FCE Filter settings

Has anyone published a set of suggested filter setting for various definable problems? I shot an important event with the backlight camera setting on and it's all overexposed, I think by one f-stop. Dumb, I know, but done. Any suggestions on video settings to bring it back to normal or close. any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jim

To my knowledge nobody has published such a list of suggestions.
The problem is that every situation is different so the best that can be done is to suggest a few guidelines that have to be modified to individual circumstances.
There is no way you can make your overexposed footage perfect, the best you can do is experiment with the various Brightness, Contrast, Gamma and Levels controls to see what you can achieve.

Can I "keyframe" or "animate" filter settings on a clip?

I'd like to change the levels settings and other video filter settings over time on a single clip, in a gradual, smooth way. Is there a way to do this? Setting keyframes only seems to remember things in the Motion tab.

What version of FCE are you using?
The keyframe button in the Canvas is only for motion parameters. Filters can be keyframed in the filters tab of viewer in recent versions of FCE.

Applying presets causes filter settings to get corrupted if process version updated

I have an ongoing problem with Lightroom 5.7 including earlier versions. The problem occurs when editing photos which use previous process versions (ie, 2010). My presets all have the Current Process version checked (as they should). Whenever I apply any preset to a photo, the settings for existing filters get corrupted (reset to 0). This includes my Graduated Filter settings, Adjustment Brush settings and Radial Filter settings. Those filters and their masks remain on the photo but their parameters have all been set to zero. I keep falling into this trap since it's natural to use my presets when making updates to photos. Often I don't realize this occurred until it's too late.
As a work-around (inconvenient) I can first manually update to the current process by right-clicking the photo and saying Settings/Update to Current Process (2012). Or by clicking the Lightening Bolt button in the upper right corner. But this must be done prior to applying any presets and I typically for get as my database has tens of thousands of pics. Even a preset with just the Process Version set will cause the filter settings to be corrupted. I'm not interested in applying a batch or Quick Develop process to all at once since I need to inspect each one as the process is updated. It would be great if this could be fixed in a maintenance release since it keeps biting me. I think it's important that this be fixed in LR 6.0 also. No doubt it's messed up many user's photos without them realizing it. Does anyone know a work-around so Presets can be used?
System: Win7 pro 64 (current), 4.2 GHz i7, 12GB, Lightroom 5.7.

In my opinion: not a good idea to convert old photos en-batch.
Recommend: convert (hand-selected photos) one at a time, or just use PV2012 on new photos.
There are more than one reason:
* As you know, process conversion yields very different results (if photo has been substantially edited).
* It takes some time to polish your PV2012 editing skills.
* Often when you are comparing PV2012 results to previous PV2010 results (which you've become familiar with, and like...), you may interpret differences in a more negative light, than if you were using PV2012 without comparing to a previous PV2010 version.
This last one can not be over-stated. Numerous times I have converted and been disappointed, at least initially. Recovered highlights can seem like loss of contrast. Detail in shadows can be distracting after initial conversion, until you step back for a while, then re-look at it...
Also, the process version itself (results I mean) takes some getting used to (even when not comparing to a previous legacy-pv edit). e.g. if you've become attached to the over-saturated shadows in previous process version, the shadows seem under-saturated in PV2012, etc...

WRT160N wireless MAC Filter settings reset on their own

I recently purchased and setup a WRT160N router. Having no real problems with router - it works fine with exception of the MAC filter settings. I most often access the router config from an XP machine (used to initially setup the router) which is wired, as well as from a VISTA notebook that is wireless. I am noticing that when I check the MAC filter settings, the previous setup is missing - meaning that all MAC addresses are gone, and the filtering option is removed.
I have set this up numerous times, and VERIFIED that I click on save at the bottom of the page, verify I have enable checked, etc. I am wondering if there is something I'm missing - the settings don't appear to "stay" - the filtering option simply disappears and returns to disabled. I may answer my own question here (or point myself in the right direction), but is there a dependancy on some other setting that is causing my filter to "disappear" on me?

Have you tried to reset your Router and Re-configure all the settings back on your Router? If not then Reset your Router and re-configure all the settings. If still doesn't work, then you need to upgrade the firmware of your Router. Download the latest firmware for your Router from the Linksys website, Go to http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/wrt160n/downloads and select the proper version number of your Router and download and save the firmware on your computer.
Login to the Routers GUI and click on the Administration tab and below click on the sub tab "Firmware Upgrade" and click on the browse button and select the firmware file and click on upgrade...Once the firmware upgrade is successful... Then you need to Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Filter settings in the receipts view

Hi Gurus,
i have a situation, in the Receipts view(/SAPAPO/RRP4) iam using a filter to display orders. but the filter settings are not saved, when i come out and re-enter the receipts view previous selections in the filter are reset.
i would like to save these filter settings, how to achieve this..
please share your ideas,

You create layout and save that layout. Next time you come to receipts view, select that layout.
Then all your filters and other settings will be retained.

