FCPX Support for Sony Z5

Does anyone know if FCPX supports import from Sony Z5?

Officially supported cameras are listed here:
http://help.apple.com/finalcutpro/cameras/en/index.html
I don't see the Z5 listed, but that doesn't mean that it won't work, only that Apple hasn't tested it yet. Sony has a plugin for FCP 6; I don't know if that would be necessary for FCP X or not. Someone else here can probably confirm.

    Hi,
I do not seem to find any tethering support for Sony A550. Does anyone know about this?

    Hi Keith,
You can find a limited SDK at Cameras | Sony Developer World
The article that I posted the link to above describes how to use a "Watched Folder"

  • RAW Support for Sony

Any idea when RAW support for the Sony Alpha 330a will be added to Aperture 3? I would have thought that most all late model SONY's use the same RAW specs, but I cannot import my RAW pictures at this point. Thanks

    Sonyman,
only Apple knows the answer to your question.
If I had to guess, I would say it is likely that the V3 will not be supported. That camera was announced in August 2004; chances are that Apple will add support for RAW format of new cameras before they worry about old ones.
Then again, that is only my guess.

  • Ni-imaq for 1394 camera support for sony dv cameras

    Hello,
I am wondering if there is any way to capture images from my sony mini dv recorder (DCR-PC101 NTSC) to Labview.  Is it possible through ni-imaq for 1394?
    Thank You.

    Hi charliec,
Support for mini dv cameras is not currently available with the IMAQ 1394 driver.  The only way to access the files captured by the camera are to download them to disk then open them with LabVIEW (or some other programming environment).

  • Support for Sony DCR-HC1000

I would like to know if any of you have downloaded movies from Sony DCR-HC1000's tape to iMovie? When i connected the camera with Firewire i see a icon DVin on the camera screen but nothing happens on the iMovie. All it says is cannot find a camcorder.
Can any of you please help?

Thank you very much for your suggestion. I had gone thru the instructions but still cannot get my cam connected to my iMac.
The reason i posted this query is to find out if there are any one in this world who has managed to get the video downloaded from Sony DCR-HC1000. If so then the problem is only the communication between the two and has nothing to do with iMovie support for HC1000.
So please let me know if any of you have done this.
    Thanks

  • Digital Editions for Mac Support for Sony eReaders

With Sony releasing the eBook Library 3.0 Software for Mac and PC today and, therein, providing an official Sony eReader driver for Mac (sony_prs kernel extension found in the 3.0 software installer), will Adobe be able to provide support for the Sony eReaders in a future version of Adobe Digital Editions for Mac? As far as I understood, the limitation on the Mac version stemmed from the fact that Sony itself did not officially support the Mac but with that now in the past when can we expect to see this support added in Adobe Digital Editions for Mac?  Thank you!

  • Update does not include RAW support for Sony DSC-R1

Looks like there is no support for the DSC-R1 in the 10.4.7 update - that's a shame, I was hoping that it might be included

To make the R1 work with aperture, one must convert the R1 RAW file to a DNG first.
To make the new DNG work, you must lie to the computer.
After all it is only a machine. Garbage in garbage out.
So go to the following file:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Raw.plist
Save a copy of original file
    Open the "plist" in TextEditor
    Find the Sony DSC-V3
    Delete V3 and type R1
    Save file
    Reboot Mac
Convert an R1 RAW file to DNG
    Test
Use Preview to open new DNG file.
    Did it open?
Then aperture will open this file.

  • Poor support for Sony lenses

Looking through the list of 'official' adobe lens profiles,  I see support for literally hundreds of lenses.   However there are only 4 supported Sony lenses - even Pentax has about 50 lenses listed.
So where do these profiles come from?  I read somewhere that sigma provided all the profiles for their lenses and looking at the long long Canon and Nikon lists, I can't imagine Adobe went and bought/rented a warehouse of premium lenses purely to profile them.  I imagine then that there is some kind of manufacturer input to the Official lens profiles.
But who drives this?  Does Adobe approach the manufacturer or is it the other way round?
I would love to see a more complete list of Sony lenses (in particular, the 16-50/2.8 and marvellous 35/1.8) and don't have the confidence/time to create profiles myself.
Is there a plan in Adobe to profile some more Sony lenses?  Is it based on market share/demand?
    Cheers

True by all account! Canon and Nikon are not doing what is the best interest to their own customers (Ok, this is my own statement ). A number of other lens manufacturers have indeed followed SIGMA's example and provided Adobe with lens profiles. The list is growing. The user community has also help created close to 1000 lens profiles. Thank you all!

  • Please provide support for Sony DSC-R1 RAW files

    Dear Apple employee,
If by any chance you happen to read this topic, would you please forward this information to the Aperture team?
Some users need support for DSC-R1 Raw files in Aperture. Please do something.
    Thank you.

