FBUS-HSE/H1No Network Status

My HSE/H1 Linking Device was working fine but now it doesn't seem to work.  The H1 Port Status lights are off.
Here is a little background which may have nothing to do with the problem except they occured at the same time.  Recently I had a problem where the PC running my appilicatioin HMI using OPC and Communication Manager 3.1 locked up due to running out of virtual memory.  I suspect a memory leak in the Communicatioin Manager.  I have had this problem where the memory usage would keep creeping up the memory usage until I would get running out of virtual memory message.  If I shut down the Communicatioin Manager, the memory usage would drop significanly to the point where I first started.  If I started up the application everything would be fine for a week or so and then the same problem.  This time I was away for awhile and upon return the PC was so locked I had to pull the power plug.  Upon trying to restart the Communication Manager I would get a meesage that the port was not avaialble.
The H1 Port status lights were out.  I rechecked all connections.  The Monitor was showing a Probe Node going to the device which should Dead but no response from the HSE/H1 Linking device.  I did a reset the the Linking Device but this had no effect.  Is my unit really dead?

Hello,
Would you please let me know the status of the other LEDs? If the Ethernet LEDs are in proper status but the H1 network status LED is off, the most probable reason is that the linking device didn't successfully get an IP address through the DHCP server. Please try to restart the linking device (power off and then power on) and force it renew the IP address.
Hope it helps and please feel free to let me know if I could do more help for you!

  • FBUS-HSE/H1 set fixed IP-Address

    I like to connect the FBUS-HSE/H1 to a 2nd LAN-Card in the computer (the 1st accesses the factory-wide network and should not be used). This card has no DHCP server available. It is possible to set the FBUS-HSE/H1 to a fixed IP-address in the address space of the LAN-card ??

    You can not set the FBUS-HSE/H1 with a fixed IP-Address, the linking device can only obtain the IP address via DHCP server. I suggest you try to use some DHCP software in the host side to have the IP address assigned to the linking device. We have ever used the Vicomsoft  (www.vicomsoft.com) DHCP Server software to configure with FBUS-HSE/H1 linking device successfully.
    On the other hand, since you have two LAN-cards (NICs) installed, you might need to pay attention that the current version of NI-FBUS CM or Configurator (for HSE version) can only connect to the first LAN-card; so I suggest you assign the factory-wide network to the 2nd card to avoid communication failures. Good news is that the next version (v3.2) of NI-FBUS software (CM and Configurator) will support multiple network interfaces (NICs).
    Hope it helps.

  • NI FBUS - HSE/H1 Capabilities

    I am in the process of looking for alternatives to Rockwell 1757-FFLD (foundation fieldbus linking device).  We have a couple of major issues with this device that are requiring us to look for a different solution.
    1.  Can we use the NI FBUS - HSE/H1 with ControlLogix?  How is this done?
    2.  Can the Emerson 375 Fieldbus Communicator communicate on an H1 segment at the same time the NI FBUS - HSE/H1 and does it interrupt communications to the devices on the segment?  The 1757-FFLD does not support this.
    3.  Can we add devices and configure to an existing segment with out interrupting the communications to the existing devices.  Explain how the schedule and configuration gets downloaded.  Currently with the 1757-FFLD, when we download the H1 segment we lose communications to all the devices.  As the configuration gets loaded to each device, the device returns online.  We are seeing communication interruptions of 10 minutes because it takes 10 minutes to download that segment.   We could live with a scenario where it momentarily interrupted the communications to 1 specific transmitter while it was downloading to that device.  When we try adding a device online and just download the configuration for the new device, we get a Schedule Download error.  The only way to get a clean download is to download the entire H1 segment.
    4.  What is the recommended number of devices on a segment?
    If you would like to discuss this via phone, I can be reached at 815-774-5278.
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards,
    David Chasse

