FCP7 Auto Locking Music Track

Is there any one out there that could help me out. I edit weddings and as part of the edit I usually lay down a few songs to my timeline. In order to edit to the beat of the song I usually mark the aif in FCP and then drag it to my timeline. The problem I am having is that any song that I mark on all beats or every other beat (like a dance track) and then drag into my timeline gets auto locked for some reason and when I go to move it in my timeline the time code next to the cursor is XX:XX;XX. Any help would be much appreciated.
By the way I have already tried trashing my prefs, restarting, fully uninstalling and re-installing FC Studio to no avail.

I clicked the "toggle sync lock" (if that's what you mean), but it still allows me to bring other files into the timeline & overwrite it (the main audio file). Unless that's not what you meant..

I have an iPhone 4S, updated to the latest version of iOS (7.1). Recently, I noticed that my iPhone's screen doesn't autolock automatically whenever it's connected via the sync cable to my Laptop Computer (A Dell Studio running Windows 8.1 Pro). This happens regardless of whether iTunes is running or not. Whenever the music playback is on, the screen just gets dimmed after a while (as it always does before the screen auto-lock triggers), and stays like that. However, when I stop music playback, the auto-lock work just fine.
I want to know, is this normal? I mean, is this the way it's supposed to be?

ALSO, iTunes has been updated to iOS 12.0.1.

My iPod touch screen doesn't shut off. The auto lock is set for two mintues, and everything else is working fine. I've noticed it only fails to shut off when in the music screen. How do I get the screen to shut off without using the lock button?

Please help. This is really annoying and it runs my battery down. My auto lock is set to two minutes. I've checked several times. Thanks.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My phone is not auto lock after 1min as specified

my iphone 4 is not auto lock after 1 minute as i specified in the settings. operating sytem is iOS6

to see the camera icon, double click the home button when you are on the lock screen. this will show the music controls and the camera icon. double-click again to close them.

What happened to auto-lock in mountain lion? I need it back.

I had my whole company upgrade to Lion, so we could use the well thought out source control features of the desktop. One of the key features was auto-lock. This prevents someone from accenditally changing a document without commiting to it. The auto-locking made the other changes such as duplicate make sense.
Now these are gone in Mountain lion. Which also makes the other changes to the file system like duplicate superfluous.
How do we get them back? Do we have to be stuck in Lion forever? Who puts in new features in an OS, just to remove them wihtout an option in the next cycle? That is inane.
Is there any way to turn this back on?

Go through each of the sources Music, Movies etc. and select Playlists. Use the elipsis ... to enable sources. Apps, Tones, and Internet Radio don't have a Playlists button, the others do and remember your selection. Not exactly the same as the old sidebar, but not too different.

Apps audio goes of when Auto-lock is activated

Hi folks I have a very annoying problem with my iPhone 3G, when I’m listening to music using FlyCast and 95.8 Capital FM apps the music stops when Auto-lock is activated after 2 minutes… I normally turnoff auto-lock but this reduces the battery life off the phone. Is there any thing I can do to prevent this from happening?

No - this is a function of the way the apps are written. It is possible for apps to continue audio with the screen locked (some of the white noise apps do that, for example).
Find the apps in the app store on iTunes, and there's a link to the developers website and support page. If available, submit feedback to the developer asking them to update the app to play audio when the iPhone is locked.

Auto-Lock Feature incomplete, there is no "Never"-Option available (OS 3.0)

since today i've got a Problem with my settings menu:
When i go to Settings, General, Auto-Lock I can only select Timeouts between 1 and 5 minutes, but the Option "Never", isn't available anymore.
So it isn't possilbe that the Display stays on until manual switch off by pressing the hardware button.
Usually i used this function, when I was driving car and listened to Music on the iPhones iPod. For navigation-apps this option is also very nice to have.
I've read in other forums around there in the internet, that some other users have similar problems, but none of them has the final solution.
I found out the following:
when i go to Settings, Mail,Contacts,Calendars, then Select my Exchange-Account and turn the three switches "Mail,Contacts,Calendars" in the following menu off.
Then the Option "Auto-Lock", "Never" is available again... yippie!
BUT: as soon as i switch on my Exchange again to sync data with the server, the option "Auto-Lock" "Never" is again not available and doesn't appear in the Options-list.
Anyone any idea??? I think its a Bug in the new OS 3.0, because i didn't have this behavior before. It appeared for the first time about 1 week after updating to OS 3.0

So i've read some of the posts on this forum, but the most critical part of this problem is in my opinion, that there is a stand-alone iPhone Feature (in this case Auto-Lock), which is affected by Exchange-Server settings that are not fine-tuned for the iPhone.
I think many other exchange users like me also have only a hosted exchange account, where it isn't possible to change the server settings on the go.
You have to contact your Exchange provider in this case and ask him to change the settings. This settings are of global nature for all users of the Exchange server, not only for those who use an iPhone with the Exchange server. So I think some of the Hosting-Providers are not willing to change their Default-Server-settings because of security-reasons.
BUT: (and this is what makes me a bit angry)
If Apple says that the iPhone supports MS Exchange, then it must also support the password and security Settings of the latest supported Exchange-Server-System.
And furthermore it should not affect basic-iPhone-functions such as Device-Auto-Lock and so on... If there is a solid software architecture which is fully tested and bugfixed, this should NEVER happen.. In other industries e.g. automotive you couldn't sell software with bugs like this one.
Just imagine you have a car on which the engine always turns off automatically after 1 minute TimeOut, just because you are hearing the wrong Radio-Station. If you disable the Radio or tune to another station, the engine stays on, as long as you want that by turning the ignition-key on/off.
Sorry about my frustration, but it's really annoying for me...

