Fcp6, Color 1.0.4 on Lion

Is it possible to run FCP6, and Color 1.0.4 on Lion? Has anyone tried to run earlier versions of FCP on Lion?

Thanks for the reply saba01, have you got it running on your system? Lots of discussions on other threads saying that it wont.

Well, I have FCP 6.0.6, and not working with Lion for sure.
Hope apple will allow FCS2 /FCP6 owners a discount upgrade option. That is if they want us to continue cuting with fcp..Complete death is a shame! All that money, projects, of course the time editing.

  • How do i change font sizes and colors in ical in OS Lion.  Everything is greyed and too small.   And how do I changed the color of the scroll bars, which are now invisible?

how do i change font sizes and colors in ical in OS Lion. Since upgrading,  all fonts are grey, instead of black,  and too small.   And how do I changed the color of the scroll bars, which also are grey and almost invisible?  And if you can asnwer this, can you tell me how to get back the email format I had before the upgrade?  I no longer have column headings and I'd like them.  Thank you.

Do you know about changing the font colors for ical, and the color of the scroll bars?
No, I don't. I don't use that program; I fiddled with it just now, and could not find a way to do that.
Perhaps someone else will have an idea.

  • Color Management Trouble! HP, Lion, CS5 ***!

    Hey there,
I've spent the last 6 hours on and off the phone with HP tech support, which is blaming Mac OS Lion and Adobe Creative Suite 5 for the crappy color management that I'm getting out of a new HP Laserjet CP5225.
Can anyone give me some tips to improve my color output?
I can print the same color to a Canon Pixma Pro, a small cheap Epson RGB printer, and an HP Indigo Digital Press, but it comes out too dark and lacking yellow in the mix via printing on the mac.
I have had more problems with color management in my Macs than I had in 15 years of owning PCs. I figure that the solution is probably more complex, with the driver, the Color Sync "utility," and Adobe all getting in the mix to screw up the reliable output of color.
Any tips would be very much appreciated.
HP suggests that I give up the idea of being able to print in CMYK and just try to convert and print everything using an RGB color profile.
I have been writing down settings, changing one at a time, and printing a sample... and so forth... since 3:30 p.m. this afternoon -- and no luck... Good color seems impossible to achieve.
Should I just send back the printer tomorrow and give up now? I just went through a terrible experience with a Konica Minolta Grafx, so maybe I should cut my losses quick on this one.
Any help or suggestions would be terrific.

  • Does HP Color Laserjet 2840 work with Lion?

I am considering upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion.  Will my HP Color Laserjet 2840 work after the upgrade?

I don't know if you have sorted this but I posted this elsewhere on the Forum. I have my HP 2840 working fine in Lion. Occasionally the Director software fires up and can't find the printer so I just turn the printer off then on and everything works OK.
I got a reply from HP who said that they don't make the printer any more and so don't support it. It will only fax and print.
    Here is my post:
Has anybody had the frustrating time that I have trying to get their precious HP LaserJet all-in-one scanner/fax/printer working under Lion?
I have spent ages looking over the net and on HP's own site and worked out that formally Apple and HP only support printing on these machines now. The so-called in-built functionality of Lion using Image Capture or Preview etc simply won't work with the HP2840: the HP2840 does not appear as a scanner.
Anyhow, I also found that the HP site does not sem to have the old drivers any more but fortunately I had them backed up in Time Machine so I found the old driver (LJMFP28x0OSX10.5Update-v8.2.dmg).
I tried just running install but it falls over quickly as the 'Start here" link is broken. So I dug around the package and found an install app calle Aio. I ran this and after what seemed ages of countless loops and after the installation program closed down every other app running (I've never seen apps closed so quickly but this may be a Lion thing) the Mac re-booted.
And hey presto! My scanner appears to be working. When it has finished I get the "HP Scan quit unexpectedly" window come up. But otherwise everything seems OK. I then ran the Mac software update and it (re-) installed the HP driver updates and the HP Director program still works and scanning is still available.
If anyone else needs the .dmg file let me know and I will uplaod it somewhere. I assume you can post here and I will be notified.
If someone knows more about this problem or can even get HP to do something better about the (lack of) support I'd be delighted to know.
    Good luck!

