My F3 Key in FB 4.5 on Windows 7 stopped working... This is my most used key while coding... Please help!

We haven't been able to reproduce this issue at our end. It may be something that is very specific to your project or development setup.
If you share your project with us, we can help you out more. (I know that can be hard to make time for when you are running against a deadline)
Could you also post the contents of your Flash Builder log file (yourworkspace\.metadata\.log) here?

If they do nothing at all, double check system preferences/speech and make sure they have not somehow gotten set as the trigger for Text to speech or speech recognition, etc.
Also try an external keyboard. If it works ok, then your internal keyboard is probably damaged and needs repair or replacement.

Did you spill any liquids on your keyboard? If you are in the habit of eating and drinking while using your computer, the keyboard is probably dirty. Use a can of compressed air or a vacuum hose to remove the debris underneath the key. If that does not work, you may actually have a hardware issue.
If you Apple Care, call them and get a case number. Otherwise, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you. Liquid damage is not covered under Apple's standard 1 year warranty or Apple Care.
NOTE: If you are out of warranty and purchased the computer with a credit card, discuss the warranty issue with the credit card company which you purchased the computer with. They are the only ones who can at this point cover the computer after it goes out of warranty with the manufacturer (Apple).
If you have Homeowners insurance, place a claim with them.

Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > Toggle ON
This can serve as you on/off sleep button until you can have it repaired.

Some keys and functions stop working when i switch users.

2 people use my computer and just recently when i switch to my user, the special function keys stop working (screen and keyboard brightness - not sure what other keys aren't working. spaces works and so does play/pause etc). also i can't log out using the key short cuts nor by going to the menu and selecting Log Out.
switching back to the other user, the keys still work. and if i set the brightness there when i switch back the setting remain on my side. but i can't control them. the only way to get them back is to restart the computer which i can't do from my user. when i select restart, it beach balls for a few seconds then nothing happens.

Search for PRAM Reset On Mac. Unless restrictions of some kind are set on that other user, this shouldn't be happening.

FWIW, I typed the key combination "Ctrl +" which Windows 7 uses for magnification. Could this have overridden my Lenovo keypad settings??

I completely understand your frustration,
I believe your model T520 has the Windows Logo on the keyboard? This may be a workaround, Are you able to use this combination?
Windows logo key + Plus Sign (+) or Minus Sign (-)

Keys hang or stop working

Hi,
MacBook Pro 3GHz i7, OS 10.9.5
In the middle of working sometimes the keyboard freezes. Sometimes a single key repeats like crazy, today a single key just stopped working. In these cases the only solution seems to be to restart the computer, sometimes it needs to be restarted several times to have the keyboard start working again.
I found a thread suggesting to close the screen for a minute, but that does not help much. Restarting seems to be the only thing that works.
Any ideas?

I think I solved it myself...
so it seems that I had the beta version installed... and I just install the release version over that...
I remember this problem existed in the beta version too.
so what I did was uninstall release facetime and reboot.
then install with facetime.dmg (beta version)
then uninstall again by dragging the beta facetime.app to the trash bin and reboot again
then install again the release version.
everything is okay after that...
oh one note... I did log out before every uninstall.

No idea about another program. I actually took your advice and went to edit the keyboard short cut and selected different keys than command D. It worked. Still puzzled as to why the old fashioned way stopped working. Command works with other letter combinations.

Unfortunately, the "battery level" always says 100%.. And there's no low level battery warning as with the mouse.
so i swop batteries with my mouse just to make sure.
So if your wireless key pad battery level is below 20% and you are running multiple programs... should you need to restart your computer you'll have problems..

So far i've found if i un pair my keyboard before replacing batteries I can then pair up again but i must switch bluetooth on first...

Double-clicking to open files stops working after opening lots of files.

