FBUS-HSE/H1 not detecting 100Mbps and status light blinking green
I had the HSE/H1 connected to my network, but it decided to go crazy on me and drop off the map. I know the IP Address of the unit, but am unable to connect with it anymore. I did a factory reset on the unit, but am unsure if that resets the IP address as well. If that is the case what is the best way to force an IP address on the unit? The status light blinks green at a rather fast rate as well. I can add the ethernet interface board in the interface fonfiguration utility, but can not add the hse/h1 LD since it just sits there and listens for the board forever. I hope it is an easy fix and not a matter of the unit died on me.

The blinking status LED indicates that the linking device is in standby state. The linking device will be assigned an IP address automatically through DHCP.
Please check whether the linking device and the host PC are in the same subnet. Otherwise, the linking device will not be detected.

If you have some different page, try the quick fix in Fred McD's reply.
If the sites are missing, did you use the Reset feature? That will clear the storage associated with the new tab page. I'm not sure it's possible to recover from that; you probably need to rebuild your page from scratch as you browse.
For possible future reference, here is how to access the hidden setting for the page to display on new tabs:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
* ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
* ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
* ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
* ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
Some gotchas:

''If Firefox lets you save your change but ignores it:'' one of your extensions may be overriding it. You can review, disable, and/or remove extensions on the add-ons page:

You aren't likely to find it here unless you have a specific iBook G4 issue.
Perhaps you need to repartition and reformat your HDD or reformat the Linux partition and reinstall it. -
Been using an Avastor HDX-800 for storage and backup, also a SUPERDISK for smaller stuff; recently the SUPERDISK does not appear on the screen, and the light blinks while you hear it spin, also the Avastor has started to have the same problem, both USB conncected, both worked well before, but both now spinning, blinking, and not showing up on the screen as before,
Interestingly they both appear in the System Profiler, but just not working the same as before
I have tried other USB ports, but the same responce,yes I did reset the PRAM, but no benefit, still the same problem
my usb devices are: keyboard, mouse, printer, SD-USB-M3, and LaCie d2 DVDRW:
the mouse and printed are plugged into the keyboard: i have tried to move, these around, and have even tried just the mouse, printer and SD-USB-M3, but still the same problem

My Apple TV does not respond anymore and white light flickers all the Time. No connection anymore.
In that case if you've already tried unplugging from power, waiting for a minute or so and restarting and nothing helps, you probably ned to factory restore via iTunes:

It rained in my window last night, on my power strip. My macbook adaptor (charger) and iphone adaptor were both plugged into the strip. The power strip is dead. Iphone is fine. Macbook will not boot up and charger light doesn't go on. I borrowed another charger and still no luck. What should I do? (Charger wasn't plugged into Macbook until I dried it off.)

Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).
Do not put in a bag of rice in as much as rice will get into the ports and optical drive and do further damage. -

I tried to reset and the light blinks but nothing happens after that. It won't allow me to move the cursor on the home screen. Any suggestions?
Unplug the device from power and plug it back in.
If it still fails to respond properly, connect it to a computer via microUSB and restore via iTunes. -
My wifi is on and when it tries to find a wifi connection, the gray little circle just keeps spinning and will not detect our home wifi. I have tried to search for it and connect to it manually, but it will not search for the network name. I'm hoping I don't need a new phone so please help.

IPhoto not detecting iPhone and iPad
I'm using iPhoto 08, ver 7.1.5 (378).
I've been using it with my iPhone 3GS and iPad with no problems until last night.
But starting from this morning, iPhoto would NOT detect any of my devices.
I've tried some tips from the forum -- restarting the system, deleting images from emails in my iPhone, taking picture with my iPhone and reconnect to my Mac. Noe of them worked.
Any help?Yes you are right, I found image capture app on applications folder, looks like it is an alternative to iPhoto app, however when I connect my devices and open the app I am getting a message "no camera or scanner is connected" so look like whatever is causing the problem for iPhoto also blocks image capture, that app also does not recognise my devices, is there any other way I can transfer photos?? Or what might be the problem for this iPhoto \ image capture issue??
By the way I just realised even iTunes is not detecting my devices now, so I will try a restart after I finish downloading some stuff, meanwhile please let me know if any solutions.
P.S: Is APPLE paying you guys to bombard negative comments?? Almost like once negative comments are detected you guys jump on it, I understand the fanaticism however I am facing a problem that clearly prevents me to upload my photos to my MAC and I am complaing abut it, i believe i have the right to do that as a consumer.

Pacman not detecting core and extra repositories
Yesterday, I installed yaourt and pacman-color. After installing these, my pacman doesnot find most of the packages(cups,firefox,zip,unzip,unrar).
Specifically, when I search using pacman "pacman -Ss" I get results only from the community and not from core and extra.
When I search for firefox or the above mentioned packages, I get "error: target not found: firefox"
I checked the pacman.conf file, community and core repos are uncommented only. There is no error in pacman log also. I have uninstalled yaourt and pacman-color for now. But still the issue persists.
I ran the command "pacman -Syyu" but still not detecting the packages.
Not sure this info helps, but the extra.db file in /var/lib/pacman/local has a size of 0 while the other files are not size 0. It looks like you have extra commented so pacman is being told not to look at it. Out of interest how do you know core isn't working? Have you tried searching for a package in core - eg:
\pacman -Ss coreutils
Can you post your pacman.conf please? -
HP DesignJet 111 not detected black and cian cartridges.

I have a plotter HP DesignJet 111 (CQ533A). The display shows the cian and black cartridges are fault. I change both cartrigdes, I can print two or three times, but fault again. I change the cartridges again and happens again.
The strange thing is the two cian cartridges are not detected by another plotter (DesignJet 110 use the same cian cartridge, but the black is different). Can the plotter flash the chip of the cartridge? Any tips?

Tengo un ploter HP DesignJet 111 (modelo CQ533A). En el display muestra que falta cartucho negro y cian, los cambio. Me deja tirar un par de impresiones, pero al momento me dice de nuevo que no hay cartuchos. Pongo otros dos cartuchos nuevos, funciona un par de veces, pero a las dos o tres impresiones, no me detecta los cartuchos negro y cian.
Lo extraño es que esos dos cartuchos cian (tinta modelo 11) tampoco son detectados en otro ploter (un 110, no puedo probar el negro porque el cartucho no es el mismo); es decir, es como si la máquina flasheara el chip de los cartuchos.
¿Alguna sugerencia?
