FCPx Update - soundtrack pro

Hi all, stuck at work so cant update yet
With the new patch, will we now be able to round trip to soundtrack pro?

Actually, under the Compressor Update info on the App Store ... under the "more" part, it says
"Removes stability issues when launching Soundtrack Pro after Compressor 4 is installed."
Hope this helps,
stephen

  • Soundtrack Pro cannot launch. Missing PtoFX.framework

Just installed Logic Studio 9 and ran the updater to make sure I have the latest versions of everything.
Logic Pro, Main Stage ... work fine, but Soundtrack Pro would not open. Here is what I get
    Dyld Error Message:
    Library not loaded: /Library/Application Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX
    Referenced from: /Applications/Soundtrack Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Soundtrack Pro
    Reason: image not found
I searched left and right for the solution to no avail.
I put in the installation disc again, but I cannot select Soundtrack Pro (Or Compressor for that matter) to be installed. It is simply in the disabled state.
    Can anyone help?

A small caveat - I could not get the Compressor to work using this method so Compressor still crashes as soon as it opens up.
I did some more digging around and found the following.
    1) Soundtrack Pro and Compressor were not installed originally with Logic Studio. The installer said that I already had newer version installed. I never installed Soundtrack pro or Compressor before. /Library/Receipts does not contain any references to either one.
    2) I tried to remove both apps according to Apple instructions to no avail. Installer still thinks I have them.
    3) I tried (following Apple recommendations) changing the value of the Soundtrack Pro version to force the software update to update Soundtrack Pro. Changing version from 3.0.1 to 3.0.0 does nothing. Changing it to 2.0.1 prompts to install 2.0.2 which I did not want to do since I am not sure what kind of damage that will do to the rest of the system.
So basically - if anyone knows how to force the installer to install Soundtrack Pro from the actual Logic Pro DVD - that would be the real solution.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Have Soundtrack Pro, how do I "install" loops to FCPx?

As advised by Apple in 2011 I have FCP7/Studio installed on another startup disk.  I found the Soundtrack Pro audio loops and put them in /Lbrary/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple in the startup disk with FCPx.  When I open up FCPx in the Music & Sound window there are 2 Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro folders!!  Is this a bug?  Or did I do something wrong?  Should I delete the files in the Apple Loops Index, would that fix things?  I like how finally the Apple for Soundtrack Pro folder is no longer greyed out, but I don't like the extra folder there.
Also, why is there 2 Final Cut Pro Sound Effects folders, one of them is greyed out.

I need to get "Soundtrack Pro" inorder to populate the "greyed-out" folders?
Possibly yes. I bought FCP Studio back in 09. STP was one of the suite applications that came with it (it also came with Logic Pro Studio -- as well as ALL the Jam Packs -- so I effectively bought it twice.)  Since Apple put these apps on the App Store (FCPX/Logic), all the extras you *used to get* aren't there anymore. [You can still purchase Logic Studio from Apple's website store.]
I've also dragged in 3rd party loops (from siliconbeats.com [they have quite a few free loops available], etc.)
Also, I really don't know if you even CAN buy STP or the Jam Packs anymore. You can buy Logic Studio and you'll still get STP and all the Jam Pack loops that way... but that's rather expensive for just the loops.
(*Aria*) -- I don't think the empty STP loops folder is a bug. I think it's there for all of the people who owned previous versions of FCP and had STP installed as part of the suite.
PS - sorry it took this long - I got cut off due to maintenance last night...

  • Soundtrack Pro crashes on launch.  New OS 10.6.6 update?

    Hey all,
I just installed Logic Studio yesterday and updated to OS 10.6.6 today. Soundtrack Pro is crashing on start. Are these two issues related? Is anyone else having this problem?
The error report tells me this:
    Dyld Error Message:
    Library not loaded: /Library/Application Support/ProApps/SharedA/Frameworks/ProFX.framework/Versions/A/ProFX
    Referenced from: /Applications/Soundtrack Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Soundtrack Pro
    Reason: image not found
    Other details I have:
My Soundtrack Pro version is3.0.1. The only other audio apps I have are GarageBand '11 and Amadeus Pro.
I have restarted the computer, and I have repaired disk permissions.
    Thanks in advance,
    David