I can't believe that Apple can't take the time to support the DSC-R1...when I saw the new OS and 1.5 release I had high hopes, which gave way to dismay.
How can they support a so-so cam like the A100 and ignore the R1? I have Bibble Pro...they have no problem supporting the R1 and many other cams that Apple's radar can't seem to pick up.
This is really driving me nuts...Apple, how about listening to the rest of us?
Anyone for approaching Apple and/or the Aperture developers as a group?

  • Device support for Sony PRS-T1 in 1.8.2?

I installed ADE Preview 1.8.2 (Mac) and it does see my Nook, but not my Sony PRS-T1. Is there some workaround (such as: use Windows, uninstall Reader app, etc.)?
This model is listed on the 'supported devices' page.

    Hi Tom Semple,
If you activate your two devices with same account (i.e. Adobe ID), you may transfer your purchased book freely (if permission allows). There is a known issue that ADE still cannot access it with Reader software for Mac installed (Reader for PC works). But you still can try to copy books manually.
    Good luck!

  • RAW support for Sony A330

    Hi
Does anyone know how to get RAW files from a Sony A330 open in Aperture 3?
Or does anyone know of a timeframe when Apple will include this?
If I can figure this out then I am definitely buying a copy.
    Cheers

Im not sure but i suspect aperture will support sony raw files. Aperture will only use raw if it has the option. If you import some images you can see on the very top right of the metadata panel if it is jpeg or raw. i had a minolta and this is now sony and aperture supported that. so go for it! Allan

  • Premium Support for Sony's Vaio PC

I had an issue with my laptop not identifying any wifi locations, and so I called the Sony support number. I reached a pleasant lady in the Phillipines, who tried to help, but could not find the issue. I was able to connect via ethernet cable, so I permitted remote access. She tried a few things, but to no avail. She said she understood that I would be frustrated because I could not obtain wireless connectivity, and I could be referred up to an expert. She said there were two packages, an annual for $239 or monthly for $19.99. I specifically said I could not affor $239, and wanted to be sure the monthly was just month by month...one I could cancel. I agreed, as I was desperate, and gave them my Credit Card info. After that, an expert took over, again took control of my laptop, and tried the same steps as the intial responder, some of which I had tried myself! Since he couldn't locate the problem and needed to do more research, he suggested I disconnect the ethernet cable and restart...which is when I found out the issue was a windows update. Apparently, when connected by the cable but not in control of my laptop, the update downloaded. So, when I did a restart and it uploaded (took about 30 minutes), the wifi connectivity was restored. In any event, it wasn't until after I was able to review email that I saw my "contract", which was not as explained. If I terminate, I am subject to a 3 month minimum fee. This was never disclosed before I agreed, and since I could not read the terms without getting the email, I was clearly duped. I called to complain, saying I  certainly the one fee of $19.99 as discussed, but had not agreed to the terms that were not disclosed before I received the terms and conditions attached to the email. I indicated that it was a fraudulent inducement to contract, that is, not telling me about a termination fee and leading me to believe it was a month to month deal. I said I couldn't really afford to pay 2 more months, and would have to close the credit card. The "supervisor" said Sony would sue me!! She said she would listen to the recorded conversation, and agreed to call me back in an hour. No such joy. I called back, and another "supervisor" said he would look into it, and call me back. Since I am retired with little income, and was getting upset, he said they were humans and understood I was elderly, so I should not be stressed. If, he said, there were "lapses" in the conversation, they would rectify the situation. The only lapse I fear they will find is my lapse of good sense in trusting someone when I was in the dire straits of computer failure. If they agree to not charge me the remaining 2 months, I will update this posting. Otherwise...I will be out $$39.98 on top of the $19.99 charge already pending on by card. Here is the final kicker...my husband bought the BackStage pass for use at the Tampa, FL location where we had been receiving excellent technical support - hands on!. Sadly, shortly after we renewed, they closed that store, and we were informed we would have to go from Tampa Bay to Orlando for service. While the pass would be expired by now, I have to say I am tired of paying for service I can't readily access, and then being charged for a service that was misrepresented.

Hi Sony409, Let me check your file. Please provide via private message the model # of the unit, purchase date, your phone # and most importantly, the event # associated to your issue.  Thanks, Hailey

  • Support for Sony RAW (.SR2) images?

Does anyone have any information about whether iPhoto is likely to support RAW files from Sony's recent cameras? I have a DSCR1 which saves RAW files in .SR2 format.
I understand it's possible to convert these to more common RAW formats, but proper iPhoto support would always be best.

Thanks.  It worked perfectly.  Just don't understand how I digressed from being able to read raw to not being able to read.  I really appreciate your help.

  • RAW support for sony a7 mark ii

When will sony a7 mark 2 RAW be supported in Aperture? I am using Aperture 3.6 with camera raw 6.02. I know the camera is fairly new, but would like know the general trend. Its pretty inconvenient to convert it into DNG, push it to library and then process it.

Yes I agree. Files can also not be viewed in latest version of preview on OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. Any idea when apple reps?
