FB browser chat disconnects after 1032 upgrade.

I had no problems previously using chat on FB before. It logs in for about 5 seconds then says. "chat disconnected ". The BB app works fine with chat, I prefer the browser version though, any thoughts.?

I discovered that I can still send messages even though it says disconnected.

  • Bridge Browser icon missing after the upgrade to OS2

I have suddenly realised that the Bridge Browser icon has been missing from my PlayBook after the Upgrade to OS2. My service provider data plan supports browsing and I use to do that earlier on OS1. Now a days, since I am mainly using Mifi device...did not use Bridge Browser....BUT suddenly realised that this icon is missing.....
Any idea what I need to do to get that icon back on PlayBook? and also use it....

It's really funny...The OS2 manual says that there will be an icon for Bridge Browser....but in reality...you do not require any separate bridge browser icon...Browser main icon works for both...wifi connection as well as bridge connection....
I am surprised, why RIM has not highlighted this fact in its OS2 manual.....
    Anyways....my problem is resolved....

  • Retrieving chat history after OS upgrade

    Hello.
I want to retrieve my chat history.
I was using Windows 7, and had about a year of chat history.
I upgraded to Windows 8, and my history is mostly gone.
I found the main.db file, but the other's gotta be around somewhere.  Is there a way I can find main.db from previous OS installations?
    Thanks.

I would highly suggest you place a copy of your %appdata%/Skype folder onto a backup drive.  Your history is contained in a main.db that is in a sub folder with your Skype name.
Running %appdata%/Skype is equivalent to  C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\AppData\Roaming\Skype
The main.db file would be located in a sub folder:
    C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\AppData\Roaming\Skype\YourSkypeName\main.db
When/if that information gets purged you would reinstall Skype and start it once.  You would then exit the application and go back to the new location which should be similar to the old and replace it's newly created main.db file with your older, larger, backed up copy.  You can do the same for your picture folder as well.

  • Video chat disconnecting after ~1 minute

Hey guys, I'm having trouble with iChat disconnecting video after ~1 minute. The problem machine is a late 2009 15" MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.5 with everything up to date. We're on a University network and I'm able to video chat with using other computers, so I don't think it's a network issue.
When the video drops, I get the usual message that (Problem Computer) ended the video chat. iChat keeps running on the problem computer when the connection is dropped, so it's not crashing the entire application. I've tried removing iChat and reinstalling from the cd, updating with the combo updater, removing the ichat plist from ~/User/Library/Preferences. This is what the system log reports when the video is dropped:

  • BEFW11S4 constant disconnect after firmware upgrade

I was having trouble with my router losing connection every 2 hours or so . I have downloaded and installed the latest firmware and now it keeps disconnecting almost every 30 min. I have a static IP on my main pc and dhcp enabled for my xbox360. I have checked the cables if they were bad by swapping them but the problem was still there. Any help would be very much appreciated.

After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch.  If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
Also, please list all the static LAN IP addresses that you are using on your network.
If you are not using the default DHCP server range of 192.168.1.100  thru  192.168.1.149 , then please state your DHCP server range.
Are you running any peer-to-peer (P2P) software?  If so, this is a known cause for router slow downs and disconnections.  Temporarily stop using the P2P software, then reboot router, and see if this corrects your problem.
Who is your ISP?  Are you on a cable system?  Some cable systems monitor the MAC address of the devices connected to them, and eventually boot off any MAC address they don't recognize.  If you are on a cable modem, try cloning your MAC address (done in the router), and see if this corrects the problem.

  • Video Chat disconnects after a minute

I have attempted to use the video chat on more than one occassion I am ok for literally one or two minutes before it disconnects me.  I have tried to swtich the router, I have turned off wi-fi from my Torch and laptop.  Nothing seems to work and it's frustrating.  What is the problem?

I have experienced the same issue and have yet to find a solution...There are.problems with how the pb connects to wifi (drops ips) hopefully this will be fixed in the feb update.

  • Can't browse samba shares after samba upgrade (3.0.26a-4 - 3.0.27A-1)

    Hi all,
After today's samba update, i am unable to browse my samba shares:
    As seen in pacman.log:
    [2007-11-16 15:55] updating smbclient (3.0.26a-2 -> 3.0.27A-1)
    [2007-11-16 15:55] updating samba (3.0.26a-4 -> 3.0.27A-1)
Ive had this samba server running for a long time and never had any trouble. Apart from the system update i havent changed anything.
I have tried two machines to access it, a ubuntu and a windows one. The ubuntu one would mount it all right, but when you try browsing it it gives an 'Input/output error', these are the last lines found in /var/log/messages file:
    Nov 16 19:42:06 Naboo kernel: [ 855.043000] SMB connection re-established (-5)

The windows machine would actually show the files in the shared directory but after a very long wait. Browsing and reading files was taking such a long time that windows seemed like frozen so i had to restart.
I also tried rebooting the server but to no avail.
Anyone else with the same problem?

