Fax Transmit Error

Hi Expert,
I have a problem when sending a fax to PSTN. This is a logical connection.
Fax-PSTN-NECPABX-VG-SatelitLink-CallManager-ATA-Analog Fax Machine
but if i try using this one
Fax-NECPABX-VG-Callmanager-ATA-Analog Fax Machine
it's working
We using g729 codec
Can somebody give me a advice to resolve this.
Best Regards
Andri

The first connection has both a satellite link and a PSTN connection - either of which could be the source of the problem.
Try to rule out each of these in turn, then concentrate on whichever seems to have the problem.
Regards
Aaron

  • Transmit error in 2621 router

    Dear All,
I got the following errors from my cisco 2621 router - the network connection between our ISP and our router suddenly unstable and have packet lost. But after router reload, the problem will be resolved.
This error message does not show up from time to time but today it happen again. Last time this problem happened, i had checked with ISP engineer to make sure "Duplex & Speed" are the same between our router and their network switch.
From Cisco website, the problem explanation is "Possible causes are usually incorrect cabling or a non-compliant number of hubs in the network. Bad network interface cards (NICs) can also cause late collisions". I personally don't think this is the problem, so any other reason ? E.g. IOS version not stable ?

    Hello Alex,
just to make sure: when you say that you have checked speed and duplex settings on both sides, does that mean that both sides are set to fixed full duplex and speed settings (no autonegotiate) ?
As for the UNDERFLO error message, this is what CCO says:
    Error Message
    %AMDP2_FE-3-UNDERFLO: AMDP2/FE([dec]/[dec]), Transmit underflow
Explanation While transmitting a frame, the controller chip's local buffer received insufficient data because data could not be transferred to the chip fast enough to keep pace with its output rate. Normally, such a problem is temporary, depending on transient peak loads within the system.
Recommended Action The system should recover. No action is required.

  • Pixma 330 fax output error check paper size

I received a fax on my Pixma 330. The document came through fine, but now I have "fax output error, check paper size and press OK". The paper size is correct, and when I press OK, it prints out the original document again, then gives me the same error message. If I turn off the machine, when I turn it back on, it again prints the document, then gives me the error message. The machine will not let me do anything except press OK. How can I get this to go away? Thanks.

    Hi JWK,
Please make sure that the paper is loaded correctly and the settings are correct.  To do this, please follow these steps:
    1. Flatten the four corners of the paper before loading it.
    Note
Align the edges of paper neatly before loading. Loading paper without aligning the edges may cause paper jams.
If paper is curled, hold the opposing curled corners and gently bend them in the opposite direction until the paper becomes completely flat. See Paper is curled..
To avoid curling, handle paper as follows.
    - When you do not print, remove unused paper from the Rear Tray, put them back into the package, and keep it on a level surface.
    - Take out only the necessary number of sheets from the package, just before printing.
    2. Load the paper.
    (1) Open the Paper Support, raise it, then tip it back.
    (2) Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.
    (3) Slide the Paper Guides (A) to open them, and load the paper in the center of the Rear Tray WITH THE PRINT SIDE FACING YOU
    Important
Always load paper in the portrait orientation (B). Loading paper in the landscape orientation (C) can cause paper jams.
    (4) Slide the Paper Guides (A) to align them with both sides of the paper stack.
Do not slide the Paper Guides too hard. The paper may not be fed properly.
    Note:
Do not load sheets of paper higher than the Load Limit Mark(D).
    After loading paper
When using the machine to copy or print without a computer, select the size and type of the loaded paper in Page size and Media type of the settings screen in each mode.

  • Fax sending error, line busy?

    Hy all!
I have some problem with the fax sending from the PC. I setted up the fax recieving and it work perfectly without any problem, but when I try to send a fax to someone through the "Windows fax and scan"  it writes, the line is busy, trying
    again. But nothing happens.
I tried many things, for ex.:
type the region code differently at the recipient infos tab.
    update the fax modem driver.
The strange is that the recieving is work perfectly, but the sending is not, and I cannot see any error or something in the event viewer and in the "windows scan and fax" program. Just that: "line busy, trying again"
If anyone could help me I really appreciate. Many thanks in advance.
PS.: Type of the Fax modem: http://www.startech.com/Networking-IO/IR-BT-TC/External-V92-56K-USB-Fax-Modem-Dial-up-Data-Modem~USB56KEM3

    Hi,
from tools -fax settings, select the correct fax device. Make sure 'allow this device to send faxes is checked'.
create a 'fax account' to be able to send faxes.
When creating the fax, make sure the faxnumber is formatted correctly.
Check if can get the faxmodem to dial as a modem (network and sharing center, connect to a network,...) if not, make sure the driver is up to date and is configured properly for your environment.