  • Color Correction effects & Mac OS Lion

I'm a switcher from FCP to PrPro.  I'm on a Mac pro running Mac OS 10.7.1 and Premiere Pro 5.5.1.
When I try to use the Three Way or Fast color corrector, moving the sliders doesn't show/update on the program monitor.  When I drag on the color wheels, it take a second or two for the program monitor to reflect the change.  (This kind of operation was instant in FCP)  Also, the eyedropper tools don't work at all.
    Is this just me?
Is Adobe working on a fix?
    Thanks
    BTW, I don't have a supported GPU.

It's not just you, it's the Lion OS.
And yes, Adobe is working on a fix.

  • Laserjet 100 color MFP M175a Mbook Air lion only detected as a "Scanner"

.printer not detected at all after installation.
message " failed to start session" appears when trying to launch scanner.
    NO printer detected..
Tried all means..installed and unistalled ....reset printer pref...
    What to do!

If you are using Snow Leopard or Lion and have HP software for pre-Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard or Lion and had the HP software on your Mac before you upgraded - even if you did a standard uninstall of the old software or installed new software over the top of it) you must uninstall the software using the 'scrubber' option:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
    Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Press and hold Control + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard simultaneously while you click on Uninstall <<<< This IS the Scrubber Option, there is no button labeled "Scrubber"
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
    Restart your Mac
    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Now reset the printing system:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175a and airport express

    Hi,
I just bought an HP LaserJet Pro 100 Color MFP M175a and installed it via USB cable on my mac book pro. Then I connected the cable to my Airport Express (where I had before a Samsung printer working correctly) and now it is impossible to find my printer via the airport express. I tried to add it via the printers & scanners (+) but it does not appear in the list.
Then I tried to add it via IP address but the 175a model has no IP address, which means I can put the address of the airport express but it does not communicate with the printer then...
I really tried several options without success and would be really grateful if someone has an idea or a solution.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Chris

    Hi,
Thanks for the link that is really useful. However when we follow this process, the printer is not recognized as a printer but as a scanner, which means that everytime we want to print with it, it is not possible because the scanner is not proposed as a device to print.
On the following link http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/Laserjet-100-color-MFP-M175a-Mbook-Air-lion-o... we are trying to solve this problem with Provost but it seems to be more complicated than expected. So please feel free to tackle this problem with us .

  • Dell 2135cn Dell printer but not in color.

I have a Dell 2135cn color laser printer. The printer works but will not print in color. I am using Lion. Anyone know how to print in color?

You can at least get the printer to print in color if you use the pxlmono/pxlcolor drivers from OpenPirnitng.org.  Just be sure to add the printer using the "Generic PCL 6/PCL XL Printer Foomatic/pxlcolor (recommended)" driver.
As I recall, when adding a printer using this driver, the default color space is Grayscale.  You can go to Printer Features, select color mode, and save it as a Preset.  Sorry to say you will have tro rely on Dell for any scanner drivers.

  • The positioning of color palette pop-up window in CS6

I just updated to CS6 and noticed a very annoying phenomenon.
The screenshot is my top right corner of the monitor. As you can see, the color pop-up window goes beyond the monitor. Since you can't move the pop-up window at all, there's no way I can change the color for any Filters unless I move the Properties window in the middle of the monitor. Has any of you experienced this issue? Any workarounds? I'm running Fireworks CS6 12.0.0.0236 on Mac OS X 10.7.4. Thanks!

