FCP to Motion: Motion can't read .jpg files'???
I posted this in Motion, but am not getting any quick responses; so I thought I'd try it here.
I've been sending sequences from FCP timeline to Motion non-stop for the last four days, no issues, no problems. These are all stills, mostly jpg.'s. I'm using Motion to do camera moves on the stills.
Today Motion is refusing to open, an exclamation box pops up, Motion says: "The document xxx.jpg could not be opened."
I've gone back to previous sequences I've done successfully in the last few days ... or copies of them (prior to creating Motion sequences) ... and I'm getting the same message. What might have happened???
Ben
Deleting deleting deleting, and deleting the FCP preferences too. Didn't help yesterday. Today is another day, I'll try again.
I did pull the stills (that Motion wouldn't accept from the FCP timeline) directly from their folder on the HD and Motion had no trouble at all working with them.
So the bug is between the FCP timeline and Motion. I'm going to reset preferred editor in FCP, scan through the Motion preferences ... can't think of anything else to do. This is a huge job, hundreds of stills, 90 minute flick ... there is no Kona card in the edit suite to speed things up; keyframing in FCP (having to render every try) is a bit teeth grinding. I'm trying to figure out how to get the edit suite out by the pool...

Lightroom Can't Read (jpg) Files
Why can't my Lightroom read my (jpeg) files now that I have reloaded it onto a new imac hard drive?
If the error message actually says "The following files could not be imported because they could not be read" then you're in the Import dialog, and you don't want to import the same files back into LR just to move to a new hard drive. In that case we need to find your previous catalog and open it, rather than starting afresh.
If you're in the Library module, I need to know exactly what you're looking at. A screenshot would be ideal. -
Error message: "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg files"
I'm using DW 8, and I have installed the 8.0.2 update. I'm
having trouble inserting certain JPG images into a site. I get an
error message pop-up that states "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg
files". It will allow me to insert some jpg files, but not all of
them. I've tried drag & drop and going through the Insert menu.
The files are not large at all. Doesn't appear to be any problem
with png's or gif's. It's incredibly frustrating. Anyone have any
suggestions? TIA.> why was i taught that all my web images need
> to be in 72dpi if it doesn't really matter?
most people suggest 72 because it was an old standard with
the early
macintosh DTP programs. For web use it's easier to
standardize on it because
when you make an image, you have to put ~some~ number in the
resolution box
and it might as well be 72 as any other number. It simplifies
moving image
files around in different applications if they are all the
same resolution.
For display in a browser, these will all have the same file
size and display
size in a web page:
600x600 pixels at 1dpi
600x600 pixels at 72dpi
600x600 pixels at 6000dpi
It's when they are used in other applications or when a
direct url like
/photos/1.jpg is printed out that they may display in the
resolution, not
the pixel dimension.
I came across a page once where the designer always saved his
images with a
resolution of 6000 dpi or some other odd number because he
thought that if
people dragged the image off the page to save it- most of
them wouldn't be
able to resize it. or some other idiot reason maybe.

How can I read pdf files from LabVIEW with different versions of Acrobat reader?
How can I read pdf files from LabVIEW with different versions of Acrobat reader?
I have made a LabVIEW program where I have possibility to read a PDF document. When I made this LabVIEW program it was Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 that was installed on the PC. Lather when the Acrobat Reader was upgraded to version 6.0, there was an error when VI tries to launch the LabVIEW program. And Later again when we upgraded to Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 I must again do some changes and rebuild the EXE files again
It isn't so very big job to do the changes in one single LabVIEW program, but we have built a lot of LabVIEW programs so this take time to due changes every time vi update Acrobat Reader. (We have build EXE files.)
The job is to right click the ActiveX container and Click "Insert ActiveX Object", then I can brows the computer for the new version of acrobat Reader. After this I must rebuild all the "methods" in the Activex call to make the VI executable again.
Is there a way to build LabVIEW program so I don't have to do this job every time we update Acrobat Reader?
This LabVIEW program is written in LabVIEW 6.1, but I se the problem is the same in LabVIEW 8.2.

THANK YOUHello techaprendo,
About view .jpg file in Adobe reader, it is recommended to post in the related Adobe reader forum.
About change default program in Windows, please take a look at the following article.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-hk/windows/change-default-programs#1TC=windows-7
Additionally, you could use Windows Photo Viewer to open the .jpg file.

Dears,
I was having forms version 10.1.2.0.2 and I was using webutil to upload an image and to download it. My problem is sometimes the image files are uploaded and sometimes not => I got "Can't read image file D:\...\image.jpg"
I upgraded to forms 10.1.2.3 and the problem persists.
I'm seeing that the picture resides in the workspace environment and not uploaded to the database.
I'm not limiting the size of the pic in the frmweb.cfg file, instead this limitation occurs on form level.
Hint. If you save this picture in "photoshop" tool, than you can upload the same picture without any problem.
Any suggested help will be appreciated.

Joe Farah
Edited by: Joe Farah on Feb 26, 2009 11:01 AMYes dear, this is the way that we can follow in order to get rid of this problem. Actually we have to mention to all users of my system to save the image file in this tool. But, it's somehow cumbersome for them as they might not have any of the mentioned imaging tool on their systems, isn't it ?
But isn't there any way to fix this problem ? Or shall I go by using PJC/Java Beans ? We have to find an effective way.. :)
Thanks,
Joe -
Can not open jpg files.
They works on Windows
Whats the problem? Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner. -

I am trying to import cr2files from the camera into lightroom 5 and keep getting an error message saying Lightroom can not read the files and therefore will not import them. Has anyone had a similar problem….thanks
If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

How can I read a file with ASCII Special Character into a SQL table using SSIS 2008?
I've tried everything to read this file and am getting no where. Help how can I read this file and load a SQL table?
RS - AscII - 30 (Record Separator)
GS - AscII - 29 (Group Separator)
Thank you for your assistance - Covi
Mark CovianWe can use script component as source/transformation to read the text file and assign the contains to a string. Split the string by chr(30) i.e RS and finally stored into an array or write to the output buffer of the script component.
For example on how to use script component refer this link

Hi there, I need to be able to read raw files from an Olympus Stylus 1 via CS5 and Lightroom 4. I have downloaded Raw file plug-in v 6.7.1 but still can't read the files?
Read this table http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
The Olympus Stylus 1 was first supported in Camera Raw 8.3 which is only compatible with CS6 and CC.
It is not compatible with CS5 or older and never will be.
If you do not want to upgrade to CS6 or CC then you can dwonload the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Stylus 1 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5.

<p>sorry for the bad englishI'm new in Java Developing, and dont know the written classes yet. I need help, how to do the following steps?
1. How can I read text files from LAN if I only know the hostname, or IP address? You need to know the URL of the file. You need to know the hostname, port, protocl and relative path.
The hostname is server, not file.
2. How to read lines from text files without read all lines from the beginning of file, just seek to a position.Use the seek() to get to a random byte.
(ex. how can I read the 120th line?)The only way to find the 120th line is to read the first 120 lines. You can use other file formats to find the 120th line without reading the whole file but to need to be able to detremine where the 120th line is
