is it possible to authorization variants of fbl3n ? (RFITEMGL)
i need to make some variants unvisible for some users

When i select the "only display in catalog" i can't find my varriant in variant list, is it possible to bring it back (diplay in list)?
and is it possible to asign that variant to a user ?

Hi,
You can either set as variants as visible or invisible by selecting/deselecting the indicator Only display in catalog while creating the variant for FBL3N.
But this is applicable for all users.

We have a issue with posting period variant authorization. Say for example we have 4 company code and 4 posting period variants and we want to restrict one particular user should have authorization to open and close for one posting period variant only. Because mistake other company posting periods are getting opened. so as we have one posting period variant for one company, we want to restict one particular user responsible for one particular posting period variant not for all OB52 transaction code. Please advise how to achieve this.....

Costing Variant authorization Error

Dear Experts,
While creating Sale Order (MTO scenario) system is throwing a error "No authorization for Costing Variant XXXX in Company
Code XXXX. understand that system will calculate Sale Order Costing in this scenario. So, user should have Costing Variant authorization in his user profile.
Basically SD related users doesn't have authorization for Product Costing Objects.
And Basis guy has maintained the authrn by costing variants object level not by the T- Codes level.
How can I allow SD Users to Costing Variant authorizations?
is this the correct way?

Because Client is not ready to give entire costing variant authorization.
I strongly hope that, it doesn't work any t.code autr without CV Authn related to PC Object :K_KEKO.
Is there any possibility to do this t code autrn.

Query (SQ01): Variant authorization

Hello experts,
I made a query from SQ01.
I want create a variant on this query but with only authorization to specific user.
How can I restric authorization to one variant of query in order that can only be executed by specific user ?
Example:
SQ01 query name: Z_QUERY_1
Variant name: V1_Q_1
User: USER1
Only user USER1 must have authorization to execute variant V1_Q_1

Report variant authorization

Hello -
Not sure there is an easy/quick solution to this requirement but.... here goes.
For all custom programs, we'd like to limit the list of available report variants to only those variants which were created by the user executing the report. From our research - there are no available user_exits or authorization checks in function group SVAR which is used to build/display the variant lists.
Can this be accomplished any other way? We are running 4.6c.

Hi,
Why not make the report so it can only run in the background ? This gets round this issue. Check if the report is running in background in AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT event and raise an error if trying to run online.

Selection variant - authorization

Hi,
I'm using standard selection variants for internal orders and cost centers (created via KOK3, KS13, OKOV etc.).
Some of the variants are used in customizing (as receivers of assesment) so only some users should be allowed to modify such selection variants.
However there's NO authority check during creation or modification af a variant.
Does anybody know how to add an authorization check here? Modification with customer authorization object for instance.

In Md52, material cost is displayed, I can use varient to disable button to let some user to read the cost, some not. But how can i set the authority to let user A can read varient A and user B only available to see vairent B?

you can use t-code SU01.
SU01 is for the case where the user administrator is logged onto the system and wants to go directly to the user and do some security administration (editing address data, assigning roles, resetting passwords, etc).
SU01_NAV is the "navigation" version of SU01. It can be used by developers (and is used by SAP) for the case where the user administrator is given the "ease of access" to first find the users (logic in a report, or other screen output, etc) and then jump directly from the report output to the user and do some security administration (editing address data, assigning roles, resetting passwords, etc).
The functionality appears and behaves basically the same, but technically there are some small differences.

3] U can define the authorization for a report with varient using ABAP Report radio button
For Second
1] In the same role menu add transaction SM31

PO and REQ import

Hi All,
When importing PO and REQs what are the different authorization status(eg APPROVED, INCOMPLETE, IN PROCESS, PRE-APPROVED) can the document come into the system. We are trying to move over open documents that have varying authorization status and would like to know the allowed import statuses.

You can bring in the open po documents with APPROVED, INCOMPLETE and IN PROCESS status. However, it is recommended to bring either as APPROVED or INCOMPLETE (and start the approval process). If you import the doc in IN PROCESS, you may need to think about the action history as well...
I would recomment to bring over all your open documents as Incomplete and re-start the approval process again.

Just for the record: SU53 shows the last failed authority-check prior to SU53 executing.
In this case, my interpreation is that you are not authorized to schedule a report with this or any other authorization group into a job-step or via SE38 => Program => Execute => Background or several other transactions, as the system simulates the check at the time of scheduling the report. However you can run it in the foreground (P_ACTION = SUBMIT) and scheduled jobs with this program already "scheduled" are unhindered as they are run via their variants (P_ACTION = VARIANT).
P_ACTION = EDIT is obsolete, so I doubt that you need it.
Of course, you have P_GROUP = *... so there might be a way around that...

Hi Linda,
Line layout variants depend on a few things.
1 authorizations.
you need to make sure general users cannot change the standard layout. This is done via settings, layout, administration.
2. Personal variants, you can create your own variant and set it up just for yourself.
This can be done by selecting the user specifc tick box. The naming will have to be different but a user wont be able to see or change your variant.
3. Lastly you can set your variant in FB00, however all this does is assign a variant to a user, someone with either the correct authorization or a variant that is not a user specific one COULD be changed.

FBL3N Authorization

Dear SDNers,
I would like to restrict the output diplay of document type HR while executing FBL3N transaction. I found this authorization object F_BKPF_BLA an assigned requred types only. Even though output is displaying HR type in the list.
So, I created a screen variant by excluding HR type and set it as defualt. So, users can fetch records, where HR type is not displaying.
If I check "Protect Variant" option, only creator can change this value. I want to give access to few users who can see HR type, but not others.
So, please guide me how can I restrict users to see HR type and how can I allow others to view it. Is there any authorization object for modifying screen variant?

Variable screen/variant screen authorization issue

HI All,
We have implemented standard Cost Center Overview Report(0SR_C02_Q0002) in BI 7.
We have three selection fields:
1.Company Code which is mandatory
2.My controlling Area which is also mandatory
3.Costcenter which is not mandatory
The requirement we are facing over here is that in the Variable screen/variant screen when I enter a company code, then I need to display dynamically only those "My Controlling Area" values which are assigned to that particular company code and not all. In the same way after selecting the appropriate "My controlling area" value, I need to display only those cost centers in the cost center selection field which are assigned to the selected company code and My controlling area combination and not all.
can anyone guide me on how to go about on this authorization issue at the variable screen itself.
Please treat this issue/requirement on high priority.

Hi,
I think that an alternative to solve your concern could be using Web Application Designer (WAD). In this respect, there are several design options, with different levels of complexity.
As the simplest alternative, you could create a WAD including your query and three Dropdown Boxes: one for Company, a second for Controlling area and another for Cost center. The four mentioned elements should be linked to the same dataprovider so, when you select a company, the options in the other two Dropdown boxes and the information in the query are updated.
In order to enforce mandatory filter selection at Company and Controlling area level, you should set NO_REMOVE_FILTER='X' in both two Dropdown boxes, so that "All values" option -which would mean no filtering- is not offered.
