Faxing double sided documents with HP 6700

OfficeJet 6700 Premium with Win 7 Pro 64 bit.
How can I  fax a group of double sided documents.
Although my printer contains a duplexer, I don't see how to take advantage of this feature when faxing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

The Officejet 6700 does not have a duplexer in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) that would allow copying or faxing the back side of documents automatically.  For the Officejet 6700 you will need to do one of the following:
Copy the back side, then interleve the copies with the original and feed this through the ADF, or
Load the pages manually on the scanner glass.
If you have many double sided copies to fax or this is a regular occurance you may prefer a printer that has double sided scanning capability in the ADF.  The HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus and HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium are two models I am familar with that have this capability.

  • Photosmart 7520 faxing double-sided documents

    My wife and I worked on trying to fax both sides of a piece of paper for entirely too long this morning. We used both the ADF and the glass flatbed, but were never prompted for another page for our fax. Surely there must be a way to fax both sides of a document without copying the other side and feeding 2 docs through the ADF (?)...
    The closest thing I have found might be to force a "pause" while sending this (?) but I haven't tried this because I don't see how that would work for inserting another page of fax; and I need to get to other work.
    I have read through the documentation and searched online for this answer without finding it. Please help me and all of us that may have this same trouble.

    Really...
    Would it be that difficult for you to have added a prompt for another page during the faxing process?
    Wow...
    Maybe you, at HP, could consider this limitation and figure out a better solution.

  • How do I use the double sided printing with my HP Officejet 6500A plus

    I need help with learning to use the double sided printing with my HP Officejet 6500A Plus

    Click on the Show Details button just above:
    You can configure various options from the dropdown menu just below Orientation.
    Printing two-sided requires a two-sided adaptor for the printer. Otherwise, you have to print out odd numbered pages first, turn them over and reinsert into the paper feeder, then print even numbered pages. If you do it right you get a nice two-sided document. If you do it wrong all the even numbered pages will be upside down.

    Hi,
    Automatic Two-Sided printing is not currently supported by the ePrint Service, as you may find any of the service capabilities and limitations listed below:
    Duplexing (printing on both sides of the page) is not supported.

    Hi,The 6830 only provide double sided printing, it does not offer 2 sided copying, a such can only be done manually. You may find the printer specifications below:Scanning options (ADF): Single-sidedhttp://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=E3E02A&opt=A80&sel=DEF#merch-tech-specs Regards,Shlomi

  • Printing a double sided document

    Hi
    I am trying to print a double sided document, it tells me to do this I need to select Two sided US letter which is not available in the drop down menu. Help please thanks

    What tells you?
    What drop down menu?
    What printer are you using?
    Does your printer support duplexing? If it doesn't you will have to print one side and feed the paper back into the printer to print the 2nd side.
    Why are you printing to US letter if you are in the UK?

  • Double sided printing with 6700 e

    Hi
    I'm using MS office on a Mac 10.8.4
    I ahve searched simialr posts, but advice given conflicts. Some say this printer will not do duplex printing. I haven't the time to do the manual odd/even pages workaround, I print docs with many pages, it's too much of an inconvenience.
    This printer WILL print double sided, but the option to do so only comes up when printing pdf files. Opening Word files up in pdf preview will print double sided, but the back pages are upside down. Pdfs don't do this, they duplex properly. Trying to print Word files won't even show the two sided option.
    I can't find the  printer properties box to investigate, and when opening the printer device, it doesn't have a driver tab, which was one fix another post suggested.
    This question was solved.

    Ok - for the benefit of others, and I've seen a swag of posts about this very issue with Macs, I found a solution. It is a driver issue, HP sould be aware of this, and not fob people off about it being a Word-related software issue
    (I had previously already downloaded latest drivers from HP, that never worked, only the 1.0 driver installed each time.)
    First, I updated my Mac OSX software (may not be neccessary).
    Then I added the printer again with HP Setup.
    When it asks for how to install device - with Airprint or 6700, I selected 6700. I believe this installs with different drivers.
    Now when I open my printer queue, instead of the driver version showing as 1.0, as per other reinstall attempts, driver are now  4.1.2
    Now to print in Word, go to the layout submenu in print preview, and select long side binding
    Prints on both sides with correct operintation.

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium double sided printing with Word

    I have a new HP Officejet 6700 Premium printer.  When printing a pdf the double sided printing option works.  When printing from Word, it does not.  Can you tell me what settings I need to change to make this happen?

    Hi,
    From Word click on File and then select Print. the print dialog appears.
    Click the Printer Properties link. the Printing Preferences dialog appears.
    Within the Layout tab, set the Print on both sides option as Flip on long edge.
    Click OK to confirm the changes, than click the Print button.
    Please let me know if that helps,
    Shlomi

  • Deskjet 930c does not do double sided printing with windows 7

    We have just obtained a new machine with Windows 7 and connected the existing Deskjet 930c via a usb cable.
    Under windows XP it was possible to select double sided printing and a prompt was displayed on the screen to turn the paper round.
    This is not happening under windows 7. Is there something we have not done? Or is it not possible any more.
     It does go through the motion of double sided printing but does not stop to change the paper.
    Any ideas anyone - we do a lot of double sided printing and we hav spent hours trying to sort this out.

    Please look at the HP Support page,
    http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00098827&lc=ja&dlc=ja&cc=jp
    Unfortunately, I could not find an equivalent page in English.  This is for Win XP and Vista, but I checked
    that a similar logic can be applied to Windows 7, too.
    step 1 to 3 is to show property of the printer Deskjet9xxC.
    step 4 is to select device setting tab
    step 5: change "installable option" from "uninstalled" to "already installed"
    step 6: OK
    step 7: select print setting
    step 8: select layout tab, and choose either long edge or short edge
    that is all.
    In my Japanese Windows 7 environment, when I double-click the "HP DeskJet 930C/932C/935C" icon, there are three sub items appeared.  Two out of these three were used in the above steps.
    Please try.

