FCP 7 regarding compression

I'm relatively new to FCP 7...
I have a question about this part...if you look at the bottom right section...there was a file that i had to compress in order to get vimeo video up...
but it was done compressing...it came out "failed." I was still able to load it up...but i was wondering why it came out as "failed."
Any help?

try opening the disclosure triangle in the history window next to "publish to apple tv."  MIght give you some info.
Also, you might have more info in the batch monitor app which is in applications:  utilities

  • Audio issues from FCP to Compression to DVDSP regarding 24p

    This has probably been asked before. I exported my 2 hour Anamorphic 24p movie into Quicktime self contain with Audio. Once I run through compressor (.m2v and .ac3) And import the files into DVDSP, on the track it progressively goes out of sync. Its good in the beginning and then it gradually goes out of synce. Please Help.

    if your audio is in sync with the video only for the first second or so, and then gets more off as time goes by, it may be that your video is at 24fps and your audio is at 29.97 or 30. also, did you check the original move your exported (the one that went to compressor) to see if the audio was synced there?

  • Best Qualilty From FCP into Compresser

    Ok, So ive filmed a short 6 min video in HDV 1080i60,and edited in that format, now because most of my clients DVD players don't read HDDVD I must compress it to something readable for SDDVD with out losing any of the quality.Now Ive tried MPEG-2 and it's crap, so ive tried numerous differnt formats and the best that ive come up with is JPEG-PHOTO. 1. Is their anything better then this?
    2. Should I just transfer back onto my DV tape and go to a post house and get them to transfer on to DVD or will they have the same problem?
    3.Can I Have and HD format and SD format on the same DVD so when it's inserted to HDDVD or SDDVD it can read it?
    Any Answers would be greatful?
    Thanks
    SHawn

    DVD with out losing any of the quality.Now Ive tried MPEG-2 and it's crap, so ive tried numerous differnt formats and the best that ive come up with is JPEG-PHOTO. 1. Is their anything better then this?
    It needs to be MPEG 2 for SD DVD. Export from FCP uncompressed. Then use the best settings in Compressor. Bring into DVD SP and set track to 16:9 letter box. If you have more details on the footage and workflow it helps (settings, compression settings, type of footage, what does "crap" mean, how are you viewing things.)
    2. Should I just transfer back onto my DV tape and go to a post house and get them to transfer on to DVD or will they have the same problem?
    You could but you should be abllee to get fairly good results. Also downloadd bitVice from innobits.se (they have demo) to see if that helps. Not sure how mmuch a transfer house may charge but it may cover the cost of bitVice
    3.Can I Have and HD format and SD format on the same DVD so when it's inserted to HDDVD or SDDVD it can read it?
    No, though the new HD players are in theorry suppossed to be backkwards compatible (HD DVD not blu ray)

  • Converting MOD files for FCP - what compression?

    I've been given lots of MOD (and MOI) files to edit. I realise I need to convert these to quicktime MOV files before I can import them into FCP, and I will be using MPEG Streamclip to do this.
    The question is what compression should I use? h.264, Apple DV PAL, the list is endless. The end result will be exported for the web.
    If it helps, the footage was recorded on a Canon FS-200.

    Here is a link to the Nick Holmes tutorial on MPEG Streamclip

  • Regarding compression in ACE

    Hi All,
    I need to configure the Compression policy in ACE.
    Pls can any ne explain me how to do the compression policy and troublshooting the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Lingaraj

    Hi Lingaraj,
    You can configure compression by entering the compress command under a Layer 7 load-balancing policy. For example:
    class-map type http loadbalance match-any L7default-compression- exclusion-mime-type_CLASS
    description Classmap for default SLB compression exclusion mime-types.
    2 match http url .*gif
    3 match http url .*css
    4 match http url .*js
    policy-map type loadbalance first-match L7_COMP_SLB_POLICY
    class L7default-compression-exclusion-mime-type_CLASS
       serverfarm SFARM1
    class class-default
       serverfarm SFARM1
       compress default-method deflate
    You can create the http parameter map and apply that pmap to a policy map.
    parameter-map type http  compression
        compress minimum-size xxx

