Hi zeeshan2007,
To exempt ephone 68 from call-blocking; you need to add after-hour exempt on ephone68, check this link for further explanations:

  • Relay Mail from FAX Machine to the Outside World via GMAIL

Hey everyone, I am not really sure I am in the right place here, but I am tired of running into a brick wall over this issue.
    Here is my basic issue:
I have a fax machine that supports a functionality known as Fax to email. The machine is new, but Ricoh (5510nf) does not seem to be up on things when it comes to configuration.
The machine does not support SSL authentication, and for that matter I believe it requires an open relay to work (that is what Ricoh told me).
So what I need is for the fax machine to use the OS X mail services (or any service/program...) to send a scanned image along the net to the recipient's address. So I log into the fax machine via it's internal address, and the settings of the fax machine include the following:
    SMTP Server:
    POP Server:
    Host Name:
    E-Mail Address:
    Domain Name:
    Account Name:
    Password:
    Reception Interval(min.)
At first I thought this was going to be a no brainer, but it turns out that I am the no brainer.
The OS X Server is not really setup to do anything but serve files right now. It is not setup with DNS or other such services.

According to the available parameters you posted, the Fax machine supports authentication. This should be good enough to send through a mail server. It certainly does not require an open relay to send.
However, given that gmail requires SSL, you are indeed stuck. That said, I am not sure setting up your own mail server just for this makes lots of sense. Running a mail server has implications. You need to secure it to make sure it is not abused and it also requires a certain amount of maintenance.
I would rather try and use your ISP's SMTP server. Most likely they allow for sending without SSL and with authentication. Should this not be an option (unlikely), report back and I can try and help you to get your mail server up and running.

    Alex

  • Unable to fax between two ATA 187 attached fax machines

I have two fax machines attached to the VOIP network using ATA 187's using the T38 fax relay.  I am unable to send faxes between the two devices.  Has anybody experienced this issue and if so what did you do to resolve the issue.  Tried fax passthrough with no luck.  Also set the dial peer on the voice gateway to use the T38 fax protocol.  Thanks for any info.

Looks like I just answered my own question.  Since both of these devices are on the internal VOIP network, 4 digit dialing between devices worked.  I am able to send between the two ATA attached fax machines.  Originally I was trying to go outside, using 9xxxxxxx, which did not work.

  • Brother fax machine unable to fax to ATA186

We have a customer with a Brother 4750E fax machine. They are unable to fax multi page documents to our fax machines attached to ATA186. They are able to send with out a problem to other non-ATA fax machines. No one else has mentioned a problem. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Remember this:
    - ATA only allows speeds below 14.4K
    - ATA have 2 modes
Passtrough using NSE and Fax Only(no NSE)
    - Faxes also depens on Router configs. If Router is configured for passtrough, ATA should be configured for passtrough only.
    - ATA load have been historically buggy for sending Faxes, same with routers.
    - Test all fax modes and debug NSE packets if fax passtrough is being used.
    - Fax protocol using passthough or fax mode is very sensible to IP packet lost. If you lost more that 0.1% packets, fax quality will be awfull or will fail.
    - ATA and routers does not support G3 upspeeding to 33.4K
    - H323 and MGCP configs for faxes are very different. There are bug for MGCP and H323 for faxing.

  • Use of Fax Machines on Broad Band Talk

Does anyone know if the broadband talk phone line is stable enough to allow it to be used as a fax line? I know fax is old tech but we still need one for some of our customers and suppliers (all to do with signatures!) and I am not about to rent a dedicated line! I know that in the past, phase jitter meant that fax machines were not too good on voip lines.

Are you sure that the incoming calls are coming in on your broadband talk number, and not your PSTN number?
Remember that the phone socket on the hub will receive both lines, if you have set it up that way. The PSTN is simply routed straight through to the socket on an incoming calll. This does not use VOIP.

  • I installed Firefox 2 days ago (Windows Vista)& my fax machine / HP 6700 will not accept faxes now, how do I correct this problem?

my fax machine will not receive a fax.
Is there some sort of firewall or something preventing this?
or a control panel somewhere where I choose this option?
I re set the fax machine and that did not help.
None of your tutorials helped either. I could not find anything related.
I am a small business and need my fax machine.

Contact HP to set up your Fax, as edmister said.
Browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) have no interaction with your fax machine, faxes are analog technology run over telephone lines, browsers are digital technology, that while it can be run over a phone line (like in DSL) Has no impact on your fax.

