FB contacts in my Iphone contact list

I just updated my O/S and all my facebook contacts are now in my Iphone contacts liste. Cannot delete them ? what can I do ?
I don't want all my FB contacts in my phone

There is a setting in the phone that allows you to choose whether or not to synce contacts from FB into you phone... it seems you have it set to sync... the setting is in Settings > Facebook then toggle the Contants selector to OFF

  • Transfering exchange contacts to my iphone contact list?

I have an exchange account I need to delete off my phone, but I want to save some of the contacts to my iphone contact list before I delete the exchange account, is this possible?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

The ideal method would be to export them as VCF files using a computer.
If you only have access to the Server on your iPhone, you can individually open each one and Share it to yourself by text or email.

  • HT4872 My gmail contacts and my iphone contacts are synced.  I want to un-sync them

My gmail contacts and my iphone contacts are synced.  I want to disconnect this function from my phone and be able to edit and remove all those contacts that are just email addresses.  How can I do this?

Settings > mail, contacts, calendars > Gmail > contacts > off > select "delete from my iPhone."  This will delete all of them.
If you want to selectively edit out what you don't want, keep them and manually edit your contact.

  • How can I remove all my outlook contacts from my iphone contacts

Well, Thats was the first time I`ve used Icloud, so I don`t have much experience, and I just active Icloud on my devices and I dont know why all my outlook contacts went to my iphone contacts. How can I remove it on a easy way otherwise I would delete them one by one and that wont be nice, because are too many.
    Sincerely
    Pedro

Depending how many contacts you started with and where they were from? were they on your sim card before? to remove ALL contact from an iPhone go to iTunes / info un-tick Sync Contacts and change Outlook to another addrss book that has nothing stored in it (ie. empty) sync your phone with that and that will leave your phone with no contacts. Next look for the backup where you had your previous contacts loaded (group) and re sync it to put them back. Chech iTunes when you plug in your phone that it doesn't sync immediately when you plug it in to eliminate future problems.

  • When adding or deleting contacts on my iphone, contacts get added or deleted on another iphone as well?!

So I have an iPhone 4S and my mom has an Iphone 4. Recently we discovered that whenever we add or delete contacts from her or my phone, they get added or deleted in both our iPhones. So for example: When I add a friend to my contacts, it gets added to her contact list as well. When I delete one of my contacts, it gets deleted from her contact list as well! I think it has something to do with having synced her iphone once on my laptop using my itunes but her phone doesn't have my apps, photos, or music so I don't get how this is happening. Does anyone know how to stop this?

You are logged into icloud on the same account.
Go to settings>icloud  and either "delete account" (which signs you out of that account on that device) or just turn contacts off
I would recommend one of you create your own account specifically for use with icloud.
Again you can access your icloud settings by going to settings>icloud

  • Why won't Outlook 2011 Contacts sync with iPhone Contacts?

When i left a previous company i wanted to keep my outlook contacts. To do this i exported them from the company PC into a .PST file. I was then given a MacBook Air at my current company and wanted to import the contacts from the .PST file to my outlook (Outlook 2011). This was fine and i have my old contacts on my new work MacBook. My problem is that i cannot get the contacts to show in my iPhone 6 (company phone) contacts. When i go to itunes, then my device and contacts i am given the option to sync contacts from different places. The only place that comes up is OWA and there is no option to sync the .PST file that is on my outlook. I need to be able to sync these so that if i add a contact at the office on the mac or if i add a contact on my phone when out meeting a client that they then appear on both devices no matter which one it was created on.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I did what you said and everything looked and worked perfectly...except the events still aren't showing up on my iPhone even though they are in Google Calendar. How much time does it take to populate the iphone calendar with the   events from the just added calendar?  I changed the settings a couple of hours ago.
    Thank you!

  • IPhone contact list reimporting deleted contacts

I keep deleting and consolidating Facebook contacts in my iPhone contacts list but it keeps reimporting them. I don't want all of these Facebook contacts in my iPhone contacts list. Is it possible to stop the phone reimporting deleted contacts?

but wouldn't i then lose all of the facebook contacts from my iphone contact list? I want to keep some of them and delete others.

