FcpX 10.1.1. stops launching at "restore windows"

The last few weeks fcpX (mavelixk, 10.1.1.) had a lot of problems; very, very slow and a bad cursor-movement.
When I go from the event to timeline and v.v. it's a @&%^#. You can make a cup of coffee.
Importing from cam. did't work or bad; the event remains empty of half and somtimes disappeared totally or the clips (orginal media) were to be found in another event!
Today the final collaps?: after restaring iMac from zero and fcpX ofcourse to try to start clean, fcpX refused to continu loading and stopped shortly after the message "restoring windows".
I tried several times, nothing helps.
All other programs are closed, the clips are IN the event. (not linked to) I started a clean, new library with new ivent, the import seems to be as useasly.
What can I do?
(note: I can't open fcpX anymore!)

Hi Russ, it 's still not opening so I hoped your suggestion would be helpfull. (sounds better to me) but I don't see the layout folder there and also not in the librabry in final cut pro (below)
I hope you can see it in the picture and know a suggestion ?
In appl. supp i see this:
com.apple.TCCV (file:///Library/Application%20Support/com.apple.TCC/) with in it a negative red sing.
Does that help?
Under that is the map fxfactory with a numbre of plugions. (there are no more ands all legel) Is it a good idea to remove this map (with all plugin) temp. to another place to try fcpX or does that give me problems when I set them back?

Time Machine won't launch restore window

I've made a backup using time machine and all was working well until yesterday. Time Machine is backing up data but when I go to restore something it doesn't work. I click the time machine icon in the dock and all the happens is that it bounces for a few seconds then a finder window appears showing my desktop, sits there for 5 seconds then disappears. There is no usual time machine animation, so the time portal doesn't appear - just the finder window which crashes after 5 seconds.
Same happens when I launch it from the application folder. I deleted my backup and reformatted the drive all seemed well but it still wouldn't launch the restore window. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did have a google but I couldn't find anything. If i need to reinstall time machine can you please provide instructions on how to do so,

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
There have been a few somewhat similar posts here, with various causes.
There may be some clues in your logs. Try this again, when you have a good backup. Note the exact time you +Enter Time Machine,+ and do whatever makes it crash.
Then use the Console app (in your Applications/Utilities folder) to look at your logs.
When it starts, click +Show Log List+ in the toolbar, then navigate in the sidebar that opens up to your system.log and select it. It will open at the end (bottom) of your current log. Navigate to just before the time noted above.
If there aren't too many messages after there, just copy all of them and post here.
If there are many repeated similar or identical ones, just copy one and note that they're repeated.

CC desktop app stops launching @ boot-up & Adobe Tech Support can't fix it permanently. Now what?

Problem: Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app stops launching upon boot-up and the CC icon does not appear up on my iMac's desktop menu bar at top. And whenever I loose that, I can't open my CC apps. Our friends in India seem eager to help and always manage to stumble onto a solution, (each time through a different process, it seems), but that lasts for only 2 or 3 boot-ups before it quits working again.
When I try to manually launch the "Adobe Creative Cloud" desktop app (by double-clicking it in my Applications folder), its red icon appears on my Dock and bounces up and down but does nothing more. My Force-Quit utility shows it as "not responding" so I have to force quit it.
My case has been elevated to Tier-2 Support but they call outside of the agreed-upon hours so I'm not here. My only recourse is to call them back, but that only gets me yet another Tier-1 technician and their limited troubleshooting playbook. I did get to talk with a Tier-2 technician once, but the results were still the same: Manages to restore it, but after just a few boot-ups the Adobe Creative Cloud app stops launching again and I can't use my Creative Cloud tools: Ps, Ai, Id, Pr. (And leaving my workstation on all the time isn't an option.) What DOES keep working without fail is Adobe's monthly hit on my credit card.
Has anyone else experienced this and managed to permanently solve it? How? I'm running a slightly older OS-X 10.7.5 and wondering if that could be a factor. Thanks for reading this and for any help you can offer.

Please state what you have tried - there's no point in people here wasting their valuable (own) time trying to help you, only to find you've already tried what they are suggesting.
Have you tried trashing your preferences?
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs first, then if trashing makes no difference, you can restore all your settings.
If you trash them and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then if they get corrupted you can ditch the bad prefs and restore from your (Digital Rebellion) backup.
Can't guarantee it, but it's worth a try.
If that doesn't work, move your projects and events (if you have any) to new folders so that FCP X doesn't find them, then relaunch the application. If it launches OK, there's a very good chance one of your projects or events is corrupt or one of the files in an event is corrupt.
Quit the app, then move one event or project at a time back to the original folder and launch FCP X agian - keep going until you find the cause.

Something else you can try.
In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you want to make your user library permanently visible, run the below command in Applications/Terminal.
chflags nohidden ~/Library/
You will need to do that after any updates.

None of those things you mentioned were what I suggested.
I'm guessing the "ctrl click in printer preferences" means you Reset the Printing System?
If so, that is what I would have suggested if deleting it by selecting the ( - ) button and then adding it with the ( + ) button.
But, if HP has a fix, it likely needs to update its drivers.

