Is it possible to fax from my macbook if i have a cable phone?
If you have a dedicated fax line. Normally the VOIP voice lines cannot be used for faxing. But your adapter should have a second telephone jack that may be used for a dedicated fax line. However, you have to purchase the second line. Talk to your VOIP provider.

Has anyone had any luck with setting up the HP Officejet Pro 8600 with a digital Phone line? I do not have an analog phone and of course that information was never brought to my attention when i bought the printer. I am a bit amazed that it does not work with both analog and digital.

Error codes are different though. The voice over IP line still could be the issue, but it is possible that something else is occuring.The document has instructions on how to test your fax setup with the HP faxback service. If it works with the test fax, it could be an issue with that particular receiving fax.

The wife tried to do an update on her new IPhone 5c now it is frozen at an ITunes screen, the screen has a pic of a cable and phone connector pointing to an ITunes symbol with the word ITunes under it. when it tries to do a restore the computer comes up with an error 21.

hello i have a trouble with my i phone... i was trying to update a new software and at the end it says that there is some error and i cannot turn my i phone bak on all it shows is itunes logo in the midlle and usb cable with an arrow pointing at the logo. Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

There is no other way than to plug into a computer to restore the phone. You can use another computer to do so, but in case you did not back up to iCloud your data and settings will be gone.

I upgraded my iPhone 4 last evening to iOS 6, the upgrade completed and the device was usable. Then in the morning I went to the device to check E-mail, Voice Messages, Test Messages, etc... and the phone was dead. I tried plugging the device into a charger (for a couple of hours) - still dead. Plugged into computer with iTunes, device not recognized or discovered, and iPhone was still dead... Took the iPhone into an Apple Store and the Technician looked it over for any visible signs of defect/malfunction, then performed various tasks to breathe life into the phone - nothing... His suggestion, at this point, was to replace the phone. He speculated that the iOS upgrade possibly corrupted the iPhone's charging firmware, and that this device was now a BRICK. Keep in mind that the phone and it's charging abilities were perfectly fine prior to the iOS Upgrade. I hate to go through the replacement hassle and the cost ($159.00) when the iOS upgrade caused the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am having difficulty charging my iphone with the cable. Its been 1 yr since I bought the phone. Does the cable becomes useleless after a year. Whats the life span for the cable? It automatically gets disconnected and then get connected again.
That is shorter than normal. Any signs of wear? And you're sure it's the cable, not one of the pins in the iPhone's charging port?

Welcome to the community.
One thing to note, if you are using the device on say a work computer, there may be security restrictions that wont allow MTP mode to charge the handset.
You could try changing the device in to MSC mode and then seeing if the charge works.
Menu > Settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB Connectivity > USB Mode > MSC

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
I was in the middle of installing the new update using the wifi at a local restaurant when I lost the wifi signal and my iPhone shut down, and now I can't get into the phone. I only get the iTunes logo with the cable pic. What are my options now?
Your only option is to connect your iPhone to your computer via USB (as the diagram indicates) and restore using iTunes.

Mac Mini not working with AOL Cable modem
All,
I just bought a brand new Mac Mini but it not working with AOL. My windows XP PC working well with AOL but not with mac mini. Any suggestions? thanks
HungI just found an interesting thing that i brought my mac mini to Apple store where i bought it. Hook up with store cable, it can go thru to internet with out sign on AOL. ALso I can connect to AOL very easy. Brought it back home, I tried to open browser w/o sign on AOL like i did at Apple store, it did not work. I also tried to sign on AOL alone, still not work either. The weird thing is, my other Windows XP computer is working well with AOL. I called customer service of AOL for help, who takes care the Mac computer, asked me to follow the simple procedure that I already did before i called them like unplug cable modem, restart computer...etc. Nothing new, and then they transfered me back and forth between Mac and Windows specilist with no help. I was on phone with them for 2 hours yesterday. I'm very disappoint with AOL customer service with the way they serve the customer. I'm thinking to cancel membership with AOL where i stay with them more than 10 years, and look for another cable or DSL ISP. Now I'm packing the Mac Mini back to box and bring it to Apple store to return it. Next thing, is search around which ISP, who supports the Apple comp. I'm living at Los Angeles area where's very easy to find a local ISP Verizon, Earthlink, Road Runner... I'll be back to buy a new Mac when i get the internet ready. I love Apple computer, and i want to have it.