When I double-click a file it will open the file in CS6 version 13.0.1, but then after a while double-clicking will no longer open jpeg or raw files. I can open the same files by going to File > Open in the Menu Bar.
When I am simply opening downloaded files from my camera, I can open 200-300 by double-clicking with no problems. However, at times when I am working on an image, it is not long before I can't open a file by double-clicking. It will open a blank Photoshop window, but without any Toolbar or Menu Bars.
This happens on a regular basis. Sometimes, also, Photoshop is slow to Quit, for no apparent reason.
Is anyone aware of this problem?

Still having this problem.
If I open a jpeg and just change the name, then Save As to a folder, I can then open another jpeg by double-clicking.
However, whenever I open a jpeg and make changes to the image in Photoshop, then Save As to a folder, I can then no longer open a jpeg by double-clicking. Photoshop will open, but the jpeg will not open.
Since this only happens after making changes to a jpeg in Photoshop, it seems to me the problem is with something in Photoshop, and has nothing to do with my OS.

New file, open file stopped working

I have Photoshop CS3. Yesterday afternoon it was working perfectly. Today both the File > New and File > Open do nothing. Dragging a photoshop file onto the program does not open it. Creating a new document brings up the dialogue but clicking ok does not create a new document. Nothing happens. Any ideas why this might happen or what I can do about it?

Fnc keys 1-7 stopped working

Any clue as to why? This includes brightness adjustment, volume adjustment, number lock and whatever F7 does?. The real annoyance is the volume adjustment as I have to adjust using the icon at the top tool bar. They worked when I got the computer and nothing weird has ever happened to the keyboard (spills, drops, etc).

The function keys can be configured to work as regular function keys (F1, F2 etc) or as controls for volume, brightness, and so on. It sounds like that setting has been toggled on your Mac. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Keyboard and select "Keyboard". If the checkbox next to "Use all F1, F2, etc keys as standard function keys" is checkmarked, uncheck it.
Which ever way you set that checkbox, you can get the alternate behavior on the fly by holding down the fn key while pressing the function key.

A certain set of keys randomly stop working in a Flex application

My company has a Flex application (version 4.5.1), and certain keys will stop working from time to time when typing in a TextInput (the MX variety).
Each occurrence has been on a Windows machine. I have noticed it in Internet Explorer 11, using 15.0.0.152 (developer version), and co-workers have noticed it on other versions of IE (I don't know which Flash Player versions they were using, but they weren't the developer versions).
About the only major change I can think of that may coincide with this issue would be having to convert a Google Map from using the Flash API to the JavaScript API.
The keys that have stopped working are: k, m, !, #, $, %, &, (, -, _, =, +, ', " (capital "K" and "M" still work)
I can still paste these characters into the text box even when the keys aren't working, so it's not an issue with the text box not accepting the characters. I can have the application open in multiple tabs and have things working normally in 1 tab but not the other. I have seen the keys stop working and start working again without refreshing the tab.

Understood. We have an extensive set of automated regression tests, and in the rare instances where we do break text input, it's an on/off thing. This is super interesting because it's so weird, but I have zero theories about why it might be happening.
If it is a Flash bug, there's probably a really long sequence of steps required to get it into a wonky state where this would occur, and the only way that we would figure out what's going on would be to reproduce it under an interactive debugging session. I'll ask around, but I've been working on the engineering team since 2006 and I've *never* seen this. I really like crazy stuff like this, but I've got nothing...

TAB key on PC stopped after update

have Vista 36 bit. Firefox updated me to 16..after that my TAB key on PC stopped working! So I reverted back to version 15.0.1.. it fixed that problem. Then now when with FF browser try to go to my weather program (Wunder Map) (weather underground)...the map doesn't show! the Adobe flash player is 11.4.402.287...which was the one that did work with the older FF. When I use Chrome or RocketMelt browsers, everything works so I know it's a Firefox problem! Every time FF has an update, there's always a problem! I have updated and reverted back on FF and Adobe..I'm so tired of this. Everything was running fine all summer long till now :-(

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