Ok, here's an update on my attempt. nolanscott, you state:
    +reinstalling the old ProKit.framework 5.1 from TimeMachine again,+
    +Soundtrack 1.5 opens again...+
    +(HD / System / Library / PrivateFrameworks / ProKit.framework)+
I'm using Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1, and I don't find a "PrivateFrameworks" folder. But I did dig into a Mac Pro that has Final Cut Studio and did find what this iMac seems to be missing. But wow, not sure exactly how huge this is, but the ProApps directory on the iMac only has:
    --Bundles [directory]
    --Internal Plug-Ins [directory]
    --Logic Studio System ID
    --ProAppsSystemID
While the Mac Pro which has Final Cut Studio (admittedly no Logic Studio) has much more robust contents!:
    --Bundles [directory]
    --Final Cut Studio System ID
    --Internal Plug-Ins [directory]
    --MIO [directory]
    -- ProAppsSystemID
    -- SharedA [directory]
So, in the original error message I got, the entire ShareA folder doesn't even exist. The ShareA folder has 3000+ items in it. I've copied it on the corresponding location on the iMac (Volumes/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/ProApps/)... and SoundTrack Pro still fails. This time the relevant message is:
    +Dyld Error Message:+
    +Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/ProMetadataSupport.framework/Versions/A/ProMetadataSupport+
    +Referenced from: /Applications/Soundtrack Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Soundtrack Pro+
    +Reason: image not found+
Again, comparing the two computers, inside of the iMac to the Mac Pro, the ProMetadataSupport.framework folder is absent from the iMac. I copy that folder over from the Mac Pro and...
    BINGO. We have launch.
Now, the one thing about doing this is, that I assume I'm not the only Soundtrack Pro'er out there who is having this problem. I don't know what this will do when Apple releases and update for this. Will my fix cause new problems that conflict with Apples? Or did this in fact having nothing to do with updating to 10.6.6 and stem from something else I did? All I did was install Logic Studio, and run System Update. Didn't launch Soundtrack until after I had updated to 10.6.6, so don't know if the problem is connected to that...
Thanks nolanscott for inspiring my research!

  • No Soundtrack Pro or ProApp updates for Logic Studio users?

I attempted to download updates for Soundtrack Pro and the ProApp update but was asked for a Final Cut serial number - - whichm as a Logic Studio owner I do not have. So what's up - - are these updates not signifcant for those who purchased and use Logic Studio? Please advise.

You shouldn't need to go to the download page, just run software update and it should show up. Do any OS and Pro App updates first, the STP upgrade won't show up there until you do.

  • Soundtrack Pro v2.02 update

How do I go about getting this update? I have Logic Studio 8 installed. That installs Soundtrack Pro.
On the download page, the update takes me to the FCP page. There it will only allow a FCP serial, which I don't own. Via software update, it does not show the update either. So now what?
Sorry, I see the same question was asked in another thread, but it is not appearing in software update for me. (also, the pro application update is not listed)

Non' che' dubio' otri' vezi' - problemi'!
    That's getting close eh?
I looked through the downloads and Apple has not given a direct link for Logic Studio users!
That's a problem and it's not right. I would recommend calling the tech support line but right now it's so busy and the call from Italy isn't free. (39) 199 120 800
I would recommend going to Version Tracker and complaining in the feedback about this problem. I posted the problem in the feedback section for apple. But for now you're just going to have to wait.

  • New Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Pro Updates...

There's new updates for Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut Pro on Software Update.
They seem to have fixed the problem I was having with one of my giant old projects. I used to have to open one of the audio projects before my multitrack project would open, but now it opens just fine. So far so good!

    Hi Collings,
Looks like there are two threads about the recent FCP & STP updates, so I'm posting my findings here, too.
I just found another thing that appears to be fixed in STP 1.0.2:
    Batch normalize is working:
I have a bunch of aif files that I want to normalize. I opened one in the waveform editor, applied process->normalize (level=0dB), then selected File->Save as Applescript--this creates an Applescript droplet. Then I can then grab a whole bunch of audio files and drop them all onto this droplet and they all get normalized correctly. This is a huge timesaver for me. Before this update, using this approach to batch-normalize a set of files seemed to deliver unpredictable results, but I just ran a whole set of files through, and they all played back with a peak level of 0dB (and no clipping).
Here are the other things that I've noticed so far with STP 1.0.2:
    Automation:
-In STP 1.0.1, Automation was not applied correctly on project sample rates that were not supported by the hardware (e.g. play a 96K project on a laptop built-in 48K audio interface and the automation was late by 2X) -- this is fixed!!! YAY!
-STP 1.0.1 did not handle long automation ramps across long periods of silence (it would sometimes cause a glitch at the start of the clip right after the automation ramp--there is even a support article about this)--it seems like they fixed this one, too.
    Sample rate switching:
-I see an option in general preferences to allow me to disable the "Switch hardware sample rate to match document", and with this disabled, I no longer get audible clicks from my audio interface when I switch tabs. Plus, switching tabs seems faster to me.
Realtime effects and automation in audio file projects:
-They've added a warning to inform folks about the need to bounce realtime effects and automation to an action--if you are in an audio file project with realtime effects that have not been bounced to an action and you try to save, you get a warning message.
Has anyone else noticed any other fixes or changes in this update?