  • HP Laserjet 1300 Manual Double Sided Printing with Windows 7

    I just purchased a new laptop with windows 7, love the interface but have some hiccups here and there.  And the one that is the biggest pain is printing.  I have a HP Laserjet 1300 connected via a linksys print server.  Single sided printing works just fine, but I used to be able to (and still can from my work laptop running XP and from my wifes Laptop running Vista Home) print double sided manually.  But now even though it says duplex, it will not work and I think the Windows Driver believes that it is a duplexer attached to the printer verses a manual feature.  Any ideas on how to get my manual double sided printing back?

    Nice one...
    I found you can also modify the "Manual Duplex Help" section to provide instructions to the user while duplex printing :
    The following prn_grp displays pictures similar to the Laserjet 1300 and has the right procedure (take the printed pages and place them in the same orientation in the tray) :
    <prn_grp models="HP LaserJet 1300;HP LASERJET 1300N;c5c5f890996e5fc5d7ffd96f8c759f2d ;555a2593970cf8b77ec5e1c722373e36 ;065e3643626aa153eb624120e21031cc ;5541b14acbc6bb39fefc0967181142e0 ;e6885ab28dbc6e127ae4963acf4d8ccc ;8f6b80f605bb593212acd699c0516d06 ;1d9e0f01c72b2d0001e58751826b42ac ;f77381023eb218bd6c75fbb5cd55337e ;8da5efe243e316c3fbd7ccd09d330f48 ;60caa8832f86a2502a3e4f31c6aa82f5 ;d1eb75d092f98ee058366d6d32b1c5d1 ;acb248ba464fba4feeac598ee070e4da;25b289c5a1af52c4c30c70e60d6a5486;

    <option name="InstructionID_03_FACEDOWN-NOROTATE" value="BitmapID_231_StringID_3065"/>
    </fname>
    </prn_grp>
    More importantly, I was also able to modify the hpcu1306.xml file to enable full 1200 dpi support, by adding the following prn_grp at the end of the "Print Quality" section (after the hp LaserJet 9040 prn_grp and before the closing "</feature>")
    <prn_grp models="HP LaserJet 1300;HP LASERJET 1300N;">

    <option name="PQGroup_2"/>
    <option name="PQGroup_4"/>
    <option name="PQGroup_5"/>
    </fname>
    </prn_grp>
    NB : PQGroup_2 is for 600 dpi, PQGroup_4 is for FastRes 1200 dpi (fast) and PQGroup_5 is for ProRes 1200 dpi (finer, slower, more memory used).

  • Double sided printing with Adobe XI

    I have asked many times but don't get an answer.  Do you have any staff or "experts", as you put it, who will answer my question?

    It appears we are simply screwed by HP who designed this printer to use up as much ink as possible and not allow you to use black only no matter what is said.  Tons of complaints and no anwers.  Better do some research before buying next time and do not consider HP, they apparently lie about capabilities and blame the consumer when questioned.  My 6500 is the worst printer I have ever had.  I had to take color photos to CVS to get good copies at 4 bucks each and it simply won't print double sided with black only anymore.  Scanner never worked, well it did once and wireless doesn't work either.
    If there is a way to make double sided print in black only on a PC, 64 bit with Windows 7 Home Edition, let me know.

  • Printing double sided brochures with InDesign

    I'm trying to print my brochures double sided with InDesign but I'm really having a devil of a time doing it. The brochure is 8 pages long (each page is 5.5 x8.5 therefore two double-sided 8x11s).
    The problem is that my printer does NOT print duplex, so I can't just leave it in there and let the printer do it.
    I had hoped that I could print pages 1 & 8, then stick those pages into the printer upside down and print 2/7 on the other side.
    Then i could repeat it for 3/6 and 4/5, but when I print out 1 & 8, it prints them on separate pages.
    Anyone know who to format it so that I can print one piece of paper (with two pages on it) at one time?

    File > Print Booklet
    Booklet Type > 2 up Saddle Stitch
    From that Print Booklet dialog, click the Print Settings button (bottom the the Print Booklet dialog) and modify the Print dialog- you will probably have to select Orientation rotate.
    Select ok from the  Print dialog, returning to the Print Booklet dialog.
    In short, you jump between two dialog boxes, until the preview looks correct in Print Booklet. I would suggest setting the printer to Adobe PDF and printing from Acrobat.

  • Can pages be rearranged/merged automatically to restore odd even sequence after one-sided scans of double sided documents

    I would like to scan into pdf format some documents that are deteriorating badly.  These documents are printed on both sides and there are lots of them.  The stack of documents can be placed in a regular feeder scanner but only one side of the documents will get scanned at one time.  I could then turn the stack upside down and scan the other side.  But that would leave me with a grouping of the odd pages pages of the documents as pdf, and a grouping of the even pages.  How could I then rearrange/merge the pages so they appear as a normal sequence of odd-even in the pdf? Thanks.

    Hey all:
    Thanks for the positive feedback. I found myself needing to do some collating and reversing again, and discovered that the script didn't show up in Acrobat 9. So I updated the script, and moved the menu item into the "Document" menu.
    Unfortunately I can't figure out how to attach the updated script in the new form editor, so I'll inline it. Copy the following script into a file and install it into your Javascripts folder, as before.