That is what I thought. Cannot figure out how to turn it off, though.
However, when I talked to her over the phone, she is definitely using Firefox. I tried to access her Internet Explorer, but it has been deactivated, I believe by Firefox.
She primarily uses the Internet to communicate with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Her e-mail account is with Yahoo Mail, and she uses Firefox to access it. Occasionally, she uses the web to look up information, and may have downloaded a virus.
Do you think there's something in Yahoo Mail that conflicts with Firefox? Is there some remnant of Internet Explorer that needs to be deactivated? Could she have a virus?
Any information would be gratefully appreciated. I live 7 hours away, and can only help her over the phone. I'm trying to develop a course of action that I can use with her. I know a little bit about Firefox, so need your expertise.

Photoshop Elements 6 stops launching

Windows XP Pro, SP2 and all updates.
Elements 6 stops launching: cannot find a connection to any other task that I am doing.
The only method to operate normally is to use install disk and do the "repair process". The program will not start to operate normally: until the next time that it becomes unresponsive.
Have tried complete uninstall and reinstall. After reinstall, Elements operated normally for about 1 month and then stopped responding to program launch.
Tried going directly to the program folder and launching the program.EXE file directly: no change.
Searched the previous responses but they seem to focus on Vista or a Bundled software package.

Your suggestion, I had found this earlier, only addresses Vista so I assumed that it did not apply to XP Pro.
Answers to your questions:
1.
After repairing the program, using the install CD, the program launches into the Welcome Screen. Prior to the most recent repair, when the program did launch, it loaded directly into the editor portion.
2.
When the program launch cycle is NOT performing, there is a short (a second or two) duration "spinning of the cursor" and then nothing. No display is presented and the system goes back to, in this case, the Desktop as if nothing had been requested.
3.
I will definitely check Explorer for any processes after the launch attempt if the attempt is a failure. Sadly, for troubleshooting purposes, this is a periodic issue.
I can use the program, or at least launch it, every day or several times a day, without an issue and then for some unknown reason, the launch will be non responsive.

Great that the Photoshop Elements 11 Editor from Mac App Store is working, but I am not sure how that was integrating with Premiere Elements 11 Editor or will interact with Premiere Elements 11 Mac if you can find the latter for purchase online from Amazon or other. (I realize that the Mac App Store products did not come with Elements Organizer 11; whereas the Premiere Elements 11 Mac does.)
If you want to add Premiere Elements 11 Mac to your computer, it might be a good idea to look at the tryout from the following web site, and then purchase from your selected vendor. The web site offering the 11 tryout does not sell the tryout as far as I have ever heard.

With this route you need to read and carryout carefully that web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" in order to avoid access denied messages.
When you purchased 11 Mac, you could even leave that tryout installed and just insert the serial number from your purchased 11 product in them to make

Do you have any version of Premiere Elements 13 or only Photoshop Elements 13 which comes with Elements Organizer 13?
Let us look at the following for Elements Organizer 13....
1. Deletion of disabling the Elements Organizer 13 setting file which is named psa.prf. In Windows 7, 8, o 8.1 64 bit, it is found in the
path
Local Disk C
Users
Owner
AppData
Roaming
Adobe
Elements Organizer
13.0
Organizer
and in the Organizer Folder is the psa.prf file that you delete or disable by renaming it from psa.prf to psa.prfOLD.
2. If the above gains you successful entry into the Elements Organizer 13, then you can
a. create a new catalog
and/or
b. repair or optimize the current one
See Elements Organizer 13/File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manager.
3. There are times that certain formats will bring the Elements Organizer down when you try to import those formats into
it. But, from what you wrote, your current problems do not sound media related.
3. At your earliest opportunity, please update Elements Organizer 13 to 13.1 using its Help Menu/Updates.

Fcpx gets stuck restoring window layout

basically final cut pro was working fine until i did a reinstall of snow leopard . then it wouldn't open saying its not compatable , i had this problem before the fix was to install prokit 7.0 , which i managed to do and now final cut pro x gets stuck at "restoring window layout" and some times the windows do open but they are extremely glitchy , i have deleted the preference in library - preferences i've deleted the files in the layout folder , and i've deleted everything and reinstalled fcpx . NOTHING WORKS!!!. and i would appreciate any help someone could throw at me . i'm using a late 2009 21.5" imac baseline. and running snow leopard 10.6.8 . would installing lion gold master work??? do i need a completely fresh erase and install of my hd .?????

Make sure the iWeb app is in the Applications folder. If it is try clicking on it there. If still no luck try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Delete any photos stored in the 'Camera Roll' section of your iPhone and iPhoto won't launch. Otherwise you'll have to disable iPhoto launching for all cameras. I agree this should be adjustable but for now OS X sees an iPhone as just another camera. As long as it has pictures that haven't been uploaded, iPhoto will helpfully offer to get them for you.
Of course, this doesn't apply to sync'd photos -- just the ones you take with the iPhone camera. So the way to deal with it (on a mac at least) is to let iPhoto upload your pictures when you dock. Edit them in iPhoto and move the ones you want to keep on the iPhone into an "iPhone pics" folder and sync that. Seems a bit circular but then we're only at iPhone 1.0 so far!

I assume that you mean that the iTunes window closes. Quit iTunes, reboot your PC and try again. The iTunes software might be corrupt and it may require reinstalling iTunes on your computer.
