FCP Audio content

I'm going to install Final Cut Studio - there are 3 dvd's of audio content. I I have Logic 9, do I have all that content already, if not, is there a place to find out what I need to load and what I don't need? Don't want to duplicate gb's of the same material.

Just have a look at what the installer tells you - if it's labelled "Soundtrack Pro" content, which I'm sure it will be, then untick it, as those three DVD's are identical to the three Soundtrack Pro audio content DVD's that come with Logic Studio.
(Soundtrack Pro comes with both Logic Studio and Final Cut Studio, and thus it's bundled content does too.)

Had this happen to me after a recent update, was super annoying. To turn off, go to Settings > AirPlay > Conference Room Display > Off.

Why can't I import audio content from a Pana LX5 MTS file?

Hi,
Awesome as the new video capability is in CS6 (the ability to add image filters is to die for!), I have encountered a problem.
I can import the video component from a Panasonic LX5 .MTS AVCHD Lite video file. But the audio isn't included and I can't bring the audio content into an audio track by importing separately.
When I import H264 .MOV, taken with my Canon 7D, audio is included in the video import and I can also import audio from another, similar file to an audio track.
Is there some special trick involved with AVCHD Lite format video? Has anyone else succeeded in importing audio from an .MTS file?

You aren't the only person: also fails for me, Windows 7 64-bit. Audio doesn't play in CS6 Bridge either, although audio plays in Windows Media, so I assume system has correct codec installed.

Can Romanian Companies open a iTunes store and sell audio content ?

I own a Romanian Company that produces audio content.
I wanted to know if Romanian Companies are allowed to create stores and sell their content online on iTunes.
Before posting this post, I tried to find the answer to this question, searching on Google and apple site, but without success.

At this time there is no iTunes Store in Romania, so there is no place for Romanian companies to sell music tracks, movies or videos within your country. Apple has not said anything as of yet as to any plans or possibility to open an iTunes Store in Romania, so until such time as Apple is able to open an iTunes Store in your country the answer is, I'm sorry to say, "no", not if you wish to sell within Romania.
If you are interested in releasing your content in other countries where there are iTunes Stores, though, contact Apple via their web page for iTunes Marketing. You'll probably want to read their FAQ first.

Can't install Audio content

I am unable to install the audio content for Soundtrack on FCS2 . During the process the installer will ask for Audio content disc 1 ,I insert the disk and then after a few seconds the installer asks for the Final Cut Studio install disk . I insert that and get the message that there was an error with the installation and to try again . All the other apps for FCS2 install fine . The only issue is installing the Audio content disks. Apple sent me a replacement Audio content disk and I had the same issue . I even tried installing directly from the Audio content disk as opposed to going through the FCS2 installer . This time it seemed to install disc 1 but gave me the error message when I installed disc 2 . Any ideas ?I have been talking to Apple but there is no resolution yet . They told me to make a disc image of the replacement disc and try to install from that using a different user account . I'm waiting for the disc image to be created .

Has anyone found a solution for this? I am also having the same problem with installing the audio content. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't understand this. I installed first audio content in final cut but it is asking put second cd. I did that. But there is only one way to get through is can't eject cd 1 . is i drag n drop this. cd 1 is out but when i put cd 2 in it is canceled automatically. I have to do all over again. Any idea what should i do to install 3 cd's?

Capturing VHS through DV cam to FCP - Audio clipping!!

Hey all,
I'm capturing a VHS through my DV cam (it has analogue to digital version) and when it comes into FCP the audio is clipping (going above 0db)
Is there anyway to lower the input volume?

The camera doesn't let you change the input volume
What I did was:
Made the VIDEO ONLY go from VCR > DV CAM > MAC
But made the audio go to VCR > PC LINE IN > PC LINE OUT > DV CAM > MAC
When the audio came through my PC - I lowered the LINE IN volume so on the FCP audio level meters the audio peaked at -6dbs.

Burning audio content cd from a dvd ??

Hello, Does anyone know if it's possible to take the audio content from a DVD and burn it as for eg. an MP3 or something that could be listened to on a cd player? I have some presentations that are video recorded and want to copy the audio as such.

There is no tool to do this directly as standard on Your Mac.
I guess that programs like WireTap could do part of it.
I would either:
• connect recorder eg my miniDV tape Camera and do an analog copy
then import this into iMovie HD 6 and from here export out as QuickTime
expert-mode and as an audio .aiff file.
This can be imported into iTunes and from here to an audio-CD or as .mp3
• or use Roxio Toast™ to back convert the DVD to streamingDV then to iMovie
and as above.