Middleware filter settings to block transactions from flowing into CRM

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where in we need to stop the transactions from flowing to CRM from ECC based on the combination of transaction type and number range.
Here is the detailed scenario:
We have transaction types T1,T2 and T3.
Number range of T1 is 1000 to 2000
Number range of T2 is 10000 to 20000.
Number range of T2 is 1000 to 2000
Number range of T3 is 1000 to 2000
Transactions T2 (With number range 10000 to 20000) and T3 are originating in ECC.
Transactions T2 (With number range 1000 to 2000) and T1 are originating in CRM.
We need transactions T1, T2 (With number range 10000 to 20000) and T3 to flow back to CRM from ECC, but not T2 (With number range 1000 to 2000).
I tried to figure out a combination that I can enter in the middleware filter settings but couldn't get one.
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

Hi Kris,
Can you check if you can add the Number range filter value in Table SMOFFILFLD and then maintain the number range filter to restrict the T2 transaction type as per your scenario.

Yup! Apply what you want to one object, then copy the object,
then
shift+ctrl+alt+v the other objects to paste attributes (or
Edit>Paste
attributes).

Equipment replication with new filter settings

Hi all,
ECC-CRM middleware settings are already in place. I then added status of the equipment as a new filter (Table-JEST, Field-STAT) as two lines (one for system status and one for user status) in R3AC1.
Delta replication is happening fine.
When i try to do initial load, no equipment is replciated for the filter settings maintained.
In R3AM1, i see the block size as zero.
Can someone help me on this?

Need help with trying to copy or determine filter settings

I applied two different filters to two separate layers in photoshop. I kinda forgot the exact settings and I need to find a way to apply the filter settings to multiple layers in separate documents. Is there any way to determine what the filter and it's settings where or a way to copy a filter on a layer from one document to another?

Thanks guys for the help. The Migration Assistant did not work. The only choices to use Migration assistant were to connect an old computer, use Time Machine, or use a OS X partition. So just having a copy of the home folder did not seem to work there.
However, copying the contents of each folder worked like a charm and now my computer is exactly as it was before.

Filter Settings

Am trying to install Photo Elements 9 onto my new Windows 2010 Program and it asks for changes to my filter settings. How do I do this and at the same time set Photo Elements as my default for photos?

From your bapi Response-> draw the flow to table. In the table you would have the employeeUnit field already, add then a inputfield for Carclass.
Click on the carclass field on the right side (Configure panel) -> then value -> double click on fx / Define expression - > You would see the pop-up of Dynamic Expression Editor.
=IF(@employeeUnit==K4,"compactclass",IF(@employeeUnit==K5,"upper class ","whatever"))
You can use this filter if there are fewer employeeUnits....

SLT Filter Settings to Quality

We have recently upgraded our SLT system from DMIS Add on to SP7 from SP4.We exported the filter settings of all the tables from LTRS of our DEV system.Then we tried to import the filter settings in QA system but changed fileds are not getting populated.View Modification Overview is showing all the fields.
Can anyone suggest how to carry out Table settings change across the landscape in SP7?

But now the initial load is in status Running(R3ac1) and SYSFAIL(SMQ2)and Mapping error(SMW01).
now if I start request load does it affect the initial load?
the error is customer already assigned in CRM may be from the past load from a different sales org, if i remove the past sales org from R3AC1 does it affect the Delta load between the systems?

Saving Smart Filter Settings with Layer Comps

Have attempted to save various smart filter setting combinations for a stack of smart filters using Layer Comps but all layer comps default to the same smart filter setting regardless of the setting when the layer comp was created.
Consider changing Layer Comps be to save the smart filter settings also.

Loading filter settings..HOW?

In the past I had created some preference settings for filter 'smart sharpen'. I always assumed that in case of reinstalling CS3, it would be possible to insert my old CS3 recepies from back-up.
But I seem to hit a brick wall;
Where does CS3 save its smart sharpen recipes?
I noticed search cannot find a recipe either by file name or inside a file.
What is the file name were filter settings are stored?
Can I just overwrite with previous CS3 preferences? (there are no custom preferences in this CS3 yet)
And is it possible to import old CS2 preferences for filters?

You can add more task simply creating new entries and adding 1 to the index field. I mean you can have several task as follow:
