Fbus/2 card locks up on XP pro boot

I can't get my brand new Dell Latitude D500 running win xp pro to boot with the fbus/2 card installed in the pc slot. As soon as I pull the card out xp boot resumes. Moreover when I install the card at any point with xp running the system locks up...untill I pop the card then xp resumes normal operation. HELP I'm on a deadline.

Just an update about PCMCIA-FBUS Series 2 card:
The PCMCIA-FBUS Series 2 card was released on May of 2004, and the new Series 2 cards have already replaced the old Series 1 cards in all the related shipping kits. So you should get the Series 2 card if you buy PCMCIA-FBUS products after May, 2004.
The Series 2 cards have been tested with many laptops as well as different Cardbus Controllers including O2Micro controllers, and now the PCMCIA-FBUS Series 2 card can work properly with the laptops having O2Micro Cardbus Controller. So don't worry about it.
In addition, NI also offers a trade-in option to allow you to upgrade your old Series 1 cards to Series 2 cards in a good discount. For more information, please refer to the link below:

Would you please let us know what kind of Cardbus (PCMCIA) controller is adopted in the laptop? This is the key point.
According to our test, some particular Cardbus controllers are not compatible with our PCMCIA-FBUS series 2 interface card, e.g. Ricoh R5C475II. With these controllers, inserting the PCMCIA-FBUS S2 always hangs the whole OS; the OS becomes active again when we draw the PCMCIA-FBUS S2 out of the slot.

My NI FBUS PCMCIA card locks up HP nc6000 laptops

Is there a NI support engineer phone number I can give to a HP 3rd level engineer I have working on this to further investigate this problem.
They suspect an incompatibility with the 02Micro PCMCIA controller and the NI FBUS card.

The PCMICA-FBUS is not compatible with O2Micro Cardbus controller. But it is compatible with other cardbus controllers like TI, Ricoh, Toshiba, NEC, CL and etc. In this case, you have to choose another laptop if you want to use the PCMCIA-FBUS card.
At the same time, National Instruments will release a new PCMCIA-FBUS Series 2 card soon (this month), which is compatible with O2Micro cardbus controller.

PCMCIA Series 2 card locks my laptop up when I try to install it

I have two NI PCMCIA-FBUS/2 Series 2 cards that I purchased in June 2006. Unfortunately when I attempt to install it on either of my Sony Laptops one with XP Pro and the other with Windows 2000, it causes the machine to lock up/hang. I have Ni Configurator and Comms Manager ver 3.1.1 loaded onto both machines. Does anyone have a similar problem and maybe a solution. Note the laptops are different models and about 3-4 yrs old. One laptop has a Ricoh PCMCIA controller.

This is the same hardware compatibility problem. Actually, PCMCIA-FBUS Series 2 cannot work with some particular laptops. The key point is what kind of Cardbus (PCMCIA) Controller is adopted in the laptop. According to our test, the only problem is caused by Ricoh Cardbus controller and several O2Micro ones, but the controllers of Texas Instruments, Toshiba, ENE should work well with our PCMCIA-FBUS S2 card.
Please have a try if you have Series 1 card in hand, it should work well with your laptop. It's simple to tell the 2 series by their labels:
-- Series 1: PCMCIA-FBUS
-- Series 2: NI PCMCIA-FBUS Series 2
If you don't have the S1 card, I would like to suggest you try another laptop whose Cardbus Controller is from TI or Toshiba.
To be honest, it is not an easy problem to solve for such hardware compatibility issue, but we will investigate further. Anyway, we are sorry for the inconvenience.

As previously posted by USER-944926 and KimberlyS, memory card have a switch you can slide to protect the images and prevent accidental erasure. On the Mac side, you’ll first need to pair your XV6700 and Mac to each other. You should be able to do this easily, but if you need some help, check out Apple’s site for direct documentation on how to do this. When pairing, select “Other” device from the list, not “Phone”.

Before I read this I went to the apple store and tried some BT file transfers to another Mac and experienced the same results. I then went to the Sony store and tested it on a XP laptop and experienced the same speeds. I am able to achieve twice that rate when doing mac to mac BT transfere. I know my MBP has BT 2.0, but I didn't think my first generation Mini was 2.0.
I am able to sync via USB with Mark/Space's Missingsync, but it doesn't appear that they support DUN. I will email them, to see if they will consider it.
I just bought my 6700, so I still have the choice to return it. I am not sure if I should get another device that currently supports EVDO DUN via USB or suck it up and hope someone makes a usb dun driver for the 6700.