How can I add the audio content cd after logic finished installing ?

There was an eror installing the Audio Content CD 1 and I did not notice. Everything else installed properly, Audio Content CD 2, Jam Pack, but how can I add the Audio Content CD1 after Logic has finished installing?
If you can help me please be very specific as to how to do it so that I can follow the directions properly.

You could re-run the installer, or, once you have updated to Logic 9.1.8 you could use the "Download Additional Content" function in the Logic Pro menu. It will tell you what is installed and what is incomplete.

LPX won't update audio content?

Whenever I start LPX, I get the "Resume content download?" dialog from previously attempting to download new audio content.
I hit "Resume," and I get an optimistic "Downloading Additional Content..." progress bar.
I give it my credentials once it's finished, then every single time without fail, it shows me this:
Except my internet connection is absolutely fine. I have a great router and very high speeds. This has happened literally every single time, both on Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and Mavericks of every version. I don't know at all what the problem is. Anyone have insight?

It means your permissions are not allowing Logic X to copy the files over to the Application Settings folder when completed.
You need to set the permissions for the following to read and write for all:
/Library/Application Support/Gargeband
/Library/Application Support/Logic Pro
/Library/Audio/
You can set them back to normal by typing chmod -R 775 then drag and dropping the folders individually into terminal after you run Logic X and it completes the download one last time.
(That is to say: type chmod -R 775, drag one folder, then type chmod -R 775 and drag the next)

IWeb not uploading audio content

Hi folks
I've a problem with audio content on my iWeb site. I've created it as a podcast in iWeb and before I upload seem to work fine, including playing the mp3 files I've dropped into it. But when I upload it to .mac the audio content does not seem to appear and I can't figure any way to play it. Hmm, am I doing something stupid?

My father was having the same problem, then I realized, when I looked at my website, I too was having the same problem. I'm guessing there was a glitch in the last update that needs to be resolved. Call Apple .Mac support or regular support. They need to be made aware of the problem by as many people as possible so they can know this is happening for many of us. The problem is that iWeb is (for some reaons or another) changing the extention of the audio poscast from .mp4 to .mov. Because of the scripts that are running, and the conficint extentions, the podcasts don't work. If, however, you view the RSS feed of your podcast, the audio should load just fine. This is weird. Apple, please help!!!

Can i install 'extra audio content' after i have installed the main program?

i need to install the 'extra audio content' that comes with Logic, as i didnt include them when installing in the first place.
how do i go about doing this?
i mainly need all the different presents and chanel strips, not so bothered about the loops.
would appreciate any help.

That's what usually happens - you download and install Logic first and the additional content is downloaded from within the application (under the Logic Pro menu at the top left). Unless you have a blazing internet connection, you're probably better to download one set at a time - you can delete stuff that you don't want, if necessary or move loops to another drive etc..unfortunately the setup programs don't allow for installation directly to another drive.

Soundbooth CS4 - Audio Content still usable for commercial purposes?

I know that Soundbooth is no longer (officially) supported, but I wanted to double check and make sure that the CS4 Soundbooth scores and sound effects (referred to as "Audio Content" in the "CS4_LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR SOUNDBOOTH AUDIO CONTENT" located at http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/legal/licenses-terms/pdf/CS4 _LICENSE%20AGREEMENT%20FOR%20SOUNDBOOTH%20AUDIO%20CONTENT.pdf) are still usable for commercial purposes.
In other words, I would like to make sure that I did not miss any communication from Adobe about terminating the license as mentioned (as a possibility) at article 2.7 (“Adobe may terminate this license by notifying you that your continued use of the Audio Content is prohibited”).
Could you confirm that the “Audio Content” is still usable for commercial purposes in old and new projects?

"Up Mix" from 2-channel "Stereo" audio content to 5.1/7.1 Surround

This is a feature that I had strongly hoped would make it to Media Center in Windows 8, but didn't. Please consider this for a future update and/or the next version of Windows...
Feature Request: "Ability to Configure Stereo Up-Mix Capability in Windows Media Center and/or Windows Media Player from 2-channel Stereo to 5.1/7.1 Surround so Stereo MP3/WMA audio files output to *all* speakers in my system, not just the left and
right main speakers."

