FCP Markers VS Avid Locators -- Please inform Apple
FCP Markers have a serious flaw that Apple has got to fix.
I am a tv editor and use Avid Locators to mark locations for all types of notes from shot to be effect to edit notes from producers and directors. I also leave notes for my assistant to address when I'm not cutting or on the machine.
In Avid you have a window that permits you to see a list of all your locators at once and simply go to locator locations. You can also change notes and colors depending on your needs.
FCP does not have this simple window for markers. It makes you very dependent on a pad and paper where the actual timeline should be your master location for markers. Having markers on the timeline is great but they don't ripple and only serve a purpose for after you have locked a cut.
On the actual sequence markers are on individual clips but you can't reference all the markers like you can with the locators in Avid. I'm not pointing this out to say one system is better than the other but the proticol in Avid serves a specific purpose which FCP should include.
Finally, when placing markers on the sequence in FCP it places a marker on all linked tracks so that a clip gets its marker on V and the 2 stereo tracks. This is redundant and clutters up the time line. You only need a locator on the track of your choice.
I hope FCP fixes this very important issue.

Yup...I don't like the way FCP does markers at all. That is the one big thing I miss about AVID. That and the Animatte.

(I used to work for this man, David Schulman. I was his assistant for about 2 years...He is my mentor. He gave me the opportunity to cut scenes and let the producers know...thus giving me my first big break editing narrative drama.)

There may be a defect in the phone. As you bought it in the US the only place you can get it looked at is in the US.
When you say you bought it new, unlocked did you buy it directly from an Apple store? If you did not it was hacked to unlock it, which could also be your problem. Apple stores are the only place in the US that sells legitimately unlocked iPhones. -
Error Message: "Please install Apple Application Support" after QT7 Install
Greetings:
I attempted to update my Quicktime 6 application to QT7, but the install stopped partway through. I uninstalled Quicktime completely, and started over with a download and clean install of Quicktime 7.6.7. When I try to run my newly installed QT7.6.7, I get an ErrorMessage box with "Quicktime Player" in the header, and "Please install Apple Application Support." in the box.
What do I do now?

For some reason (Firewall / Internet security programs?) the Apple iTunes installation program doesn't install all the necessary components.
There is a way to manually unpack the installation program to it's 6 different components and install each component one by one.
(Advantage: you don't need to uninstall or deactivate your security programs)
Best thing to do is:
1) Download the iTunes installation program (directly from the Apple website
http://www.apple.com )to your desktop,
WITHOUT INSTALLING the iTunes application.
2) Download he WinRAR decompression/unpack utility (for example from:
http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html?tag=recommended Downloads )
and install it on your desktop for easy use.
3) Unpack the iTunes installation program, using WinRAR by rightclicking the
iTunes installation program and choose 'Open with WinRAR'.
Don't bother with the message from WinRAR about files beïng corrupt
(these are probably the unreadable 'Apple Mac' files).
4) You'l see that the original iTunes installation program consists of 6
different installation programs.
4 utility programs (necessary for iTunes to work correctly)
- Apple Application Support (Version: 1.3.2)
- Apple Software Update (Version: 2.1.2.120)
- Apple Mobile Device Support (Version: 3.2.0.47)
- Bonjour (Version: 2.0.3.0)
and 2 main programs
- Quicktime
- iTunes
Copy these 6 programs to your desktop with WinRAR,
where they will appear unpacked.
5) Install each program one by one IN CORRECT ORDER:
- First the 4 utility programs, one by one.
- Following this, install QuickTime.
- Install iTunes as last.
6) Check the Windows installed programs list to see if they're all installed.
You can check the versions of te programs by clicking the information toolbar
for each program.

