FCP closing by itself...HELP..

Hello everyone,
My problem is while I am working on FCP sometimes it just closes itself out of no where. I'll be working and BOOM it closes and a window comes up saying "FCP has closed unexpectectly" then it asks me if I want to reopen, so I do and a little while after BOOM again it closes...Sometimes I'll go hours and nothing it works fine then all of a sudden it acts up..Anyone else had this problem or know what maybe causing it? Thanks...
Computer details: Intel based MAC with 1.5 RAM 200gigs and 500gigs external harddrive.

Ok..I did it...First thing I noticed was computer moving a little faster...maybe its just me, but it seemed that way..I would have to let you guys know later about FCP because usually it only happens after I have been working on it for a little while..I don't think its a memory issue because last night I shut down the computer and turned it back on and when I opened FCP and tried to move the clip it did it again..Ooo yea one other thing. It keeped happening while I was tring to move a clip into the timeline...Don't know if that makes a diffrence.. But then again its happened before doing other things I think..Sorry I know I am all over the place...

FB app closing by itself, I need help

So its been about 3 weeks since I updated my FB app on my Iphone4, and for some reason it keeps closing by itself, I am getting annoyed by the fact that every time I want to use the app it just closes. I already tried deleting the app, downloading it again, and I do not what else to do. Please I need help!!

Can I do this "fix" myself, or at least buy the part somewhere so that someone else who is good with computers can do it for me?

Computer repair sent one user this message "Tested without touch panel, hdd, ram, keyboard light. Ordered new motherboard, however discovered that the computer started fine without touchpanel, seems like on/off switch is oversensitive.
Power membrane switch is replaced, and everything is checked and OK."
So- power membrane was to blame, and I guess this is just the "underneath" section of the panel of the external power, volume buttons at the top of my key board right?
"Yes my issue was resolved. They replaced the power button strip above the keyboard which has eliminated the random shutdowns. Funny thing is that they had it less than 24 hours and seems like the "failure analysis engineer" immediately knew what the problem was. I feel sorry for the uneducated who fork over money for unneeded repairs."
So, since Toshiba seems to try to make you pay 400 dollars to replace a motherboard etc. which won't fix the true problem, is there a site where I can buy the power membrane for my laptop, then take the computer and a part to a repair shop and they will do it?

Photoshop cs5 and cs6 closing by itself?

Hello,
On a PC with XP.
Recently cs5.1 extended started closing by itself after being open for just a few minutes.
Upgrade to cs6 today and the same thing happened:
Opened photoshop, created a .psd file, added color and text, left the program and it closed by itself.
Don't understand. Help.

There's really no way anyone's going to be able to diagnose the problem based on just what you have said.
Chances are a display driver update or something that's been installed/changed on your system has made the environment unstable or insufficient for Photoshop to work.
You might even have contracted malware.
Something's wrong with your system. You might even have to go so far as to either restore from a backup to a time in which it was working, or do a fresh install.
If you do have to start over, I recommend you consider upgrading to a modern operating system.

the photoshop 2014 which i installed keeps on closing by itself, is ther a fix which i do not know about and how to solve this problem.

This is considering a clean install of photoshop so there's no restore preferences in it.
"clean install" may not be as meaningful as you expect, so restore the Preferences anyway.

Try:

"I continued to talk to other Apple Mac users on iMovie….Interesting to have found out that their movies were made using iDVD without any known issues as yet…Looking at the results from Apple Support Forum and Youtube, problems appears to be when NOT using iDVD. I and many others can't understand how these many technical problems were overlooked by the programmers of iMovie. One would have thought iMovie problems have been iron out prior to getting rid of iDVD. By the way when I first contacted Apple Support back on 16th Nov, I was told I need to RE-INSTALL my computer…..that I did and in the process my iDVD was removed and never was re-installed.
May I suggest you delegate a junior person or someone string together a project consisting over near 1700 images, approx. 25mins of video footage, titles and including with and without transitions then export the project.
I am still in the dark as to what is being done about this extended non result. I am not sure if is known by the people who is in charge of this iMovie programme. it would be nice to get some sort of feedback. Not sure if I should refer this to a third party to do the testing?? I am sure Apple's competitors would love to make a mockery of this.
There has to be a time frame for this to end, as I and many others can't simply sit here in the dark and wait for someone to come back for a solution, this could be months or years who knows. As you can appreciate I am not the only user anxiously waiting for a solution.
I guess I am in a way representing other worldwide users in pursuing a solution on this matter ASAP. I therefore ask you to please make this a priority if this is at all possible.

i installed idump from a cd on to my powerbook...now when i open word it closes itself after a short time, tried to de-install idump and re-install but the same thing happens

Even better, since the problem does not seem to be related to iTunes itself, try contacting the developer of iDump or ask in their user forum.