  • Question regarding COMPRESSION

    Hi Experts,
    I have created a table a normal table without compression as shown below:
    SQL> CREATE TABLE t pctfree 50 as select * from all_objects;
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into t select * from t;
    41261 rows created.
    SQL> insert into t select * from t;
    82522 rows created.
    SQL> commit;
    Commit complete.
    SQL> select compression from user_tables where table_name = 'T';
      PCT_FREE COMPRESS
            50 DISABLED
    SQL> column segment_name format a20
    SQL> select segment_name, bytes/1024, blocks from user_segments where segment_name in ('T');
    SEGMENT_NAME         BYTES/1024     BLOCKS
    T                         33792       4224Now, I will compress this table:
    SQL> alter table t move compress;
    Table altered.
    SQL> select pct_free, compression from user_tables where table_name = 'T';
      PCT_FREE COMPRESS
             0 ENABLED
    SQL> select segment_name, bytes/1024, blocks from user_segments where segment_name in ('T');
    SEGMENT_NAME         BYTES/1024     BLOCKS
    T                          6144        768Oracle has indeed compressed the data. But, for some reason, data has been inserted into this table without using APPEND hint and the result is that the table now contains both compressed and uncompressed data.
    SQL> insert into t select * from t;
    165044 rows created.
    SQL> select pct_free, compression from user_tables where table_name = 'T';
      PCT_FREE COMPRESS
             0 ENABLED
    SQL> select segment_name, bytes/1024, blocks from user_segments where segment_name in ('T');
    SEGMENT_NAME         BYTES/1024     BLOCKS
    T                         22528       2816
    SQL>Is there a way to identify that there exists uncompressed data, without rebuilding the table?

  • FCP Quicktime Compression Codec?

    Does anyone have any suggestions on a Quicktime Compression Codec that works well with Final Cut Pro? I need the codec to capture and export quicktime movies in Final Cut Pro. As of right now I don't have the ability to compress.
    Is there a standard one?
    Is there a 3rd party?

    *Does anyone have any suggestions on a Quicktime Compression Codec that works well with Final Cut Pro? I need the codec to capture and export quicktime movies in Final Cut Pro*
    *I want to be able to export a QT movie that will fit on a DVD (1.5 hours of footage).*
    When original post says what it does and your most recent post says something materially different, we all kind of scratch our heads.
    Help us in the future with what you wish to do with what and for what.

  • FCP Sequence compression / format for editing photos for a HD Plasma screen

    Hello Forum
    I'm editing a 10 minute documentary that's mostly based on graphics and photographs, and a voiceover. There's maybe 30 seconds of HD Video in it (Sony EX1 Camera). (But I assume the video will be convertable into any format anyway.)
    The final film will be screened on an 1920x1080 HD Screen.
    What sequence preset should I use? I don't see any 1920x1080 in my final cut pro 5.2.
    I'm somewhat new to the world of HD. Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Cheers,
    sk

    Thank you for all your replies.
    You guys are right. Sorry it's 5.1.4...
    Let's assume there's no video involved. What would be a good format workflow for a 10 minute film containing audio, graphics and photos only (72dpi jpgs and tiff files)?
    I will receive low res / temp photos for a rough cut. And then high res photos for the final cut.
    I would like to edit offline with a timeline setting that allows me to pan and zoom in/out of photos without much rendering, a fast compression. And then once the cut is approved another setting that allows me to uprez to a higher compression with little effort.
    My setup: Mac Pro (2009) with 3 gigs of RAM (thinking of upgrading to 6) and 512 megs graphics card.
    Any advice is much appreciated.
    Thank you
    sk

  • One computer, export to Compressor, need to work on FCP while compressing

    Is there a way to use compressor and not to lock up use of FCP?
    David

    Although Shane is right about "not selfcontained" there are reasons to export selfcontained. If you think you ever might want to go back to this file, I strongly recommend making it selfcontained. A reference qt, points to the original media files and any material that is already rendered. If you try and access this file after you have deleted any of the media or renders, you will have serious problems.

