FCP4 gets hung up while loading audio filters, then quits

I have only very cursory knowledge of Final Cut Pro. It is installed on my G4, and has been used successfully in the recent past.
Upon opening FCP4 without my iLok in, I am prompted to purchase or cancel using all of my Waves plugins for ProTools, one by one. When I use the iLok, then FCP4 gets hung up on loading the audio filters, and subsequently "unexpectedly" quits. I have tried shutting down and rebooting with the ILok in place - no luck there.
I was unaware that Waves even operated as a plugin inside FCP, yet opening FCP seems to require my Waves authorization, but when I give it, FCP crashes. What could my problem be?
This problem just started last evening after sporadic but successful use of FCP, as well as fully operational use of Waves plugins within ProTools.

AudioUnit Manager 1.1 will let you create default sets of AudioUnit plugins.
Third party components are usually to blame with FCP failing to start up.
With this free app you can create sets which are specific to a particular program.
For example, create a set for FCP with the all offending plugins disabled.
When you boot up, they are placed in a "disabled" folder and stay disabled until you launch a set that includes them.

Without knowing what you have installed or what modifications you have done it is not possible to say what goes wrong. Like I previously mentioned, you may have installed an incompatible version of a core system library. Sorry, I'm not going to read any installation manual to find out what you might have done wrong. You may need to reinstall the complete system or just the popt installation package.
Based on my experience people sometimes seem to misunderstanding the concept of software version requirements, which are always minimum version requirements and does not mean, for instance, software made for gcc 4.1.10 does not work under 4.1.12. You cannot simply upgrade or downgrade core system libraries without affecting the installed system. Using YUM to install software will check this and prevent you from breaking your system. RPM does not check any dependencies and hence can break your system beyond repair.

FCP5 crash at load Audio Filters

FCP5 crashes on loading at point of loading audio filters.
I have many VST/AU virtual instruments for non-picture work.
Is there a key to hold down during FCP load that will disable audio effects/filters?
There are reports here of similar issues on loading but no conclusive responses.
Any help much appreciated

OK, you means the ProApps Update. Pro Tools is a different application entirely. It has different requirements and will do different things to Apple pro applications.
That could be the problem. Make sure the admin user runs the application. Trash the preferences for both the admin user, run the application, and trash the preferences for the non-admin user.

Many loads are getting hung in our load schedule.We are recovering it manually which causes delay in schedule.
can any one of you please explain what is the problem(root cause) and where we have to check for this? and how to analyse that what is the problem...? (apart from reducing the data packet size)

TM Gets hung up while backing up

Hi.
My TM keeps getting hung up while backing up. It's been more than a week and sometimes I get to 11KB and sometimes I get to 6.6MB. But every time it gets hung up and won't finish. I try stopping the back-up but that won't work. I have to eject the backup disk to get it to stop. TM pref pane says Failed. I ran disk utility on the disk, but it's fine with no errors. I checked the COnsole to look for error messages but there are none pertaining to TM.
What do I do?

Now, something else I've seen is that when I turn off TM and then turn it back on (the actual switch in the pref pane) I am asked to choose a disk to use for backup. When I select "Macbook Pro Backup" it asks me if I want to back on the same disk that my original data is on. That seems weird to me. That sounds like the message you get when you want to back-up to a different partition on the same drive. It will let you do that, but warns you first that it may not be a great idea.
And you should only get the "Choose a disk" prompt if there isn't one already selected.
TM should list any volume with TM backups on it (from any Mac) in the excluded list, but in gray, so you can't remove it.
It's a long shot, but it might be worth a try to do a complete reset:
Stop TM, de-select your TM drive (select "none"), note your exclusions, then quit System Preferences.
Delete the top-level (not in your home folder) file: /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist
Re-select your TM drive, re-enter any exclusions, try a +Back Up Now+.