Fcp crash! please help...

i'm working on a large project in final cut pro 5.0.4... fcp project file is 157MB... last week around this time my screen froze, and system went into kernel panic mode with multilingual system crash screen... my co-worker/AV tech, Bob, replaced the system drive with one from another machine and transferred the system info (and third party ram) from the old to the new which seemed to be a seamless fix... until i tried to open up my 157MB project at which point the project did open -- only to crash ("application unexpectedly quit" window) as soon as i tried to open my main timeline... Bob insists he transferred the RAM from the old system to the new and I have scoured the internet (and this discussion) to find the solution... i have done all the usual tasks -- trash prefs, reset PRAM, Software Update, used FCP Rescue... i am pasting my crash report below... any help would be greatly appreciated -- im trying to get a documentary project finished for submission deadline later this month... i've been editing this thing for three years now and for this to happen at this time is beyond irritating... thanks for any help!

ended up isolating a drive that was causing the problem and also when it crashed, my last saved version had 5 timelines open at once... starting my project with all those timelines open at once wasn't happening... so i opened the project with no media drives attached and saved again after closing the timelines...

Safari quits by itself, no crash reports show up. How do I make it STOP closing/quitting itself?

Whenever I either close the last Safari window, or leave a few minimized (but not quitting Safari) or play a video in VLC (i.e) Safari seems to have quit itself entirely! I don't get any crash reports or notices about what might have occured, nor any error messages. It is very random, sometimes it just quits when I close the last open window, other times it will close even though I have several windows open, but it mostly seems to be happening when I play videos in fullscreen, and when i exit fullscreen mode Safari has quit itself along with closing all my windows. I've been through the preferences to see if it's been set to behave this way, but I find nothing.
I would really appreciate any help on this, as it is driving me crazy having to start up Safari every time I watch an episode or movie or do anything in fullscreen mode (which, is a pain considering how ridiculously slow it is, with pages not loading, or only half-loading or just seeing that god-awful rainbow-wheel for minutes at a time, and if anybody knows how to solve that last part too, please shout it out!). It even quits itself if I've simply just closed my MBP (not shutting it off), and then when I open it again (whether it is 10 minutes later or 5 hours later) Safari has quit and needs to be restarted/reopened.

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Select any messages timestamped from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

Browser closing by itself bug

the browser closes by itself sometimes(not always) when i minimize out of it and go into another app or when i close another app. very annoying bug because i lose all my tabs that were open , anyone else experience this? i hope RIM reads these forums.

i was thinking the same thing michaelwhyte, i do tend to have lots of tabs and apps open. if this is the case i really wish they'd prompt/ask what to close before closing it by themself.
and yes im not complaining i love my playbook, just wanna help out to get rid of all the bugs/issues or suggestions to make it even better

AR Open/Closed Invoices Migration Help

Hello Experts,
We have a data migration requirement for AR invoices from a legacy system to Oracle.
We have both open and closed invoices. Can anyone of you help in giving the steps to be followed? This is for India AR Invoices. Expecting a quick response and it would be of great help to us! This is in 11.5.10

Pl. populate the following open interfaces from your legacy data and then run the 'Autoinvoice Master Program'
(1) RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALL
(2) ra_interface_distributions_all
For open invoices the AR_PAYMENT_SCHEDULES_ALL.STATUS sholuld be equal to 'OP' .

Can't import HDV 720p from my Sony HDR HC1 camcorder to my FCP 5.0.1 help

I have footage that was shot on a contractors JVC HDV camera at 720p. I play it in my Sony HDR HC1 and i can view it and it plays awesome. It even recognizes its 720p. But i try to import it into Final Cut Pro on my IMac G5 or powerbook G4 17inch and it can play the camera but not capture footage. I have FCP version 5.0.1 How can i get this video into my editing software ive tried it on imovie as well and cant import video but i can control the camera. Please help.
Do i need to buy the updated FCP i noticed doing some research there is a FCP 5.1 now that i heard nothing about?

Get a hold of the JVC camera the footage was shot with. When FCP 5.1.2 is released (this month), you'll actually be able to capture the footage directly... problem is that the JVC recording is short GOP, and FCP currently only supports LONG GOP... You will need to upgrade to capture the footage directly, or buy this: http://www.lumierehd.com But in any event, you'll need the JVC camera to capture it's recordings, now or in the future.
JVC's iteration of HDV isn't the same as Sony's... that's the problem. PLUS FCP doesn't support any recordings of the JVC format except 1080i60 as of now. 5.1.2 will change that I believe. IBC was where this new update was announced I think, and you'll need to "cross grade" your FCP 5.0.x version to FCP 5.1. to get this update down the line... Yeah, I don't like the situation either, but there it is... Canon's HDV and JVC's HDV are very similar FWIW...