  • Just updated to Leopard and Soundtrack Pro 1.1  consistently crashes.

I've been looking for and excuse to upgrade to Final Cut Studio 2. I'm wondering, though if I'll have the same problem. Soundtrack Pro 1.1 will let me take one action and then it hangs and must be force quit. I'm also hearing a buzzing in the speakers. Odd. I have been able to reproduce the problem often.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

Same problem here - installed clean on a new iMac, and it's crashing periodically, and often will not allow me to save an audio clip that I'm working on. The only workaround I've discovered is to copy the entire audio clip, create a new empty clip, paste in, and save. I'm just a bit irked, since I'm just sweetening clips and assembling a radio show, so although FCS2 looks cool, I'm not doing the video end of it these days, and the purchase for the entire suite seems a bit of a waste.

  • Soundtrack Pro after fcp update, Bloody useless

Well the old fcp, worked fine for me quick, speedy, multiple programs open, fcp, soundtrack ect. I now find I cant run Soundtrack without super slow down, or crashing, its impossible to match audio to video now. what have apple done? I basically have nothing to edit with properly, I am so frustrated.
Anyone else noticed this? its as if its intel code running on the power pc it does not run smooth at all.
    I have a 1.8ghz PowerPc G5 with 2gb ddr Sdram
Any suggestions? old old fcp/Soundtrack Pro/ was super fast.
    Andy.

Well after a complete reformat and installing of fcp2 only, it is exactley the same. What a complete and utter waste of time, the old fcp was fast smooth and USEABLE its now stopping me working.
And to top it off i am now geting this..
"Soundtrack Pro is dropping audio becasue your computers hard disk cannot deliver all of the audio in time. Try removing some long files or quitting other applications"
I dont have anything else open and the file only conatins 6 tracks and is less than 1 min in length. Really dont know what to do now. I would take fcp2 off and go back to the old faster one but that means I cant capture 25f. ffs

  • Soundtrack Pro 2.0.2 Doesn't Open

STP won't launch at all. I installed everything from FCS2 once, then noticed STP doesn't open (all the other programs work). So, I trashed STP and the preferences and the logs and just reinstalled that from the DVD, then did the software update to STP 2.0.2. I didn't open STP from the time I uninstalled it until it finished updating.
All I still see is the white launch screen that says "Soundtrack Pro" (it doesn't even get to the GUI). The icon bounces in the dock for a while, then it'll just sit there, without the program running indicator. It says that it's not responding, and when I force quit it, it says it "quit while unresponsive."
    Any suggestions?

I got an error message now:
    An Unexpected Problem
    NSInvalidArgumentException
    * +[DebugController sharedInstance]: unrecognized selector sent to class 0x7d8700.
It's only happened once; the next time I opened STP didn't show the message, it just hung again.

  • Soundtrack Pro 2 keeps crashing...please somebody help :(

    So here's my problem.
I am running Soundtrack Pro 2 on my Mac Pro along with my Digi003. Both Final Cut Studio 2 and Logic Studio 8 are installed on my computer. Every application works fine except for STP2 that keeps crashing all the time.
I tried to uninstall it, reinstall it, reinstall Compressor, downloaded updates, Core Audio updates as well for the 003, downloaded the last Pro Applications Support but nothing seems to cut it.
The issue is as follow. I launch STP, the application scans (for the hundredth time) my plugins and detects something like 287 plugins. HOWEVER, the application crashes when the counter goes to 290.
My personal feeling is that the problem might come from either a conflict between Final Cut Studio 2 and Logic Studio 8 that installed both STP2 or, most likely, three plugins (the difference between 290 and 287) that STP2 has a problem with.
These last plugins scanned seem to be Amplitube X-Gear, a demo I deleted, Melodyne, that I downloaded lately and I guess something else. Also, I precise that I have not been able to rn STP for almost a year and as I am about to work on the post of a new film, I would love to use it.
The last thing I did was running the Terminal app that gave me a detailed report of the problem. I don't understand where it comes from though. So here's the report. If somebody can help, I greatly appreciate it!

    Probably an imcompatible plug-in.
Try renaming the plug-in folder momentarily, see if it boots okay.
If it does then you'll have to isolate which plug-in is causing the problem.