    1. NI FUBUS - HSE/H1 LD will not work with ControlLogix
    2. If you have the latest firmware in your 1757-FFLD(C), it fully supports the 375 HHT.
    3. You can use NI FBUS Config with 1757-FFLD, however, NI FBUS  Config software does not  allow partial downloads (software imposed limitation)... full downloads stop everything on the segment.  If you are using RSFieldbus software, you can do partial downloads, add IO (FF Scheduled Communicaitons) on the fly w/o disrupting the network.
    4. In theory you can put 31 devices per segment (w/o repeaters), however, this is not practical for various reason (voltage drop, slower updates, VCR connections, and etc.).  The biggest thing to watch is the number of VCRs (producer/consumer connections on H1 are called VCRs).  A valve could produce Postion, Torque, Alarms, DI and then consume CmdPosition... This valve would produce 6 VCRs and consume 1 VCR.  A Temperature probe might only produce one VCR.  The general rule is one or two valves and 6 to 8 other devices per segment.  If you have two valves (2 x 7 VCRs) and four mass flow meters (4 x 5 VCRs) that means you need to move at least 34 packets (one-way) across the network.  FF can only perform 50 messages per second.   The bandwith is split between scheduled and unschedule at about 50/50 ratio so you really only get 25 MGS per second scheduled so you are looking at 1.3 seconds of wire time.   Realize the device require some time to create this data (D/A) before they can publish the data to the network (not less than 50ms, some times as much as 1000ms).  So the real update time could easily be 2 seconds or more (one way across the wire).  Given this performance concern, the original FFLD firmware only supported 16 Producer and 16 Consumer connections (VCRs) per segment...  Many applications consumed many more data points than they produced (especially application that just monitor data and don't do any loops).  So new firmware opens this up to 64 Producer and 64 Consumers per segment..... with a warning that moving this much data across the H1 could be slow.

  • How to show network status in top toolbar?

    how to show network status in top toolbar? Network preferences is there, but network status has disappeared on last reset of Airport Express, but may not be connected. Thanks in advance for practical help

    Interestingly, in my experience, using the method described above of unchecking the "Show Connected Servers" box in the Finder Preferences makes no difference in what I can put in the sidebar. I was able to move a sub-folder of a shared disk to the Favorites section of the Finder Sidebar, but nothing else. (i.e. I could not add the shard disk itself to the sidebar – either to the devices, favorites, or any other section, and I could only add a subfolder of the shared disk to the favorites section – not to the devices section or any other section). This was the same whether I had "Show Connected Servers" checked or not.
    I'm running OS X Mavericks, and the setup I have is with a previous generation Time Capsule (i.e. the short, square kind that you could buy before the most recent taller variety came out last year), with a LaCie 3 TB USB 3.0 external drive plugged into the USB port of the Time Capsule. I'm then accessing this network drive over WiFi. The differences in what I'm seeing may be due to some change they made in the way Mavericks handles these setups.
    I could also just be misunderstanding what you're saying, but I thought I'd add this in case anyone else gets similar results so that they'd know they're not alone. Let me know if I'm missing something here.

  • Airport Network status says Internet failed and I can not connect wirelessly. Ethernet connection works fine. Why can't I connect?

    A few days ago, my Airport Express wireless connection stopped working. The network status lights for Internet and Servers are RED and indicate failure. My Ethernet connection works fine. Any idea what my problem is?
    Thanks,
    LivingSuccess

    You could try a Safe Boot - restart holding down the shift key until the grey progress bar appears. When it's booted restart as normal from the Apple menu.
    If that doesn't help you could try an SMC reset:
    SMC Reset
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer’s power cord and disconnect peripherals.
    Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
    Press the power button to turn on the computer.

  • Network status

    I am having trouble connecting to the internet using ethernet cables. I have an Imac G5 running 10.4.2 and a G3 running 10.3.7. I ran some ethernet cable to both of them from a linskys switch but can only connect using airport. When I check network status the "built-in ethernet" does not even show up. I tried contacting my ISP but they were no help. I have SBC Yahoo with a HomePortal 1000 router hooked up to the linskys switch. Any suggestions?

    Craig, welcome, Just a thought, You might try this.
    First shut your computers clear off.
    pull the plug on your power adapter from both your Modem from SBC and your switch.
    Next wait a few minutes, like 5 or more and then .
    Plug your 1000 back in and wait until it reaquires all the lights should be 3.
    next plug back in your switch and do the same, wait on the lights..
    Finally, turn your computers back on and you should be good to go.
    That is if your Network settings are correct on both and the Sharing option has all the correct settings. Sharing is in System Preferences.
    Hope this helps...Oh one other thing Ethernet cables if you have any others change them, it could also be a bad cable...Cheers...Don

  • Using FBUS Monitor with FBUS-HSE/H1

    Hello,
    i want to use the FBUS Monitor SW with the FBUS-HSE/H1 (Ethernet) HW. But there is no interface to select. The NI FBUS Configurator works fine with the HW. I using the DHCP Server Tftpd32 v. 3.03. What can I do?
    Thank you very much!
    Harry Schäuble

    NI-FBUS Monitor should be used with NI-FBUS Interface device.
    For example, if there is a HSE/H1 linking device, you can use Monitor to obtain H1 data on this device by connecting a cable between H1 port on HSE/H1 linking device and H1 port on NI-FBUS interface card. But for HSE, NI-FBUS Monitor does not support the detection and capture of HSE data.

