FCP open and active, just not visable!

Working away in FCP, clicked on a link to a help file for a Noise Industries Filter, help file appears, command tab to move back to app, nothing happens, click the red dot to close help file, FCP disappears. Command tab to find it, I am already in it but can not see it, force quit says it is ok, hit play and time line plays, I can hear audio, video out works, just can not see application. I have had this happen before, different trigger though, and when I quit and relaunch it is OK. Any thoughts?

Very strange...what is your monitor setup? Other than relaunch, have you done any standard troubleshooting steps...repair permissions?, trash prefs?...though I'd wonder if this isn't more of an OS issue...hrmmm...
Have you tried shouting..."Ollie, Ollie, Ocks in free"
p.s. Don't be surprised if Bruce the Yak comes flying in from off screen.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail. Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Restart, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

Safari do not open and ends up not responding

Hi,
Safari no longer works for me after a software update. Safari will not open and ends up not responding upon launch at which time I have to force quit.
I have gone through the Mac help forums without finding a suitable answer and I tried the following actions but unfortunately not one is working.
-I have tried to uninstall and install safari again (to uninstall the program I have deleted also all the cookies in preferences and library and application support);
-I have created a new user and safari does not work for the new user either.
It seems to me that the mac feels that a safari window is open but I cannot see it.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

A few things you can try (I see you have tried some of them already):
If your Safari won't open, one or more of the following procedures should fix it:
1. Go to Home/Library/Safari/ folder and remove the following two files:
¥ history.plist
¥ lastsession.plist
(Safari may not load properly If these two files are corrupted.)
2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/ and remove the contents of that folder.
(These are just webhistory files and are not required for Safari to run. However, similar to preference files, problems can arise if they have become corrupt.)
3. Locate the cookies.plist file that's located in the Home/Library/Cookies/ folder and remove it.
(Again, faults in stored cookies may interfere with Safari's launch.)
4. Check whether any of your third-party internet plug-ins may be interfering with the launch of Safari by carefully moving them to the desktop (do NOT delete them at this stage). You can find these in two places:
Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder, and Global plug-ins are located in the Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folder.
Also look in Library/Input Managers where other third party add-ons may lurk. If you find a SIMBL folder, please note that some SIMBLE.bundles may require updating or possibly removal.
Restart Safari and place them back in the correct folders, one at a time, closing and re-opening Safari each time. If you discover that one of them was causing the problem with launching Safari, trash it and download and install a fresh copy.
If Safari is getting very slow:
Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

If your computer is part of a network: please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/bestpractices/#yournetwork and follow the advice given.
You could also try these codes as well: 4.2.2.1 & 4.2.2.2
If you use a Router, make sure it has the latest firmware installed.
One reason for a slowness in page loading may be the 'DNS Pre-fetching' feature of Safari 5.x

If Safari seems to hang for ages:
If you have a lot of tabs open and/or a lot of pages running Flash, Safari can sometimes 'hang', requiring a restart of Safari. This can often be inconvenient, and as it is rarely Safari itself that is hanging but merely one of its plug-ins, usually Flash, there is a way using Terminal to restart the plug-ins (without restarting Safari and losing your tabs) by quitting the WebPluginHost process:
Open the Terminal from the Utilities folder in /Applications and type
killall -9 WebKitPluginHost
Note that this command kills all Safari plug-ins, not just Flash. All plug-ins should start back up when you reload the page.
Then go back to Safari and refresh any pages that were using the Flash plug-in. This also fixes the Beachball of Death. Try this whenever Safari gets slow or freezes. The latest versions of Flash 10.1 appear to have improved the situation somewhat, but haven't completed eliminated it.

Well I deleted the Facebook app and reinstalled the latest version to try to correct the issue and it still didnt work. I had changed a bunch of settings earlier to try and fix it and it worked for the video to be landscape but as soon as I closed out of the app and re-opened it then it quit working.

Besides these problems, there is the battery, which was bad got worse, she is not lasting more than 10 hours, even without using the phone.

Did you get any help on this? From what I can see from surfing this site, it's a BUG that no one has offered a solution to. It sometimes happens after a 'reset' and going to ITunes does not offer a way to 'set up push notifications'.

Did you buy your machine second-hand? That's really the only way you would have to purchase OS X 10.8.x from the App Store... but, yes, if you have a USB thumb drive with a bootable installer (such as made with Lion DiskMaker) you can boot from that and reinstall OS X.

Csound1 What Ive been trying to explain is that I have been running bootcamp, I open the app where the first screen is the introduction, i hit continue, the first time I select "download the latest windows support software fromm Apple" then I return and instead select "Install Windows 7." Then hit continue. The third screen is where I "Create a Partition for Windows" I set Windows to 80 gigs then hit INSTALL. As stated before Bootcamp cannot find the install drivers saying "The installer disc could not be found." My windows software is on a USB drive not a disc, I tried using a virtual disc reader to make it appear that the windows software was running on a disc, still no luck. What I would like to know is how to install windows on bootcamp.

Unresponsive mac, nothing opening and safe mode not working

Was browsing on Firefox this morning with several windows open tried to use "logmein" app and got the spinning ball for too long. Restarted and logged back in which took longer than usual. The dock would then barely load and if It did would work very slowly, nothing opens at all other than the downloads folder opens and dashboard just about appears, also the top navigation bar doesn't appear only some grey icons on the top right. I've tried opening in safe mode, just gets stuck.
Please help mac enthusiasts!!

It does turn on, but just sits on the apple logo and spinning wheel.
If you don't hear the Mac startup chimes which indicate your Mac has passed it's startup diagnostics test, you need to take your Mac in for service.