  • Force iPhone to put newly added contacts under iPhone contact group

I want to be able to have my iphone put a newly added contact under my iphone contacts and not all contacts. Is there a way to force iphone to do this? I am using mobile me, think I remember hearing someone mention a setting in itunes for this. Don't have this option with mobile me.
    Thanks,
    Toby

I agree with Oregon Farmer. All Contacts contain all contacts from every created group (i.e. "iPhone contacts"), so once you add a contact into "iPhone Contacts", the same info is placed in the "All Contacts" group. Sort of like "Music" in library and playlists.
There used to be an option on the iTunes, but from this website, it suggests that option was for the original iPhone http://www.apple.com/mobileme/setup/iphone/mac.html
I was browsing around looking for a way to add a new contact (i.e. from my recent calls list) directly into the "iPhone Contacts", rather than it going automatically only into the "All Contacts" list. If anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate it. I'm also using Mobileme.

  • Keep gmail contacts separate from iPhone local contacts

Is there a way to use the iPhone mail app set up for Google to keep gmail contacts separate from iPhone contacts when you enable the Contacts during the setup?  When I enable Contacts, I get a warning saying if I keep the local contacts on the phone, there could be duplicates.  If I continue down that path, the iPhone syncs the local contacts and they appear in my Gmail contacts list.  I'm guess if I were to have any contacts in my Gmail, they would have been merged.  If I DO NOT enable contacts, and tap the "+" symbol when I want to add a recipient, it pulls from the local contacts.
I want to be able to only see Gmail contacts when I use the mail app when configured for a Google account.  In other words, if I only have one contact in Gmail, I want to only see that one contact when I'm sending a message from that specific account.  I don't want to see all the other local contacts that are on the phone.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks for any help.

The "All Contacts" view will consolidate all of your sources into one list. This is primarily for ease of use. Contacts synced from different sources, e.g. iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo, etc. are actually kept in separate data stores. There will be no cross-contamination of your address books.

  • ICloud Contacts on iPad are Not the Same as the local Contacts on my iPhone..how can i put all my Contacts from iPhone into iCloud?

I want to have all my local iPhone Contacts in the cloud to have them also on my iPad.
iCloud only saved 36 from 225 total Contacts. My IPhone Contacts are saved on the iPhone itself, but how can I Transfer them into the cloud?

The Mac uses Mac OS X and iDevices use iOS. These are two different operating systems and the apps must be written for each operating system specifically, even when the apps go by the same name, such as the iWork apps, they are two ifferent versions of the same app for the two different platforms.
So, as an example, Safari has been written for three different operating systems, Mac OS X, iOS and Windows. And the Safari apps, as similar as they are visually, are not interchangeable for the different platforms.

  • Diffferent contact info on iPhone and MBP

I wish to start using iCloud with my iPhone and my MBP.  The problem is that I have different contact info on my iPhone than on my MBP.  The MBP contact info is the accurate info.  So I don't want the iPhone contact to sync with the MBP contacts but want to have the MBP contacts overwrite the iPhone contacts.  How can I do that?
I have saved a copy of my contact book on the MBP, just in case.
    Thanks
    Echo Sierra.

Open Contacts, select All Contacts on the left-hand side, click a single contact to the right and press Command-A to select them all (they should all be highlighted).  Then go to File>Export>Export vCard and save this on your desktop.  Then download the app My Contacts Backup to your phone.  Open the app and tap the gear-shaped icon on the bottom right.  In the window that opens, scroll to the bottom and click Remove All Contacts.  Confirm that the contacts are no longer on your phone (or on icloud.com if you are already syncing contacts with iCloud).  Then email the vCard that you saved earlier to yourself, open it on your iPhone and tap the attachment to import the contacts from your Mac to your phone.
The contacts on your phone should now match your Mac.