Error "please contact apple support to complete transaction"

I have got help from my friend to create ID iTunes US for me because my computer notified error "please contact apple support to complete transaction". Then he gave ID to me and i want to edit some information but it notified that message again. So i use VPN to done it. Few days later, i have earned gift card for my ID and i have to purchase coin in-app (clash of clan) but the message repeat again. I try to use VPN to purchase it but useless. I have contacted to apple support (he is Kretz) 2 times but it isn't fixed. I hope that time will be success, it will be fixed by you or you can guide me how to fix it.

iPad mini with retina still having wifi problems with iOS 8.0.2 - slow or none. Resetting temporarily fixes problem it very annoying. Please fix Apple! Not up to scratch.
I Have followed these steps, and tried others, such as resetting all my network settings. At best these only temporarily fix the problem - wifi still becomes slow or stops. I have other Apple devices connecting fine to my airport express. why is my iPad mini not working? Is it related to the fact it is 3G and I don't have a sim card installed? It is the current top of the range model with iOS 8.0.2. I paid over the odds for the best, and it is almost completely redundant. Apple - I'm losing faith. You need to keep the public better informed and fix this problem fast, otherwise I will leave you for good.

<Edited by Host>'Locked' can have two meanings. It can mean locked to a specific carrier (service provider); if you want to unlock it to use it with another carrier only the original carrier can unlock it.
More likely you are talking about the other meaning, where a phone is 'Activation Locked'. Is this a second-hand (used) phone? If it is, and the previous owner has set up Activation Lock, this will prevent you doing anything with the phone at all.
If this is the case, only the previous owner can unlock it, either by giving you his Apple ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices - details here:

If you can't contact the previous owner to get him to do this you will be unable to use the phone. Only he can unlock it: Apple cannot do it for you.

I recently updated my Apple ID with a new email address. Now my iCloud account does not match my Apple ID.
On my iphone, when I press Settings> iCloud> Account> iCoud Account Information: Apple ID
The Apple ID is shown as my old email address, and there is no option to press this and change the sign in information. Therefore, I cannot backup my iphone.
I tried to delete iCloud, but the warning said that everything would be deleted from my iphone if I deleted iCloud. I obviously want what is on my iphone or I wouldn't care about iCloud at all. How do I update my Apple ID on my iphone for iCloud without losing anything on my iphone, including the extra storage that I paid for?If the Account name is wrong in Settings>iCloud you'll have to scroll to the botom and tap Delete Account, then sign back in using the correct ID.

My Macbook pro was stolen before I had time to register it and I want to inform apple
My MacBook pro was stolen two days after I purchased it. I did not register my product nor did I have time to set up any tracking software. I still have the box and the registration/Serial Number. How can I inform Apple in hopes that they can help me locate my MacBook?

You say "before I had time to set up tracking software", but a new Mac will specifically ask you, as you're first setting it up, if you want to activate iCloud and Find My Mac. If you answered "yes", you can go to http://icloud.com and track or lock it from there.

How can I inform apple about my stolen Mac Book Pro?
I want to inform apple about my stolen Macbook Pro so that if they try to register it we can trace the computer. But apparently there is no reporting system. Is there another solution, an adress to write an e-mail?
... well you answered your own queston. there is no reporting system..Apple doesn't track stolen equipment.. perhaps you bought Lojackforlaptops or turned on Find my Mac.. if you are at a college, you might want to ask your IT department if they can look for your IT via Mac's "MAC" address if you know it.

We are on SRM 7.0 and ECC 6.0.
We are using netweaver 7.0 (SP7) for our portal instance. SSO, UWL etc have been configured in the Portal.
Now when the user logs in to create a shopping cart and clicks on the Employee Self Service link, he gets the following error:
"No POWL object types are assigned to you. Please inform your system adminstrator"
What could be the resolution for this?

There were 2 roles for employee in portal. I changed the role. The one with details pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.srm.srm70/com.sap.pct.srm.core.fl_core/com.sap.pct.srm.core.fl_roles/com.sap.pct.srm.core.ro_employeeselfservice worked.
I did not have to maintain the settings for 'Defining query visibilty at role level'.
However now once the shopping cart has been ordered, I come back to check it's status under the ESS link, I see that it is awaiting approval, but when I try to open the SC, it does not open.
Also I am unable to open the SC if I search it under 'Advanced Search'.
Any inputs on what could be the reason?

A misleading and malicious popup. Launch Safari with the Shift key held down; if that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.

Itunes won't launch, Get Please Install Apple Application Support, Quicktime won't launch too.
Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