When playing YouTube in background the phone stays on and does not auto lock and if it is auto locked and you receive a text it will stay on / lit even in the lock screen

Mine and my wifes iphon 5s is having way too many problems for today's technology, when using iTunes music app from the lock screen if you press pause from the lock screen it stays the same not like before when you paused the music the play buttons would disappear but now they just stay there, and when playing YouTube videos in the background from safari and the phone is in lock screen and you receive a text the screen will stay lit until you turn it off yourself and also the same thing happens in the home screen if your playing YouTube from safari in the background the phone won't auto dim of auto lock after any amount of time it will stay on forever these problems need to be fixed, also the wifi is not working like it used to and the LTE and 3G data are slow, slower then the 3GS when ios 6 came out. Any number of things could have caused the phone to do this. If after the reset you are experiencing additional problems, the next step in the troubleshooting process is a restore from a backup. Make sure you have one before you start the restore process. If that does not improve things, then you may have to restore as a new device. Remember, restoring as a new device will delete all data off the phone. Make sure all of your pictures are imported to the computer and all other data is synced to supported applications on the computer before restoring as new. Can I have iPod over-ride the auto-lock setting?

I use my iPhone to play music over my car stereo via the aux input, and have the auto-lock set to 5 minutes. I want to leave my auto-lock setting on, but have it not lock when the iPod is playing. I think some other apps know how to over-ride this, but my iPhone is always locking me out when I'm driving and it's not safe to be unlocking it while driving.
Of course I can turn OFF auto-lock in settings, but I'd rather not have to do that every time.

Disabling Passcode Auto-Lock

I have a new iPod Touch and ever since I enabled it to get my e-mail and calendar information from Outlook it requires me to use a Passcode and to set an auto lock time. This is frustrating but especially so when I am in the car listening to music and I want to skip a song. I have to type in my passcode and before I can skip the song. This is a dangerous operation if one is driving. Is there a way to disable the auto lock or make it only apply to the e-mail app? Is Apple planning to improve this in future uprgrades to the software? If not I will not be using the Touch as my MP3 player and only as a PDA. An Mp3 player that auto locks after a few minutes is not much good.

Apple's workaround for this is to tap the Home button twice. Then you get the basic player controls even though the unit is locked.
I hate the Touch for car use. I am forced to stare at it to change anything and find it dangerous. I keep a 5G iPod video in a case for extended car use, and I can feel around the scroll wheel that way.

Auto Lock still enabling during sync

I have disabled the auto lock to never come on. I was initially getting errors during syncing about the drive not being able to be written to after a few songs. I adjusted all my power settings on the USB hubs on my pc and in the bios, to make sure they weren't auto disabling to save power.
Now I can get much more songs on it before the error, and every time the error occurs through iTunes, my device shows that it's locked again.
Like I said, I'm disabled this feature, changing the setting to "Never". I have powered down device and disconnected from PC, booting device back up and reconnecting, attempting sync again, and after many successful track transfers, it locks itself.

Desperate HELP! Clip Deletion Throwing Music Track Out Of Sink

AUUUUGGGGHHHH! Help me PLEASE I’m going CRAZY and I hope I don’t have to start completely over! I’ve been working on this video for days and I did something to REALLY screw it up! I have a very short video . . . only about 15 minutes. The VERY first clip of the video is 4:22 seconds long and I want to delete it. Every single time I get rid of it my entire sound track is off be a few seconds! What’s maddening is that it’s just a black clip with no sound of its own. The music track doesn’t even start until the VERY beginning of the second clip so I have NO idea why deleting this is causing me such trouble! Something here is terribly wrong and I’m at my wits end. Any suggestions? Please!?

Hey thanks for everyone’s input. I have read about the “Lock audio clip at playhead” command before and never really understood the concept but as a precaution I HAD locked the audio for the clips I’m talking about. There WAS a transition between the black clip and the beginning of the project. I tried removing the black clip and starting with transaction anyway just so that the time would match up better but it didn’t work. I tried all sorts of things but in the end I chose to completely delete the music track and start building it again from scratch. It took a long time but I’m happy with the results. Since I’m not sure what happened I’m not REALLY sure how to avoid it again in the future but I hope I never go through that type of ordeal again!

Ipod Touch 4G Won't Auto-Lock Properly

I got my iPod Touch a few days ago and everything worked well with the auto-lock/dimming initially.
Today, however, the iPod won't auto-lock. I can manually lock the iPod screen, but I'd like the 1 min auto-lock to work.
I have verified the settins are at 1 min.
I also quit all programs--even restarted the iPod--but it's still not working.
Around 45 secs the screen will dim, but will not lock. This happens both while I'm listening to music and when I'm not using any apps. (and I have also forced the multitasking apps to quit behind the scenes just to make sure)
I know for sure that the screen will "never" lock while I'm listening to music. Occassionally it will lock when I"m not using any apps....but that is very inconsistent.
Any advice?

There are two settings - Auto Lock and Passcode Lock.
Make sure to set them both properly.

IPhone 6 audio stops playing with auto lock and when earphones pulled out

When playing an mp3 through Dropbox on my iPhone 6, by audio has been freezing when the phone goes into auto lock. It never used to do this, and I don't think I've changed any settings.
I tried playing music through iTunes to see if it was a dropbox issue. The same thing happens. It also happens if I"m listening through the earphones and I pull the earphones out of the phone. The audio just turns off. iTunes is still open, but it stops playing.
Does anyone know if this is an iPhone 6 thing?

No, that shouldn't happen. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the apple appears?

In iMovie is it possible for the music track to run longer than the video? e.g. for there to be a short video clip playing during the intro to the song and then the song to continue to play in full once the video has finished?

Yes. Just drag your music in from iTunes or wherever and the timeline will auto increase to the full length of the music track. Like this:
