Fcp music and sound directory

I have been using FCX since July 2013 once a week in a volunteer capacity, creating a weekly Vimeo and Podcast. Someone else maintains the computer and makes sure it has all the necessary updates; I just use it.
I just recently purchased FCX/Motion/Compressor for my home computer out of convenience but I'm frustrated that either my FCX didn't come with the free music and sound feature or that it is somehow missing a component in my download. Can someone guide me to where I can fix the problem, or tell me whether this feature has been eliminated? Thank you.

FCP X don't show audio files in the music and sound browsing.

Today I open FCP X to find some Sound Fx for a TV Spot and FCP X doesn't show any audio in the music and sound browsing. I trash my preference, restart computer with no lock.

load all the files in Easy CD-DA Extractor 12 and go to each file n cut the album art n paste it in paint and save it then load it back in the album art cover in Easy CD-DA Extractor.
Use ashampoo photo commander 5 dont use 6 or 7.

Only iTunes shows up in the Music and Sound media browser

I just upgraded to FCP 10.1 and I'm noticing that the media browser only show iTunes content in Music and Sound. No sound effects (foley, etc.) are included as before.
Is this simply that FCP no longer includes these or should there be something other than iTunes there?

Music and sounds folders not appearing under "music and sounds" tab for approx 5 min after launch

So every time I launch fcpx, under the "music and sounds" tab, all that is appearing is my iTunes folder, with the other folders (iLife sounds, FCP sound effects, etc) not appearing for about 5 min or so...anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?

Nothing ever shows up under the "Music and Sounds" tab for me. I can wait an hour and nothing "appears." The dropdown menu is blank and can never be used to select anything: It remains blank.
I've deleted preferences, rebooted, logged-in as a different user and reinstalled the application. None of that has made the "Music and Sound" section work.
If I drag a folder to the top area (after pulling down the gray bar) the icon changes to show a green plus sign and the top area is outlined with green. After dropping the folder nothing happens; it does not appear in the list. I've tried several different folders from iTunes and other locations, all to no avail.

I am using logic to record a podcast and using soundboard to use as a playback for music and sound effects. I'd like to soft patch sound board into logic, and still use my interface for recording audio from the other members of the podcast.

Thanks. Now, since Apple failed to provide an audio in jack for their new and improved iMacs (mine has one), all I can suggest is that you contact AppleCare, since you have 90-dqy free phone support. If need be, you might reconsider your purchase, but that's for you to decide.

Most movies have Dolby surround sound. Seems like you don't have all sound channels coming out of your speakers.
Is the AppleTV connected to a receiver or to a TV?
If you have a receiver that supports dolby surround you should configure the sound settings of the Apple TV and receiver accordingly.
If it's connected to a TV the audio setting "Dolby Digital" in the Apple TV should be set to off.

This question comes up from time to time. YouTube and Facebook are both wrong.
There are a number of con-men who think that they can earn a quick buck from claiming that they own the copyright to Apple’s royalty-free jingles and sound effects included with the iLife applications. These are all free to use, as clearly stated in section 2.C of the iLife Software License Agreement:
“You may use the Apple and third party audio content (“Audio Content”) contained in or otherwise included with the Apple software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original soundtracks for your video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual samples, sound sets, or audio content may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound files, sound effects or music beds.”

Don't drag them, import them from Media.

The Music and Sound section is completely empty after downloading FCPX.

The music and sound section of my FCPX is empty after dowloading the app to my newly purchased Mac Book Pro. On my I7 it has tons of stock music and sound, the laptop seems to be missing this. Any ideas why?

I had used Dirpy to download music and other sounds from YouTube for my personal use only in FCE, so when Dirpy bought the farm this week, I went in search of an alternative.
A lot of searching brought up sites that wanted me to download something - scary - and one even asked for my email addy so that what I wanted could be mailed to my email function.
I found one that did not require me to download anything from its site, was simplicity itself to use and gave exceptional results.
I dragged the site's URL to my desktop, pasted the URL of the desired music clip from YouTube into the site's box, and in no time at all the sound was converted to MP3 and was deposited directly into iTunes.
Before you follow suit, check it to assure yourself that it is legitimate. And be absolutely sure to read up on copyright laws as they relate to music.

How to fix the music and sound browser in final cut pro x

When i try to play a music or sound it will not play it in final cut pro x , I can play music or sound in Imovie 11 and work good , so not sure what the problem is,

Music and sounds with apps won't work when I have the ringer button turned off on my iPhone 6.

If I have the ringer shut off using the button on the top left of the iPhone, no sounds or music play for any of my apps. I can still play music and can hear sounds over youtube, but don't get any sounds from any other apps, both apple and 3rd party.

I have exact same issue. One thing that kind of made it work was to Go to settings, Cellular, LTE and select data only instead of data+voice and restart the phone. I don't want to accept that as a solution. I have a case open with network tech support to troubleshoot, but it can take 3 business days for them to look into it.
It's not a hardware problem (at least for me). I got my phone at Best Buy. I lucked out and they had one more left in stock so they replaced it. I have same issue with replacement phone. Issue seems to be with network/line on AT&T end. It seems that it can make a handshake to acknowledge incoming call, but fails to complete the connection.

Hi, i have a problem. my friend can hear all my music and stuff that appends on my computer, except when i mute my mic, in which case he hears nothing. i verified, it's not the ''playback'' thing of the microphone that does this... thanks for your help!

This issue has been mentioned a couple of times here on this forum. There seems to be an issue with audio under Boot Camp in Windows. I have not found a solution on the forums. I also have this issue, as do many other people.

Playing my music and sounds in the Music app in iOS5

I've loaded sounds and music that I've made onto my iPad via iTunes and they have played in the Music app quite happily in iOS4.
Now that I've updated to iOS5, only songs I've purchased in the iTunes store play, those sounds and music I have made will not play.
Is there a setting I should be aware of that will enable them to play?
It's annoying because it means I cannot use my iPad to play my sound work to directors...

It would help if you said exactly what steps you took to get your music from your old computer to your new one. Also where your music was located i.e. was it all in the iTunes Music folder or was it in other folders in My Music - this tends happen if you saved music outside iTunes.
The exclamation marks mean that iTunes can't find the tracks.
Note that one thing that can go wrong is that your account name is not exactly the same as it was on the old computer.
The default loction for iTunes music files is:
c:\Documents and Settings\<youracountname>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music.
You can see that the accountname is part of the location.