The distance horizontally between the color chip and the color picker is unusually large in that screenshot. On my setup (FW CS6 on Mac OS 10.6.8), the color picker appears consistently very close to the color chip, even if I drag the Properties inspector to the top right of the screen.
Do you still have CS5 installed, and does the same thing happen there? The arrangement of panels seems very unusual... Is it possible there might be an unexpected interaction between them? (Have you observed this issue with one of the default workspace arrangements?) It's not a very satisfying workaround, but you could use your Swatches panel as a color picker replacement; they're linked in CS6.
Another user recently reported a problem with the color picker appearing offscreen in Lion:

  • Dock color mavericks

    ciao,
    grazie a tutti

    hello,
I can not change the color of the dock when I decide to put it on the side of the desktop dock does not turn black as they did for lion (I can not see properly the icons because there is little contrast).
Let me know if you have a guide for color changes or if please send feedback to apple to change this situation
    thanks to all
here is the link for feedback

You need to tell Apple you don't like it, and ask them to bring back the dark translucent Dock background

  • Powerpoint problem after downloading lion

I am using an older macbook pro from late 2007.  I have a powerpoint presentation that I use with a Dell projector.
The computer dell connection seems to be fine for most things.  I can play video, show the powerpoint slides manually etc just fine.  But when I press Play on powerpoint all I get is a jumble of colors.  Before upgrading to Lion I never had any problems like this.  When I am just using the computer I can powerpoint seems to be working normally.  Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?  Thank you so much.

  • Can't View More than 1 Calendar at a time

Hi, Just got my first mac since 1992, and starting tofigure it all out.  iCal is giving me a headache.  It looks NOTHING like any of the screenshots I've seen from Apple... first off it's got goldmenus, not system default colors.  (iCal 5 in Lion).
I managed to get it to pull calendar information from my Google calendar, which is great.  But...  I have like 4-5 different labels in Google calendars, and 3-4 different imported calendars in Google (family, school, work). But they all appear in separate windows, I can't for the life of me figure outhow to view them all on one calendar, in one window.
Somehow, the only way I can look at different schedules is to goto the "windows" menu, and open up the window for that thing. They are all there, but they all open separate windows.
And, aside from that, it's only like week, month, yearview.  No week view with lists of things on either side like the screenshots.  I'm so confused, I've looked through every menu, and goggled forlike an hour trying to find an answer, and so far, I can't find ANY way to makeiCal usable.  What's going on here?  There has to be some "viewall in one window" option... otherwise, what's the point?  Who wantsto have to open 7-8 different windows to check what's going on at 9am onThursday?  That's kind of worthless.
    What am I missing?

    Hi,
From the iCal menu select Preferences... > Accounts tab. Select your Google account in the list and click the Delegation tab. Once the list of Google sub calendars has been populated there, check the ones you want to see in your main iCal window.
Then go to the main iCal window click the Calendars button then check the calendars you want visible at any one time.
The iCal UI has changed a huge amount in Lion from that in Snow Leopard and before. Looking at screenshots of previous versions is going be confusing.
    Best wishes
    John M

  • Upgrade Issues FCS 5.1.4 to FCS 6

Having a problem upgrading my 5.1.4 FCS to FCS 6x. I am running FCS 6x on my G5 with no issues. Recently got a Macbook Pro and wanted to install FCS6 on it as well. I have my one and only full purchase original of FCP 3.0 with Ser No. Installed it no problems. Wouldn't run, but successful install. Then I installed my Upgrade to FCP4 with SerNo. No problems. Then installed my Upgrade to Final Cut Studio with SerNo. This got me to FCP 5.1 and then with some software updates from apple, upgraded it to 5.1.4. App runs without problem. This is where I am stuck at. I am attempting to install FCS 2 Upgrade with SerNo, which I assume with get me to FCP6.0 and realize there are multiple updates after that. When i insert the DVD it show it will install FCP6, Color, Motion 3, Soundtrack Pro 2, Compressor 3 and DVD Studio Pro 4. I accept the Software License and select destination as my main drive. I select NO for Distributed Processing and when the Selection Screen comes up, Final Cut Pro is deselected with an action of Skip. Cursor over the items states NEWER ALREADY INSTALLED. The same for Compressor and Apple Qmaster. Why can't Upgrade Final Cut Pro by not being able to select that box.
    Thx in advance

Well I found the problem incase anyone has the same issue. What I didn't realize was related in anyway was that I installed Logic Pro 9 earlier before attempting the FCP install. Found a thread that explained that the FCP installer sees that and wont install FCP, soultion was to remove the ProMediaIO.pkg from the library/receipts folder. Worked like a champ
    thx
