frequently get the following error when I am idle for 4 minutes. I specifically get error when I select, LOV or any bean with PPR, after 4 minutes. I checked ICX: Session Time value and Jserv/etc/zone.properties session.timeout values. Both are 30 mins. Is there any other setting that I am missing? I am aware that Passivation is not supported in 11.5.10 and R12 but still should I set AM: Retention Level to Manage State? Should I set profile option: FND: Passivation Level system?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    OC4J XML files in your JDeveloper user home system directory have been modified or corrupted.

    Didn't see earlier that it is happening for specific activity :) Looks interesting issue.
    Is it a custom page or seeded one? Any more exception detail on apache log or jdev log window?

  • Export to Excel Fails with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

    We have a couple of report servers all hosted internally on VMs.  They are all SSRS 2008 R2.
    For all of these, when viewing the reports remotely in IE, they run fine.  However when we try to export them to excel, a new tab opens in IE, but the tab just displays with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
    There are no other errors and it never progresses to save or open.
    THE SSRS log files dont contain any errors either so i dont think its a resource issue, but they do say steam=''