My audio content (MP3s, WMAs, etc.) are of course all 2-channel stereo format (left channel, right channel). My home theater PC outputs to my home theater receiver (which is a 2012-model Sony 5.1/7.1 receiver) via HDMI. When I play
2-channel music (MP3s, WMAs, etc.) from Windows Media Player (WMP) and Windows Media Center (WMC) both in Windows 7 and Windows 8, I only hear music from the left and right main speakers, *not* the subwoofer not the rear surround speakers.
In order for this to happen, WMP/WMC would need to "up mix" the stereo signal to take full advantage of my physical speaker configuration (as specified in my Windows' Playback Devices configuration, which Windows is able to discern from the capabilities of
my receiver). Media Center even has an Audio setup in which the end user configures the audio configuration to either Stereo, 5.1, or 7.1 yet music is still output over only two channels!
I would like to see WMC/WMP either "automagically" perform the "up mix" or provide the user with an option to enable/disable it when 2-channel Stereo audio content is played.
Too difficult? Rhapsody.com already accomplishes this with its online audio player! Note that my audio equipment has the capability of forcing output to two channels between the PC and the receiver, which my receiver will then up-mix, but this
requires physically maintaining a dip switch and also several button presses on my receiver's remote... and this physical configuration must be updated each and every time I switch between audio and movies. Too much work when it could be accomplished
automatically by WMP/WMC!

The ability of windows to better control audio channel output is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed. It's really basic in this day and age where everyone and there mother has more than two speakers (i.e. 5.1 or 7.1). I understand that certain media
players, or certain decoders/channel mixers can be a workaround for this problem. But that's not enough. Today, we have many different sources for audio that are not just files on a computers:
1) Video/Movie files on computers (played through media center, MPC-HD or other)
2) MP3s/audio (played through same)
But there is also:
HTML5, webpages, Netflix, Amazon TV, Flash players, silverlight, etc. etc.
Hence why windows needs an option at the level of windows audio decoder to better control channel outputs over LPCM-HDMI! Either Mirroring L/R outputs to rear/side speakers, or, formal upmixing algorithms like Dolby Pro Logic etc., applied before
outputting over HDMI (Note I am NOT talking about bitstreaming!)
This is a trivial problem using WASAPI or ASIO. Why has windows audio not been properly updated since Windows XP!!
Recently, HTPCs and Media Centers are becoming many households primary source of entertainment.
Examples of some issues:
1) With no bitstreaming at all:
- Configuring HDMI audio "Playback device" to 5.1/7.1, and,
- Using a software decoder/media player to decode Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-True HD, or Dolby True HD, and sending the data in LPCM over HDMI to the receiver/soundbar
-> works totally fine for outputting 5.1/7.1 surround from those sources
-> windows (i.e. software) completely fails in any ability to upmix 2.0 stereo sources to 5.1 or 7.1, or even mirror L/R channels to rear/side L/R channel for more room filling sound. Both these options should be available - upmixing with Dolby or other
for videos and mirroring/doubling the channels for music/MP3s.
Instead, windows audio sends silent channels over LPCM/HDMI when playing a stereo source. This has the added awful effect of not even letting my receiver upmix/mirror the outputs.
Hence, we need the ability to duplicate (for audio) and upmix (for videos) the L/R channels in a stereo source to the Rear L/R and or Side L/R channels through windows audio "playback devices" configuration before outputting over HDMI-LPCM!
In the day and age of 5.1 and 7.1 speakers this seems like such a BASIC feature that is missing.Otherwise, so many of us with an HTPC in our living room as our main source of media can't play music mirrored
through all our speakers, or watch videos with upmixed audio.
HDMI is the new standard, so this should really become an option.
I've done a fair amount of research on this problem, and do not believe there is any solution short of switching to optical (which I do not want to do because it can only carry 5.1) or, buying a fancy receiver instead of a soundbar with discrete rears and
a subwoofer (which I have) to do the mirroring/upmixing for me.

I am trying to install a newly purchased Logic Studio 9 and the installation is not going well; it is asking me for an "Additional Content" disc...but I don't have such a disk in the box...I do have a Final Cut Studio Audio Content 1 disk though...is this some kind of mistake and it shipped with the wrong disks?

Additional Content and FCS Audio Content are not the same
If the copy of Logic Studio you bought shipped with a wrong disc you need to return it for a replacement.
