FCHI Check numbers too long
I need to change the long of the numbers from 8 to 7 characters for a company code and a house bank, but i have 2 lots that i can not delete. They are marked with Non-sequential.
There is a Note 16702 in OSS, but is for numbers too short, in the other way.
Someone can help me.
Thanks.
HI,
Is this the error you are getting?
The error FIBL 664 is issued when changing check length, but can be changed to a warning message or totally switched off via transaction OBA5. Choose application area FIBL> click new entry (if does not exist yet) and choose message no 664 and make the necessary changes to change the system message to a warning or switch off, depending on what is suitable to your business requirement.

Regarding iPhoto '11 9.5 (902.7 build running on an older Intel based MacBook Pro with iPhoto libraries on a USB2 External HD). I am dealing with iPhoto taking too long to download photos. Specifically, I rechecked and repaired HD permissions. I am running the most current software my five year old Intel MacBook Pro can run. What happens is that when I connect an external SD card, or my iPhone, the new version of iPhoto takes up to two full minutes to fully acknowledge the device. Then locate new photos and be ready to download them to my external HD. I am kind of concerned about this. This has never happened before.
I take 20,000 photos a year. I really don't want to lose any. Or is there something I am doing wrong? Or need to be aware of? Any experienced suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Have a great day.
PS.... The cameras I use are Canon SX-30, Nikon D3100, and my iPhone 4S. Thanks again for your assistance.Hello Old Toad.... Those sound like great ideas.
I thought I checked and repaired disk permissions on my main boot HD. That boot disk is Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Capacity 749.3 GB. Available 562.53 GB. BUT.... now that I think of it.... the Seagate external HD with USB2 interface is: Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Capacity 639.79 GB, Available 36.2 GB with my latest iPhoto Library 517.37 GB that was already scanned & updated to be read by the latest iPhoto version.
I'll try your suggestions tonight as far as double checking 'permissions' and setting up a tiny test library.
Or maybe it's time to fill up another External HD?
I appreciate your and anyone else's suggestions to try.
Have a great day. ~~ David in Rochester NY -
I recently updated my iPad to iOS 8 and still checking on the settings. When I happened to swipe on my screen for too long, it zoomed and I can no longer see what's on it. I can not even unlock it. I can not use my iPad anymore. What shall I do?
Try double tapping with three fingers and see if that reduces the screen image. If it does, unlock the iPad and go to Settings>General>Accessibility>zoom>Off. If double tapping with three fingers doesn't work, try triple tapping the home button instead.

Thank you SO much. Sorry. I am flustered and didn't even notice. LOL
Have a good night. I have posted my question in the correct forum now. Thanks for your help. -

Streamline query ? Taking too long
First I wanted to say thanks to all in this forum, its been a huge help learning sql.
Hoping someone can take a look at this query. It works but it takes a very long time to run.
maybe there is a way to streamline it. right now its using one project number, but typically I would put in 60 or 70 project numbers here..
select proj_id from project_master where status='A' and project_number IN(
'502998'
)))c,
if someone knows a better way to run this please let me know , I will try anything. currently it takes about an hour to run it for 1 project number.