While it is against the TOU of these boards to speculate on future products/updates what Thomas said is right: FCPX is quite a new product and it doesn't make any sense to drop it now.
The only thing that MIGHT get dropped at a certain point is support for older hardware/OS as FCP X progresses.

  • Upgrading to Tiger, Logic Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Etc

    Hi,
Between me and Santa, it's been a really great Mac Christmas but I have some questions that I couldn't really find exact answers for by searching the forums.
I'm currently running OS 10.3.9 with Logic Express, Garageband (original) and Soundtrack (original). I'm about to upgrade to Tiger and have iLife 05 (with Garageband 2) here with upgrades to both Logic & Soundtrack Pro on the way.
I've decided to do an erase and install when I upgrade to Tiger just to wipe the slate clean (too many tried and abandoned freewares and demos!), but I'm a little confused about the best way to install all the new audio apps:
    1) Since I'm UPGRADING to Logic Pro and Soundtrack Pro, is it necessary for me to have Logic Express and the original Soundtrack installed before installing the upgrades, or will these install fine just by referencing my original activation codes or whatever?
    2) Would you recommend that I install Garageband 2 from the iLife 05 disc? I know there's a lot of redundancy, but it seems some posts here implied having GB2 installed was necessary for LP to work to its fullest (EXS instruments, Jam Packs etc)...I'm hoping I won't need to install GB2.
    3) Since STP comes with many of the same effects & loops as LP, is there anything I should consider doing to streamline the install or save disc space and avoid too much duplication?
    4) I'm sure I'll need to install the latest Pro Application Support releases. Should I do that after installing LP & STP or before? Does it matter?
    5) Finally, and I suppose this might be more appropriate on a different forum, but while I have you here: this G5 is my main computer for my .Mac account (we have a few other Macs in the house). Do I need to take any steps like deauthorizing or anything to make the transition smooth?
Thanks for any help, suggestions or recommendations! Looking forward to finally being current....
    ~Knight Berman (presto211)

Thanks again, Justin. Had some issues...after installing Logic and moving on to the Content disc, the Installer for the Logic Pro Bonus Sounds kept quitting each time I tried to run it. Updated Logic to 7.1.1 and it was able to install, but it took about an hour. When I tried to drag the tutorial folder to my hard drive, it said it would take approximately 33 hours to copy the 500MB file! Weird.
Also, before updating to 7.1.1, I tried launching Logic and it held for over an hour while Scanning Audio Units on: (19/21) AuAudioFilePlayer. Did a Force Quit on the Auval(?), which was not responding, and Logic opened fine, and has since. Don't know if this might not bode well for the future though.
Biggest Problem: Looking at the Loop Browser, I'm only seeing Garageband Loops from the drop-down menu. With Express, I could see other Sub-Groups besides GB Loops. I've installed Soundtrack Pro, and I know it's missing those as well because the "Vocal" tab is greyed out and, being sure there are some vocal loops in STP, I dragged the HD/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro onto the Loop Browser and it seems to have indexed them as at least now the "Vocal" tab has loops in it.
However, I'm still not seeing "Soundtrack Pro Loops" or anything new in the drop-down menu - which was always handy to access specific loop sets such as ones I installed on my own. I'm just worried that I'm not getting access to the Loops that came with Logic Pro! Any thoughts?
Thanks so much for your help ~Knight (presto211)

  • Soundtrack Pro Crashes at Startup

    Please Help!
I can not open Soundtrack Pro. I purchased and installed the Final Cut Studio Suite 5.1 and everything has been working fine. For some reason, though, I can't get Soundtrack Pro to open when it had been working fine up to this point. I have tried re-installing, trashing preferences, zapping PRAM, starting from install CD and running disk utility. Nothing is working. Does anyone have any ideas or do I need to contact Apple Support.
    Thanks!
MacBook Pro 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB SDRAM

I broke down and called Apple Support. Fortunately I was still under the 90 warranty for the Apple Pro Series Software and did not have to pay. I spoke with a nice gentleman who was very patient. We tried everything and were about to do an "archive and re-install" of the Mac OS when the tech had one final idea, which he thought would be a long shot. Well... IT WORKED!
The problem occurred when I did the recommended "Pro Application Support 4.0" software update. Something must of installed improperly or got corrupted. Here is how we fixed it...
First we trashed the following folder:
    Macintosh HD/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ProKit.framework
Then we downloaded and re-installed the Pro Application Support 4.0 update again:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/proapplicationsupport40.html
    That was it! Problem solved.
    Hopes this helps!