  • Dreamweaver Server Disconnect After OS Upgrade

    Hi,
I am having an issue with Dreamweaver. Actually Dreamweaver and the site I had made with it were fine untilI upgraded my OS. Naturally that wipes away Dreamweaver and the server settings. Well, I now have Dreamweaver reinstalled and I had backed up a copy of the root folder on my system before the upgrade. I put it back in the same location. What now? Am I going to be able to connect back to it as it used to be? Help!
    Thanks,
    Burak

You need to define your site again.
    In DW...
    1. Go to Site > New Site
    2. Enter a name for your site
    3. Browse to your site folder for Local Site Folder
    4. Click Servers then the +
    5. Enter your FTP information (FTP address, username, password, root directory) from your hosting company
    6. Click Test
    7. If the test connection works, click Save
Your files should be visible in the Files window (F8 if it's not displayed)

  • Chrome browser missing tabs after Lollipop upgrade

    Hi
Chrome now hides the option to close a tab or jump to another one. Any fix?
    Thanks!
    Cheers,

Chrome Tabs were moved after Lollipop to the Recent Apps screen (the 2 rectangulars soft button on the right). They will persist even if you restart your phone. You just switched off this feature and can get it back by turning tabs merge on again.

    Hello dhiliptcs,
It sounds like the WhatsApp app on your iPhone does not have a visible keyboard.  I recommend following the steps in the article below for an issue like this (you can skip step 3 since it is not related to this issue):

  • All USB drives disconnect after upgrade and clean install of MAC OS X Mavericks

I first upgraded to Mavericks and noticed that my external USB dries would disconnect after MBP Retina Mid 2012 model was updated to Mavericks.  These worked fine in all versions of Mac OS X before upgrade.  So I did a clean install figured my machine would benifit from this anyway. This did NOT fix the problem.
Wouldn't be much of an issue but I use this macine as a media server with Plex and all the media is in one of the external USB 3.0 drives.  All drives are from Seagate, and have found no info there.  Guessing this is a bug that Apple needs to fix unless its a Seagate issue which I doubt.

If the tracks are recognized by your iPod (playable), search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your Mac.
If they're just on your iPod as data, then I'm not certain since I don't use a custom hierarchy, but you should be able to copy the folder back to your iTunes Music folder, turn off the "copy to iTunes library when adding to library" preference, and then use the Add To LIbrary command to get them recognized by iTunes. Again, though, I don't use a custom hierarchy, so you might want to ask that question as a new post, just to get additional opinions.
BTW, an iPod is not a reliable backup for your tracks. Too many situations can arise that would cause your iPod to need to be erased. I strongly recommend that you make backups, particularly of any tracks purchased from the iTunes Music Store or that would otherwise be difficult to replace, to CD, DVD, external hard drive, or other medium.

  • Nautilus: can't browse Samba share after upgrade

my iphone4 disconnecting calls after 3 rings and show these calls as "missed calls" while the person who calls me still hear a dial ring. this started to happend after i upgraded to ios 7.0.4 please advise
this is really frustrating since i cant pick up calls with only 3 rings and i always miss them
i tried to restore like 3-4 times, didnt help
even tried to set the iphone as a "new iphone" on itunes and it didnt help

Generally, when going out of the country and using a foreign SIM, carrier files can be changed. Go to Settings>General>About>and look at Carrier? What does it say? You may have to perform a restore. You can try a restore from a backup, that would reinstall the iOS, and would provide the latest AT&T carrier file as well. See if this will fix the problem.

  • After Yosemite upgrade browser windows aren't restored

    Hi there,
After my upgrade to Yosemite over the weekend I noticed that Safari sometimes doesn't restore browser windows from last session reliably, e.g sometimes they are restored and sometimes not. I have configured in the preferences "Safari opens with all windows from last session". Has anybody has come across the same flaw?
    Cheers,
    Bruno

I tried TeskDisk and from the very beginning it mentioned about being unable to modify my hard disk as below.
    =========
Write access for this media is not available.
TestDisk won't be able to modify it.
    - No partition from this disk must be mounted:
Open the Disk Utility (In Finder -> Application -> Utility folder)
and press Unmount button for each volume from this disk
    - This media may be physically write-protected, check the jumpers.
    ==========
I tried the Disk Utility but of course I couldn't unmount the Macintosh HD partition while running on it.
Anyway, I still ran TestDisk to see if all partitions would be detected correctly. It seemed good, as captured below.
All the partitions were found. Then I chose MS Data partition, keyed P and Enter to check its filesystem.
The error message was same as described in the step by step guide you sent me.
The I went back and tried Deeper Search.
It run for hours any the analyse sector was strange at the end, something like more than 600,000,000/488,397,167. Sorry I forgot to capture this figure. However, I think Deeper Search is unnecessary if TestDisk can find all partitions. The problem is write access.
Regarding GPT FDisk (gdisk-0.8.10), after installing it I can't find where it is on my computer.
Do you have any recommendation please.