How do I toggle num lock in Windows 7 via Boot Camp 4.0 on a MacBook Pro (Late 2011)?

Is there a keyboard shortcut to enable num lock on the MacBook Pro 2011 (Late) in Windows 7 via Boot Camp 4.0? I have a mouse with a numpad mapping on the side of it. When I press the number keys, the cursor responds in the way one would expect it to with the num lock off (ie, 6 moves it right, 4 moves it left, etc); however, I need to use it to produce numbers.
I have read http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1220, which covers the previous MBP keyboard (on which the F6 key function was numlock), but I can't find any information regarding the possibility of doing this with the new MBP model keyboard (on which the F6 key function is increasing the keyboard backlight). Any thoughts? Suggestions?

I was looking for this answer and found it on another site. I realize this is an old thread, but just in case someone else stumbles here and needs to do it, here's how to turn numlock on or off in Windows, and to make it stick:
Run Registry Editor (RegEdit)
In Windows 8 or earlier you can press Command-R, then type regedit
In Win7 or earlier, you can also just click Start menu, and type regedit in the search field.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Control Panel -> Keyboard
Within the Keyboard folder, you should have an entry named InitialKeyboardIndicators. Set the "Data" value accordingly:
0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after login
1 = Disable Num Lock
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the login

That model MBP gives you a choice of cards to use – one at a time. it is not designed for them to run in tandem - splitting up the workload.

That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

Which video card to buy for Mac Pro and AE CS3

I am about to purchase a new Mac Pro and am curious which video card to buy - particularly when it comes to rendering speed.
Apple offers the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT with 256MB of GDDR3 as a standard option, with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with 512MB of GDDR3 as a $150 BTO option.
I primarily use AE CS3 using adaptive resolution in lieu of Open GL. The projects are very 3d intensive. My initial thought is that the NVIDIA card has more VRAM and would be a better pick - but would my $$$ be better off toward more RAM? Does using CS4 make a difference?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. And yes, I have searched the forums but have not found anything definitive.

Personally, I'd buy more RAM. The standard display card supplied with the Mac Pro will have perfectly good specs for AE and Prem Pro.

It probably won't work. Some USB PCI cards will work out of the box with OS X even though the manufacturers don't specifically support it. This ad does not list the card manufacturer or chipset so it's very difficult to tell much about it. Furthermore it states that to modify the settings it requires a Windows-based Utility. Unless the seller has a good return policy I wouldn't buy it.

USB 2.0 card for my 2011 Mac Pro. Reccomendations?

I need a USB 2.0 card for my 2011 Mac Pro desktop. Can anyone reccomend a product or what I need to look for (host interface etc) when searching for a suitable card?

Amazon UK then perhaps? OWC/Macsales is a good place to see what products they have as they are Mac primarily and support Mac Pro of course.
the products they have will list and of course they need to work in 1x as well as 4x.
Lion has been out a year, and unlike ML or early adopters most should or will but again, look and make sure it says 10.7.4, some may say 10.6 or later - have to ask.
You can also dig around and find what chip a product uses and is based on and then shop for similar chip based.
Can we assume you need more USB ports, or you have dead USB on the Mac and not for disk drives in which case USB3 or eSATA are better but USB3 has been iffy on Macs - now that Apple has some and some support in 10.8 while CalDigit card needed drivers for theirs.

Memory card lock

Have a brand new elph 520 HS. First time trying to operate receive "Memory Card Locked". Purchased a brand new memory card. Same error. Can't format, the "format" option remains in the background and is not selectable

Are these cards from other devices like a cell phone etc? The idea that you're using an adapter introduces more ways to run into problems.

SD Card locked

I can not take a new photo nor video...If I try and delete any old picture, it tells me my SD card is locked. Is there a way to clear the SD card without losing everything? This is so baffling...my old cheap flip phone took lots of pic's without all this drama.

My devour locked the sd card after I moved some files from my PC to my phone. I spent a few hours till my phone gave me a clue. so I tried this and it worked.
I plugged my phone into my computer. Chose manage memory card option. Transfered data fine. Then using notifications menu on phone, Chose usb connections, switched to modem mode. Stopped usb device with windows, and unplugged. Memory card unlocked now.
