FCP Video files burn to DVD, Only gets audio when played

Hi,
I know this has been asked many times, but, it's late at night and I'm looking for a quick answer please.
I burnt ideo clips,which I have exported thru FCP, and burn them straight onto a DVD thru the Finder.
The person who got the DVD said he only gets audio from the clips, so, he can't see them.
Have many ideas of what I should do, but, what is the most common solution to this problem?

The DVCPRO HD, HDV and ProRes codecs only comes with FCP. If your computer does not have FCP installed, it cannot view these quicktime files. It doesn't matter if it is a Mac or PC, without FCP installed, you cannot view these files.
If you need to view ProRes material, you can download the ProRes decoder (mac and windows compatible) for ProRes

If your footage was captured as DVCRO HD you can buy the Calibrated DVCPRO HD decoder:

If you have MXF files from a P2 camera and you need to view the footage on a computer without FCP, you can download P2CMS from Panasonic:

Or you need the other party to compress the footage into a format your computer can play, like H.264.

Can only get audio when trying to AirPlay from Dish app

Since updating to IOS 6 I only get audio when air playing from my Dish Network app on my iPad. I can get audio and video when mirroring; however the quality is horrible and it doesn't fill my screen. Usually these types of limitations are added by the app developer, especially with media apps like these. However I would first try Resetting the devices. I found the best way to reset the iPad is to close all apps in the recently used app list. Double tap the Home button to reveal the list at the bottom then tap and hold one icon till they wiggle and display a minus button. Tap the to close all apps them press the Home button to get back to the home screen. Hold the Sleep button till "Slide to power off" appears. Once it has shut down completely press the Sleep button till you see the Apple icon.
The procedure is similar to resarting your computer when it starts acting flaky. iPads are just a hand head computer and rarely gets shut down or reset so it would be similar to running your computer for months at a time without shutting it down.

Importing .mov files into keynote and only get audio?

I have dowmloaded some movie clips into quicktime (which they play on my computer) as a .mov and .mp4
however when i import them to my keynote preso, only the audio comes up with a black screen????
any suggestions

'quicktime' is no format, aka codec..
audio-only implies, you're choice was h264, which needs QT vers. 7 to offer video too ... check the version on the Windows machine ..

Yes, convert the clip to either DV or Apple Intermediate Codec.
Make sure the converted clips match the properties on an FCE Easy Setup.
We would need to know the properties of the existing clips to advise further.

Try the video app or YouTube app and see what you get. No all of the apps are AirPlay capable.

Cannot import .avi file, I only get audio and no video!

Im trying to import from an SDCard some video taken from a Samsung camcorder to import into iMovie09, when I play it on Quicktime I only get audio. I have tried MPEG Streamclip to convert the .avi file to another format but have not been successful. I used MediaInfo and these are the results:

MPEG-4 advanced simple profile format = usually DivX
1.) With Mpeg streamclip you should be able to convert your AVI(Divx) files to a DV format for iMovie. To open DivX files, you have to install one of the free Divx Pro codecs on your system.

I have question regarding comment below - unable to burn a video file onto a DVD

Everytime I try to burn a video onto a blank DVD i get the following message - I would appreciate any help to resolve the problem.
The disc can’t be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media.

this could mean:
laser dirty - some people recommend 'cleaning disks', some say this would kill a drive finally
or,
your kind of disk brand isn't 'first choice' for your kind of drive.
best track record on Apple drives: Verbatim or Taijo Yuden (hard to get outside Japan)
or,
you did try to use DVD-Rom disks, instead of dvd-r/dvd+r

When I add .avi files recorded with my Flip Video camera to the clip gallery and view, I only get audio, no video. The same happens when I try to play the clip with Quicktime. Help!

this reccommendation is to OS 10.5.8 only
Go to the hard drive find the following folders and look for the following file, com.apple.finder.Plist, delete it and restart the computer. Its found under the following folder Users-account name-library-prefrences. This helped resolve my issue for now.

Transfer video files from a DVD to Final Cut

Hi- I have a couple of personal DVD's that has content I want to capture and edit into a timeline. I would like to capture only portions of each.
Can anyone suggest best method of doing so?
Also, can video files from a DVD playing from a computer be captured in the same computer?

"I don't know what you mean by this. There are no chapter markers in FCP." - you puzzle me by this! Yave You ever made some DVDees after editing in FCP 7? Every chapter in the timeline could be transfered to DVD Studio Pro, and then used in DVD navigation. This is very important feature, decause you don't have to lookfor some parts of your video while creating navigation! Less work - more joy! Another downscore of FCPX!
