FBL3N - Cost Centre authorisations

Hi,
When running FBL3N all cost centres are picked. How do we restrict the user running this transaction from seeing certain cost centres but able to see others?
Regards,
Warren.

Hi Warren,
Unfortunately FBL3N ( prog RFITEMGL) does not offer any place for enhancements ( where you can put ur own logic/code).
If we want to restrict the users from viewing all Cost Centers ( here it is BSIS-KOSTL) we have to remove the related data from the final table.
In that case you can copy the main prog - attach a Z transaction and revoke the rights of executing FBl3N - this is the only way out.

  • Cost centre and Profit centre in one query - Authorisations not working!

    Hiya,
I have another problem related to Analysis Authorisations.
I have created an AA with Cost Centre and Profit centre access restricted to a certain node of a hierarchy (type 1 - this node and below). For example, the User can only run a query at Cost Centres level of Country Belgium - the query works fine. Now, the user wants to drill down by the relevant Profit centres. According to the log, the system checks for Profit centres like * and says the user is not authorised. All this, despite the fact that all Profit centres belong to country Belgium and user has been given access to see these profit centres.
What do I need to do to enable drilldown by Profit centre? I can't make a "*" access to Profit centre as the user will be able to run other queries at global level, which is not what I can allow.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello,
I don't know if it is relevant, but I had a similar problem when I had two characteristic each with hierarchy restrictions in one authorization object.
I "solved" it by separting each characteristic into its own authorization object.

  • Authorisations for cost centres

    Hi there,
    I have a question.
My client wants to give access to users only for few cost centres.
Can we use "authorisations" to fulfill the requirement?
As far as my knowledge goes we can set up authorisation for amount. e.g. person A should be able to post transactions to GL up to INR 7500 , person B can post up to 10000.
Can we do it for cost centres???? e.g. person A should not be able to post cost centre 1000 ot should be able to use cost centre 2000 only.
please let me know if we can use autorisations if not then what can be done to fulfill the requirement.
    Thank you,
    V

You can define Validation with a user exit and a Ztable
What I am envisaging is you maintain a Z table with all the authorizations and the amount limits,
Based on this table you can define a validation with a user exit that checks this table while doing this posting.
Let me know if oyu need more details like tcodes etc

  • Restrict user's authorisation for cost centre in Purchase requisition

Please suggest me the authorization object for using cost centre while creating purchase requisition. i.e. I want specific user should not create PR using cost centre which are not allowed.
Is it possible? Please suggest if any alternate method is avaialble.

Check Cost Centre object with your BASIS guy. Restrict your concern users for this Object.
When your user is creating PR and using Cost Centre he will get an error and PR will not available to Save.
If it helps, kindly give points.

  • FBL3N Cost Center Authorizaton

Hi, each user has its own cost center and only can see the data of its own cost center
The setting of cost center authroizatoin is done. It works for KSB1. However, when user use FBL3N, there are no such authorization-check. Any Solution ?? Please help

Don't think it's possible to restrict using Cost Centre as there no authorisation object that has this field cost centre for FBL3N.
Why not consider the option of not providing authorisation to FBL3N T code itself?

  • Restrict Query By Cost Centre

I have a number of users who recieve a budget report. The query in the report is restricted by a variable on Cost Centre. There is an authorisation logged against the user in RSECADMIN for cost centre so when the report runs it knows they only have authorisation to view budgets for that specific cost centre.
However I want to design another report that shows overtime spend for all cost centres. If I give the users authority to view overtime spend for all cost centres the budget report restriction fails e.g. they have now got access to all cost centres and see all budgets.
    Is there anyway around this?

In that case it is very simple and yes you can separate both authorizations.
    In RSECADMIN built two authorizations:
    Aut_1:
Cost_center: only the cost centers the user should have
    0TCAACTVT: 03 (display only)
    0TCAIPROV: <The_InfoProvider_the_query_restricted_by_only_some_profit_centers_in_here>
    0TCAKYFNM: * (all key figures)
    0TCAVALID: * (Valid for ever)
    Aut_2:
    Cost_center: * (all cost centers)
    0TCAACTVT: 03 (display only)
    0TCAIPROV: <The_InfoProvider_the_query_restricted_by_all_profit_centers_in_here>
    0TCAKYFNM: * (all key figures)
    0TCAVALID: * (Valid for ever)
Give both authorizations to the user. When the user opens the query built on the InfoProvider that exist in Aut_1, the system will retrieve the Aut_1 authorizations values, therefore, only some Cost Centers.
When the user opens the query built on the InfoProvider that exist in Aut_2, the system will retrieve the Aut_2 authorizations values, therefore, all Cost Centers.
This is because, the systema builds union on 0TCAIPROV characteristic. If they are different, then, different values are granted as you wish.