  • Windows fax & scan error

I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.
Just recently I am unable to send a fax. The recipient has 2 numbers and both do not go through.
When I try to send the fax; new fax>to,subject, message body(Cut & Paste)>send>dial tone>hand shake>sending page> X(stopped) "Fax can't be sent because of an unexpected error....") "Fatal error" shows in details.
I have sent over 30 faxes to these numbers using my current system; Windows 7 (x64), internal fax modem, AT&T U-verse
I have sent a test fax (just the word "Test" in the body) to an HP fax number an received a reply. No problems. I also went through 'Device Manager' to try to update the driver. [Everything is working properly and I have the latest driver installed]

  • Fax Modem Error

I recently upgraded to 10.7.5 and am now getting a error message when I try to use my fax.  I had no problem prior to upgrading sending and receiving faxes.
This is the error message I get:  You cannot use an Apple USB Modem with this computer.
When I look in the Fax window it says:  Waiting for Modem to become available.  And, Modem disconnected or off line.
How do I send faxes with this new upgrade?
    Thanks.

    grwjr,
Well, it appears you have installed the HP software OK, but you are following the wrong procedure to send a fax.
As sig said, make sure you have a phone line connected to the HP all-in-one. Then, follow these steps to fax a document:
-Open the document on on your computer.
    -Select File->Print
-From the drop-down menu at the top, next to "Printer" select the fax printer.
    -Click the Print button.
That's it. To use your HP all-in-one's fax function, you do not use any of your Mac's built-in fax capability. So, don't bother with any of the built-in fax commands.

Theres lots of good options in the market but the one i have used the most and wouldn't be affraid to recommend is Rightfax.

  • Fax protocol error

I try to send several fax documents to different numbers. i have connection, then "sending" message. It stops at the end with message "hold until xxx". Any solution ?

For the longest time I used FAXstf in OS9 and all was more than beautiful. Then they sold to SmithMicro, it went to pot. So I was very happy to see Apple include FAX capability in the OS. If only it worked. It seems to be one of those peripheral applications that they include for looks not function. I have had a couple of successful FAXes go through, from the other room. But when I need it to really work it seems to just does its own thing. I set it to pick up on two rings and the phone is still ringing 6 later, but the menu bar is saying "answering . . . ". I activate it manually and it still takes longer than the sending machine will allow for a wait to pick up. I'm not real sure where the problems may lie, because I also use PageSender (Great App) that use to work flawlessly until the later OS's. So I'm beginning to think that Apple has changed something in the way the modem operates that makes it hard for this kind of software to do its job. When it works, It works great. But . . .
So I agree that it is an Apple thing that there are problems in this area. And what with them abandoning old technologies, I don't see much, if any support, or further development on this. After all, the new laptops don't come with modems anymore.
If FAXing is important, you might look into PageSender. It has many nice features that the Apple software doesn't. Like access to other address books other than Apples, FAX to eMail, and more.

  • Laserjet M1536dnf fax error report - result-Line Surge(2)

We use HP LaserJet MFP as stand alone fax machines. Earlier this week, the one that had been in service for 6 years would not receive nor send a fax. All other functions worked well. The replacement the M1536dnf, will send and receive faxes but after a few attempts. The two errors that have been coming up are Line Surge(2) and Comm Error 232. When I dial our fax number with my phone I can hear static on the line at times.
After replacing all the patch cables that are connected to this line (fax and postage machine are on this line), nothing has changed.
I am thinking the telco has made changes which is now giving us these errors.
Any other ideas what to check for or what the Line Surge error may mean?

    Hi @benamen,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your Laserjet M1536dnf will not send and receive faxes. I am sorry to hear this, but I am happy to help!
I would recommend to go through these guides, to verify everything is connected properly:
    Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.
    Troubleshooting Fax Issues.
According to this guide, Interpreting Error Codes in Fax Communication Error or Fax History Reports.
    Error Code: 232, 233, 234, 235 ECM, 236 ECM, 237
    Definitions
A communication failure occurred between the two machines.
The user at the remote machine might have pressed the Stop key.
The call waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line. Do not use call waiting on a line with a fax machine.
The power at the remote machine was interrupted, or deliberately turned off causing the fax session to be interrupted.
    Solutions
If the error persists, and error correction is in use for the fax session, disable ECM. Fax quality might be degraded.
Set the host machine to receive at a slower transmission speed.
Retry the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power brownouts and other power-related problems.
After reading this information, and verifying the connection is setup properly, I would definitely consider contacting your phone provider.
    Hope this helps!