Edited by: Jay on Dec 29, 2010 12:08 PMHi,
Please, you might want to read this post:
When your query takes too long ...
Providing further information is key to obtaining quality answers.
Now on to the actual subject:
It seems you want some sort of top-n query. Depending on the cardinality and the data that you have, you probably would want to prune the rows from the DOCUMENT_RELATIONS table early, before joining to the other tables. This way you can avoid the database wasting effort of looking up matches on the other tables to only then discard those joined rows. You can do that by pushing the WHERE rnk < 3 predicate into the inline view.
SELECT *
FROM (SELECT b.doc_folder_id, c.project_number, b.name, a.doc_file_name, a.rec_update_date, a.rec_create_date, d.rnk
FROM (SELECT doc_id, proj_id, doc_file_name, rec_create_date, rec_update_date
FROM document_master
WHERE doc_status = 'A'
AND doc_file_extension IN ('pdf', 'jpg', 'xls', 'doc', 'txt', 'png', 'tif', 'ppt', 'pps', 'msg')) a,
(SELECT *
FROM doc_folder_master
WHERE upper(NAME) LIKE '%DAILY REPORTS%'
OR upper(NAME) LIKE '%MANPOWER REPORTS%'
OR upper(NAME) LIKE '%SITE PURCHASES%'
OR upper(NAME) LIKE '%SETE EHS ISSUES%'
OR upper(NAME) LIKE '%TURNOVER PACKAGES%'
OR upper(NAME) LIKE '11.04.01 PAD%'
OR upper(NAME) LIKE '%EDSR%'
OR upper(NAME) LIKE '%COQ WORKFLOW%'
AND status = 'A') b,
(SELECT proj_id, project_number
FROM project_master
WHERE proj_id IN (SELECT proj_id
FROM project_master
WHERE status = 'A'
AND project_number IN ('502998'))) c,
(SELECT *
FROM (SELECT child_doc_type,
parent_doc_id,
child_doc_id,
to_char(rec_create_date, 'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss'),
row_number() over(PARTITION BY parent_doc_id, child_doc_type ORDER BY rec_create_date DESC) rnk
FROM document_relations)
WHERE rnk < 3) d
WHERE a.proj_id = b.proj_id
AND c.proj_id = a.proj_id
AND c.proj_id = b.proj_id
AND d.parent_doc_id = b.doc_folder_id
AND a.doc_id = d.child_doc_id)Like Toon said, if not needed you should avoid the 2nd scan in the PROJECT_MASTER table.
Perhaps you should check the possibility of creating a function-based index on the doc_folder_master table, with the upper(NAME) expression, to improve those Like conditions.

Unable to evaluate workflow rule - Value too long for field
Need help with a workflow error for a record update before the record is saved. There are 3 calculations that would be done in a particular order - all on number fields. Each time, I am overwriting existing values. The individual numbers could have up to 6 decimal spaces. When I try to update one or more fields that contain the calculation, I get an error message saying that the system is unable to evaluate the workflow rule - value too long for field (zNum6).
This same calculation is fine when a new record is entered and the calculation is done as a default field value.
Any ideas?I actually had to use a ToChar function at the beginning of the calculation and #### to indicate the number of digits to make this work. Oracle Help Desk provided the answer - quickly.

Error message:-
The source file name are larger than is supported by the file system.try moving to a location which has a shorter path name or try renaming to shortcut names before attempting this operations

Triyambak
Regards, TriyambakI have tried everything , but nothing help , getting same error
could any one help me regarding this.
Regards, Triyambak
I have not looked at the other thread mentioned, but usually when this ends up happening, There are several ways to go about it. One is to map a drive to the UNC path deeper into the folder structure.
So instead of C:\long\path\that\we\dont\want\files\in
You map a drive.. lets say M:\ to \\computer\c$\long\path\that\we\dont\want
Now, when you open Explorer to M:\ you've elimintated the length of the path down to M:\files\in which is completely usable.
The other way, is to shorten the names of everything. For example...
Folder structure like this:
Root
-----Folder1
-----Folder2
--------------Folder2A
-----Folder3
--------------Folder3A
Rename all the folders to shorten up the path. Rename Folder1 to '1' Rename Folder2 to '2', Rename folder3 to '3. Then try to delete. If it's still too long, go one folder deeper. Rename Folder2A to '1' and
Rename Folder3A to '1' and so on. Basically keep renaming everything to a single digit character and eventually you'll shrink the path down to where you can shift-delete everything remaining.
Hope that helps.

Cannot delete file: filename too long
Sometime ago, I made a copy of a hierarchy of folders under my "Users" folder to another drive as a quick backup. I no longer need this copy of folders and files. So when I tried to delete these files I got a message that some filenames are too long. When
I look at these files they mostly seem to be part of Internet Explorer temp directory, and also some files used by Mozilla Thunderbird, so they were likely created by these utilities on purpose. I cannot rename them to shorter names, or even move them to lower
folders. I can't even copy their filenames to show you what these filenames are! When I use the DOS prompt's "dir /x" command these files do not even have any 8.3 short filenames either, which I could've used to delete them with. There are over 400 of these
files!
I know what the problem is, the Windows OS has a limit of somewhere around 250 characters for filenames and complete pathnames. I've seen some utilities advertised saying that they can delete these files, but they all require money. Anything that's free?
Yousuf KhanHi,
It is just for testing. It is good since the files can be deleted in Linux.
However, if you don't have Linux, it needs to find the way to delete the files under Windows.
Since the files are located in Internet Explorer temp directory, you could use Disk Cleanup to clear the Temporary Internet Files.
Also, check if the following KB is helpful. It has several methods. Go to check if 8.3 name creation is disabled.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320081
Best Regards,
L.S
Regarding it being in the Internet Explorer temp directory, it actually wasn't. Remember I said in the original posting that this was in a backup directory of these directories, so Disk Cleanup has no way of knowing that this belongs to Internet Explorer
or anything else. Also there was a Thunderbird directory having the same issues as well, which Disk Cleanup wouldn't have touched no matter what.
Okay, I checked out the state of the filesystem registry. The "NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation" entry in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem" is set to non-zero, meaning the feature is in effect. Interestingly it was set to 2
rather than 1, but I doubt that makes a difference.
Even if I disable this feature right now, all previously created files still won't be assigned the 8.3 filenames, just only those files that are newly created will have the 8.3 filenames available.