  • Standard Report for Procurement Costs by Cost Centre

    Hi Experts,
Is there a standard report available in SAP that shows the procurement costs according to the Cost Centre?
    Regards
    Lindsay

    Hi
I dont know what do you mean by Proc costs...
if you mean Account assigned purchases - Then use MB51 and after you get the output, change the layout and include Cost center in the layout
Else, you can also see the Costs by GL in FBL3N or S_ALR_87013611

  • Cost Centre Reporting

    Hi,
We are a large company with around 40000 staff and have the following business requirement.
    - Cost centre reporting is expected to be hierarchical in nature but current Cost Centre structure in Australia is flat in structure.
    - Natural hierarchies already exist by organisational structure: Total Company, Business, Zone, Region, Area and Branch.
    - As a high level requirement, cost centre data should only be available to the manager of the organisational unit that they are managing and any lower level organisational units. Managers should only be able to view their organisational unit costs or lower organisational unit costs. They should not be able to view cost centre data across structures (peer organisational units) or higher levels of responsibilities (parent organisational units).
    - The ability to access cost centre reporting data should take into account HR delegations and substitution processes. This also needs to take into account the granting of the correct authority to the delegated person to run reports.
    - One possible option is to utilise the A250 Cost Centre Manager relationship in SAP to facilitate the security for cost centre reports.
I will be handling these requirements from a security perspective and would liike to achieve this without creating hundreds of roles and a maintenance nightmare.
A finance version of structural authorisations would be good
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Barb

    Hi Barbara
I have been in this situation a couple of years ago. We ended with a solution where I made a report for generating the roles based on the responsibility area, and where the user assignment where done manually. Not a very elegant solution, but it worked.
I can see that your requirement are a bit more sophisticated though. And if you do not want to generate a lot of roles I think you will need to develop your own concept for this.
But again, as authorization check are implemented directly in the source code, this is not a small task ~ at least my guess is that you will have to limit the number of report etc used by managers to very few, perhaps Managers desktop or Manager Self Service could help here ? Otherwise I guess my suggestion would be to develop my own reporting application, or try to convince the customer to give up some of the requirements.
The bottom line is, that SAP Finance really can't handle this in an elegant manor, So Yes  -  a finance version of structural authorizations would be a great Idea

  • Cost centre not displying in FS10N if cost centre is created with catg 11

    Hi All,
If cost element is created with catg 11 (revenue) then in FS10N for document cost centre is displaying as Blank. But if Cost element is 1 then Cost centre is displaing in FS10N report. Is there is any solution for it.My customer wants to display cost centre even if cost element is 11. Can any one help/guide me.
    Thanks in advacne.
    Nagendra

    Hi,
FS10N is totals report; I guess, you mean FBL3N (which is drill-down of FS10N). If the document is posted on cost centre, then it will be displayed. Notice, that cost element 11 (income) is usually posted with another cost object, as it could not be posted only to cost centre, since incomes are posted statistically to cost centres. So, veirfy that the documents in question are posted to cost centre at all.

  • Auth Problem: restricting cost centre in ME21/ME21N

    Hi,
i need to restrict certain cost centres for some users in tcode ME21/ME21N .Currently there is no check in the programme. We have many plants in our system and many roles for different countries with this transaction.i need to activate this check for one country. How can I achieve this???
    Pls help.
    Thanks,
    Chittaranjan

    Hi Chittaranjan,
If there is no standard authorisation object currently programmed in ME21 (program SAPMM06E) and ME21N (program RM_MEPO_GUI), I can see two options for you.
Using either a standard authorisation object or a new authorisation object of your own:
    1) Change the standard code (not really recommended) and insert an AUTHORITY-CHECK statement against the chosen authorisation object.
    2) Investigate the possibility of using a standard user exit (see transaction SMOD). It looks like various exit points are available for SAPMM06E but I don't know how suitable they may be. Check in SMOD for exit names beginning with MM06* and engage a functional analyst to help identify a suitable exit.

  • Cost Centre report that shows all Tax Codes

    Hi there,
We're trying to run a cost centre report that shows the tax codes relating to all expenditure, but Tax Code isn't an option in KSB1.  Is there a way that it can be imported, or another report that we can use?
We need the tax code in order to be able to report on expenditure and tax paid / not paid for HMRC.
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Hi,
Cost reports KSB1 show only CO documents posted on cost centres. You can reconcile CO data with FI only for accounts which are relevant for CO, that is accounts defined as cost elements (normally, these are P&L accounts). If you want to see all CO documents, it's better to use KSB5 transaction as it shows all CO object postings, and not only cost centres. If you have some internal CO postings (manual postings, allocation, etc.), then they won't be shown in FBL3N and you have to consider this also.

  • Purchase requisition created by cost centre

    Hello all
I need to ensure in my system, that all users that can create purchase requisitions can only do so for their particular cost centre (through ME51n). But with the current organisational restrictions, this can only be done by purchasing organisation which is too broad.
Has anybody come across how to ensure purchase requistioners can only create for their own cost centre? Perhaps through creating an authorisation object i.e. M_BANF_....
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear George,
Have you tried using Authorization Objects "K_CSKS" or "I_KOSTL"?

  • Restrict GL / Cost Centre combinations for users/roles?

    Hi,
Please could someone advise if it is possible to restrict Cost Centre and GL Account combinations during PO creation for specific users/roles?
    For example:
    Valid Combinations:
    CC A1  GL 99
    CC B2  GL 88
    Scenarios:
    Create PO with A1, 99   -> Allowed
Create PO with B2, 77  -> Not Allowed
I've found a related post, but not exactly my requirement - any other thoughts?  Or has anyone done this themselves?
Authorisations - User Profile for purchasing - restrict by cost centre

Use the user exit MM06E005 to control the CC and G/L for user dependent.
to do that - ask ABAPer to create the custom table for user, CC and GL combination and let teh user exit read the combination from the table and give a error or warning based on your requirements.