  • Unable to connect to internet although network status is ok

    Dear all,
    Since Monday (9 January 2005) I have been unable to access the internet using my usual web browsers (Safari, Internet Explorer and Firefox) and e-mail program (Mail) via Airport. This was despite Airport being active and the network status indicating that I was connected to the internet via Airport (green status). When plugging the iBook directly into my router, the network status naturally changed to being connected to the internet via Built-in Ethernet (I defined this order in the network port configurations). I was able to access the internet normally using my web browsers and e-mail program via Built-in Ethernet until this morning. Although the status of both Airport and Built-in Ethernet is still the same, my web browsers indicate that they can't find the respective servers.
    Your help would be very much appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Semilev

    I have exactly the same problem. Internet provider (Time Warner) repaired a cable, installed a new splitter and a new modem. It worked for a day, then same problem. TWC tech verified cable, modem and router OK, problem in the computer. My work around is to disconnect the ethernet from the computer and operate it soley on WiFi. I hope to find out what is wrong with the iMac (running Lion), but for now it works fine this way.
    I had even restoree the OS, did not help.
    Go to the network preferences and make sure your network is selected, and it should work.

  • ADF Mobile - Get network status

    OS: OSX 10.8.5
    JDEV: 11.1.2.4
    ADF Mobile Extension version: 11.1.2.4.39.64.51
    HI All,
    I'm currently in the middle of developing an ADF Mobile application and exploring the offline/online capabilities and have run into an issue where i'm trying to determine if the user has network connectivity, but its not working properly. I'm trying to make the app as dynamic as possible such that, for every transaction that requires network access, the app will check beforehand whether it is "connected" or "disconnected".  I've tried the following but not quite got there..
    1) From the link below, Joe does make note that the EL Expression "#{deviceScope.hardware.networkStatus}" to resolve the network status is only evaluated at start up, which is good for when the app opens.. but not good when the user loses network connectivity.
    Re: JDeveloper  ADF Mobile -- Android Context
    2) The link below uses javascript to evaluate the network connectivity. This works first time and every subsequent time afterwards, however, I would like the javascript to ONLY evaluate the network status and then populate a pageFlowScope variable with true or false. This bit also works fine. From here, it may seem that the pageFlowScope variable has been populated, but if the java method (which calls the javascript function to check the network connectivity) also includes code that reference the pageFlowScope variable that the javascript has just populated, it is not evaluated properly.
    Example:
        public void checkConnection(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
            // This works fine and populates the PageFlowScope variable fine
            AdfmfContainerUtilities.invokeContainerJavaScriptFunction("feature1", "application.checkConnection",
                                                                              new Object[] { });
            // The two lines below do not work properly, as if its retained the old value of the pageFlowScope.
            ValueExpression ve = AdfmfJavaUtilities.getValueExpression("#{pageFlowScope.isConnected}", String.class);
            throw new AdfException("isConnected: " + (String)ve.getValue(AdfmfJavaUtilities.getAdfELContext()), AdfException.INFO);
    Unwinding ADF: Offline Data Synchronization for ADF Mobile
    Below is a link to a sample app that i made and the steps to reproduce:
    https://app.box.com/s/ng5n362unttu7b88i42b
    - Have network connectivity
    - Click on the "Check connection via JS' button the first time
    - The popup in the foreground is the javascript showing the connectivity, which is correct
    - The popup in the background is an INFO AdfExpection showing the connectivity, which is INCORRECT
    - Click OK twice
    - Click on the "Check connection via JS' button the second time
    - The popup in the foreground is the javascript showing the connectivity, which is correct
    - The popup in the background is an INFO AdfExpection showing the connectivity, which is CORRECT
    - Click OK twice
    - disconnect your computer from the network/internet
    - Click on the "Check connection via JS' button the third time
    - The popup in the foreground is the javascript showing the connectivity, which is correct
    - The popup in the background is an INFO AdfExpection showing the connectivity, which is INCORRECT
    Has anyone has similar use case has have a work around/solution? This is driving me nuts!
    Cheers,
    Eddie

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
    That's exactly what i've used in my javascript function in my demo app and that link is the resource i used as well, however, that javascript code does populate the pageFlowScope variable fine, however, if i make reference to that pageFlowScope variable from within the same java method that includes the call to the javascript function, it does not get the updated pageFlowScope value. Only after the transaction has fully completed and i then [for example] click on a button on the screen to evaluate the pageFlowScope variable again, do i get the updated value.
    Having a stab in the dark, could it be something to do with the way the javascript is executed when updating the pageFlowScope variable and lifecycle of that transaction
    I've also tried this under the code where it populates the pageFlowScope, but it can't resolve the expression, seems like i'm doing something wrong..
    navigator.notification.alert('pageFlowScope value: ' + adf.mf.el.getValue("#{pageFlowScope.isConnected}", onSuccess, onFail), alertDismissed, 'Connected', 'OK');

  • Network Status Page

    Has EE have a network status page like most of the other networks, all i can find is http://downdetector.co.uk/problems/ee-everything-everywhere which tell's me how bad EE is, I'd have to agree.I've tried most networks this has to be the worst.Luckly i'd only bought a 90 day internet sim but 5 days with it still yet to view a webpage well except my add-on page after about 40 refresh's and about 30min's.At least i know when my contract run's out next month EE is one to avoid.