I can't view my website at www.artisancandies.com, even though it's working and everyone else seems to see it. No, I don't have a firewall, and it's not because of my internet provider - I have AT&T at work, and Comcast at home. My husband can see the site on his laptop. I tried dumping my cache in both Firefox and Safari, but it didn't work. I looked at it through proxify.com, and can see it that way, so I know it works. This is so frustrating, because I used to only see it when I typed in artisancandies.com - it would never work for me if I typed in www.artisancandies.com. Now it doesn't work at all. This is the message I get in Firefox:
"The connection has timed out. The server at www.artisancandies.com is taking too long to respond."
Please help!!!

My company has several TVs with AppleTVs (3rd generation units) connected in our conference rooms so we can "Screen Mirror" our Mac laptops via AirPlay during meetings. Many employees have complained that AirPlay Screen Mirroring drops frequently during meetings for no apparent reason.
In attempts to determine the cause of the issue, I removed the AppleTV units from Wi-Fi and hard-wired them all to the LAN (100Mbps/Full duplex, no switchport errors seen on the Cisco switch). I upgraded the AppleTVs to the latest firmware. I had our AppleTV users ensure they were running MacOS Mavericks with the latest software updates installed. I had the Mac laptops hard-wired into the LAN during meetings in the conference rooms. None of these changes resolved the AirPlay issue.
I reviewed the MacOS "/var/log/system.log" file from the laptops of several users that reported issues. I found a pattern that seemed to indicate that the "coreaudiod" process reported "Feedback taking too long to send" several times before the AppleTV connection was terminated. Also, from a network trace (using "tcpdump") taken during an unexpected AirPlay Screen Mirroring disconnection, I could see that the Mac laptop sent a TCP FIN packet to the AppleTV unit (this would indicate that the MacOS laptop initiated the closing of the AirPlay connection).
I have included the relevant log file entries below. Please note that the LAN internal to our company is "solid" and there have been no connectivity issues detected or reported during the times the AirPlay sessions were disconnected.
I believe I have found a workaround to this issue. By going into "System Preferences", "Sound" and then changing the "Output" device BACK to the "Internal Speakers" (rather than the AirPlay destination), the AirPlay Screen Monitoring connection seems to remain stable.
My questions are:
- is anyone else experiencing this type of problem? any other solutions recommended?
- is there a way to change the AirPlay defaults so that Screen Mirroring only sends the video (not audio)?
- does anyone know what the log file entries indicate (like, what does "Feedback taking too long to send...." mean)?
- any fix planned for this issue?

