What's going on with facebook app? All dates under the photos are January 1, 1970 and can't open the photos??! I have seen other people having the same problem, is thjere a fix??

There is a friends on chat window on Fcebook home page that is missing. Where is it and how can I get I back?

On the home page in Facebook, on the bottom of the left hand corner there is supposed to be a friends on chat window that shows green dots and pictures of my friends that are on chat. Mine is no longer there and i was hoping that you can help me in finding it and putting it back.

Hi Patricia, the theory behind clearing cookies is that they may include obsolete or corrupted information. There's no way to know which one poses the problem, so it's usually best to clear them all. Facebook will set new cookies when you log back into the site.
Regarding the chat windows, I don't why the two accounts would work differently. Perhaps it is a setting within Facebook?

Why cant i export seected photos to fcebook

i see there is an icon at the bottom, but its grayed out?? the oly icon i can click is MobileMe, what do i need to do?

Register with Facebook and then input your registration details when asked by iPhoto.

Is there any way to check on my own internet usage?

I am really puzzled by my new satellite internet provider (Exede). I joine on 2/14 and by 2/16 they said I had exceeded (pun intended) my 10 gig monthly limit. I know I had not, so when I contacted them and had them check their details, they had my down for 4 gigs both that Sat (15th) and Sunday (16th) between 4PM and 9PM.
     a. I was not even near my iMac between 4:30 and 6:30, and was watching the olympics from7:30.
     b. I had not sent more than 5-6 emails, had not downloaded any videos, movies, etc.
     c. Their tech person said it was really strange even from their viewpoint, but could do little. He did give a super bonus (for free!) of two more gigs - never to be done again.
     d. Their tech person said they had complete confidence in their records and also believed something very strange was going on - like someone else or some virus was using my iMac. I live in a very rural area - thus the satellite connection try. I don't have any neighbors who use my wi-fi.
     e. Does the iMac send constant data on its own? Could it be possible for a virus or some other program to be doing such strange, unauthorized activity? Is there a way to check what acutally went on two days ago?
     f. His only other solution is to unplug their modem when I am not using the computer. Sigh.
Today I rechecked my use of the 2 gigs of bonus they gave me. I have carefully monitored my usage.
a. Yesterday I sent 9 emails, got about 20; watched about 5 minutes of a youtube video; and sent a 4.7 imovie enclosure via email. Their recorded me as using 5 gigs!!
b. Today (it is still am when I write this), I checked my email - 20+ emails, sent 10 (no enclosures) and watched exactly 4:30 minutes of Fcebook videos. Exede added 2 more gigs!!
I cannot figure out how this is happening. I guess I will have to cancel the service with only a week of being a user - unless someone can help me find the mysterious culprit, be it an unknown meighbor, a mysterious code in my iMac or ???

Any client on a network, including wireless clients you don't know about, could be consuming bandwidth. Wi-Fi networks must be protected with WPA2 security. If yours isn't, change the security setting on the access point. If it's already set that way, change the password. Make it a string of at least 8 random characters, including digits and upper- and lower-case letters. The password is saved in the keychain and you don't have to be able remember it; in fact, you shouldn't be able to remember it.
You make these changes in AirPort Utility, if the access point is an Apple device, or in a web browser otherwise.
If the network or the password was insecure, and bandwidth use returns to normal after securing it, you can be pretty sure the problem was caused by intruders.
But intrusion may not be the issue. Most often BitTorrent, iCloud, Dropbox, or some other cloud-data application is involved in cases of mysterious bandwidth use by a Mac. If you use iCloud, uncheck at least Photo Stream and Documents & Data in its preference pane and see whether there's any change. If you use third-party network backup or file-sync software, disable that. If you use a torrent client, remove it.
Otherwise, if you're running OS X 10.9 or later, you can see which processes are most active on the network.
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select All Processes from the View menu, if not already selected, and also select the Network tab.
Click the heading of the Sent Bytes column in the process table to sort the entries by bandwidth usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Repeat with the Rcvd Bytes column.

How do I remove the Facebook selfie and my name from iPad 3 multitask screen?

When the home button is double clicked and all open apps are visible by sliding left or right (multitasking screen), iOS8 has inserted my Facebook photo at the top of the screen with my name under it. If I click/touch the image, a small text baloon pops up. That in turn allows immediate responding to a text message, or sending of a text message. How do I remove my image and name? I deleted the image from my FCebook account but the Oscar has already stored a copy. right now I have to find a way to keep the keyboard from second guessing me and replacing what I want typed with what it wants typed (See 'Oscar' above, should have been OS).