  • Regarding compression of cibes.

    Hi All,
    I got one supporting project.
    They already have cubes.They didnt compressed.
    Now i want to compress the cubes.How to compressing the cubes.
    I need step by step details.
    Thanks
    Vasu.

    HI,
    In your cube > right click > manage screen > go to the Collapse tab,
    On the Collapse tab click the  Request ID button. Here you can specify which requests,you  want to compress. Then you can click the Release button to start the compression.

  • Doubt in compression of tables

    Hello,
    I have a doubt regarding compression of tables.
    I just compressed three tables in my Database and took a dump of the compressed tables. And later i took the dump of the same uncompressed tables (having same data as compressed table). But there was no difference in the file size of the two dumps..Both the dump having compressed tables and uncompressed tables are of the same size, infact the dump of compressed tables is slightly larger by some MBs compared to dump of uncompressed tables..
    My doubt is why is the size of the dumps not varied..Will compressing does not change the physical size of the data file??

    Table compression is supported (and useful) in following cases:
    1) direct path sqlloader,
    2) create table as select
    3) parallel inserts or inserts with append hint
    4) single-row or array insert and updates
    If you want to compress dump data, use compression feature of datapump (11g)
    Note: advanced compression is an SE/EE option and needs an extra licence .

    How can we finish it early????
    We have around 1900 request in Cube  .And each request having around 10,000 records.
    So if we go likewise ,than it will be very time consuming ,decrease performance of other loads and very boring???
    pls give ur suggestions??
    thanx in advance...

    Hi Sonika ,
    Pls find my answer in front of ur q?

  • Tweaking compression for YouTube

    I am trying to make the best possible files for uploading to YouTube. I am working with HDV Quicktimes exported from FCP and compressing using the AIC codec and a frame size of 640x360, as YouTube requires for 16:9. The longest file is 10:30 and comes in at 1.14 gig, just over the YouTube limit. I can't find a way to change the codec to reduce the file size. Is there any way to adjust quality with this codec?
    Changing the frame size from 1440x1080 to 640x360 would have largely done the trick, I would have thought. But it doesn't seem to make much difference. In fact, I exported 2 versions out of FCP, one at the original frame size and one at 640x360 and both files are the same size! Can't for the life of me figure out why that is.
    If anyone has any tips about compressing for YouTube channels, please let me know. Ideally we would upload files just under a gig so that YouTube's compression doesn't completely kill the quality.
    Thanks.

    I followed everything kenstone said. Still having problems. Here's the new link...

  • Rollup and Compression in PC

    Guys, Let's say If I have an infocube which has aggregates created on it.  In a process chain how would the data flow look like?
    Is this one correct??
    START > DROP INDEXES > LOAD > CREATE INDEX > Roll Up of Filled Aggregates/BIA Indexes
    Also what about the compression?
    START > DROP INDEXES > LOAD > CREATE INDEX > Compression of the InfoCube
    Thanks,
    RG

    Hi,
    Yes, this is the process.
    but regarding compression, it comes after roll up of aggregates(if aggregates exist)
    hope this helps

  • When to compress Info Cube Data?

    Dear Gurus,
    I am mohan.  I have a doubt regarding compression of Info Cube data.  When will we get a situation to compress the info cube data.  Is BW statistics used in taking this decision? Is it to be done by analysing the query runtime in the Transaction ST03?  Please give me detailed information.
    Best Regards
    Mohan Kumar

    Hi,
    For performance reasons, and to save space on the memory, summarize a request as soon as you have established that it is correct, and is no longer to be removed from the InfoCube.
    Note : the request ID concept can also cause the same data record (all characteristics agree, with the exception of the request ID) to appear more than once in the fact table. This unnecessarily increases the volume of data, and reduces performance in Reporting, as the system has to aggregate using the request ID every time you execute a query.
    Using compressing, you can eliminate these disadvantages, and bring data from different requests together into one single request (request ID 0).