    Adding to my previous posting ... http://ee.co.uk/content/dam/everything-everywhere/documents/Our%20Company%20responsibility/EE%20Responsibility%20Report%202013.pdfmakes interesting reading and promises on Page 14 that in 2014 there is planned "Launch of online ‘real-time’ network status
    tool that allows customers to see if there’s a
    temporary network fault or planned disruption
    in their area, and the status of the issue"
     Presumably (?) it is in testing now, so that it can go live in 2014. Certainly EE's MVNOs must know about it, so how about an update here?

  • Everything under network status failed

    My wifi isnt turning on even though i do it manually so i cant even go into my safari,mail,or anything also when i go to network diagnostics everything under the network status are all red/failed and it doesnt even show on the startup page and tool bar which idk why be because this never happened before this on ly happened from a couple days ago till now

    I have a similar problem! I moved into a new appartment not so long ago. The internet is included in the rent, therefor I'm connection on my landlords network. When I first got here, I had problems with the internet which eventually got fixed by changing the modem.
    2 weeks ago, my landlords upgraded the internet to a faster one and ever since, I have been loosing my connection every 20 minutes or so and since yesterday, my MacPro litterally refuses to connect. It shows a very weak signal coming from the usual network I use and when I try to connect, it keeps on sending me the message that the connection delay has expired.
    Thing is, I also have an Hp laptop and I have 0 connection problem with it. I have been loving my Mac so far, but right now I can't help but be frustrated about it.
    Anybody has talked to someone at Apple or has gotten their problem fixed?!
    MacPro specs; 2 x 2,66 Ghz Dual Core Intel processor with a 2GB memory and it runs on Mac OS X 10.6.2. For internet connection; AirPort Extreme.

  • Trying to connect, but network status says "Ethernet cable not plugged in"

    I've got a G5, and I'm using a DSL modem (with 1 ethernet port) and a perfectly functional ethernet cable that is plugged in. Yet I can't connect to the internet, and according to the network status, the ethernet cable is not plugged in. Any help is appreciated.

    I've got a G5, and I'm using a DSL modem (with 1
    ethernet port) and a perfectly functional ethernet
    cable that is plugged in. Yet I can't connect to the
    internet, and according to the network status, the
    ethernet cable is not plugged in. Any help is
    appreciated.
    There are only three things which could be wrong.
    1 the cable is bad or not properly connected. (most probable)
    2 the DSL device (what kind of DSL device, btw?) is bad or has a bad port or is not properly connected.
    3 the Mac has a bad ethernet port, a bad ethernet controller chip, or is not properly connected.
    I'd verify that the cable has a good connection, first thing. The best way is to unplug it (at both ends) and then plug it back in.
    If no joy, I'd go over to a friend's place with Mac, cable, and DSL device.
    I'd plug the Mac into the friend's local net, using the friend's cable; if that works, the problem isn't on the Mac. If it doesn't, I'd take the Mac over to a repair shop or would get a wireless card (if not installed already) and a wireless router and connect wirelessly. Be advised that the ethernet port on an iMac is built into the motherboard, and replacing/repairing that port will require a motherboard swap and will be expensive if you're not still under warranty or AppleCare.
    If the Mac works with the friend's cable, replace that cable with yours. If it stops working, your cable is bad. Replace it. If it keeps working, your DSL device is bad. Replace it.

  • Network Status Language

    Hello all, when trying to retrieve the network status through BAPI BAPI_BUS2002_GET_STATUS, it retrieves the information always in English. I have seen in transaction CJ20N, that the status is language dependant.
    How can I retrieve the status in different languages please?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
    The system status langauge is determined thorugh table TJ02T.
    CALL FUNCTION 'STATUS_NUMBER_CONVERSION'
      EXPORTING
        LANGUAGE           = sy-langu
        STATUS_NUMBER      = lt_jest-stat
        STSMA              = l_stsma
    I am not sure how to retrive status in different langauges. Better if you put this thread in ABAP forum.
