Integrating a fax machine into CUCM 9
Dear All,
We've having a new request concerning Fax Machines integration.
Kindly confirm the possibility of integrating an existing fax machine into CUCM 9
we have a CUCM 9 cluster with Voice gateway includng E1 ISDN PRI.
If possible kindly provide details about protocols and feasibikity.
Awaiting your feedback,Hi.
If faxes flow is not so high, you can consider ONRAMP and OFFRAMP VG application.
Here is a doc.

Creating VLAN on Cisco 3800 Series
Hello
I am new to networking. We have a Cisco 3800 series router with 64 ports. We have connected servers and PC's directly to the back of the router. Almost all of the ports are used with the exception of few. We would like to create a VLAN for the remaining few ports. I am able to telnet to the router or connect directly using hyper terminal.
I have been told that we cannot create VLAN's directly on the router. For that purpose we need to first get a switch and connect the switch to the router, then create VLAN’s using the switch. Can someone please provide some tips? Any suggestions would be nice…ThanksAppreciate you getting back. Here is the "show vlan-switch" output
----------------------->
#show vlan-switch

1003 token-ring-default active

1005 trnet 101005 1500 - - 1 ibm - 0 0

As before I do not see any VLAN's set up. How come all the ports are not showing up on default VLAN 1. Maybe I can create a new VLAN and assign 2 or 3 ports to it. Please advise...Thanks -
1600 Series Router & WIC-1ADSL
I have some 1600 series routers and was hoping to use them for my Broadband connection.
Is this WIC compatable with the 1600 series router?
What is the required IoS if this is posible?
Thanks IanGanesh,Thank you for the response, however, that article is for the WIC-1DSU-T1 as far as I can see.I was wanting information regarding the WIC-1ADSL. which does not appear to be recognised in my 1603R routers. Thanks Ian
Ian,
The ADSL WAN interface cards (WICs) supported on the Cisco 1700/2600/3700 series routers are also supported on the Cisco 1800 (modular), 2800, 3800 series Integrated Services Routers (ISRs).
As per the link it start supported only from 1700 series routers ony.
Check out the below link hope that clears out your query !!

Unable to fax wirelessly with my HP 6500 fax machine
I am trying to fax PDF documents from my imac computer utilizing my HP 6500 E709n all in one series fax which I am connecting to wirelessly in my office. I have downloaded all drivers necessary and my "FAX Hardware Test" passed with flying colors BUT when I attempt to actually fax a document a get a error in the print que that says "Waiting for Modem to become available". How can I get this to work ?Any suggestion? The fax machine works when faxing it's just when I attempt to do it through the imac that the above error comes up.
You shouldn't need to run it from the BIOS. You can access the Hardware Diagnostic Tool from Windows.
Start , All Programs, PC Help & Tools, and then Hardware Diagnostic Tools.
Here is the full document with other ways to run the tool as well. Hardware DIagnostics is at the bottom.

Brother fax machine unable to fax to ATA186
We have a customer with a Brother 4750E fax machine. They are unable to fax multi page documents to our fax machines attached to ATA186. They are able to send with out a problem to other non-ATA fax machines. No one else has mentioned a problem. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks,
AndyRemember this:
- ATA only allows speeds below 14.4K
- ATA have 2 modes
Passtrough using NSE and Fax Only(no NSE)
- Faxes also depens on Router configs. If Router is configured for passtrough, ATA should be configured for passtrough only.
- ATA load have been historically buggy for sending Faxes, same with routers.
- Test all fax modes and debug NSE packets if fax passtrough is being used.
- Fax protocol using passthough or fax mode is very sensible to IP packet lost. If you lost more that 0.1% packets, fax quality will be awfull or will fail.
- ATA and routers does not support G3 upspeeding to 33.4K
- H323 and MGCP configs for faxes are very different. There are bug for MGCP and H323 for faxing. -
Use of Fax Machines on Broad Band Talk
Does anyone know if the broadband talk phone line is stable enough to allow it to be used as a fax line? I know fax is old tech but we still need one for some of our customers and suppliers (all to do with signatures!) and I am not about to rent a dedicated line! I know that in the past, phase jitter meant that fax machines were not too good on voip lines.
Are you sure that the incoming calls are coming in on your broadband talk number, and not your PSTN number?
Remember that the phone socket on the hub will receive both lines, if you have set it up that way. The PSTN is simply routed straight through to the socket on an incoming calll. This does not use VOIP.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

Noting that Apple no longer offers an external USB fax modem product, are similar kinds of devices (like, for example, USRobotics5637 or Zoom3095) reliable for sending (via the print menu in OS X 10.6.x applications) and receiving?
An existing "automatic fax switch" is already connected to the landline, and it routes incoming calls now to the phone handset (after initially listening for incoming fax handshaking signals, which it is assumed would be routed to the iMac -- where they are archived and displayed is yet to be determined) or to the voice answering machine if the handset isn't picked-up after a few rings. This has been serving admirably as a way to screen incoming calls, BTW!)). My Internet connection is an ISP DSL, which wouldn't come into play if I'm sending/receiving fax via landline, at "dial-up" speeds and protocols through te external USB fax modem, as I understand it.
My understanding is that the USB external fax modem would be connected to a USB port (USB keyboard or rear panel of the iMac) and the RJ11 connector on the other end of that fax modem would be connected to RJ11 "fax modem" receptical on the existing "automatic fax switch". I'm guessing that the "automatic fax switch" would go off-hook and dial up the phone number of the distant fax machine, from phone number data provided in the "send a fax" set-up invoked when "send a fax" is selected as a "print" option in an OS X 10.6.x application.
Please advise if the equipment and scenario described, and elaborate on anything I'm missing, will work for the intended goal.
thanks,

2900 Series Router - Over 700 failed login attempts - How do I find the source IP?
There is a 2900 series router Version 15.0(1)M1, in our company, recently the logs show that there were over 700 failed login attempts to try and gain privelege level 15 access. Is there a way to see the source IP from the host that is attempting the logins?

my fax machine will not receive a fax.
Is there some sort of firewall or something preventing this?
or a control panel somewhere where I choose this option?
I re set the fax machine and that did not help.
None of your tutorials helped either. I could not find anything related.
I am a small business and need my fax machine.Contact HP to set up your Fax, as edmister said.
Browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) have no interaction with your fax machine, faxes are analog technology run over telephone lines, browsers are digital technology, that while it can be run over a phone line (like in DSL) Has no impact on your fax. -

Junk characters in the purchase order fax received from the fax machine
Dear Experts,
I am facing the following issue.
I am sending the PO form to a fax number from ME22N using the FAX medium. The PO form is designed by sapscript.
I am getting the fax too from the fax machine. But it is not in the format designed by sapscript. I get junk characters printed line by line. For 1 page of PO form, I get around 7 pages printed with the junk characters.
I checked the trace in SOST, it is taking the device type converts OTF to PDF.
I checked the settings in the SCOT transaction. The device type is set as PDF1. I changed various device types but still the same.
The printer I am using is Fuji Xerox - DocuCentre-III C4405
Any idea how to get the form in the right format.

U can done through this by the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. IN that there is a Method PROCESS_ITEM.
Just Implement ur Code inside this and u can change the Texts here.
IF_PURCHASE_ORDER_ITEM_MM - IF_LONGTEXTS_MM~GET_TEXT
By this u can get the texts and for setting
IF_LONGTEXTS_MM~SET_TEXT
Hope this can solve ur probs.
