FCPX updates without Apple Store

Ok, long story short. I have a copy of FCPX 10.0, which for myself is perfect, but I had a client come in with a FCP project that he wants me to finish. Usually its not an issue, but its a multicam project and 10.0 does not support multicam. Normally I would, and prefer to edit this in Avid, but the client had an existing 80% complete timeline, it just makes sense to finish it in FCPX.
But, the IT geniuses here have blocked access to the Apple Store, and also iTunes store, so I cannot update my copy of FCPX to 10.0.3 (don't want 10.0.4) and aside from brining a company owned MacPro home and update it there, which I would probably get fired for, is there anyway I download a update via the web, or better yet FTP?
Thats assuming the 10.0.3 update is a patch and not a full update like Avid Media Composer 6.0 to 6.01 was.

First, you can't get 10.0.3. Only 10.0.4 is available. Second, you would need the Apple ID and password to download it from the app store. If you have a Mac latop and that information you could download it at home and copy it onto the work machine. There is no web or FTP download.

You cannot update Mac App Store apps without the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. You are asking for help to pirate apps, we can't help with that here in the ASC.
You have really messed them up by removing that folder from the app bundle.

Just an FIY, my first post are not steps, they are different ways of fixing the problem.

First, have you confirmed that your Mac is compatible with Mavericks? Here are the compatible models:
•     iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
•     MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
•     MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
•     MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
•     Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
•     Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
•     Xserve (Early 2009)
so an early 2007 Mac of any type would not be compatible. If you'll run the System Profiler app (in the Applications/Utilties folder) and tell us what is says for the Model Identifier in the Hardware Overview, we can confirm what model of Mac you have.

Cyberduck fails to update from Apple Store

I have been a Cyberduck user for years but now it is on the Apple Store I get a failure message when I try to do the update. Other purchases update just fine. Cyberduck respond to my emails saying that they have no control over Apple Store.
How can I contact the Apple Store to advise them of this issue?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe modeand log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

As Terence Devlin stated, updating an application requires a valid Apple ID. Please check the information in the following link --

I have been waiting like all of you... I do not have the iphone and I do not have patience.. I cannot believe I waited this long.. But I was determined to wait to hear the reviews after the update.. Foe what I want the phone for ( mostly fun and basic stuff) it seems perfect.
SO.. tonight I plan to buy it (again.. long story). I called the Apple store right now to confirm stock, yes they have many. I asked if they will have demo's out with the update so I can see it... He said, "What Update?"... AAARRGGGG... he did not know what I was talking about and said they will not have demos. Also said onloy the touch ipod has the WiFi... Ugh.

My software update or apple store icons will not work

everything working okay but the software update will not work . Nothing happens when pressed. Similarly the connection with the apple store.
One possibility is the correct apple id and password will not work on this machine--it did not update from when I changed it on other apple products.

Updating Apple Store App

I cannot update the Apple Store App as it is calling for an old Apple ID which I no longer use. I cannot delete the App as it is an Apple installed App. Without deleting it I do not know how to get around this and update it.

Hi cindyhildy, follow these instructions below it has fixed my issue and should work for you.
Open app store, get the message "unable to connect to iTunes store", go to settings, change year to the last year it will let you (think I went to 2038), double tap home button and close app store, go to home screen and then open app store and touch updates panel, should get a message "cannot get secure connection to server or something like that" go back to settings and reset the year to current.

Passbook & Apple Store Gift Card

OK, what am i missing? How do you add a Apple Store Gift Card to Passbook? Do they need to update the Apple Store app? If so, this is ridiculous that they didn't have this ready for iOS 6 launch.

I've just today found a way to do this.
The new style physical gift cards at Apple Stores have a scratch panel with a QR Code for them to download the pass in PassBook, so i did a bit of experimenting. I Scanned the QR code from the card into a QR Reader and it brought this up. (edited to remove my gift card details)

So, i next used a QR generator to create a QR, but added my details, and then scanned that with passbook... and it worked!
(It will give an error about the pass being inactive when you try on safari so make sure you scan the code using the QR Scanner in passbook)