I Think you can turn off the Recents you are seeing in the App Switcher by using the Settings app.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Scroll down to the Contacts section > Show in App Switcher > Turn that Off

Why does flash player not work with facebook?

Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.

This means you don't have the latest version installed. Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

I can't upload photos to facebook from the photo library after upgrading to iOS 8

AFter updating ios8 i can't upload photos from photo library to fcebook..even i can't upload photos with safari browser...what can i do now??

It is peculiar, that Chrome, Safari, and Skype can access FB, but not the iPhoto uploader.
Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:

Is it true that new Facebook update can drain your data if you leave video On setting

Let me make myself a little clearer. on your iphone under settings you can find the facebook settings page. if you click on settings under logo you will see chat box. video box, and notifications. I was told that the new update from Fcebook automatically sets itself up as On which will run all the time and eat up your celluar date. Is this true? so you must switch it to wi-fi only to save your data.

In iMovie on the iPad: Recombining two video clips

I am using iMovie on the iPad (iOS 8.1.1.). I have a project where I split a video clip into two parts. I wanted to put a title that runs across both clips but it fades in and out so it doesn't stay on the screen for the entire two clips. I can't undo because I've made too many other changes since I split the original clip. Is there a way to recombine these two clips so that I can run a single title across the entire clip?

I have come up with a workaround, but would like something better. I originally sent the video to iTunes from within
The iMovie program.
I then transferred it to my pc and it was in dv format. I did not see any options for saving it in another format. If it is possible to save it in something the pc can read and ultimately that fCebook can read, I would appreciate knowing how. Yes, I do have QuickTime.
What I ended up doing was buying an app called "photo transfer app". First I saved the video to the camera roll. Then I used the app to wirelessly transfer the iMovie video to my pc and then I was able to upload it to Facebook. It was all very slow and inefficient. When I save a video to the camera roll it saves it in the .MOV format.
I was also able to transfer the video from iPad to pc by saving to the camera roll and then importing the video into Adobe Bridge CS5
Isn't there a more direct way of saving a video to the pc from within imovie in a format it recognizes?

Overnight facebook page is turned around, someone said could be mozilla?

i logged into facebook and the home page is different than before. all apps, friends and such are on the right side of page when they should be on the the left. checked with facebook help since you can not chat with them and everyone says firefox, i open with internet explorer and fcebook is ok. never had a problem with firefox and face book before until couple days ago?

Fantastic service from bt customer services. Chance would be a fine thing.
I have spend hours on their chat lines getting nowhere. They keep saying they will escalated my complaint but it does not happen. I keep saying the same thing over and over and over again.
As for getting through their automated switchboard that is ridiculous, it cannot understand what I say. If I do manage to get through to someone I find it difficult understand what they say, and they are most unhelpful. One even told me he did not have a manager.
Where is this helpful lady, how can I contact her?

Deleting from iphoto but not from facebook

When I first bought my mac I was happy to just use iphoto for the few pics i take . . . i have now started to become a photographer, and i am needing to store my photos externally due to the limited space on my macbook pro . . .
Is there a way for me to delete the photos on iphoto but keep them on facebook?
OR . . alternatively . . .
if I store my photos on the external HDD and make that the default library location, (but still deleting the library on the MBP), would the facebook photos be affected?
Im not sure what my options are now that I am wanting to free up space to work with on my mac.

iPhoto syncs with Facebook - the idea being if you make a change in one place then it will also be made in the other. So, if you sync with Facebook and delete from your Mac it will eventually be deleted from Facebook as well. In effect, you're using iPhoto to manage the collection you have online.
If you don't want that don't use the Share to Facebook command. Instead use any of the (many) other ways to upload to Facebook. That way, deleting from your Mac will not affect your material online.
BTW, the same is true of the relationship between iPhoto and Flickr, and the same solution if that's not what you want.
Moving your Library to an external disk will not affect Facebook and your online syncs in any way.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're becoming a photgrapher then you'll quickly realise that Fcebook is nowhere to store your photos. They are "processed" when uploaded and that's a code word for "heavily compressed and reduced in quality". For instance, I just ran a test. I uploaded a 2.7mb Jpeg to Facebook, and then downloaded it again. The file size of the downloaded image? 873kb - or about 66% smaller. That's 66% of the data in the file thrown away.
There are much better locations online for storing, sharing and backing up your photos - Flickr, SmugMug, Zenfolio, literally, hundeds - and they are dedicated photo sites, geared to the needs of the Photographer.
If you are serious about being a photographer you might also like to compare the permission you give Facebook to use and sell your photos compared to these other sites.

U can try using Nimbuzz for facebook chat or use Fcebook chat app if present in Nokia store..