  • Junk characters in the purchase order fax received from the fax machine

    Dear Experts,
I am facing the following issue.
I am sending the PO form to a fax number from ME22N using the FAX medium. The PO form is designed by sapscript.
I am getting the fax too from the fax machine. But it is not in the format designed by sapscript. I get junk characters printed line by line. For 1 page of PO form, I get around 7 pages printed with the junk characters.
I checked the trace in SOST, it is taking the device type converts OTF to PDF.
I checked the settings in the SCOT transaction. The device type is set as PDF1. I changed various device types but still the same.
The printer I am using is Fuji Xerox - DocuCentre-III C4405
Any idea how to get the form in the right format.

  • I do not have a fax machin, but get a fax message when I try to print something off the internet and can't get rid of the pop-up so how to fix?

I have been dealing with this problem about a week. I have turned the computer completely off at night, but it does not correct the situation . I cannot print anything off the internet as long as the fax message is on there. I do not have a fax machine and do not want one.

What is that fax message '''on'''? <br />Hard to understand how that is a Firefox support issue as Firefox doesn't have any fax capabilities.
Perchance, do you have an all-in-one printer which can receive a fax message? Printer, scanner, and fax machine combined.<br />
If so, try looking at your user manual for that all-in-one to learn how to print that message. Or consult with a support forum for that brand all-in-one printer.
Or maybe your problem is with the Windows 7 Fax and Scan feature? <br />

  • SPA 3102: Troubles with fax machine connected to SPA and dialing by IP PBX

    Afternoon!
I have a fax machine connected to the SPA3102 and i have configured an extension from the IP PBX, that it's working as a fax, so the problem here is that sometimes when i'm sending a fax, this one fail, it shows an error, the other problem is that i'm not receiving any fax at all, the people get the tone, and actually send the fax, and here it shows "receiving" (it's the weird part) but after 40-50 seconds everything fail, it shows "error communication"
    Hoping for help
    Victor

    Hello,
as far as I know, FAX and VoIP aren't the best friends - those technologies are not designed to work together smoothly ...
You may try following tuning :
Set your fax machine to 9600 (not 14400),
Make sure you only use G711a (Europe) or G711u (US) codec (fax will not work with others).
Activate  T38 FAX support if your device FW offers such possibility.

  • Fax machine and voip

I have been trying to figure out if my fax machine Officejet 4630 e-all-in-one functions of voip. How do I find that out? I am having a difficult time trying to get my fax machine working. I am not able to receive or send out faxes. Installation is all right but no luck. If you can please help me, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, Hope the following article answers your question:     http://www.3cx.com/pbx/fax-voip/ Other option: use eFax and you don't need a fax machine (or AIO/MFP Printer). Please contact eFax:     https://www.efax.com.au/features Regards.

  • Fax Machines Obsolete?

My old Brother fax machine finally broke but with new technological advances I am not sure if I should replace it with another traditional machine, or is sending a fax via the computer extremely common and easy now? The main reason I would need a fax is to send an occasional RX to a pharmacy and some other official documents. I assume that would require a scanner, which I don't have. Would it be better to buy a scanner instead of a fax machine? I have a new stand alone Laser printer so I don't care to get an all-in-one machine. If I fax through my computer, can I still fax to someone that has a traditional fax machine and can they fax to my computer?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm really new to this.
    Thanks.

For typical low-volume use, you should get an inkjet "all-in-one" printer-fax-scanner-copier. They are relatively inexpensive, and is more convenient for things like faxing something or making a single printed copy than scanning a document and then printing or faxing. To scan something, you need a single-purpose scanner anyways, which would probably cost as much as a combo device.
Also, they are color, so that would be something your laser printer cannot do, unless you have a more expensive laser printer that does color.
Yes, you can use your computer to fax to a regular fax machine and receive fax.

  • Problem getting scan of pix from printer/scanner/fax machine

Long used P E to get pix scanned by printer/scanner/fax.  Then I bought a slide scanner and installed, and PE brought in slides scanned by separate machine.  Disconnected slide scanner.  Now whenI try to get pix scanned by printer/scanner/fax, it says it "Can't find the slide scanner" and SHUTS DOWN.  How can I reset PE to get the scanned pix from the printer/scanner/fax again.  It has no  trouble going to the printer/scanner/fax to print pix.
    Cindi

Open Organizer and on the top menu click Edit à Preferences à Scanner
I tried the website and help searching for scan, I have had every PE  since
2 and have 48,000 pix in my catalogue, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about
the program. I also searched under file.  I usually go to Get photos  and
thought it should give a choice under scanner there.  Never thought to  go to
    Edit and Preferences.