FCE loads sound filters then hangs; any ideas

When I try to open FCE 4.0.1, it loads the video and audio filters, then hangs; can't close it without machine shut down. Any ideas?

For what it's worth, I have had great success with the audio plugins from Wave Arts. Have been using them for years on various Macs, different versions of FCE and SoundStudio, and OS X since Tiger 10.4. I've achieved some amazing noise reduction on old and new videos with MR Noise ... and restoration of old vinyl recordings just with WaveArts MR Click.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. What do I do when Final Cut Pro 4 crashes when loading audio filters?

When I try to start Final Cut Pro it crashes while loading the audio filters. I have upgraded through the years to FCP HD but trashed that and reinstalled FCP4.0. I also trashed preferences file and everything else other forums suggested. I ran preference manager but no luck. It hasn't opened for several months. I am running OS X 10.4.11 on a dual 1.8 GHZ Power PC G5 with 2.5 DDR SDRAMM. Thanks in advance for any help.

I downloaded Audio Manager and disabled the plug ins it found(which were in a different file folder) and lo and behold FCP loaded. I guess now I need to enable each one at at time and find out which is the culprit. Thanks for your help.

Preventing FC Express HD from loading audio filters

How can I prevent Final Cut Express HD (3.0) from loading all the TDM/RTAS/AudioUnit etc. plug-ins that we're working with in ProTools 7 HD ?
It takes FCE HD 15 minutes to validate all the 'audio filters' and it does that every startup: we don't even need the plug-ins in FCE HD.
G5 Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I'm having a problem with Final Cut Express 3.5 failing to load and trying to load TRacks plug-ins. Did you resolve the problems you had?

ITunes gets hung-up while playing

Since upgrading from 7.0.1 to 7.0.2, I have been having trouble with iTunes getting hung-up. While playing a track, it will get almost to the end (about 1-3 seconds left), then it won't go any further in that song, forcing me to skip to the next track. This happens about a third of the time. Any ideas as to a solution? If I can't fix it, is there a way to go back to 7.0.1? Using a Titanium PB G4, OS 10.4.8. Thanks.

I'm having a similar problem. After upgrading to iTunes 7.0.2 (running on my iMac), iTunes frequently stops playing. Technically, iTunes looks like it's still playing in my case, but there is no sound coming from either the computer speakers or the AirPort connected speakers. This happens several times an hour--VERY annoying. Any advice?

Using latest version of iMovie. Have two external harddrives for my movies. Decided to finally allow "generate thumbnails" run. To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

FCE crashing on startup when loading audio filters

I get a message that it might have to do with the third party Line-6 Gearbox filter.
How can I remove that so FCE can load?
When I look in Library/Preferences/Final Cut Express User Data/Plugins the folder is empty.
I tried to delete the Gearbox program but no improvement.

Look under library-application support-audio-plugin in your home directory and at base level on your hard drive.

I have generated several XML files (ACL) to load in the share services but when I do I get the following error message:
"Errors occured during syncrhonization: [com.hyperion.planning.DuplicateUserException: Another user with the name admin already exists.]."
I am not sure how to resolve this issue. Any help and/or assistant is greatly appreciate it.

Getting the error while loading the master data

Hi
i have tried to delete the master data using right click and delete master data, but still there are data.
Now i am trying to load this master data again then i am getting the message "0 from 50033 records"
and data load got failed with error message "master data/text of 0vendor already deleted "
and due to this i could not able to load my other infoprovider (which have 0 vendor).
can any body help me, it very urgent...

Hi Raju,
I assume there are no routines written in the update rules and also you ae directly loading the data from R/3 ( not from any ODS). If that is the case then it could be that, the data maintained in R/3 has overlapping time intervals (since time dependency of attributes is involved). Check your PSA if the same profit center has time intervals which over lap. In that case, you need to get this fixed in R/3. If there are no overlapping time intervals, you can simply increase the error tolerance limit in your info-package and repeat the load.