-TimI'm currently still experiencing this as well. I've confirmed it occurs on 10.9.1, 10.9.2, and 10.9.3 on MacBook Pro Retina's, Mid-2012 and 2013 MacBooks. It happens on multiple ATV's not just one, all are updated to 6.1.1 and a simple reboot seems to fix it temporarily but it does come back. All the ATV's are connecting to the network via Wireless not Ethernet. These are 3rd Gen ATV's but I checked the serial number and these do not match the bad batch of Apple TV's from 2013 that were offered up for Replacement for Apple due to the bad firmware update. None of the computers have the Firewall turned on. Here's the two logs that we always find after the issue occurs (logs are recent, happened this morning):
5/30/14 8:57:36.017 AM coreaudiod[183]: 2014-05-30 08:57:36.016946 AM [AirPlay] ### Feedback taking too long to send (30 seconds, 17 total)
5/30/14 8:57:36.332 AM coreaudiod[183]: 2014-05-30 08:57:36.331492 AM [AirPlay] ### Feedback failed: -6723/0xFFFFE5BD kCanceledErr
The user will get disconnected from Airplay anywhere between 30 seconds to 3 minutes after logging on and can reconnect but then once again get disconnected after the same time period. One interesting thing to note is that when the Feedback Taking Too Long to send error starts occuring and the countdown to disconnect start ticking down to 30, its solely referring to Audio not being sent over the network and Video is working just fine. If I try to play sound I get another log and the sound doesn't play through the speakers. After a reboot, sound works fine and the Feedback Error's do not show up. I've also tried switching to Internal Speakers (since it defaultly switches to Airplay Speakers) after connecting to Airplay and seeing the Feedback timer start in the Console Logs but even after that the log continues to saw its taking too long to send and disconnects in 30 seconds.
This issue has been ongoing for months, I've got a ticket logged as far back as January with this occuring but its infrequent enough that we've just restarted and moved on. I'd say its an issue that occurs to about 5%-10% of meetings but that's an entire meeting that doesn't have the ability to Airplay until someone comes down and reboots it.
I don't often post in this forum but its still an active issue with no resolution, proof that its occuring on other people's systems, and no firmware updates having been released to correct it. It'd be nice to know of any workarounds other than having to buy some lamp timers for each conference room just to get a functional ATV or putting up a sign that says hey if you get disconnected every 3 minutes, reboot the ATV. The whole reason we're using Apple products is for ease of use otherwise I'd put together a much cheaper solution myself. Any help or recommended troubleshooting steps would be fantastic at this point. -
Accessing BKPF table takes too long
Hi,
Is there another way to have a faster and more optimized sql query that will access the table BKPF? Or other smaller tables that contain the same data?
I'm using this:
select bukrs gjahr belnr budat blart
into corresponding fields of table i_bkpf
from bkpf
where bukrs eq pa_bukrs
and gjahr eq pa_gjahr
and blart in so_DocTypes
and monat in so_monat.
The report is taking too long and is eating up a lot of resources.
Any helpful advice is highly appreciated. Thanks!Hi max,
I also tried using BUDAT in the where clause of my sql statement, but even that takes too long.
select bukrs gjahr belnr budat blart monat
appending corresponding fields of table i_bkpf
from bkpf
where bukrs eq pa_bukrs
and gjahr eq pa_gjahr
and blart in so_DocTypes
and budat in so_budat.
I also tried accessing the table per day, but it didn't worked too...
while so_budat-low le so_budat-high.
select bukrs gjahr belnr budat blart monat
appending corresponding fields of table i_bkpf
from bkpf
where bukrs eq pa_bukrs
and gjahr eq pa_gjahr
and blart in so_DocTypes
and budat eq so_budat-low.
so_budat-low = so_budat-low + 1.
endwhile.
I think our BKPF tables contains a very large set of data. Is there any other table besides BKPF where we could get all accounting document numbers in a given period? -
Report script taking too long to export data
Hello guys,
I have a report script to export data out of a BSO cube. The cube is 200GB in size. But the exported text file is only 10MB. It takes around 40 mins to export this file.
I have exported data of this size in less than a minute from other DBs. But this one is taking way too long for me.
I also have a calc script for the same export but that too is taking 20 mins which is not reasonable for a 10MB export.
Any idea why a report script could take this long? Is it due to huge size of database? Or is there a way to optimize the report script?
Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksThanks for the input guys.
My DATAEXPORT is taking half the time than my report script export. So yeah it is much faster but still not reasonable(20 mins for one month data) compared to other DBs that are exported very quick.
In my calc I am just FIXING on level 0 members for most of the dimensions against the specific period, year and scenario. I have checked the conditions for an optimal report script, I think mine is just fine.
The outline has like 15 dimensions in it and only two of them are dense. Do you think the reason might be the huge size of DB along with too many sparse Dims?
I appreciate your help on this.
Thanks -
Hi Guys,
The loading performance is very slow to our cubes, the daily report needs to be up by early morning..........
the extraction time in the data packets is taking too long
is it because of huge change log data
the server load isnt much
Thanks,
your help will be rightly appreciatedHi,
If there any Indexes on your cube, then delete indexes before loading the data.
And minimise your data packet size.not more than 50 thousend records.
Check you data base space.
You can go to T-Code DB20 which gives you all the performance related information like
Partitions
Databases
Schemas
Buffer Pools
Tablespaces etc
I hope this will help you .Assign points if this helps.
Regards........
